New Radio
DCD do you see any difference with this radio as far as the loud tones that come up with call waiting? and is there any difference on GPS?

Anything need to be done with the A-key or other numbers in EPST? And... look at you... teasing us with dcd 3.2.6.... What's up with that? LOL
Upgraded radio rom did not need to get a new A key and I am sitting in a concrete room with no windows and am picking up 4 satellites off the HTC GPS tool, will continue to test the gps and see it I continue to get a good to great signal. So far am impressed with this radio much faster gps lock than with 3.42.30. Thanks dcd....
I am picking up 4 to 5 satellites with the GPS tool within 5 to 10 seconds. I think I will stay with this radio for awhile.....
Just to relate to the difference with these 2 radio roms 3.42.30 and 3.42.50, with the .30 rom I could never pickup a satellite in my concrete bunker for an office but am picking up and locking onto 4 to 5 satellites within seconds on the .50 rom...

I figured that being I already had a GPS radio on it that this wouldn't change anything. Thanks. Loading as I type.
Edit: I cannot even get Google Maps to Initialize GPS now. I have the same settings as before. I will try to switch it to 911... then to location on... and see what that does.
I had BAF's GPSToggle on... turned it off... and Google Maps "Initialize GPS" does go away now. But... it still is taking forever (more than a minute) to get any syncs
Edit: Ok... ON a fresh boot. Shutting the phone off and turning it back on... It takes more than a minute to initialize the GPS. Once this is done. I can turn the Toggle off... / Exit Google Maps... and the next time I start either application... it locks in seconds.
I can't test very well in my building, but I see that ephemeris data is rolling and it sees some information. Seems typical so far but I will report back.
Good news for another issue though, I did test and found out that the call waiting thing (annoying sound) didn't happen after flashing this radio. I had 3.42.30 loaded this morning and got the sound. I flashed to 3.42.50 and it didn't happen just now. Not sure if this is coincidence but good anyways.
I have never gotten that call waiting sound in all the time I've used 3.42.30.
finally
I finally went and got a 2gb Micro-SD card from Fry's yesterday. Flashed from SD card and took like 2 minutes. Way better than USB!
Thanks for the Radio DCD!

Nitro, you didn't have to use SPL 1.20 for this one when flashing via USB?
I'm just waiting for some more reviews about the GPS before I upgrade. Anyone else try this out?

Nope. i updated to 2.40 from the stock 1.04 like the Wiki said. Then went to the radio 3.42.30 after the Hard_SPL update.
As far as going to 3.42.50... I just did the SD card way since I have a non SDHC card now.

I couldn't do .30 via USB, and can't do .50 either. The RUU utility runs, gets to 8%, a red light flashes on my phone, and it reboots.
To update the radio via USB, I *think* you need to go back to 1.20. Don't quote me on that though, because my memory sucks. I'm to old to be hacking phones!

That's exactly what I was trying to figure out. I flash everything with microsd so I'm not about to test it. Was waiting for someone who flashes via USB to test it.
Just a note to everyone reading this, if you follow those wiki instructions and flash via USB, you need to use TitanUnlocker first to install SPL 1.20, flash the radio, then reinstall SPL 2.40. Same as Radio 3.42.30 USB installation.

It was tricky getting the Software to recognize the phone without activesync. But... I followed the Titan Recent wiki. And did have 2.40 on the phone when I did the Radio update.

