I very rarely use MMS on my Himalaya, but I still like the feature to be there in case someone else sends me one. I recently received such a message from a friend, and was unable to download it. I am using O2 UK.
Now in the past, I have managed to send and receive MMS on the device, and have not since changed any settings relating to the service. However, when I now open the new MMS and click on the 'Download' button, the device connects to the WAP network, the 'MMS Receiving' icon appears at the top of the screen, and then promptly disappears. The message does not download, and simply allows me to press the 'Download' button again.
Have O2 changed the MMS service in some way during the past few months that would prevent me from receiving messages? I can still send them without problems, but receiving is another matter entirely.
I have tried reinstalling ArcSoft MMS, and reconfiguring the MMS server settings, but nothing I do seems to help.
Does anyone have any ideas, as I'm going crazy trying to figure this out...
Just for reference, here are my settings.

I guess I'm the only one having a problem... :?
Hello all,
Picked up an unlocked version of the S740 from ebay, very nice
I have managed to get internet and email etc working but can't for the life of me get MMS to work. I do have the settings but it seems a bit more complex on a WM phone then I'm used to.
Just wondering if any other T-Mobile users of this device have got MMS to work, and if they have can you help me out?
Thanks.
I've managed to do this, so hope this helps.
1) Open Settings from the Start Menu
2) Choose, 0 More, 0 More, 5 MMS Setting
3) Select Menu (the right-sided action button thingy), 1 MMSC Settings
4) Menu, New, Give it a name (TMobile MMS is a good suggestion)
5) MMSC URL: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
6) WAP Gateway: 149.254.201.135
7) Port: 8080
8) Connect via: The Internet
9) Max sending size: 300K
10) WAP Version: 2.0
11) Done (left-hand thingy button)
12) Set as default
13) Enjoy sending pictures responsibly
Good luck,
Smudge.
IT WORKS!!!!!
Haha many thanks mate, they were the last settings I needed to complete the phones set-up.
Cheers.
No probs. And YAY!
Finally got a custom ROM on my phone, NFSFANs, and I must say I really like it, but for some reason I am unable to MMS. I looked through all the places i thought would be obvious settings, but i cant find anything
anyone else experience this?
same issue
i have been haveing the same issue on my touch pro, i dont see were to fix it when i try to send it starts to then says unable to send does any one know of a fix for this, i am useing Energy.HERMAN.23518.StandardM2.5_27.
use this
use this cab, it appears that messaging is still not ready for the new 2011 builds...
This will disable the HTC Messaging and take you back to the winmo messaging.
You also need the second cab to take your phone back to what sense2.1 used and it should work...
There is also a third file attached, that one you install by itself, you have to go to the "all messages" then you have to go to the menu>options>settings and put your settings.
Search on it a little more, If I find the full information again I will let you know. I read on it last night and got my wifes touch pro2 to mms again so this should work for you too...
Maybesz?
I beleive this may be what your after, these settings are carrier specfic in order to get MMS working
HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\MM1 Default Setting Cricket MMS and Change WAP default Port 1&2 to 8080 and WAP Default Time Out to 10000

Under UI\Domain http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Under UI\SizeLimit WAP1RecvLimit 1,2,3 set everything on that page (12 settings in all) 1024000 (this is part of your 1000K send and receive limit)
HKLM /software/arcsoft mms ua/config/UI
find EnableServerEdit and change it from 0 to 1
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings Where it says Connections, Delete that entire string Hold down stylus on Connections circle it and delete it, This is what keeps the MMS from sending. Bad thing is every time you open explorer it re-writes this registry. To solve that many of us have just used something else besides Explorer. Like Opera, Firefox Mobile or Skyfire.
You can still use these browsers without writing the Connections Value. If you don’t want to use anything but Explorer, you are going to have to go into this registry file and delete the Connections string every time to send MMS or until someone comes up with a registry hack to Auto delete this value every time you close IE …Close Regedit.
Now go to your messages and click menu/MMS options and then click server and click add new. Add new or if you already have one called something else just click it and click edit...you need to change these settings to
Server Name Cricket
Gateway leave blank
Port Number 8080
Server address http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via Cricket MMS
Sending limit (should be 1024000 if you changed these settings correctly in regedit)
Wap version Wap 2.0 (Wap 2.0 should be pre selected, if it is don’t touch it. If it keeps reverting back to 1.2 when you click close? Go back into regedit and select WapType 1 as mentioned previously, this forces it into WAP 2.0 without it MMS won’t work.) Now if you have more than 1 select the cricket one you just configured and hit set as default then go back to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\MM1\MMSCSetting\Cricket MMS and delete the other configuration, when you go back into settings CricKet should be the only one there and it should be default.
Start\Settings\Connections\Connections Under the General Tab Enter Cricket. Under the Modem Tab put in Cricket Mobile Web select modem to cellular line. Click next put in #777 to dial to Cricket, click next… User Name: [email protected] Password: cricket Domain: Leave Blank, click finish…under proxy settings, check these 2 boxes (this network connects to the internet, and this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet) Proxy Server: wap.mycricket.com click advanced. The only thing with a value should be HTTP wap.mycricket.com:8080 the rest blank. Click ok and ok again, this ok should bring you back to the connections screen at the bottom click advanced. Click select networks. Under both drop downs select Cricket. Click Ok Go into Exceptions Click add new URL for each of the following settings you are going to need to click add new url again, these don’t all go under one “Add new URL” Block
*mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
*.mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
*mycricket.com/

