Radioshack - $10 off evo3d and 20% off accessories

You should be able to get $10 off of the evo 3d using a $10 off $40 purchase by reviewing a recent purchase from a radioshack (I did the giftcard/preorder purchase): Link to survey
If you checkin using foursquare, you can get accessories for 20% off if it's your first checkin at that radioshack. You may also have to do a second order if you can't use both coupons at once.
Here's a link to find radioshacks near you. If you see an orange 'special' logo next to your radioshack, they should be participating in the 20% off for 1st check in deal. Click on the link and look to the right for the Newbie Special.
Exclusions for the foursquare deal are listed below (the $10 off $40 does not exclude cell phones):

Actually it isn't ymmv it should work 100% because every radioshack runs this promotion. I emailed them last month because I didn't see the orange special logo next to the store I pre ordered with. They got back to me a couple days later beacuse they forwarded my question to my local district radioshack ceo and they told me that they informed that radioshack to accept the 4square coupon and they also made a new 4square page with the orange special logo and got rid of the old one. Every Radioshack is supposed to accept this deal no matter what, so if you have any doubt at all just email them asking if they could inform your store about the deal and make it so that there is an orange special logo next to your store.
Also do you have any idea if I can use the $10 off $40 and the 20% 4square coupon at the same time? I have had the $10 off coupon since I preordered my E3d and I forgot to ask in my email.
They might not b able to ring it up.but if you can get this it make me feel, less bad about my preoder now that wirefly has it for 150 although a week later and tax less

haha, you're right. I think my mind was just inserting pre-paid there in hopes.
Yeah I realized that I was planning to use on accessories, which also are given 15% off when purchased at the same time as the phone.

Yeah... I bought my EVO at RS. They said I could get money off accessories... but they didn't have anything for the evo... they had a couple of generic cases but that was about it, and they were over priced. This time I preordered from Sprint.
I tried to use the exact coupon when I got my Epic 4G at RadioShack. They wouldn't let me use the 10$ off because it doesn't apply to cellphones.
Will work on accessories though.

Here is the exclusions from the $10 off coupon for a purchase of $40. Mine is different from the one posted earlier:
*This coupon has a unique code and is valid for one use only. Must surrender coupon at time of redemption. Multiple printouts or photocopies will not be accepted. Offer valid with coupon through July 9, 2011. Limit one coupon per person. Laptop/netbook/tablet computers, Apple® products, gaming hardware/software, gift cards, services, refurbished GPS are excluded. May not be combined with certain other discounts. No cash value. No photocopies. Void where prohibited. RadioShack reserves the right to end or change this offer at any time.
I don't see the cell phone exclusion, but I don't like the comment RadioShack reserves the right to end or change this offer at any time. I am going to try.

Nice vague wording..."Certain other discounts" could mean $75/$150 off from Sprint and invalidate the coupon. Who knows, we will just have to wait and see, I guess.
"Well, here's this coupon, but we can change it any time for any reason. And it may already be expired, but if not, we might not accept it anyway."
Whatever
2.3.4 on a Hero? Yup
20% off accessories? That'd still put Radio Shack at costing far above Amazon's prices!

[Q] Sprint change of contract apply?

Since I can't find an appropriate forum (ie, is there a Sprint forum on here?), I want to see if anyone here knows.
I think I already know the answer, just want confirmation...Sprint is changing their billing for CORPORATE discounts on family plans, this month. I have a family plan with an "EMPLOYEE" discount. I assume these are two entirely different entities and the change will not apply to the latter?
http://phandroid.com/2012/01/24/hav...nt-applied-get-out-of-your-contract-etf-free/
EDIT: found this on Sprint's site, and it says nothing about the type of discount...will definitely be giving them a call.

I don't think this applies to employee accounts.
By employee discount do you mean like if I work for Avaya I can apply a discount of 25% to my family plan? If your answer is yes, then this effects you.

If you were getting discount before you're going to be getting about a $5 increase in your monthly bill. This was how I got out of my contract and moved to T-Mobile. For the technical details, RulingCzar outlines it quite well. Also look HERE for more details.
Do NOT PM me about this. Just call and say something like, "This is material change against the contract I originally agreed with, therefore I'd like to get out of my contract ETF-free."
Be nice and friendly with them, they're people too.

