Flashing splash screen
Hi
I have used SplashScreen Changer to create an .nb file according to the instructions. However during the process it created a RunUpdateUtility and associated flashing files. Including an RUU_signed.nbh file which contains my .nb file.
My question is this, is it safe to continue to run this updater to flash my bootscreen, even though the picture in the utility shows a Herald?
One step further
I used RIE from the first post to create an RUU_signed.nbh file containg just splashscreen and logo. Can I use any ROMUpdateUtility from another rom to flash this to my phone without affecting the rest of the rom? Such as using an official HTC rom and just replacing the .nbh file? (I have QTek RUU_STAR100_3.6.251.0_02.67.30_QtekEUR_Ship official rom downloaded)
I am currently using this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373099
Sorry about these similar posts but I am new to editing/creating rom files and don't want to kill my phone.
Change logo on outer display
How I customize the logo on outer display? All tools that I found creates nb files to change the boot splash(320x240), not the small splash (128x128) on other display.
Change the logo on other display easily
Answering my own question: using the total commander (http://www.google.com.br/search?q=total+commander) I replace the LogoImg.bmp, found in windows folder, with a custom logo that I made (with 29,3KB). Did a soft reset and BINGO, the image was changed.
Easy, easy, easy!

I tried this and it only changes the outer screen once the phone has booted. It doesn't replace the HTC Inovation logo that appears on the outer screen as the phone boots. It just displays whenever the phone is open (depending on outer display preferences, I rather keep the time and status bars instead of an image).

Today I installed 3des.3.5 and then went back to Black Pro 3.0.1. Now I'm confused, because the device shows both 3des and BlackPro Spash screens at startup.
I re-installed BlackPro + hardreseted, and still the same happens at reboot.
Can someone with BlackPro confirm whether it is right to have both the splash screens at startup or what..?
Thanks.

PDA have two splash screens, first (flashed) and next from windows directory (some welcome95.png or something like this).
3des have both splash.
Black 3.0 and 3.0.1 have only second splash screen. (then your first splash leave untouched)
Actually there are 3 Splash screens:
1) MainSplash
2) SubSplash
3) welcomehead.96.png
MainSplash & SubSplash are .nb files, generally both are the same and just contain the operator's logo; welcomehead.96.png is part of the OS rom and is the windows mobile splash screen in non-cooked roms.
Many thanks for these inputs!
So no big issue here I suppose. I mean nothings really wrong here apart from the "disagreement" to still have 3des' as a 1st splash, or..?

There is no disagreement here. You will continue to see the 3des splash because JJ did not overwrite it. POF listed each splash. If you want to get rid of 3des splash then compile your own splash screens.
Right! Feeling better now, hu!

As newbie in Touch2 Mega need your help to flash it
I am trying to flash my MEGA with cooked ROM. Here is the step i took :
1. Using HardSPL by Jocky2001
2. Restart the phone and boot normally
3. using RomUpdate Utility with ROM Image inside (nbh file) i run the romupdateutility.exe.
4. My phone rebooted in to green red and blue screen
5. on the phone : loading... then back to coloured screen..
6. on my computer (win 7) and phone, there is a bar with 0%.
In this step i wait 20 minute and nothing happened... the bar still in 0%.
Did i miss something ?
Thanks for ur help.
it seems you make all right.
Check if you have hardspl correctly installed... Boot in tricolor (hold volume down button and red telefon) and check if you have there SPL-1.28.Hard
i have seen lot of guys popping up with errors specially on window 7.

What ROM do you have? Mines 1.29.176.2 (67024) and I was told that I couldnt do HSPL!
I had same thing
Exactly the same sticking on 0%
I reinstalled Hard SPL and this time it showed the 1.28 version (even though first install said it was ok? - ruinning windows 7).
Then updated the ROM and worked fine.
Hi all,
Thanks for your suggestion, i tried once again, i got error as in the picture.
Using PHM Registry : DWORD 000101B already set to 1 and reboot the device
I tried boot in 3 colour screnn.. the SPL Still 1.28.0000 not 1.28.HARD.
I have Mega Asian WWE from Singapore.
btw, i tried another technique to flash it using SD Card, but the result the same... loading without any progress
Seem the HardSPL didn't work with my MEGA.
SPL 1.28.66092
Any Suggestion ?
Found the Solution
Thanks CRISSO73
I found the solution in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649780&page=34
Using a little bit modification on the bat file and registry, now i got 1.28.HARD
Thanks all
Hello everyone.
My HD2 hangs with white screen (htc central and written in red lettering below left) and remains so.
I tried them all (task29 - soft reset - restore the original ROM from SD) but nothing worked.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Don´t know, what´s going wrong. If you have done task29, you can go into bootloader mode and connect your HD2 to your PC. If you read USB, you can flash a ROM over PC. I prefer an energy rom, which is running fast and is offered in many languages. If you have done task29, i think the drivers of the sd card weren´t loaded, so you can´t flash a rom from there.
Bootloader Mode: Remove your accu, then mount it in it´s place. Press the Vol Down button, hold it, press short the right Button under the screen (power) and leave it, hold the Vol Down button, until a three colored screen appears. This is the bootloader. There stands Serial. If you connect it tothe PC, there must stand USB. Now you can flash a rom of your choice by double click on the RUU.exe file.

