Hi all,
Following problem:
- Qtek 2020 (or 2020i), combined with a SD-card , TomTom Navigator 5 and own software
1. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, TomTom 5
2. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, own software
3. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, TomTom 5 and own software ONLY WHEN THE SD-card is slow (less then 40x)
We tested much different SD-card with different chipsets and only the real slow cardtypes work. The problem is that those cards aren't available anymore on the market, so we are looking for a solution to slow-down the SD I/O speed to the card.
How can this be done in Windows Mobile 2003 (se)??
Thanks for any solution or tricks to solve this problem!
Sam

I have an iPAQ 3660 with a pcmcia/battery sleeve. The sleeve works perfectly with pc card modems, network cards etc, also when using a pcmcia to cf adaptor I am able to plug in cf memory cards, all no problem. I bought a pc card type 2 ata flash storage of 1024megabyte by Kingston technology. Part number DP-ATA/1024. Now this is claimed as an ata compliant device and when I plug it into my laptop it is seen right away and formats to the correct size. However when I plug it into the ipaq sleeve, I get nothing, no recognition, no prompt for a driver and not visible in the system. I downloaded a program called cardprobe, this program actually was able to interrogate the card and give me all the info. I thought there must me a problem with the ata driver and so I downloaded a copy of atadisk.dll for microdrives, as soon as I copied this to the windows directory the card was seen, but only HALF the memory, exactly 50%. Can anybody throw any light on this. I have tried the original 1.77 rom, the wm2002 rom and also the upgrades and none can deal with this card until I use the microdrive dll which is modified from the original. I would like to use all the memory. :?:
Hello guys, I tried to upgrade on my XDA ( Qtek 1010 ) from Pocket PC 2002 to 2003 for some reason it installed but on the boot up of 2003 it just stops and doesn't go farther.
I'm trying to flash it and I got one problem, I cannot put the wallaby patch on my MMC card with XDAarit.
I wanted to know, do you have to use SD card for that because only SD can contain keys ( Headers ) ?
If yes I hope I get an SD card tomorrow and hopefully fix it.
since the kaiser has the same cpu as the niki i tried this modified WM5Storage for the Kaiser : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349143&page=5&highlight=WM5torag
but it doesn't work on the niki, i get lots of io errors..
did anyone suceed with wm5storage or is there no solution ?
Nop, as I said in my post in Niki section, neither wm5torage or Card Export II are working... lots of IO errors, unable to umount the device (on my linux box). Maybe it's because I've an SDHC sandisk 4Go....
So, I can't connect my dual to my linux box (I have to take an SD card adapter in order to be able to do some files transferts).
if someone has the solution....
(PS : On the wm5torage website 'modaco', the maintener said that it depends of the device, depends of drivers...)
See my previous post here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355724
the 4GB sdhc is not the problem, i have a normal 2GB SD card...
so the only hope is that softsic releases an update to enable cardexport on the niki
I have card export v3.12 and its working for me since v3.7
I just have problems when the trials stop working after a month, but that is another issue...
wm5torage doesnt work on my niki, but card export II works so well
hi is there any working patch/driver. ive seen several drivers but none seem to work..sorry just noob with stuff like this..im using WM 6.1 by shekkar. wont detect but wont detect my 8 GB card..tnx
SDHC has different hardware. No software patch can overcome it.
no one?
what a challenging problem! No one could ever solve it. It think I'm going to sell my 8GB sdhc card.
Hi Friends,
I read all the posts may be 20-30 times before I was finally able to install a Custom Rom on my Mozart. I am currently running the WP 7.8 Mozart Deepshining v6.0 on my Mozart.
Things that I had to prepare
1. Y Cable
2. 2 Micro SD cards (2 GB Kingston and 4 GB TrendMicro)
3. The WP 7.8 Mozart Deepshining v6.0 ROM
4. Active Sync for Windows 7
5. Laptop - I am running Windows 8
6. Card Reader - 2 of them
The steps I followed are the same on how to flash the customer rom on Mozart however I wanted to share the errors I made and how I was finally able to install the ROM
Y - Cable
For almost 2-3 hours struggled with the Y Cable as I did not attach the cables in the right way. So please ensure you look and look and look and look at the diagram to be sure that you have the right cables connected to each other.
SD Card
* At first started using an SD card however it just didn't work and then finally bought 2 Micro SD cards
* the 2 GB didn't work so got a 4 GB card and formatted it
* I tried various allocation unit size however what worked for me was 8192 bytes with FAT 32 (default), doesn't matter if you format it or quick format it. Worked both ways but only when I chose 8192 bytes and
Active Sync
* Tried installing it multiple times before realizing that I have to install it as an "administrator"
After multiple tries, multiple combination of formatting the SD cards it worked like a charm.
So all the best guys, I know the GoldCard method works 100% but there are lot of dependency on the Micro SD card and the card reader. If you are having challenges even after
1. Ensuring you have the Y cables connected in the right way
2. Active Sync installed as an Administrator
3. Phone in the USB mode
then the only reason you are not able to install it because of the Micro SD cards and / or the card reader. Here are few errors I faced
Error #1 : Got stuck on Loading for ever..............
Error #2 : Got into a rebooting mode, phone boots to the USB mode, then showed Loading and then rebooted again in the USB mode, endlessly
however finally when I had the 4 GB card formatted it worked like a charm. All the best guys and hope I was able to help. Please let me know if you guys are still facing challenges, I am sure collectively we can do it.
Cheers !!!!
Amber.
