Dear All,
I have a Imate Smartflip that hangs at the Windows Splash screen when you boot it. Can you preform a hard reset on this phone and reload the O/S? Or do I have to send it for repair?
Thanks,
Hugh

1. Download your official ROM, if you don't have it, from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400183
* Save the ROM to your desktop or something...
2. TURN OFF your phone, PRESS and HOLD the camera key and the record key, while holding both keys CONNECT your phone to the computer via USB. The Phone should go to bootloader.
3. When the Phone is in bootloader, Execute the Official ROM that you have downloaded. And follow the onscreen instructions.
4. Read through the forum and do a search. A lot of threads has already discussed this...
5. Hope this helps.

I am trying to flash with SSK 1.5 and i already successfully followed the instructions on how to unlock the phone using Hard SPL specifically for the verizon version. Now... i cannot enter bootloader mode at all which means i cannot flash the device.
Also, as a side note... would i need to flash a new radio if i flash a new ROM like SSK 1.5?
once you have unlocked your device you do not need to enter bootloader mode to flash a custom Rom. follow this to the T.
1. Establish active sync connection (this is the most important step).
2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh into the RUU folder.
3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps on screen to flash ROM.
4. Once the phone reboots, go through Windows Mobile setup and let it finish.
5. Perform a hard reset (hold power, volume down, and center d-pad).
6. Complete the Windows Mobile setup and start using your new ROM!
Help: Please
I have tried all the instructions, but the problem is when in goes into bootlader(it does it automaticaly), the pc doesnt see the phone. I tried the USB to PC, unchecked & still doesnt work. Im really fustrated, as I have been trying to do this for at least 6 hours. Help me get the PC to see the phone in bootload. Thanks

Quick ROM install:
Rename the NBH to: RAPHIMG.nbh
Copy to SD card root.
Manually enter bootloader:
Hold Volume Down, Power Button and soft reset. HOLD all 3 until Boot Loader flashes on.
It will say push Power button to start flash, do it and you're golden...
I was having some issues flashin' from my work laptop the other week, so I started doin' this. Nice thing too is can flash different rom's without ever needing to be connected to my PC.
Enjoy!
Dear All:
I bricked my device unfortunately. I am trying to go to bootloader mode but it's not working. I pressed down simultaneously the botton right below the volume down botton and the opposite botton. While both bottons pressed, I powered on the device.
However unfortunatley, it's not working. Please advise the propoer bootloader sequence for HTC Startrek / imate smartflip.
Note I can not use jumpSPL simply because the device is brick and not booting

Thank you, it worked like a charm, however unfortunatley there is no luck.
Let me start by saying that I am trying to install your ROM, so I am delighted that you have personally answered me.
It went to bootloader mode, then after checking the image it returned saying Invalid Certificate.
Then I launched RomUpdateUtility from my laptop to try to install the ROM, it starts writing the ROM, then at 4%, the mobile restarts, and the upgrade utility displays Image Corrupted.
I tried to bring a different (WM6.1 SLIM found somewhere here in this forum) and copied the file to the memory, but received the same "invalid certificate" error.
May I ask you to please suggest a resolution for this problem? thanking you.
Sincerely yours.
Samer.
Hamdullilah it works.
I figured that if the rom is having a certificate error with the device then I should be able to return to the original rom.
so I went to ftp.clubimate.com and downloaded the original rom and install it, so it did successfully.
then I restarted the upgrade process only this time I did NOT do the same mistake again (not restarting after SDA Unlock) and i got my mobile running now like a sharm on Pampooh rom.
Thanks Pampooh, you are a saver.
Have a great day.
Samer.
Congratulations. Although I would suggest that you use the ROSE release since it uses less memory and is a bit faster than the NEO release. If you do decide to use the ROSE rom, try out PointUI Home2, it looks great. I have the download link in my 1.05b ROSE thread. Good day to you too.
true, but I used a WM6.1 slim version for a long time so it's time to change. The Neo interface is amazing and i dont really care about size, If needed, I could always use the external micro SD for storage.
I think NEO rom is fabulous, you should try it

