I have a jasjam
i was upgrading it using the telstra WM6 rom.
during the upgrade it was around 15% that the upgrade utility show the error that device cannot connect.
my device is bricked now
IT is not KITL enabled
it the first splash screen it shows no gsm
it only shows the bootloader menu
IPL 1.04
SPL 2.03
i read the wiki on how to unbrick a bricked hermes but there is no sulotion
plzzzzzzzz

Did you also read the wiki to see how to install hardspl to protect your device BEFORE flashing ?(here: http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=27 )? Are you using Olipro hardspl?
Try to use the SDCARD method (Format a sdcard in FAT32. Copy the nbh file on it and rename it HERMIMG.NBH. Insert the card and HR : OK/POWER/Soft reset. Follow the instructions)

Try solution to reeboot ( sometimes helps)
1. get out SIM and SD card
get mtty http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=9864
2. Make BL mode on Hermes
2a on PC ActiveSync - coonection properties untick allow to connect by USB
3. start mtty on PC , choose USB and enter.
4. next enter.
5. type set 14 and enter
6. type task 8 and enter
OS have to boot if no go to 7
7. enter
8 type set 16 and enter
9. type task 8 and enter
Hope that will boot

Pretty much all the info on unbricking is in this table by Pof. If this doesn't sort you out then you're have to send it off to imeicheck etc for repair.
The history so far
I have bricked my jasjam while updating to telstra wm6
I have not super CID my device before upgrading to telstra wm6
Now my device freezed at second splash screen

NO GSM
when i used the info 6 command on mtty it says NO CID
i can not upgrade my device from SD CARD (memory stick)
i used these command on MTTY.exe but no improvement

when i tried to rom upgrade using any ruu (ruuwraper,.....) it only shows 1% and my device reboots and ....
any suggestions????
I hope you understand this, Basically if
1. You have a "No GSM"
2. Your CID is corrupted
3. Your OS has no KITL mode
4. You didn't use HARDSPL...
Then your phone is screwed, and you need to buy a new one or send it to repair.
Hope you have better luck with your next phone. (you seem to be collecting bricked phones!)

That's the BIGGEST mistake u ever made with ur Jasjam, bro
try to send to repair centre, if repair cost is too much. Than u have to decide try but new gadget. Kaiser looks flirt to me

The offical I-mate telstra Jasjam rom for WM6 came out recently previous to that i just kept the original WM5 rom that it came with much to the dismay of my peers, actually considered it a few times but decided against it till the official rom came out.
yeah if you follow the instructions for the WM6 rom you use it should be ok however the "Murphys law" of programming tends to suggest there will always be an error that they dont allow for.

This has NOTHING to do with only using official Roms! One has pretty much the same chance of bricking their phone evening using an official WM6 as a cooked variant from Schaps et al..
Simply put if you don't use HardSPL then you're asking for trouble no matter what the ROM. You should also use the MicroSD wherever possible as it is much more reliable.

You might need to reflash it. Hold the two soft keys and then push the reset button. it will ask to hard reset. If the phone fails to come on after the hard reset, then hold the left 'ok' key and the power button, and then push the reset under the phone- this will take you to a tricolor screen where you can then re-flash the phone. try reflashing with official rom's, before using any other roms.
yes i do but it still in boot any sugest ipl 1.01 spl 1.40 olipro if any know how to update ipl with hard spl or how to remove hard spl it will be aprecible
My suggestion would be to try using sd to reflash the rom and see if that orks. format sd card making sure its fat 32 then put .nbh file in root directory. rename to herimg.nbh then insert into phone. go to bootloader and it should start the flash straight away. if this works make sure you upgrade spl to olipro 2.10 hard spl so its easier if there are problems. you can possibly upgrade spl this way too (get nbh file and rename hermimg.nbh). I tried this on my herme 100 and it seemed to work. it will flash the spl BUT when it restarts it will go straight to bootloader and start flashing again. as soon as it restarts get the sd card out and put on the os you want to flash. insert card and as long as you've named it hermimg.nbh it should flash new os with spl olipro 2.10. Good luck flashing.

just stop trying any unauthorised ideas. let me know if i can help u. i have a friend in o2 service centre here in india. he can get ur device working. he does it by help of a software and 3 cables . it takes about 2 hrs. just let me know if u want ur device to work again

1st of all, have you gone to read the Wiki as suggested?
2nd what methods have you tried to unbrick your device?
If you can't answer these questions then we can not help you, you keep asking for suggestions but you do not even reply to other's questions!

I have an T-Mobile Ameo (also known Athena X7500) and i tried the Olipro Unlocker, but the installation didnt finish, at 59% stopped. After that i turn off the device, then turn on, but my device still have a 4 colour screen,red, green, blue and white, it doesnt boot the Windows Mobile, just have the installation screen...
please help
Use olipro's tool again and then flash your final ROM
i tried it many times, but since than my Athena X7500 was dead, the Olipros unlocker doesnt work. The program said: "The Update Utility cannot connect your PDA phone"
In bootloader (coloured screen), does it say anything? if so what? when you try to flash a rom or use unlocker do you get a code? is your memory card out of the slot?