Sprint Framily: Q&A + Codes

Has anyone switched to the new Framily plans? It seems like a decent value, but I'd like to hear from someone that has seen the expected bill.
The wife and I have a plan a few years old - 1500 min + unlimited mobile calling + unlimited text and data. We do have a discount on the account (for several years now), but the discount is only applied to the primary line ($110 * 20% = 22 credit) and not the Add-a-line. After taxes, fees and insurance our bill is about $170 a month.
The Framily plans information indicates $70 per line (for two phones + unlimited data). I am wondering if their accounting scheme would remain the same, so that they only apply the discount to the primary line (thus a $10 credit) rather than to both.
I rather expect that those who switch to the new plan scheme will not be able to view the new accounting changes until after Feb 10th, but I thought I would float this thread until someone with info pops up.
Or if there is a secret Sprint insider that could fill us in, that would be good too.
Also, I'm curious about the new annual upgrade scheme, but I don't think that enough information is out there.
Thanks for the feedback peeps.
Update: I saw that some are posting their Framily codes on other threads. This seems like it can only help you, especially if you are a two-person bill, like myself. There is a place on Sprint's Framily website to check the discount rate of the Framily ID.
If you are willing to share your Framily ID, I encourage you to post it below, along with the number of people currently in your group.
Update 2: I got responses from @sprintCare regarding NVP discounts and the Framily plans, confirming what AFSOC_Commando said: NVP discounts only apply to the data plan on a Framily account.
I also confirmed that only 1 NVP discount per account, and they are treating the Framily ID as the account. Therefore if my wife and I are on one bill, I get the discount, she does not. Take this into consideration when it comes to upgrade time.
So You're at $140.00 before taxes and fees? Aren't you paying 129.00 before taxes and fees now?

I neglected to specify the things that would not change if I altered my plan [TEP+Repair] nor did I include the $10 per line premium data fee. I don't think it can hurt to post this image, but maybe it will help someone else to choose an optimum plan. By treating secondary [tertiary] lines as add-ons Sprint justifies not applying the corporate discount.
Before taxes I'd say I'm about $150 including insurance.
On the Framily plans I estimate that I would end up paying maybe $2 more a month
Personally, based on what I see, I don't see an advantage changing your plan unless you're forced to. I have a very similar plan except I don't opt-in for the TEP/repair cost. And not to hijack your thread, but when was the last time you actually used the TEP/repair service? You'll save about $260+ ever year, that's like a new phone in savings. And if your phone happens to break (not obvious abuse e.g. cracked screen) Sprint would replace it for $50 without insurance. (I did this with my wife's phone when her S3 was acting up). Anywho, I think it's great that you bring this up as I'm in the same situation and my upgrade is coming up next month so I might want to change plans if their is an advantage (which I can't readily see). I'll keep an eye on this thread

