I'm from Germany and I have the following problem:
I wanted to flash a WM6-Rom onto my SDA 2 / HTC Hurricane.
I did everything that was described in the tutorial but at one point I have got a problem:
When it comes to opening mtty, I can't flash the Rom.
It says:
Download Fails !!!
OEMFlashWrite error(12)
Error : DownloadImage return error (code = 0xFFFFFFFF)

What to do now?
I have absolutely no idea.
And I would be very glad if somebody could help me to get ANY Rom onto my device.
I'm kind of frustrated right now.

4- do you writing commands in mtty yourself? or copy/past? (copying doesn't work)

1- I used the cert.cab. I think this is application unlocking
2- yes I did by using SPV-Services
3- I don't know, but I used PatchedRuu.exe (I think this is that)
4- yes I write them myself
I'll try in a few minutes and post the log if it doesn't work.
But don't hesitate to post any suggestions or information.

I think I know where the problem is:
I can't get into the bootloader correctly.
When the phone asks me if I want a IU (0) and I press the Zero-Button on the phone, nothing happens.
What to do now?
you must trying to success. maybes SPL was upgrade incorrect, go to bootloader and try to upgrade SPL by patched ruu again
I tried this so often but I don't give up!

wrong RUU!!! RUU from above will KILL your Hurricane!!
Above RUU will kill your Hurricane because it for Typhoon.
BTW: I had "CMD55 failed" error when using bad USB-cable... trying another cable made it disappear.

here is what I've done and what happened:
my ROM was HTC 1.18.255.3 07/22/06 with bootloader 1.04 then I ran "HERM_Unlock_v2a.exe" on the device but I didn't use "HTC_Hermes_Radio_for_SIMunlock_v1.16.00.69" to save time and i wanted a CID unlock only.
after "SUCCESS!" message from "HERM_Unlock_v2a.exe", I connected my device via USB to PC and started to upgrade to Cingular 1.31.502.1 08/30/06 with aku 2.6 and bootloader 1.06 but when I get the "ID ERROR",without disconnecting the USB, I switched back to ugrading to previous ROM HTC 1.18.255.3 and the Processe started with no problem untill 98%, then suddenly upgading interrupted a message came saying connection error or somting like that!
since then my device is stuck on windows mobile screen and I've tested solutions in the "Hermes_Upgrade Problems" page and tried using the "Hermes SD Card flashing" method, But It seems impossible to flash my phone agian.

I think Pof is away until 3rd december, I have the similiar problems with my second hermes, if you have then use mtty to see if you have an corrupted cid using info 2.
Do you have the original rom to go back on if so that will fix your problem.
I've used mtty to send some commands to my device and it answers to some of them but It just stop responding when I type "info 2" or "info 3".

Wrong, you also need a patched radio to CID unlock. Running only the exe file without the patched radio has no effect on the unit.

Please attach usb monitor capture when trying to flash a ROM and a radio ROM. Otherwise can't help you.

uuh... there must be something really wrong with it, no response to bootloader commands. If no sd card flashing is possible, I would suggest you to send it to service centre too.

It's a difficult option for me, as I should send it to a foreign country to service center,so are you sure there is no way like erasing somewhere using mtty?

I have same exactly problem on my spv m3100: since sept06 I've tried every kind of Unlock software,upgrade ROM and method found in xda..In mtty bootloader (spl 1.04) respond at every command but not "info 2","info 3" and "task 32".Sd card method works but if you try to upgrade other ROM,in your screen "loading..." and then "checking..." hangs on because the ROM upgrade must to match CID (I suppose..).I'll wait the next ROM Upgrade and ORANGE won't release it until gen07..

it seems your problem is like mine if so, I don't think ANY normal upgrade can solve your prolem 'cause it can't connect to it.
so don't wait and send your device to service center, if you can.
I'm in your same conditions:there's no repair center here so I have to wait Orange who release a upgrade Rom (I hope asap..).
I flashed HardSPL 2.30olipro and it wont boot the OS when I reset, the screen stays black like its still off and the green light at the top stays on, I can still access the bootloader and use MTTY, I have tried flashing various ROMs and the "set 14 0" but nothing works, At the moment I have :

SPL-2.30.Olipro
Anyone have any ideas?
Well, it appears you can get to mtty...
Try Task 28 (this usually works when stuck in boot screen - not sure exactly where you are stuck)
or...
Try flashing a new ROM.