I remember now.... I had to wait until someone put out the .30 exe to install via USB. Don't know why, but that method worked for .30 for me. Guess I'll have to wait until someone makes the exe again, for .50
I think I've flashed SOMETHING on my phone once a week or more for about 6 months straight now.
Taken from Alltel ROM: HTC PPC6800 WM6.1 / LBS Update – Version 3.52.671.9
http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=63&cat=2&dl_id=114
Before anyone asks WHY I am posting this, I am posting it because I have been unable to find this myself, as only having seen the 3.42.50 radio ported over from the Vogue.
So once more, this is an OFFICIAL radio for the Titan version 3.42.50, which was released with the Alltel PPC6800 update v3.52.671.9
Downloads moved to: http://www.4shared.com/dir/13348483/9d4d857d/sharing.html
file is named Titan_Radio_ROM_3.42.50-Alltel.exe
Any questions, or comments are welcome.
Interesting find, thanks. Do you see any difference with this radio?
I haven't really noticed much of a difference.
Everything works as it should, and where I'm at, I always have full signal strength, so I'm not a good person to be judging this.
Hopefully someone else can let you know.
Also, post your results here.
Edit: I am seeing 6~8 satellites with the GPS, which was an improvement, but I'm not using the PDE servers as it requires data and I'm not using a data plan.

I'm curious will this radio work for Sprint? DCD has posted all the radios for the Titan but I'm not sure if his was a port from Vogue or not.

It will work fine on Sprint. I'm running it on Verizon.
When I say Alltel, it was stripped from the Alltel ROM, but it is compatible for all Titan devices.
DCD's release was ported over from the Vogue device, and hence the only reason why I'm releasing this official one, as this one was MADE for the Titan.
It is indeed radio 3.42.50, I forgot to change it in the NBH file, but it won't affect anything.
I've been running it on Sprint after getting it from the Alltel stock ROM flash. Works just fine. No issues.

Radios are not carrier specific, only device specific... this will work with any carrier who has the titan.
do i have to use SD card to flash this radio? i have spl 2.40 and it didnt work for me.
You can use SD card. Just unzip the file in first link to root of SD card. Some times it take few tries to go into bootloader for it to find the file.

Make sure it's no more than 2 gb and isn't an hcsd card, won't work otherwise

Ahhhh.... yeah, cause the version is the only thing that worried me. DCD's 3.42.50 has been terrible for me so I wanted to make sure. I'll flash now and see. Thanks for pulling that radio out of Alltel!
I upgraded to this rom... had problems getting to to load.. but once I did..... it installed...
now I dont have a data plan so I really havent seen any benefit to the new radio... Although today I had 9/9 sats... and carried it into work.... and got to my desk and still had 4/9 sats.... THAT IS IMPRESSIVE FOR ME!!!!!
I usually loose signal inside work...
now on the startup time.. with no data plan and no towers to bank off of... usually it takes 1-3 minutes to sync.... but today it took about 10 seconds!!!! not sure what the difference is so far but I like it...
now im reading up on the roms... I see a lite version.... OOOOHHHHHH ME LIKES!!!!
GPS problems
Hey
I'm using this 3.42.50 radio with scrosler's ROM(see sig). I'm having trouble locking in GPS satelites using Google maps. I'm on sprint and can't do the GPS fix. Is there anything else I can do to increase my satelite locking ability?
The RUU keeps telling me that I can't use this update utility with this device.
Do I need to downgrade existing radio somehow first?
I've been using DCD's 2.42.50 radio for several months now on my Alltel Titan (also running his 3.3.4 ROM w/Manilla 2D). Never had any problem with it at all. Worked perfectly for me from day one. GPS working flawlessly with it, I see no need to "update"...

If you are flashing thru RUU on a 3.x radio, you have to downgrade the SPL to I believe (double check before trying) to 1.2, however it is much easier and much preferred to flash via SD card for more accurate flashing. Any time you flash via cable you take that chance of the cable coming loose, PC losing power, etc. Any of which could brick the phone. Roms are safer to flash via cable since you don't have to downgrade/upgrade to do it. And can usually be recovered from by just reflashing. I know from experience as this happened to me. Not so sure about the radio since it provides so much function for the phone.
I recommend going and picking up a 512mb or 1gb card, they are dirt cheap and provide a safer flashing option.

First....read the tutorial about flashing ROMs!
Second....read again the tutorial and learn about compatible Radio ROMs!
And before flashing use the HSPL2. Its more flexible and from your post I think you didnt HSPL-ed first.
After reading them again....download a custom ROM and try to use a radio containing 2.0x.50.xx . Try 2.08.50.05!