Oh, hijack all you want. I've replaced my EVO LTE twice, the EVO 4G once, the Touch Pro was replaced with the TouchPro2 - which was cool at the time - and that was shortly after I enrolled in TEP. My wife has replaced her EVO LTE once, and maybe her EVO before that. So we've gotten a value out of it, but I know that they are soaking us, it's really ridiculous.
I don't think that there is much chance of us Framily saving us much money, but I think I would like to be locked in to the annual upgrade perk before they do away with it again.
I called today about the Framily plan as I'm out of contract right now. I was under the impression that the framily plan acted just like the web-site seems to lay it out...55 for me, 50 for the next person, 45 for third....so on and so on. It sounded pretty good since, once you're enrolled, you get a group id that you can give to people and when they sign up, they join your group.
So, here's what I actually found out when I called *2 and talked to a rep...
First off, there's no contracts, so you can have people join and leave at any time. However, when someone joins, it can take up to 2 months for the billing to be adjusted to show your "multiple people group savings". So basically, if two people join in January (they should be at $50/mth) but you might not see the savings until March. When person 3 joins in March, you might not see the additional savings until May/June. If one person drops, everyone's bill will increase to account for that loss of a person on the plan.
It's an additional $20/line for unlimited data.
Only people NOT currently in Sprint can join. When I brought up that the website says there's options to allow others in Sprint to join, the rep said that there have to be certain circumstances, which after going round and round, basically mean that whoever joins your group needs to be out of contract. If they're not, they'll have to pay an additional fee (a pro-rated fee??) based on the cost of their device.
There's no phones or upgrades or discounts or anything else when you go to the framily plans. If you want a new phone, you have to pay full retail price for it or you can do a 24 monthly payment for said new phone. Also, when you want to purchase a new phone, there's a deposit that must be paid in addition to the 24 monthly payments, which include monthly tax on the full cost of the device. I asked for an example, supposing I wanted the new S5 when/if it ever comes out at a price of $500. So my monthly bill would be 55/mth service (1 person) + 20/unlim data + 25 (500 phone charge + 45 in taxes divided by 24 months) plus an UndeterminedDeposit for switching to a new phone and a 15 upgrade fee. If you leave the framily plan, you owe a fully payment for rest of retail cost of phone.
Personally, it's not worth it for me. I want a new phone, and I have the two year discount to use. If I were to switch to the framily plan, I'd lose that discount, and most of the people I know that would join are in areas where sprint is piss-poor, or they're jumping ship for Tmobile. The rep I was talking to said that I could probably use my two year discount for a new phone THEN switch over to the framily plan. Trouble with that is that if after two years I'm still on it, and want to change phones, it'll be a heavy cost.
BTW - I was on the 450min+unlimited everything else plan which doesn't exist any more. So the rep moved me to the Unlimited minutes + Unlimited4LifeData for $80/mth (change to my bill was .01¢ increase). Didn't extend, didn't change contract, etc...just gave me unlimited minutes for a penny more per month.

Careful with this part. If I read it right, if you do that (get a new phone using your upgrade, which would put you into a 2yr contract), and THEN switch, I think they will charge you an additional 15/mo since you are on contract, for a max of 12 months, additional 180$ (15$ *12mo)

Based on what you describe it seems like I'd better stay in the boat that I'm comfortable in. I didn't realize that they would no longer subsidize the cost of the phone. If the new HTC One 2014 is $650, and my wife and I both got one, then we would end up paying an additional $27/month each on top of the Framily plan. That sounds an awful lot like a $225/month arrangement, and that sucks.
Yeah so I'll keep my existing plan probably.
Thanks for the input.
I actually just went through this yesterday I upgraded to the note 3 through easy pay and was switched to the framily plan the advantage of the framily plan is dependent on how many people you have on a line it goes down 5 dollar increments every person you add starting at 55 dollars plus 10 for 3 gig of data or 20 for unlimited the lowest you can pay is 20 dollars per line plus data if you have 5 people which is a GREAT deal BUT if your like me with only 1-2 people then there is not point in changing and if you have a discount it's is now applied to the data plan rather than the whole plan so you get less taken off HOWEVER this is such a new plan there is MASS confusion among sprint everyone will tell you something different I actually upgraded with easy pay switched to framily in the store and then called customer service and switched back to my everything data 450 that I was grandfathered into since 2009 some will say you can switch it and some will say you can't depends who you talk to*

Yeah. I agree that there's a lot of confusion about it. It does seem like it is only really worth it if you either don't want to upgrade phones with a discount OR you have a lot of ppl to join right off.

I converted my current contract to a FRAMILY and went from $151 a month after taxes to $130 since I have 2 lines and only kept mine on unlimited data. Wife uses under 500MB a month.
I then posted my Framily code and last 4 of my number on Fatwallet, Slickdeals and Framilycodes.com and had 10 people under my account within 12 hours and now have a bill of $70 per month plus taxes.
You can locate Framily codes on Ebay and craigslist as well for free.
I am expecting most people to stay for at least 2 years due to the fact that most people will finance their new equipment for 2 years and must pay it off immediately if they cancel service. Sort of an ETF if you will. I expect more service to go this route. All your MNVO's and T-Mobile use this model of paying for your own equipment non subsidized like the rest of the globe.
If you must swap phones regularly then you could swap every 6 months if you desire and recover some of your phone value on Swappa and buy your next device. The math does come out cheaper for many people.
I got this response from @sprintCare on twitter:
If you currently receive an NVP discount of any kind, if you convert to Framily that discount only applies to data.
Previously, on one NVP discount could be applied to a shared account. Since they are now discounting only the data of the user that gets the discount I have asked if each Framily user could apply an NVP discount. When they respond I will update this thread.