I'm stuck as soon as I turn it on, blank screen like its still off and green light at the top is on the whole time, but not when i go to the bootloader.

My problem of noot being able to see any splashes and not being able to turn on for that matter is weird, Who knows a way that I can erase all of the phone totally except for the bits that cant be likle the SPL and IPL, Is there any way possible to flash someones dumped rom, and use the wlan fixing method to set yourself a new Mac adress etc.
In the memory map it says the Radio and bootloader are at "0x????????" does anyone know whats under the mysterious question marks?

It wont actually let me write over it because it has that protection on it to stop roms overwriting it with an older version, would it work (and be safe) to delete the SPL using the erase command then reset the hermes and write the SPL again?

The SPL area is touchy. If you were to erase the Bootloader, I am not sure you would ever be able to flash anything, since it uses bootloader commands to do it. Check the MrVanx downgrade guides. There are instructions for overwriting the latest HardSPL. It is a two step process, first using SSPL. Give it a shot.

Anyone got a resolution to this problem yet?
Heres whats happening:
When I turn on the device I get the green led light but nothing shows on the screen at all, I can still access the boot loader the normal way.
- Tried Task 28
- Can flash any ROM but doesn't fix issue at all
- Happened after i updated to HardSPL 2.30, but cant downgrade because I need access to the OS to use SSPL.

don't know if this will work for you, but it did for me. the difference is that mine wasn't hardspl.
I had the same problem when i was trying to upgrade to WM6 a friends JasJam (i had a USB connection problem). i tried alot of flashing, and the only one that seemed to work for me was the Official I-Mate ROM i got from this thread:

after flashing this, i loaded the hardspl v7 from this one.

and after that, flashing any ROM works perfectly.

Not sure if I can be of much help but I had the exact same problem after a flash, then just booted into the bootloader and loaded a ROM from my MiniSD card (CRCs Rom) and that seemed to fix my problem. I also have HardSPL 2.30 installed

Now, i try to back to ATH100 but i cant. With PC and RomUtility, i get MODEL ID 244 error.
With SDCard i get 00058002 error while Loading...

This is good for both corrupt modelid and corrupt wifi, and fixes both at the same time.
STEP BY STEP:
1. download attachment at the end of the post for mac1.exe (requires .net 2.0 installed on the PC)
2. you will also need to download the other attachment in this post for the mtty program.
3. enter bootloader (tricolour screen) manually by pressing and holding camera button all the way in (yes I mean that, press it in as hard as you can!!), while doing a reset, then keep the camera button held until you see the tricolour screen.
4. disable USB in activesync (wmdc if you have vista - in this case, do not kill wmdc, just disable usb in it!!!)
5. run mtty and select USB option from the dropdown box!
6. then press enter in main window that comes up, see if that gives you Cmd>
7. now you should have Cmd>, if not, re-check if you did the above steps right until you get Cmd>
8. now run the mac1.exe, type in your MAC address you want to use for the Athena, if you have SPL 3.xx reported on the tricolour screen, then use the button for SPL 3.xx, otherwise if you have SPL 1.xx reported, use button for 1.xx.
9. this should have generated a .bin file for you, copy that bin file in the folder of mtty.
10. now, in mtty, type (do not copypaste!) this command: task 32
11. this should return Level = 0
12. now, you must only do one of the two following commands:
- if you have SPL 3.xx, then type (do not copypaste!!) this command: lnb filename.bin 76508000
(there filename is the name of the .bin file you generated - don't forget to put .bin after filename, as the full name is needed).
- OR, if you have SPL 1.xx, then the command is different (do not copypaste!!): lnbs filename.bin 75108000
(there filename is the name of the .bin file you generated - don't forget to put .bin after filename, as the full name is needed).
NOTE, the command starts with a lowercase "L", not "I"!
WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT MIX UP THESE TWO DIFFERENT COMMANDS!!!
if this info helps: most people will have SPL 3.xx, and if you have AP4 (not vanilla) already running then you're definitely 3.xx
13. mtty will popup a window asking "OK", you press OK!
if you get "Fail to synchronize with the host (1)", then make sure you did follow step by step. if still same error, try placing mtty and the bin file under C:\.
14. now the file downloads, if mtty reports it flashed the file, and at the end "code entrypoint unknown", then that's it, now boot back to WM and see if wifi works.