2. Get one radio from here http://www.vbnfiles.com/xda/HTC HD2 (Leo)/Radios/ Try to use 2.08.50.05! Flash Radio ROM
3.Get one custom ROM from here http://hotfile.com/dl/38594525/8225204/Energy.Leo.21899.Sense2.5.Cookie.HomeTab.Apr.18.7z.html 21899 version will work better for you
P.S. Always try to flash when you are in bootloader mode! Dont Flash when phone is already in use!

Try HSPL with a 1.48 rom+ radio 2.08.50.02
Again:
1) Run HSPL, when it gets 100% and your phone screen is black, just press volume down button until you enter the 3- color screen.
2) Unzip this and run the file named Task29 (the radio 2.08.50.02 is included) and again, when the screen goes black, press volume down until the 3-color screen and
3) Choose a custom rom base 2.10 (it's important that you use a 2.10 base rom only), like NRGZ, Xannytech, RTT, LIA Glass series, Touch X-Trem, etc. Flash the rom, and you should appear in your thread again only to thank everybody, although you don't have to because as a community, we help members (I personaly take it as a duty).

Second thread from the top, when you're in HD2 Rom Development, in other words [HSPL/HSPL2] HowTo flash everything . I guarantee you, you can't miss it!
I'm not responsible if you brick your phone!
I have to write it because I have the feeling that you don't collect enough information before flashing and only ask for a fast way, which may end in a bricked phone. We gave you advice on how to do it, but just do the way we did: READ READ READ and yeah, READ AGAIN. Ask others, they'll tell you the same: you never have enough information!

ok guys, I have honestly read a s*#t load of threads regarding the installation of this ROM.
I cannot make sense of all the back and forth.
Is it possible to get an idiots simple step by step guide?
I have a Telstra branded HD2, and have 1.72 WWE ROM, with HSPL3, SPL-2.08.
What do I need to do to install the new 3.14 WWE ROM, so I do NOT get the 50Mb RAM issues? Do I need to downgrade first, flash HSPL, SPL etc etc.
Thank you in advance. I hope I can get it sorted.

You can't install a Telstra branded Stock rom (there isn't yet one) without using HSPL.
But using HSPL on this particular Stock rom will means you will only get +/- 50mb of program memory.
I am not after a Telstra ROM.
I have installed Official 1.72 WWE ROM, but it has the Chinese integration. Although the ROM is ok for now.
I want to upgrade to non Telstra, Official 3.14 WWE ROM, need to knwo what SPL/HSPL I need for the RAM to work.

Interesting.
I'm in the same boat: I'm using Hong Kong (HKSCL_WWE) 1.72.831.1 ROM with HSPL3 (2.08) on a Telstra branded HD2. I was looking at upgrading the 3.14 WWE but I was a bit unsure.
So you are saying I should either:
*. Wait for a Telstra 3.14 ROM update <- not that I would anyway, for Telstra ROM's are bloated.
or
*. Wait for a new version of HSPL which supports 3.03 SPL?
yeah, if you don't will be stock on +/- 50Mb of program memory you need to wait fore a compatible HSPL version who match with the integrated SPL 3.03!

Maybe I wasn't clear the first time, but you can't upgrade a stock rom to a Telstra branded device without using HSPL (HSPL 3 2.08) But this means you only have +/- 50Mb of free program memory left.
Thanks for the clarification.
The sad part is that it does not appear to be any development in a new HSPL at the moment.
I flashed the WWE version.
Initially Bricked the phone, just like most people did. I had to reFlash using a 1.43 stock ROM to recover it.
Then, after extracting the EXE file i used CustomRUU to reflash 3.14, so no radio and no SPL flash. I got the 448MB RAM, and a super smooth rom experience. My SPL is 1.6.
I managed to upgrade the radio to 2.09.51.03_2 and still have the 448MB RAM.
Hope this helps.