How much more expressive in the title can one get? put Grrrrr behind the title?
I think you mean explain yourself a bit better in the title.
[/OFFTOPIC]
As to the problem:
We need more specifics:
Can you enter bootloader(not eplicitly mentioned).
Does your computer see your phone?
which version (H)SPL is presented on the bootloader screen?
Which ROM do you want to flash?
Is CustomRUU running?
Is CustomRUU hanging / crashing / finishing? [if so where, which %-age?]
Have you removed SIM and microSD cards?
Please post the sequence of steps and their "exit state [ie successfull / not successfull]"
When do you notice the [problem?
Now I installed the original SPL 1.42.0000 and the original ROM from SD, but the device does not start. remains with white screen and red lettering at the bottom left.
I tried 4 or 5 different ROMs, I tried several soluioni.
I think the only way is to restore the BIOS in some way, but I do not know how.
throw it in da wheelie bin

mi tg01 got stuck yesterday...not really stuck but i could not slide the unlock...i tried a reset...nothing...after that i tried the pin method with the sd card but after the install i got stuck at ALIGN SCREEN(could not click on the cross to align and it kept moving by itself - it was like it had a mind of its own)...and the i tried the pin method with the downloader but after the download was complete, at the align screen still got the same problem. all the rom install atempts were made with the original 6.5rom and another try with some custom roms.
can unbrick it somehow or he drew his last breath?

Nokser, shut up if you don't have anything useable to say. And post editing won't help you since history is available.
@topic:
Check if your touch screen is okay, no 'oil stain' or something.
Anyway, you can connect your tg01 to PC when on align screen, go to \Windows\StartUp and remove welcome.lnk, then reboot, your phone won't start alignment but your screen will be totally incorrect in touch.

And if you then run the attached .cab it will set the alignment to a very high level of sensitivity which I hope you will find better than previously experienced....
View attachment ScreenCal.cab
There is more discussion about this in the original thread....
You may find it helpful to flash to a known good ROM (see Pere's Master Table for ideas on which have what characteristics - WM6.5 Titanium, Sense UI, Mobile Shell or the several WM6.5.3 or 6.5.5 variants).
Best regards,
Kevin
Hi,
I had the same problem.
It turned out that the digitizer is broken.
I bought one from ebay ~ 7 pounds and replaced it
Now it works fine.
BR
i deleted welcome.lnk now it started, entered the orange interface but i can`t install the sensitivity cab that kevin gave me....the sensitivity on my phone is gone nuts now, can`t access the folders using the phone so i can install the cab...is there another way to install the cab without pulling my hair out in the process?))
try MyMobiler while connected via ActiveSync
as is stated in the title, i edited an apk, framework-res to be precise using winrar, without extracting ( i just added a new res folder and removed the former one , without changing the names of any of the images ) and using rootexplorer, replaced the original framework-res.apk, immediately my phone restarted and has been in a boot-loop eversince.
to compound the problem, when trying to see if the cwm recovery for another phone with the same chipset as my phone could work, i mistakenly deleted my recovery, and the usb debuggging was off when the phone began bootlooping. i can only boot into fastboot mode, the phone is a tecno t3 ( not popular i know ) but every help will be appreciated.
insulting me wont help, so please only constructive answers. and i promise to ht thanks for every constructive answer. thanks in advance.

You can still do a task 29, which erases the clk or magldr, reinstall those, and install recovery in that sequence, then of course you can flash a new ROM
did you get out of the boot loop. am willing to help stay in touch

Hey wen you edit the framework-res.apk be carefull unless you know wat you are doing. I prefer you send me the copy of framework-res.apk and i lll try to correct any mistake done on it. Framework res hold resources to be used by the whole system. Like even the Android keyboard need some resources to oparate. All icons you see on Android are are stored in framework res. Eg the battery status icons, network state icon, data connectivity icons. Zoom icons. Power off dialog icon etc. Each resource is marked by an identifyer. Eg 0x9898ed5
So if you edit it and the resource missmatch happens. Thats a boot loop
Sent from my TECNO N3S
Fixed