i installed a new rings rom. it worked fine, then my phone froze up, now it won load pass the opening page. it just says analyzing device component..... and its frozen there. please help, i run my company thru my phone and its very important...
what type of phone do you have? if its a G1 as i have then its easy to un-brick or un-lock...just plug your phone to your PC and format your sdcard again which will erase all of its data then ya good to go or you can remove the battery place it back then hold down your home plus power button at the same time till youir phone boots to the next screen then press alt+L then altW then reboot your phone and sign back in...
if this is a post about the g1 take it to the other forum because this is about the hermes
its a herm 100. htc 8525
have you tried to do a hard reset? If not give that a try.
I hope you installed Hard SPL V3 on it first... to check - hold power, OK button above the flywheel and reset with stylus, hold in until the tri-colour screen appears. Will show IPL - 1.04 and SPL - 2.10oli (if you've installed hard SPL V7).
If so, and you tried to Hard Reset 1st with no success, try the sd card method. If thats not working, on the pc, if using XP, go to activesync's connection settings and untick "Allow USB Connections". Connect your Hermes to the pc with usb after going to bootloader. Run the RUU_Wrapper.exe file again. This should re-install the rom.
You're gonna have a heap of trouble if you haven't Hard SPLed your Hermes.
Good Luck....
I dont have hard spl v3 on my phone. when i try to load another rom or anything i get error 270 the image file is corrupted. please check your update utility. what does that mean? and how can i work thru that?
Hi.
Just tryed to inst. Android in my HD2 and now it stuck with a white screen with the HTC logo.
Is it any way to fix this or do i just trach it?
I am not an expert but this happened to me once while installing SD android.
I reinstalled the original ROM from the HTC site and restored my phone to factory settings.
I tried another version of android and it worked well (since last September).
Only observation is that lately (last two month) my phone hangs a lot on both systems (droid & win) and overheats a lot and when this happens I need to wait for it to cool down (at least 20 minutes) then it accepts rebooting (I am stating this although I am not sure is it from the droid or just my HW is faulty for other reasons).
I hope this helps
I tryed a NAND install. Now I cant get conection with usb and computer
Maybe you can perform a hard reset with buttons
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
I hope it works

As long as you can get to bootloader its ok
I would start over from the begining.....
Does it still show that you have HSPL installed on bootloader?
If so, reflash the windows 6.5 ROM that you were using before the android flash.
Then follow the steps in this thread.
Hope that helps....

Thnx I'll try it later and report back
Still cant get my coputer to connect to the phone.
I get to the "red green and blue" screen, and it says
PB01100 HX-BC
SPL-2.00.HSPL 8G XE
0x85
CotullaHSPL 0x40
I'm on win7 SP1
Ok when you enter bootloader (red green blue screen) you should see "Serial" at the bottom..
When you connect to the computer it should change to "USB"
You might not see anything happen on your computer but the word at the bottom of the bootloader should change.
I might be mistaken here but Im pretty sure you need "2.08 HSPL" although your bootloader shows you have HSPL installed its not 2.08. This might be the cause of your original problem.
Once it says "USB" your ready to flash a ROM via USB as usual...
If it stays on "Serial" after a few minutes then try another USB port or computer if possible.
Enter bootloader and run the HSPL tool and choose 2.08HSPL......
Then start the process from the beggining.
Hope that helps.

Hah your a babe conantroutman lol thnx
Is this the rigth SPL ?
Not to intrude on conantroutman here but yes you have to have HSPL 2.08 and a 2.15.50.14 or 2.10.50.02 radio for MAGLDR to work. Without the HSPL 2.08 you can not flash MAGLDR and without the proper radio version MAGLDR will not even boot up.
So to answer your question yes the HSPL you have in the picture you posted is the correct HSPL.
Yep as T said, hspl is good, radio is good. Your all set.
That guide for installing android at the top of the thread is pretty damn good and will have you up and running in no time. Let us know how you get on
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
thnx to both of you. I'll post here when done
Crap my call button dont work when I'm in bootloader
When your in the MAGLDR menu?
You may have to flash WM again to test the call button. Or try reflashing MAGLDR, that may help...
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
I guesse it's a lost case so I just installed winmo and runing android from SD card
thnx for the help.
btw!
is there a way to get htc sense to work on a huawei u8800 or x5?
Hmmm its very weird because if your call button works in WM then it should work in MAGLDR....
My Toto tv lap one netbook boots to the Toto icon with the message: Boot into recovery mode. I forgot the password so I used Android Device Manager to wipe and reset to factory defaults. Now I'm stuck at the icon screen. I tried the recommended procedure to boot into recovery mode: Press reset button, unplug power cord, continue pressing reset button and replug power cord. Nothing changes. In the comments section of the one blog with the reset procedure. a lot of people wrote in that the procedure didn't work. No one has replied with another option. The netbook is a year old and worked fine, as I wrote, I just forgot the password. The problem, as I see it, is: I need to find a way to discover the proper procedure to boot into recovery mode or perhaps there is some software out there that would let me reinstall the os. I'm open to any suggestions. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and for any advice you may have. Thank you.
i can help you
