I haven't seen one yet. Someone else may have, but in my experience, it's hard to make silicone that big without either tearing or stretching pretty quickly. What about a bumper like the iPhone 4, where it only wraps around the sides, but the rear section of it is thick enough that the back of the tablet doesn't touch the table when it's set down? I think it would relieve some of the stress from the silicone, and I could use a stretchier mix to keep it tight. I'd kind of like that, and if enough people are interested I can give it a shot, I don't make cases for a living or anything, but I have some friends with a 3D prototyper and a whole bunch of industrial AB silicone. (Yes, I have weird friends.)
That sound quite interesting, I could be interested in one of those.
When using it now without a case I think it's kinda slippery.
I think one of those would give a better grip of the tablet.
What about dropping it, do you think the silicone will absorb the drop?

As much as it could, obviously. The problem is that it won't be much thicker than a silicone case for a phone, but the device is much heavier. Hence, more inertia. I'll grab some chunks of different mixes and test them by dropping a Transformer analog on them. Just FYI, I'm actually using a really large(and wide) rubber band right now to protect my TF's corners/edges. My belt buckle and watch tend to contact the sides of the TF every once in a while, so it keeps that pretty "gold steel" bezel from scratching. I'll see if I can figure out where I got it from in the meantime.

Great find. A quick look on ebay shows Xoom silicone cases for as low as $5 shipped. Hopefully more suppliers we be offering these soon and prices for the a Transformer silicone sleeve will drop similarly.
I'm looking for a case too and found this (it's for netbooks?) but would this be ok for the transformer too? I want to use it for tablet + dock. Are there better suggestions?

Durability is an issue with most of my samples. Hopefully someone will post regarding the Sikai's durability. I've got some different samples coming, will update when I've tested them.

Hopefully Otterbox will come out with something - they are a local company here in Fort Collins CO! I'll try and find out from one of the local reps

If that's anything like the silicone case I got for my PSP, you don't want it. Far too thin to provide any real protection, doesn't fit snugly, looks misshapen and ugly because it's near impossible to get it perfectly straight, and the thing is a dust and lint / hair magnet like you wouldn't believe.
I literally haven't used it at all since the first time I tried it.

Got my Sikai silicone case today.
It looks really nice BUT, it doesn't provide a snug fit.
I'm scared that it will slip out of the cover. Each four sides are very loose,
only the corners offers a snug fit.
If @msticninja have any questions lets here them, I want to help you
create that cover you talked about.

Can you dock with the sikai silicone case? I would also like to see pictures too. Thanks!
Hey guys I have been searching for a long time now for a folio style case that will fit the transformer WHILE docked. Searching here found me nothing.
I have only EVER found two (on amazon) that fit exactly what i am looking for but they have had mixed reviews.
I was just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like or has any experience with the following cases:
This one has a removable section for the keyboard dock which clips on to the main tablet case (which has its own cover for when not using it with the dock)
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Transformer-KeyBoard-Portfolio-MiniSuit/dp/B005JFIS50/ref=lh_ni_t
This one is a single piece built for use with the dock all the time.
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Transformer-Keyboard-Docking-Black/dp/B005GR0YUI/ref=lh_ni_t
Thanks in advance guys.
I bought this one from amazon, and I love it.

Yes and no. without the keyboard in, there is nothing to keep it from sliding out the bottom, but you can hold it. I'll upload a pix when I get home from work showing it if you want. Kind of hard to explain.

Thats why i was leaning more towards the one with the removable part for the keyboard (the first one i linked to).
That way you can use it with and without the keyboard and still be fully covered.
personally i find all these cases aesthetically horrible, i really dont want huge triangular bits of leather on the keyboard corners and the leather around the screen it just makes what is a beautiful tablet look like something out of miami vice!
but maybe thats just me.
LOL i do agree with it taking away from the beauty of the tablet, but im not a fan of sleeves and need something that i can keep on it at all times or whenever i need it. There are so many nicer ones (i.e the official transformer folio, looks smiliar to the ones made for ipads), but they are made for the tablet alone and must be removed to dock it, which sucks.

try the blurex case, its the best i have found, you can charge it with the case on and use the dock with the case on, you just cant fold it fully closed.

like i said you cant close the case completely with the dock attached, but when i am out and about i just detach the dock from the tablet and put the whole caboodle in this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Protective-...EC/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1327364719&sr=8-32
Yeah i remember seeing that blurex one and loved it because it doesnt have a bezel it has less noticeable clips which shows off the transformer much better. How is the hold though? how exactly does it work?
But yeah im not a fan of sleeves. so that would be out of the question for me (although it seems like thats the only option sometimes)

Yeah, BULL3TPR00F, I'm in the same boat in terms of what I want.
I'm not sure if its possible though, you'd think at least Asus would have put something together that did the job otherwise (let alone all the custom makers).
I think that blurex looks like it might be the best of average solutions to the problem. One thing I am concerned with is are the clips gonna eventually loosen/break if I'm constantly switching the tab between the dock and case?
bob dylan, do you have an opinion on that?