Have you tried flashing your carrier's original Rom?
i will try it, but i dont know where can i find my original rom...
and my second biggest trouble: in this mode, i cant charge my batteries. If i dont find an solution this problem soon, i think, my device will be a BIG trouble. Grrr, i hate olipros program...

But the Olipros Unlockert isnt working, the installation go to 100%, the program said that the flashing is succesfull, but my SPL is still 1.1, and i cant flash any roms..

Some others have reported better luck with the shipped WM6 rom if they had trouble unlocking.

the net framework should be on your computer.
what OS is on your computer ?
May be better if you use winXP
did you install an oficial wm6 rom ?

My computer also have the NET Framework 2.0 SP2. And when the flashing didn't work, i also installed the NET Framework 3.5 SP1, but, when i flashing a ROM in my decive, it also went to 100%, but the SPL is still 1.1.
I use a 32-bit Windows XP in my computer.
My T-Mobile Ameo (Athena) is a second hand device, it was used when i bought. But the first user said me, that the original OS was the Windows Mobile 5 in my Athena, but he update from Windows Mobile 5 to Windows Mobile 6.0. He said that he update with an official T-Mobile way.

I saw someone with the same problem as you here awhile back and he was able to fix it. So keep your post alive or read the sticky post under the Upgrade section. I believe that was where I read it.

Hey Im also a sufferer of a dead X7500......this all happened wen I was trying to flash my ROM which was using a SPL !.20 OLIPRO
wen I try to re flash the device , it starts a stops at 1% and follows an error msg !

It's currently running Windows Mobile 5 w/ default just about everything.

Anyway, onto my problem.
I'm using the Hard SPL upgrade files found in Olipro's thread.
I run it and it works up until I select "Yes" on my device.
It then reboots into the bootloader and just sits there and does nothing until finally the installer throws an error 260.
Anyone else had this problem?
Is there a simple fix?
If it makes any difference, I've got a Mini-SD card in it. 512mb.
Go to the Hard SPL thread, page 116, post 1160. It tells you (and gives all apps needed) how to install using the SD card... Gets rid of those pesky sync problems.
You can use the sad card method to upgrade your os too, just drop the steps using sspl.exe....

Well I flashed maybe 30 HTC Tytn PDA`s (I work in service) and never bricked any... I never putted cooked roms,bcs this roms are stupid.And a lot of cooked roms use much more ram and many of them have simple appcliations,which you can to install alone... So,my advice for peoples : Use official Win Mobile 6 rom from HTC ftp server.You can find links in this forum also...And yeah I dont need HARD SPL for official... never bricked.
Depends slaki85 if the Hermes has been Branded... For example, I have the Telstra rom on my Jasjam, if I tried to put the HTC official rom onto it, I'd have a brick... The carrier rom prevents me putting any other rom on it other than theirs.... And it ALWAYS has a heap of bloatware.
You also can't put wm6.5 on...
Hard SPL allows me to put other roms, cooke or official, that I can't put on without ending up with a brick.
As for the guys who can't put Hard SPL on, use the sd card method as I said before. Its easier, means there's less chance of a brick and takes 2 secs...

Yeah,you are in right with 6.5 WinMo...I really tryed before Win 6.5,and expect few visual changes,he dont have anything new..With 6.5 or 6.5 + Manilla-TouchFLo,TyTN is very slow...what to say about ram memory...sometimes and 15 MB more busy...I understand that peoples always will put new rooms,I only dont understand why peoples risk...Expect if some win dont have some big changes.byw if someone want to put official HTC 6.0 rom,I tryed many times with 100% sucess in HTC TyTN and SPV M3100 (also TyTN but from postpaid Operators)..
I also agree that is HARD SPL good sometimes.I only dont understand why peoples change roms... : P especially custom roms...(few apps more and speed,ram slower...).But probablly I am subjective : )
Again, if you have a carrier rom they tend to overload it with bloatware, software and apps that use their sites. It tends to slow down the hermes and, truth be told, I've started with less than 15Mb ram using the stock rom... When you have that happen, cooked roms are a much better alternative. Also, if you use the apps cooked in it means you don't have to hunt down the cabs yourself....

My herm 200 ,swisscom, has IPL1.01 and SPL 1.4Olipro. But always when I try to install Hardspl v7 it give me error 262 and only 0%.
Can someoone help me what to do because I want to flash new rom and new radio rom trough my SD card.

i would suggest reading this wiki page which might help you with that error. A recent thread that had a error with flashing hard spl here may help you although it is for a different error, you may still get some ideas on how to fix it.

I did read everything but with no success. always error 262. I have Win XP SP3 with framework 3.5 but I dont think that would be a problem for this error.
Have you tried putting the Free HTC Hermes SIM & CID unlocker on your hermes as this may be the problem or have you tried flashing it using the sd card method.
Go to page 116, post 1160 of this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 . It will tell you how and supply ALL the apps so you can use the sd card... Easier and safer...
