[Q] You guys are my last hope :( - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear xda members, I was trying to flash my S II using odin, during the repartition the power went out (blown fuse) so now I've got a phone that bassically doesn't respond to anyhing. I've tried to enter download mode etc. but the power won't go on. The 2 things i did before the drama happend were; "wipe cache partition" and "wipe data/factory reset". So my question to you guys is if there is anyone who knows how to fix this?

Hello, same thing here. Phone no respond on whatever you do (except from getting warm when u charge it).
Ur phone circuit board (motherboard or whaterver). is empty as the new firmware wasn't able to install.
only solution is repair service center. They will jtag your phone with new firmware or they will replace your circuit board with a new one(which has already installed firmwared).
Dont know if you root ur phone or used custom roms. mine was legit and warranty was in use so no cost of repair.
but even if the device was rooted i dont think they can find out if it was or not. so you can seel "Kiez did it !" and use ur warranty

Don't they ***** about waranty then? I mean the only thing i really did was just putting it back on factory reset right?

Try it's response an usb jig. If it doesn't respond you'll have to send it in I guess.

heh ook rotterdam But I don't have a jig so any other options?

Ozz just send it to service center and say " wanted to upgrade to gingerbread and Kiez after a while wasn't responding" neither my phone . after i restart it ,that happend.
And they will blame Kiez meaning you are legal for warranty

Ik ben bang dat je vrienden mag gaan worden worden met de samsung klantenservice... Alles op kies schuiven is het enige wat je nog kan doen.

So upgrading to gingerbread doesn't break my waranty? (Is it like an official OS for the galaxy sII?), and Joop I've bought the phone yesterday so can I just bring it back to the store (something like an 8 day store waranty in NL standard). Typed it in english so others can understand it to

ye 2.3.3 official update. well as u said u can use DOA European standar and send the phone back to store to get another one (best choice since you will not wait for repair time)

which rom are u using? if u have stock se rom then have u tried "Factory Reset"? i am not sure if it removes rooting/xrecovery but no harm in trying...
I had to send my phone for repair (vibrator not working) last October. I had rooted it and installed a generic 2.1 and still the accepted to service it.
It you want a proper stock-state, you definetely need a USB connection to flashtool or SEUS. So no choice, just send the phone 'as is'.
the USB fault is a very common fault with the x10 so the company dealing with repairs might not even look into the software side of it. the repairs are dealt with by big companies who deal with lots of manufacturers and phones so they arent the sort to really care. they just fix it then send a bill to SE
the first phone i sent back was rooted and debranded and they just swapped it .
another option is to find someone who is good with electronics to fix it. it is really simple , the USB port just needs re-soldering (the solder will of cracked off) through the board
Resoldering might void the warranty isn't it?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Fortunately i've got backup of stock and rooted , but i just need to delete recovery. BTW as i said be4 i sent x1i to repair with broken case and they sony ******* sent me phone back with message : phone has been modified
Ps: also phone module stopped working ... I cannot leave airplane mode ...

[Q] About Warranty Requirements

alright so... i kinda screwed up the usb port on my beloved SGS2 few days back... and well it "kinda" work and "kinda" not.. sometime it detect its connected to computer.. and shows "USB cable connected" then sometime it wont detect no matter how many time i plug it in... so i'm planning to go to the reseller that i bought it from and see if they gona replace me with new one or send it to samsung to see if they gona fix it...
just a side note: if the fixing cost/the new phone cost doesnt go into warranty (water got into usb and broke it), my house insurance will cover the entire phone (confirmed)... so my problem isnt about that luckily
yes so.. i want to know what kind of requirement i need for warranty here i list what i did
1st Flashed stock rom with stock kernel (so yea its stock without root or any kind of custom)
2nd Reseted my custom binary (its been 0 for quite while now anyway...)
3rd Factory reseted (just in case it would magically start to work after this.. and to also ensure to samsung guys that i've tried everything within the warranty limit)
now question is.. did i miss something? i will be returning it thursday
ps. sry if there is incorrect grammar or anything... my english isnt perfect
I'd probably do it this way:-
1) Format cache, data, system, & sd card in CWRecovery.
2) Flash stock firmware
3) Use jig
They won't fix/replace it under warranty given you got water in the USB port (we went thru this last week if you recall). And how did you manage to flash a stock rom if your USB port is borked ? Anywho...
yes i remember mistah XD and it doesnt hurt to try does it? XD for the warranty i mean... and also i flashed it via mobile odin.. first downloaded latest stock rom via checkfrus downloader.. and then dropped it into dropbox from desktop.. downloaded it off from dropbox on android and then flash it via mobile odin done...
Good luck.
muhahahaha ;P got my SGS2 back today.. with 0 cost <3 got to love finnish customer service..
ps. no i didnt lie anything to the reseller.. told him i got it abit wet and it started to act...