One of these error messages will appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device. Make sure you use the appropriate RUU tool to upgrade.
stuck in bootloader. Help needed.
I have a HTC Athena x7500.
accidentally upgraded my htc x7500 WITH SSPL-Manual-x7510.zip of HTC X7510
Wend I turn on the device, it goes directly to bootloader and
the screen is:
ATHE 100
IPL - v1.00
ATHE 100
SPL-v3.05.0000 OR my old spl is 1.10.0000
I have tried to change the language of my athena and then he died :spanish > fransh
USB (wend is to connect)
series (wend is unconnectable).
I can not turn the unit off by pressing the button, but must take
the battery.
I have tried with hardspl its not working
I want a solution in the forum xda-develop it says my q must upgrade to the rom of espana oficial
After downloading the rom:Advantage_HTC_SPA_2.21.412.1_1.50.00.00_Ship
I tried to upgrade to this rom May j has a mesage on my athena screen:
found spl v1.10
dowload Spl before v3.05 is not allowed!
I tried to update it with the sd card i have the same mesage
upgrade with athenaUnlucker not work
upgrade with hardspl v7 not work
upgrade with CheetahUnlocker not work
upgrade with athena wraper not work
I have explored ruu_signeg.nbh in spanish rom with notepad jai entered the signer spl 1.10 I know if is sure or not
I believe there is a problem in the image rom saved in my athena rom
what I see on the screen of my athena is the spl 3.05.0000
The real spl is 1.10.0000 there is confusion in my spl
with mtty : task 32 level=ff
is what I can fix this problem with mtty
so if possible please guide me

I think there is another thread somewhere about this but you could try the incorrect ID fix in the post above
and try to do the lower SPL
Just tryed to update my Nike Rom. Now my Nike is stuck in Bootloader Mode.
It displays:
NIKI100
SPL-1.22 hard
CPLD-4
Flash stops at 73%. Please help me!!!

All the time error 262. tried several rom's - error 262 (stops at 89%, 98%). tired official rom - same.(stop at 73%). Tired flash with sd card-same
In bootloader it displays:
NIKI100
SPL-1.22.Hard
CPLD-4
Upgrade ROM code error. Please try again.

Ignore the lower bits of that post, just grab a copy for MTTY and type 'boot' see if there is enough info on he ROM to boot he device, then try again

Tired other rom. yes!! 100%, but stuck in first bootscreen.
brothers, how to back up original spl from bootloader?
Many times I happened to cook ROM that do not work (especially with the 6.5 in Italian) but is not a problem!
probably yuor Hrdspl is not ok, try to flash it again and then flash the official rom

• power off yuor niki (Remove for a couple of seconds the battery)
• press and hold power and camera buttons,you must have (tree color) bootloader
• connect usb cable
• run ROMUpdateUtility.exe (or Nike CustomRUU.exe) in a folther with hardspl-1.22-nike.nbh

Don't you need an SPL Jump running to upgrade the SPL? But, if you can't get into an OS you can't run the jump exe.
You need to find a really old ROM hat only requires the HardSPL you have then flash that. Or try an official one? Or have you already tried that
