I have a Chinese SIM card (China Unicom). If I try to "add a contact" or also change the contact settings, it takes a lot of time (+5 seconds) for the screen to show up. That's very annoying and it does not happen with my German or Belgian SIM cards.
Any ideas? I've already set "save contacts" to "to phone" instead of to SIM, so I wonder why it's trying to access my SIM and do funny things?
did u try another sim card from same company??
Hm no, I'm a bit reluctant to try and tell them. My Chinese is pretty much non existent and so is their English. I'll see if I can find a friend with a China Unicom SIM and use his.

Because I use my MDAII with a dual sim adapter (King of double card type MAI-E, search eBay) I would like to know for sure which SIM is active at any moment.
When I am in my home country the Operator name show does the job, but when roaming that is not reliable anymore.
 I would like to see some kind of (customisable?) string in the Phone application instead of the (roaming) Operator name that identifies the active SIM instead of the current operator..
What could be used is the first number that is stored in the SIM under "Own Numbers".
Does this exist :?:
Could it be built :?:
Hi,
I have a prepaid sim card. When ever i start my phone, i have to enter the pin of the sim card.
In Nokia I was able to save this PIN in one of the phone settings and thus it enabled me to restart my phone and use it without me entering the PIN.
Is there any setting like in Galaxy S II? Searched couldn't find it.
My phone is unbranded just in case
thanks
you can disable the PIN in security settings. No idea if that works the way you want it to but give it a try:
go to Settings -> Location and Security -> Sim Lock (translated roughfly, maybe it says something similar) -> untick "Lock SIM Card"

Hello All,
I recently rooted my ATT SGS2 and now it doesnt allow me to set a pin for the sim.
"Lock SIM card" under "Set up SIM card lock" is diabled and when I try to check it, it asks me a pin and when I enter some pin it says its a wrong pin. It only has 4 or 5 attempts and now I have only one attempt left. What is happening here. Any ideas?
I am unable to post link.
I just picked up my S2 last week and just started exploring this very thing. I thought it would be good to lock my SIM but, when I clicked on to use a pin and then change pin, it asks me for the old pin which I don't have. It went from 5 attempts left to one, even though I only entered one pin thinking I was setting it up. Now I'm afraid to touch it and I can't deselect the "Lock SIM Card" checkmark without entering a pin. I'm so confused. I've searched in XDA about it, but can't find anything.
Any gurus out there that might be able to help a twit that was smart enough to leave BB and come to Android?

Most likely its all 0's zeros.. that's what all my cell phones uses by default.
so if you purchased the phone brand new never used then 99% all zero's
Well, doing a little more searching and a -lot- more reading, I discovered that the 8 digit code is under your cell phone account at your carrier's site. I went to ATT, found the PUK code (eight digits). That's the pin. You enter that first, then you can change the pin to whatever you like. I opted to leave it alone.
Hi Folks,
Any idea on how to get rid of the encircled icon? Or at least, what is the name of this icon to help me search more. I don't have a second SIM card and I really didn't want to get a dual SIM handset but in my region only the dual SIM model is offered. So I've got this dual SIM phone with a single SIM card and the now none-sense icon.
Thanks in advance.
Since I could not figure out how to send a picture, I will explain. I have inserted a single SIM card in a dual SIM handset. Fortunately the phone is not showing any icons pertaining to the absent SIM card 2. But still it shows a SIM card icon with "1" in it designating that SIM card 1 is present. This is none-sense to me and I would like it to go. I want directions for doing this. I searched, but found nothing and even have no idea what this icon may be called to do some further search.
I'm using Marshmallow.
Thanks.
Hello everyone,
*
I'm having a pretty annoying problem with my Mate 20 Pro (and I'm not talking about this damn screen).
*
To begin with, I need to precise that I'm French and that "Orange" and "Free" are two French operator compagnies.
I have an Orange sim card and a Sim Free card. The orange card is the main one and works great in every scenarios, every slots. The Free card, works very well when it's the only sim card in the phone.
*
BUT when both are in the phone, you cannot make calls with the free card whatever it's in slot 1 or 2. Everything works fine: sms, internet ... except calls. When I make a call with the free card, the call works but it is the orange card that takes over systematically. Basically if I want to make calls with, I have to remove my orange card so that the free card is the only one in the phone and there it goes.
*
I think I have some idea of where this may come from, I would like your opinion. When I acquired the phone, he asked me for permission to download an operator package that was to ensure full network compatibility. I did not really think about it and I allowed the installation. I then saw that he had installed a kind of overlay (all the orange apps have arrived on the menu) and as an overlay, some applications could not be removed. I never had it this kind of thing on my last P20 pro.
*
In the settings "about the phone" I have my software version which is a huawei stock version 9.0.0.122 but I have at the bottom of the page a "version of use" orange software. I wonder if it is not this app that triggers an incompatibility between the two sim cards when they are at the same time in the phone ...
*
*
Could you tell me if you also had an installation of this operator software on your Mate and what is your network?

Thank you for taking the time to read me

Try SIM management and then default calling SIM
You can pick which one to use (or don't pick any and it'll ask for every call you make which one to use)