[Q] HELP i think i have a brick

Hi everyone, i have a galaxy s2 wich a friend of mine tried to flash with odin, and he made a mistake, the phone had clockworkmod recovery, rooted, but he tried to flash a rom with odin while in recovery (he's an idiot) and the phone froze at the samsung galaxy s2 logo so he pulled the battery out, from that moment the phone never turned on, i have tried with usb jig, but no luck.
Any ideas?
P.S. i have tried all button combinations fastboot, downloading doesn't work and my pc doesn't see it at all
Hi
I think u should go to a service gsm since u can access download mode. Your friend will pay for repair. I think u need jtag procedure. After nickname i guess u are from romania. It will cost u 30 euros. Sal baiete
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Yep, If you've tried a jig & still can't get into download mode you need it JTAG repaired either by Samsung (more expensive option) or by a 3rd party repairer (usually cheaper option).
yes my friend i am from romania, i have made my own jig i have a 330 k ohm resistor, is that too much?

[HELP] suggestions for bricked device

Hi my phone bricked by factory reset and is still under warranty.......what reason should i give when i take it to the service center.......my phone got bricked with CF-root kernel......so there was yellow triangle when it was bricked........i am really worried whether they would notice that my phone is rooted ......please help
since its emmc brick my mobo is busted.....so hope they dont find out........please give me the suggestions when i take it to service center
Experience on here over past 8 mths or so with people who are unable to go back to stock/reset flash counter before sending phone in for warranty service/replacement is around 50/50. That is, half of these people seem to get warranty service, half don't (and end up paying for the repair).
It's basically a dice roll. It's all down to whether the person who fixes it cares/notices it's been messed with so far as you getting warranty service is concerned.
The less you say, the better. Tell them it barfed while doing one of their OTA firmware updates.
Hi,
its hardbricked ai?
I would just go to the service and act like a fool.
if its really hardbricked they wont see the triangle nor the counter
greetz

Jelly Bean ai? :silly:
Download Mode & CWM Rec. also aint working?
One more reason (the heat up) to go for the service center

LQ5 is 4.04 leaked firmware
that heat up is the symptom of emmc hardbrick.....
Ah yea right - only knew bout the brick prob. lq5 - i think both versions got their probs (leak & jelly)
Hm, but they still cant prove that it was your fault, can they?
I would, like i said before, just act like a fool :silly: just tell them you updated via kias and the phone is broken now (or somethin like that)
u can claim ur warranty if its hardbricked
i had done it just tell them u ver updating ur phone in kies and it after completion the phone never came alive

helpmy s3 is bricked !!

Hi all,ok i have had a rooted samsung galaxy s3 i1900 for the last 8 mths and dont no what is going on but last nite it decided to switch itself of and stay stuck on the Samsung logo boot up screen, ive tried all the obvious like a soft/hard reset and taking the battery out and trying to put into recovery mode, but it doesnt want to no , also even when i plug in mains charger im getting no red light to say its charging, so before i take back to vodafone can i just make sure it is bricked and there is nonthing i can do, vodafone said yes they will send of to samsung for repair free of charge as its still under the 12 mth warranty, only reason im posting this is to definately check there is nonthing else i can try with the help from other members on here, many thanks and hope to hear soon from brian..
can you boot it into download mode?
If you can still access recovery then it isn't a dead motherboard, probably the system partition is corrupt which a reflash of the ROM will solve - or go for the warranty repair. The rooting shouldn't invalidate the warranty.
Thankyou