Here is an interesting development... I flashed CyanogenMod 10 on my Sony Xperia arc S phone and the ROM downloaded some settings by itself. There are 3 APNs that comes with this ROM.
1. ATT
2. ATT LTE
3. StraightTalk ATT
StraightTalk was picked by default. I was about to delete them all and enter the settings from here but then I received a text message from a friend... Lo and behold, it was a MMS message with a pic attached and already downloaded. I saw that my WiFi was on, so I turned off the WiFi and asked my friend to send me more pics... They all arrived including a video snippet.... Then I sent one, a larger pic, and he received it. All amazed I fired up the CM10's browser and went to www.testmy.net Did a smarttest and my download was 3.4 Mbps and upload was 577 Kbps... In Phoenix, AZ...
Here are the settings that came with CM10 ...
Name: StraightTalk ATT
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMSC proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: Not set
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled (tick mark checked but grayed out anyways)
Bearer: Unspecified
Does this make any sense now?
That's the settings I use for straight talk, works great. I get 4g just about everywhere here in pa. Mms works great too. I've had straight talk for a year and a half on at&t. Can't complain. If you use alot of cell data they will throttle you slow, but I'm usually close to wifi. I've heard 2GB then they slow you down.

I'm getting 1.3Mbps down and 657 Kbps up. Pretty happy with it.
To the last poster, I thought Straight Talk didn't offer LTE coverage?! If it did, it'd be an even more amazing deal than I had thought it was!
My data works fine. Got like 6mbps this morn but my MMS wont send for ****. Using an Xperia Ion
Pantech Pocket ATT - Straight Talk MMS Settings
The Pantech Pocket needs to have the Straight Talk APN data loaded to TWO locations.
Both Phone APN and Wap APN need to be setup with the Straight Talk APN settings.
Straight Talk makes it sound like you only need to enter the information in one location.
You need to enter the information in Phone APN and Wap APN, if you want MMS to work!
APN name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: Straight Talk value
Port: 80
MMSC: Straight Talk value
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
My Pantech Pocket is running flawlessly on Straight Talk now. MMS is 100% functional. The pictures are getting through. I'm getting 5Mbps download speed and 1Mbps upload speed.
My Pantech burst uses only one apn. On gingerbread and ice cream sandwich. I don't run proxy but the rest of the settings I put in and works good. Seems faster tried it. 40kbps proxy vs 4000kbps no proxy. Not sure why. Any ideas?

HOLY SH!T!!!
I just put in the settings Bushmaster78FS posted and I am now on TRUE 4G with ST. 6Mbps!!! ITS FASTER THAN MY WORKS WIFI BY 3X!!!
AMAZING!!! THANKS BUSHMASTER!
Nice
Thanks for the settings you posted Bushmaster.
The settings provided are the first ones I have used and successfully got both data and mms working with only one APN.
Using Samsung Galaxy S III.
1. My phone is unocked and compatible on both AT&T networks and T-Mobile right now i am using an blue AT&T sim and i am thinking to make the move to T-Mobile network. Do you think i can use the same AT&T compatible sim and just change the APN setting to T-Mobile and have it work on the T-Mobile network or so i have to buy a sim?
2. I heard that you can get a free sim by buying a free phone and just using it on your phone but other people say that those sims are lock to those phones. Which is true?
3. I see that Straight talk sells cheap GSM phones and my GF has her phone on T-Mobile so can i buy one of the ST phones and swap it to use on T-Mobile or are the locked and can they be unlocked?
I just switched from the default straight talk apn to the ones bushmaster posted. I went from 1 mbps to 4.8 on a Nexus 4.

I have a unlocked AT&T Pantech Breeze 3 with a Straight Talk sim in it. Am unable to access the web. All my settings still go to AT&T.
Does anyone know the correct APN settings?
I have to go 3 places to do the setups.

There I can enter Profile Name: MMSC: Connection Type: Proxy Address:& Proxy Port.

# 2 My Stuff > Applications > Browser > Manage > Profiles
Profile Name : Home URL: Connection Type : Proxy Address: Proxy Port
# 3 Settings > Network Connectivity > Connection Name > APN : Primary & secondary DNS : Linger Time : Authentication: Username :
Password
Does anyone know the correct values that I need to put in here in order to get my phone to go to the web.
I ha ve voice mail, can call and text. Just not access the web. Can anyone help me here?:

anyone try these settings on S2 i9100 and see speed gains?
APN set, no data.
Hey gang, I've looked far-and-wide and haven't been able to locate a solution so, I throw myself on y'all's mercy and ask if anyone has a clue why I can't receive wireless data on my SGT AT&T GT-P1000.
I received my AT&T Straight Talk SIM the other day and porting the phone over was no issue. However, when I set up the APN I did not immediately reboot the phone due to some confusion about when the service actually transferred. Could this have affected my registration on the ST wireless network?
I've entered the APN settings precisely but, alas, still cannot connect to the wireless data. I really want to move over to ST, not only will it save me $30 a month whilst adding an "unlimited" data plan but, best of all, I'll get to tell AT&T to go pound sand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
did you add in the " http://"?
Does anybody now any way to unthrotte. Since we all now that ST throttle after 5gb. I called to ST customers service, they told me that unlimited data is only for navigation.

Hi all,
I know there are a few different APN settings for the three network in the UK, could anyone post here what they have or have adjusted On theirs?
Background info.... until April I had an old note4, that I used for tethering my iPad etc too that three couldn't monitor how much tethering I did on it. Unfortunately it died and I bought the S8 in April.... newer software etc meant that three could now monitor the amount and stopped me at 4gb (despite my offering to pay more or change to a newer contract that offers up to 30gb tether they said no).
Desperately searched the internet and found a thread that someone put their 'adjusted' APN setting on.... tried it and success unlimited tether.
Last week a repair at phone store and they accidentally wiped all my settings!!!! I'm gutted now as I forgot to write them down and am unable to find the APN settings again.
So any settings/advice/tips appreciated (feelfred to message if preferred)
Thanks