Best Buy's better than Verizon's 32GB Pixel (not XL) deal $240+get $100 BB egift card

Update: as of earlier today Best Buy was out of Silver and you could only order the Black one if you had a Best Buy location within 250 miles of a zip code you entered so that you could physically pick the phone up. i.e. They weren't offering shipping them any longer.
Speculation: Best Buy is dumping their remaining inventory of all regular Pixels (they only carry the 32GB models) and they they already sold all the ones in their warehouses.
Thanks to @xdabbeb for making me aware of this.
I bought two.
You may have to retry website buttons multiple times to get the deal to work if their website is still being slammed. Also even when it says sold out on Slickdeals, you can still order it. This morning when I ordered mine, the get by date was Dec 6th for silver and 7th for black.
In my case I also had to order one at a time and the second one I had to use incognito mode in Chrome even though I upgraded a different line on the same Verizon account and both times I logged into the same Best Buy account.
I attribute all site weirdness to the Black Friday internet traffic.
$9.99 /mo. for 24 months
without having to pay the full monthly price and waiting for credit. Less than $240 total.

@45Wheelgun I saw your post in the other thread but this deal is so good I wanted to make sure it wasn't buried.

Kevin - could you contact me via PM or email? I had a couple of questions I wanted to ask you concerning this deal. We are both in Columbus and I would value your insight.
Deleted.
In addition to this already great deal - for Cyber Monday (Sunday?) BB is now offering a $100 BB Gift Card on top of the $240 Price. Making your total cost $140 Make me wish I had waited.

I just found that out too, wow! Me too, but oh well, one of mine has already shipped. I could cancel the other since it hasn't shipped and do the deal but there's a chance Verizon wouldn't consider me able to upgrade that line, at least for a day or so.
Can you really buy the Google Pixel, cancel with Verizon and use it with T-Mobile without having to deal with Verizon legal (early termination fees, etc) ?
Read a few comments in the thread. There are people that say "No problem", others say "Check the fine print, they will make you pay the full price".
This deal makes sense for Verizon if people open a new account/line and stay for 2 years. But in this case it is how the ol' phone subsidization model look in 2016.
I doubt that Verizon has left room to buy the phone, cancel the line and bring it to another network without charging fees and screwing your credit.
Edit:
Here you go: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/ver...at748301462624.c?id=pcmcat748301462624&rdct=n
Activation/Upgrade Fees
Activation Fee: $40/line.
Upgrade Fee: $40/device.
Early Termination Fees
The early termination fee is up to $175, or up to $350 if your contract term results from your purchase of an advanced device (e.g., a smartphone).
There's no contract if you pay the phone off, it's not a two year contract, it's merely a contract to pay $9.99 a month for 24 months and once you pay it off, that's fulfilled. If you're creating a new line to get the phone, then whatever costs Verizon imposes to create the line, if any, in addition the activation fee which would happen for a new or existing line (Verizon seems to sometimes call the activation fee an upgrade fee lately) would be the only thing additional besides the tax for your overall cost.
I believe it was @45Wheelgun in the other thread who said he paid the phones off as soon as they shipped.
It *shouldn't* be any problem, but I don't believe anything until I see it for myself, and I might try it and see what happens to get a third one this time with the $100 gift card deal, but not sure yet.
FYI, my "upgrade fee" was $20 per phone, and the same "upgrade fee" was referred to as "activation fee" elsewhere, so I believe they're one in the same, although Verizon is less than transparent about this and has caused me confusion before. I'm on the most recently available Verizon Plan.
@45Wheelgun references this walkthrough for how to do it:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=92290907&postcount=1562
His original post is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69793678&postcount=45
And "Proof", which is pretty convincing but in the end is merely "strong evidence": https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=92266531&postcount=1419
I just tried to add a line, all looked good, of course it said there would be a $20 a month smartphone access charge on the new line but once I paid the phone off I'd be able to cancel the line. However, the main Pixel page on Best Buy's site says 1) Silver isn't available at all and 2) Black "Shipping:Not Available". I went through the process as far as I could take it anyway and indeed it won't let me do the final checkout without selecting a store, but it tells me there are no stores within 250 miles to pick one up at, so it seems we're at an impasse, and basically maybe Best Buy is trying to dump what little remains of local Pixel stock, wherever they are.
Same issue here. Currently in CA visiting family but also checked my zip code in Portland, OR. No stores within 250 miles.
Also stopped by the local Best Buy and they had no Pixels in stock.