if the telstra rom comes before hspl you can use that to get spl3 and then use SSPL to flash the wwe or 3.x based cooked roms, so no need for the telstra bloat.
(at least i assume SSPL will do it,, i've not seen it confirmed, but it's the first thing i'll try when o2 spits a 3.x rom out.)

the title of this thread sounded perfect and it started off really well but seems to have died a death.
I consider my self to be a reasonably intelligent person and computer literate. i am a vb.net programmer and oracle programmer. i bought a stock hd2, installed hspl 2.08 and have been doing every artemdes rom release since.
this new rom has me totally stumped though.
i understand i need to install the new spl and if i dont the phone will quickly resart, fail and generally mess up because i am using hspl 2.08 with a new rom (3.14) that needs the new spl 3.03. i understand that.
I understand i need to flash the rom from a memory card to get the hspl over written.
i downloaded the rom, renamed it leoimg.nbh and put the rom on the root of a freshly formatted sd card and booted into the bootloader and got nothing. prob because of my 16gb mem card. okay i got that one.
so what now are my options?
1) stick with hspl 2.08 and atemedes rom 37
2) wait for a hspl okay with 3.03 (does not look like its happening)
3) buy a new memory card and boot from that via the leo img track and hope for the best?
4) try to install hspl 2.08 again, tell it to install spl 1.66 and then install the new rom via usb?
am i correct in those? also, what happens with the radio, do i have to have a specific one installed before the flash or will the flash install the correct radio as well?

Using HSPL in combination of Stock Rom 3.14 gives you limitation of program memory; bad reception, and also bad reception on WiFi.
The problem about bad reception isn't in all case, but limitation of free program memory is alway's there!
so remove your HSPL!
Rom locked O2 regular hd2, 1.66.hspl, 3.14 wwe rom extracted from the .exe, flashed using customruu.
As documented all over, flash the 3.14 rom onto a phone without spl3 and you show a much reduced Program memory. (RAM) Around 50MB free, running stock.
So i had decided to ignore 3.14 till hspl caught up,. or O2 released a rom, but boredom overcame me and i figured I'd have a look.
My main finding, and i was surprised I hadn't read it yet, was that flashing a ..51.. radio sorts out the free ram issue.
Yes you are down to 448 total ram, but the free ram is no longer 50 mb, around 160 - 180(sorry forgot to write it down,). Lose 128 meg to gain 128 meg, fair enough.
Reception and general connectivity seemed OK, but i didn't really put it under any real tests. wifi on, a few short test calls.(update, , forget that, i've flashed around 20 times tonight, playing with various combinations of 3.14 roms and spls and radios, and about half the time the calls are crackly or silent with a 51 radio, whilst the rest of the time it works fine.)
Anyway, i played with that for a bit, then thought i'd have a play with the rom in a kitchen, see if i couldn't unlock the ram, try the nk.exe from the tmous 3.14, just to see what happened, etcetera, and i ended up staring at a bootloader screen that said ''wrong platform'' on the microP line and it scared me so much i deleted the kitchen completely, went back to my custom 2.13 rom, and i'm not touching 3.14 again till the o2 rom arrives.
FYI
Found a post here about the 3.14 ROM. Seems like if you flash it from the SD card, and then reflash HSPL3, you will be OK......Maybe. FYI

