Hey folks. I'm looking for the rooted Android launcher app which is capable of hiding/overriding/theming all Android UI including the taskbar, notifications and settings panel. Preferably the keyboard too. I plan to dedicatre my old Note 3 (Jasmine ROM 5.0 currently) for use in the total darkness without blinding myself). Any hacking ideas for how that could be achieved without dedicated launcher are welcome too! Or maybe you know a better compatible ROM which might help with that desire?

Hi,
I am currently using CM6 official night build for Hero and I got some questions, if someone's kind enough to answer it
* Why is JIT not enabled by default ? I thought Android 2.2 had JIT stable, why is it not the case in CM6 night build ?
* Will there be a way to {over|under}clock directly in the kernel like the last 2.1 roms are doing, not by using the overclock widget that register on hooks and is much slower to switch frequencies ?
* ADW.Launcher is the default home, why isn't it linked to the market, like the GMap app is (it can be updated but not removed) ? We can install the market ADW.Launcher app but it is not the same app (the settings menu is not at the same place and the previous settings menu still appears in the phone's settings).
* In the Rom Manager app, it is said that I should install the ClockworkMod recovery to use the app. What is it ? Is it as crazy as Kubrick ? Seriously, I am currently using RA-hero-v1.6.2, what is this ClockworkMod, is it better ? Should I install it ?
* I saw that there was a way to skin CM5, changing, for example the color and image of the notification bar, Skins were installable directly with a barcode. Is there such a way in CM6 ?
I hope these are not (too) noob questions, thank you for answering anyway
Seriously, you used the word yourself. You really think development is the area for questions? Next time post in the Q&A section, the hint is in the name... (reported)

Appologies, I didn't pay attention, my bad.
Could a mod move it to the right forum ?
Thread moved to Q&A.
Up ?
Nobody to answer those questions ?
I would suggest posting on their forums as the devs probably don't regularly check XDA.
just out of curiousity i have tried every rom on this forum and would like to know what everyones favorites are out to the 5 major roms?
not to be rude but this belongs in the q&a section
oh crap! whoops i totally forgot about that you are right i posted in wrong section..

Vibrant hybrid r2, ASOP lock screen with ADW launcher.

thanks loved your rom by the way
now if i can get your battery icon and the web broswer that your rom has that actually redirects to my schools login page (eugenes roms wont) and your boot up screen with the "execute" intro on the frankin-twiz than i would have my daily driver lol
Bionix1.2 , seems to be the best for me.
I tried a lot too, and I noticed I liked FrankinTwiz. It's better than the rest.
I'm looking for a way to disable the quick panel. I need to run some screen touch tests and do not want airplane mode and other settings being changed during the testing.
i know for other devices I can use QuickPanel Settings, but I havent seen anything for the Note2 yet.
What are my options? I'm in the process of rooting my Note2.
TIA
Please post in the questions section!!!!

I think he might have meant the toggles at the top of the shade. If that's the case, not yet, but they're working on mods to modify elements such as those.
And I got all excited when I saw the topic count increase thinking maybe our first rom finally came out. Booo... :-/

Thanx
heya good day!
i am working on a project that involves using a android phone as a car dashboard.
it's a huawei p9 lite running android 10 lineageos.
i've modified it's init.rc file to boot the phone instead of showing the charging animation.. (triggering a late init rather than triggering charging animation)
but i've noticed doing a boot like that did increase boot times. the boot animation is a bit laggy until android's proper govenor set's the cpu to proper speeds is what i think..
what can i add to the init.rc to decrease boot times? currently trying to dig into the phone to see what it set's it's cpu speed to so i can trigger that before anything else to give it a little boost.
is there maybe other stuff i can strip and tweak from android itself to decrease boot times?
all i need the phone to do is GPS/BLUETOOTH and then running a singular app in the foreground at all times and macdroid in the background for system brightness and auto shutdown automation.
technically this setup would not need the android UI either. like nav buttons. menu bar. home menu's and all that stuff. (if it's even possible exclude that from load.)
anyone any interesting idea's i could try? thank you in advance for the ideas!
