Ok, so I'm using [ROM] Cyanogen Gingerbread CM7 Final Sources (v14.5 + GPS Hotfix + Camcorder Fix) on my Mini Pro and it's going great, few minor hickups but nothing major...
That is until I select "Reboot into xRecovery" from the power down options. Selecting this, every time causes my phone to get bricked at the SE screen and I have to then use SEUS to get it working again, then root, then install xRecovery, then restore my backups.
Is there something I'm doing wrong here or has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?
mh not normal
if your device is broken you can press the hard reset button
it is over the battery thre must a little white point if you press it down for 5 sec
your phone would boot in xrecoverys if your device is bricked
to fix your problem with the reboot option
download the rom again and flash it again
are sure you make your factory reset and battery wipe
if you have still this problem ask slade about this problem
in his F.A.Q thread or in his ROM Thread^^
Thank you for the advice, I didn't actually know about the hard reset button, I had tried all combinations of the Power/Home/Back key as I'd read that somewhere on the SE forums and in here but it did nothing. I will try that next time thank you!
Will also try reflashing to see if that clears it up.

please help me. i don't know the reason why. my home button is not responding. i know this isn't a hardware issue since it works with recovery mode. also.. my lockscreen is gone. whenever i lock my phone, i can unlock it by pressing the power button. but there is no lockscreen. i am using go launcher ex and coderom nexusace.
i've tried removing go launcher ex but that didn't solve my problem. i've searched the forums but all i saw was people also having the same problem with the oly solution of reflashing.
i also found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146869&highlight=home+button+-working. but i don't know how to it since i'm very new to android.
please. are there any other solutions?
In recovery did you happen to fix permissions?
You might just have to reflash your firmware.
You have to install terminal to enter those commands, that's why you might be confused.
Reflashing would be the easiest way actually.
thanks for the reply guys. doing the aforementioned fix just got me stuck at boot screen. so i entered recovery mode and did a full wipe of dalvik cache and a full factory reset. everything seems ok.
Ok here's what happened...
I had Viper 1.3 running ok.... so I decide to give chainfire3d a try.. and install the nvidia drivers 1st...
It didn't make splinter cell work so I decided I'd uinstall it... after I put the original drivers back....
I installed the qualcom driver thinking that was it... Then I uinstalled chainfire3d.
Now when I boot my phone its totally black.
I think I can fix this if someone guides me through the recovery or guides me through wiping & re-installing viper.
Method 2 would be alot quicker, but worst case scenario,
I still have a nand backup but its on my computer.. So I'd need to boot into recovery.
And then access the sd card.. & then navigate to load it.
Great news I'm access the sd card right now and puttin the nand image back.
The only thing now is when I boot into recovery if I even make it that far, all I see is a black screen. No flash, the keys don't light up, & the power led blinks red once.
....
30 minutes later... I can boot into recovery but I can't see. Using a youtube video I mounted the sd card & have the viper rom ready to restore after I wipe it.
But I need directions on which keys to hit & the number of times.
I have just clicked wipe & something... the 3rd selection then I hit enter... Plz help
Try putting the PC86IMG.zip for TWRP back on the root of your sdcard and reflash that in the bootloader. If that all goes well, you should have a working recovery. Let me know how it goes, I'm going to bed soon so if I don't answer, I will check this thread in the morning. Best of luck!!
Can you give me the next instructions on which buttons to hit..
How many times do I hit volume down to accept yes I want to wipe it?
Or if I need to restart and choose another option.... because I already selected wipe & hit power.

How do you know that it's actually doing anything? Seriously, try what I suggested and flash TWRP from the bootloader, I have a feeling that will fix it for you. If not, you can also do the factory reset from the bootloader.
already tried factory reset... & can you navigate me to flash
All I have to go on is this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmQswv3vKrU
I already restarted my phone into the boot menu
Its not working -_-
.. I went to sleep and its working now
Hi there,
Some weeks ago, after many months of low space problems, I did a factory reset instead of deleting app by app.
But after that, I started having some problems:
Home button doesn't returns to Home, but it still works for mousing off the screen when it's off
Recory is missing
I give apps root, but they don't turn root.
The home button ... well, I can survive without. The Recovery... I haven't used it since I installed it. But the root is very important, as I want to use many apps but I need root to use them.
So well, let's try another factory reset. But nothing changes. So... let's change the ROM. But hey! I need recovery for that...
I haved tried many times to root or unroot the mobile, but it doesn't works. I have done it using many ways in Windows and Ubuntu, but nothing works.
Do you have any ideas about how can I fix this problems?