i very much doubt the clips would break, i dont know what they are made out of but they are sturdy as hell, i cant bend them at all when i press on them or try and twist them( maybe some kind of metal skeleton underneath? dunno). this case is very well made indeed, the clips do not leave any mark on the tablet at all.
---------- Post added at 04:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 PM ----------
just to clarify, with the blurex case i dont ever take the case off when using the keyboard dock. the case is fine with the dock as the back of the case just folds up behind the tab when the dock is connected and the keyboard is being used flat on a surface.
the only draw back to this case is that it doesnt close fully when the keboard is attached, you can close the tablet and the dock the usual way you just cant close the case fully. so for me i dont have a scenario where i need to take the case off.
when i want the tablet on its own i just take off the dock
when i want the dock attached i attach it and fold the back of the case up behind the tablet
when i want both and i am out and about i take the dock off and put the cased tablet and dock in a neoprene sleeve.
I ordered the same Minisuit case you linked originally, with the removable dock part.
In theory I think this fits my use case best. I have a toddler, and also toss it in my computer bag, so I wanted it protected/always covered, if it is docked or not.
I do really like the case. Its seems OK quality for $30. Having the ability to undock it and carry around just the tablet is great. I found that I was carrying around both the dock and the tablet often because I was worried about something scratching the screen. So Now, I carry just the tablet around with me much of the time, with the folio case protecting the screen.
Typing with the dock/tablet sitting in my lap is much better with the case on. It makes the base less rounded, so it is less enclined to tilt forward in my lap. Plus the corners of the case raise my wrists up off the keyboard slightly, which makes it feel more comfortable.
The case seems to be a little fiddly though.
The hole for the camera on the back sometimes gets in the way of shots.
It sometimes the tablet doesn't want to connect to the dock without undoing the elastic bands that keep the cover secured to the dock. I've just started leaving those un-done, since even if it connects, it seems to limit the tilt angle. And the elastic strap sometimes covers the charging light on the dock. And that works mostly ok. The snaps on the back sometimes are hard to work as well.
Thanks for the detailed description, you mind uploading some pics from various angles and what you were mentioning about the straps and whatnot.
Thanks!

Before I bought it, I stumbled on this review. Check out the 5th image here (also a decent review, lots of pictures)
http://www.transformerforums.com/forum/asus-transformer-accessories/6182-minisuit-folio-case-review-tuff-luv-clone.html
You can see the elastic strap that keeps the underside of the case attached to the dock. Scroll a bit further down, and you can see the picture of the two attached together. The reviewer didn't seem to have any problems with the straps. I can make it work ok with them on, but it just seems to make docking a bit harder...and it definitely seems that they get pinched when reclining the screen back fully.
But they're not really needed. If you have the two pieces snapped together, the snaps hold the base piece in place. Really what the straps do is to keep the case from falling off the dock when the transformer isn't docked. And you could put the straps back on in that case...
Cool thanks
I own a real Tuff-Luv case and really like it. Worth what I paid even if that's about double what that clone costs. It does add some bulk.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk
Yeah i decided to splurge and grab the real Tuff-Luv case off amazon (Veggie leather, never seen the genuine leather anywhere aside from the official site). It is quite expensive but i do believe the build quality will be better than the knockoffs (also the MiniSuit knockoff does not have a cutout for the left speaker, and ive heard of minor issues with alignment of the holes (for cameras, etc).
when it arrives in a couple weeks, i will post pictures.

Hey everyone, I was looking into buying this S tablet, and before I do I wanted to make sure I knew which accessories I was going to pick up with it so that I was covered from the get go.
Besides a dock or two, I've been looking for a sleeve that will allow me to easily slide my tablet in from the side. So far I've only seen sleeves that use a zipper to close it, and/or open along the long edge.
I know most people want a protective casde, but what I'm looking for is something that will let me slide the S tablet in from the side, and uses a magnetic/velcro flap along the short side to enclose the tablet and keep it from sliding out. Don't need much else than that really. Maybe a pen holder, but that's far from necessary.
Any recommendations?
I tried this.
bugatti
And I like it.
Thank you for the quick response!
That is very close to what I'm looking for. I almost picked one up, but I wasn't a fan of the big "Bugatti" writing on one side. The Gray/Red design on their main website almost pulled out a debit card to purchase.
But, I think I'm going to lean towards something more plain.
I finally found one on Amazon: "Search" CaseCrown Vertical Neoprene Case
^^ Still haven't met the post requirement for live links.
I'd love to see other people's impressions on sleeves if that's the route they went. What they found that works. If there were any sleeves that offered functional extras.
I got the all black one so you can't even see the bugatti logo 99% of the time.

I want to start reading some books on my tablet, but due to the large size and small bezel it's awkward to use. Any recommendations for a case with a handle or strap to make things easier?
I haven't seen any cases with built in straps, but something like this might work for you:
http://www.amazon.com/Padlette-in-Black/dp/B004DLUZ4I/ref=pd_sim_e_2
I haven't used it myself, but it looks like it could be an easy way to hold the Prime, as you can just slide your hand under the strap. It should also be able to stretch over any folio case you might choose to use.
I use the Sikai microfiber case, and while it doesn't have a strap I find that its soft grippy texture makes it much easier to hold the Prime for extended periods. It also offers excellent protection for the tablet.
http://www.amazon.com/Sikai-Microfi...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1339617190&sr=1-1
That looks interesting, but $20 for a elastic band seems kind of ridiculous to me. If I can't find anything better though I may give it a shot.
Mine just came in today, so I cannot pass full judgement but so far so good.

I think this is the same seller that I bought my leather strap from. It looks like the same basic design. There is a metal ring (not ring, it's the shape of the outline of the watch that fits in the groove around the watch). It's hinged under one strap, and screws together under the other. Just unscrew, open, close it around the watch and refasten the screw.
If you're concerned about it falling out, there is no chance.

Interesting so in theory I could make my own straps using the mechanism? That's worth it to me
I understand why the strap costs as much as it does, I just with it didnt lol. $45 is a bit steep for me. I think Samsung really dropped the ball on this one. They really should either make other straps, or make an adapter, or work with vendors to make adapters. I guess the Gear line of watches arent popular enough for that though. Does anyone know if the S2 will have the same issue with straps? I haven't seen any being made for it yet, but it is still quite new