My friend who was the one who made me aware of both the original and the new deal said that this morning it said he could still pick one up locally but that now they're just not available. I checked a few zip codes I was familiar with as well just out of curiosity.
so If I find it in store, sign up for a new account, pay first month, pay off device, can I then use it with my T-Mobile line?
There are no early termination fees if you pick the 24 month Device Payment Plan (DPP). You will have three choices to purchase the phone:
DPP: 9.99/month 24 months
Contract: $199.99 + 24Month Verizon Service Contract
Outright purchase: $650
Any text you see about contracts or ETFs are in reference to the Contract option and have nothing to do with the DPP option. When you get to the purchase agreement you will see it states you are paying the "full price" of $239.76 for the phone and that is the installment agreement you are "signing". In that contract it clearly states there are no penalties for paying it off early. Only penalties it speaks of are if you DON"T pay your installments on time.
DPP is nothing but a 24 Month 0 Interest load. Think 24 months same as cash with the purchase price being $239.76 +TAX
I purchased 2 on Thursday as 2 separate transactions, one as an upgrade and the other as "add a line". Billed for Sales tax on $239.76 (~$17) As soon as they shipped on Friday I paid them off. That immediately restored my "upgrade" account and I will not need to "add a line" as the phones have been paid in full. I received an Email from Verizon notifying me that my DPP contracts were "Paid in Full" and Closed.
My phones will be delivered tomorrow. There has been no change in my plan, all discounts and extras accrued over the years as still in place. I'm unclear at this point if I will need to activate them. If so there will be a $20 activation fee. I'll know sometime tomorrow.
I went back today when I saw the additional $100 and was able to walk through the entire process as an "upgrade" so as far as my account is concerned "it never happened". I even had Verizon offer me $330+ to use it as a trade in!
I do not think you will have any problems if you just add a line but if you create a new account they may want you to either return the phone, paying the full price for it or $350 EFT.
Whatever... it would not be worth it considering the additional fees.
People were mentioning this after looking at the fine print that you agree on and talking with sale managers.
There is also a hard pull of your credit for a new customer, so I do not want to do that and end up reading in the fine print that I must stay with Verizon for 2yr in order to get the Pixel for $130.
Not sure what to do. Did somebody look at all the things that they ask you to sign or can post screenshots?

Did you look at the link I gave a few posts up (first page I think) with the link to the "proof/evidence" that there will be no ETF if you pay off the phone. I believe it, for what it's worth, but can't take advantage of it any more than I already did since there are no stores within 250 miles of me to pick it up, which is the only option now. I'll add that to the OP when I can.
Yeah... I saw a bunch of posts of that guy, DEEE. He has been active on that thread for 3 days no stop. There are some funny flames He wants to be the "go-to person". He also does everything to shut up who contradicts him. Either he needs some attentions or somebody must pay him to be there and do the promotion.
A few people keep saying "check the contract. It is just $240." but a few others found something off. Check the posts related to this one:
https://slickdeals.net/f/9417827-be...es-100-bb-e-gift-card?p=92444587#post92444587
What I got from that:
- At checkout you sign both DPP and the https://www.verizonwireless.com/legal/notices/customer-agreement/
- The DPP (that is titled "RETAIL INSTALLMENT CONTRACT") says you are subject to the Verizon agreement too. So you need to interpret them together.
- The conclusion seems to be:
1) If you leave Verizon before 14 days then you have to return the phone (or pay full amount for it)
2) If you leave after 14 days you have to pay other $350.
Verizon lawyers are not dumb.
Either somebody that studied law can interpret those contracts and tell me that everything is fine or I will stay out of this deal. It is not $240 vs $250, it is $240 vs $700.