except the sd flash would put spl3 on the phone and so no version of hspl can be put back on since they don't support spl3.
I am confused. Need help , Thanks
Hi, After reading the threads on ROM upgrades now I am confused if I can upgrade my HD2 having Telstra ROM with Artemis HD2 v40.0. (thread 612580)
I am looking at removing the Telstra brand stuff and put the latest build without any telco branding..
My ROM version is 1.49.841.1 (71528) WWE
Radio Version 2.05.51.11
Protocol Version 15.28.50.07U
Manila Version 1.0.19211622.1
OS Version 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
I have seen different methods of upgrade. That confused me again. which is the right one my phone.
"1. Remove SD
2. Remove HSPL with HSPL2_RUN.exe (flash SPL 1.66.0000 with HSPL2_RUN.exe)
3. PowerOff the phone
4. Boot to bootloader (VolDown+PowerOn) and when it shows "USB" flash stock ROM by running matching RUU_Leo_S_HTC_XXX_3.14.XXX_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15 .50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe (get yours HERE)
5. Hard Reset (when phone starts booting after step 4, remove the battery, insert it back press VolUp+VolDown and still holding both press PowerOn and follow the instructions)
6. Boot to homescreen.
7. Run SSPL_RUU.exe with Artemis v40 RUU_Signed_0409.nbh in the same folder - YOU HAVE TO BE ON HOME SCREEN, NOT BOOTLOADER (this took me 3 tries until succeded - yes - nerve wrecking, but works). If it doesn't work (hangs on black screen for more than 2min or stays at 0%) remove the battery and try again. If still doesn't work - try solutions in NOTE below.
8. Hard reset (instructions in step 5)
9. when on homescreen - softreset."
Looked at the thread (26465) from which I copied the instructions above. As per the comment I wont be able to upgrade. Is that correct?
Also if I upgrade the radio will that cause any trouble? Or is the radio upgrade not necesary,
Thanks very much for helping.
Sir this will not work on a Telstra ROM!!
There isn't a 3.14.841.x Stock Rom available!!
Don't install stock rom over SD on your device if it isn't create for!
There are two way's to do:
- Waiting for a available Stock Rom 3.14.841.x ore a compatible HSPL version.
- Ore using the GoldCard technique.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will start reading the Gold Card technique. But thought of asking if there is any disadvantage to this? or is it just like the normal upgrade and it will let me upgrade in the future again..
hi im new here so go easy on me please
im trying to re-install windows mobile 6.5 on my t-mobile htc hd2 because i kinda broke my micro sd card that im using for android. the problem is i failed many times trying to flash the original rom it always stops at OS and displays the 00018002 error code...i searched every thread thats similar to my situation but it didnt help me..task 29 and toolkit couldnt help me because my computer cant recognize my phone...help me please? thanks in advance
is this a USA T-Mobile HD2 (TMOUS) ? Has green - call key & red - end key
If so look for correct TMOUS rom in HD2 wiki
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2#Official_ROMs_.26_Radios
Also review what HSPL you have.
If you can get it to bootloader tri-colour screen you should be able flash via PC-USB cable if have WMDC or activesync installed
Links for all above is in the wiki, do be careful if TMOUS HD2 as wrong radio version will brick it so read up on it if you not already aware of it ...

That screenshot says it all
1- you do not have HSPL, it gone & you on standard SPL2.08
2- ROM code error, you using wrong ROM so either get HSPL2.08 on it or use the correct TMOUS official ROM .
http://www.androidruu.com/Leo/RUU_L...adio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_1.5_Ship.exe
If unable flash via USB you will have to do it with a SD card, (borrow or buy a 2gb sd card) link below for basics on sd rom flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=681317
Personally I would flash a custom WM6.5 ROM such as energy reference perhaps !
http://www.mediafire.com/download/bhh47jlowm9zph6/Energy.Leo.23699.Sense2.5.Reference.Nov.24.7z
You would need a radio to go with the custom ROM as they do not include radio & one in My signature would be safe good option to start with.
** all linked ROMs/Radios in this post are TMOUS HD2 safe, if you use other ROM sources be sure you know they TMOUS suitable or your device will end up dead **

I only use WM6.5.5 as really not a big fan of Android as very messy OS .
Best custom 6.5.5 ROMs are all linked in wiki & my current one is as in my signature.
with the best apps of WM & good tweaking WM is super solid & usable.
Note taken. Maybe ill just stick with windows for now. I might get my cousin's old phone though im not sure if they are willing to give it away haha. Anyways thanks for all of your help.