Instead of tweaking your device by rooting it or unlocking it.. I suggest you to repair the phone's software by PCC or SEUS!

To install recovery use xparts from playstore!
Or if your bl is unlocked then flash any kernel using fastboot! Every kernel with itself has an inbuilt recovery!

I managed to access recovery. And I installed a ROM, hoping that it could repair easily all my problems, plus upgrading my phone at the same time. I installed this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880321
I downloaded all the .zips I saw, and thinking that I could merge all them into a single one, I did. I though that this was the way to do it.
I did a backup of the phone, and erased cache, dalvik and did a factory reset. I installed the merged .zip, and after reboot:
The phone boots, the "Sony Ericsson" screen lasts for a few seconds, then I get a black screen for a few seconds, and the "Sony Ericsson" screen appears again, to dissapear, and keeps looping indefinitely.
I have been trying for a while, but I'm unable to boot the Recovery or even the Download mode. Maybe I don't know how? What I do:
Press power until it boots, wait until Sony Ericsson logo appears, start pressing Vol Down again and again <-- This worked for me earlier for accessing recovery before installing the zip
Hold power, home, and Vol Down (When doing this, after each 10 seconds (after the Sony Ericsson logo fades away, the mobile vibrates shortly, like when powering it off)
Hold power, home, and Back
Hold power and back
Hold and Vol up
Have I bricked it? How could I repair this for installed each zip one by one?
Guess that by now, I'll have to search my wristwatch.
To Enter Recovery:
You have to press back key again and again while booting(on Sony logo appears).
To Download mode:
Power off the phone.
Then plug the usb while pressing back key.
To Fastboot mode:
Power off the phone.
Then plug the usb while pressing menu key.
To Install a stock rom:
Download a Stock rom.
Then flash it via Flashtool.
or
Use PC Companion to repair.

This was the solution. I though that it was some ****ty software that wouldn't work properly, but I have to say that it's intuitive, and have repaired my phone without problems.
Thanks a lot. This have returned my phone to the state of after-buy, which is why I did the factory reset that made so much problems. Thanks!

Are you able to boot into recovery to restore a nandroid backup or reflash the rom?
Yes. Maby wrong words i use. When i dont push power button several times (unlock home button and lock power) phone runs normally. Wipe and reflash dont help... (wipe data, dalvik).

This is not bricked then bricked is when you press the power button and the phone won't turn on (hard brick) or bootloop at the boot animation (soft brick). A study brick is fixable by flashing a good ROM. A hard brick requires a professional to fix.
Your situation I believe is either a ROM or kernel bug. I think that pressing these buttons as quickly as it sounds like you are is probably causing the kernel to panic and reboot.
You should first search both of threads for the ROM and kernel you are using if they are not part of the same package for others with similar issues, there may be a patch or workaround not posted in the OP (original post) of the thread where you downloaded your ROM/kernel.
If no fixes are available, you should post on the development thread of your ROM/kernel about the bug so that they can fix it

please help me i have had this tablet for a while i would say about 2 years and one week ago i noticed that the tablet shuts off by its self and when i try to open it it would be on loop then i would close it again and again until it opens up with me i would say at least for 4 trys later and it would open up but now theres a huge problem that its stuck on loop and doesnt want to open at all i tried everything i tried holding the power and volume button at the same time and it opened up the settings i pressed everything i even restored and it didnt work i tried to look for a software or something for the media pad but im afriad that ill install a virus or make it even worse pleeease im begging that someone helps me
Did you meanwhile solve your problem?
If yes, can you post solution for others to know?
If you still need help, can you tell if you can manually turn tablet off and boot to recovery (Press and hold Power button + Volume key down and release it when Mediapad logo turns on)?
Have you try to do factory reset (options wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition)? Be warned that factory reset wipes all personal data from internal storage - do don't do it if you have important data on internal storage!!
If that doesn't help you will probably have to take your tablet to repair shop for them to take a look at it.
