[Q] Problem with Gt-7510 Google I/O, Task650 rom - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive been using his roms since v1. I have been having an issue of the tab becoming non responsive in the middle of games etc, and from there going into boot loop. I dont remember it ever doing this in v4. Ive hade to recover to stock now 4 times through fastboot only because for some reason i never have the option for recovery mode, just fastboot and download. So just a couple of questions, anyone have any clue to what might be the issue, also is there anyway i can flash my nandroid backup file thats on my tab through fastboot? Or a way to get into recovery mode to flash it? Anything on this would be awesome.

Soft Brick...but I wasnt Hardware Locked Before....

Hello all I recently installed Bionix 1.6. I didnt like the AllBlack theme so I flashed the black-to-stock theme, and now I keep getting force close loops, and I cant seem to access recovery. I KNOW for a fact that my phone wasnt hardware locked before.
When booting, Vibrant DOES flash a second time, but it just goes right to the Galaxy S boot animation after that.
I did a nandroid, so all I need is to get into recovery and Im good.
Any help?
I had a similar issue, I dont know if there is a quicker way to do this, but I odin'd back to stock, then rooted, downloaded recovery and nandroid from there.
Hope that helps
Is it even possible that my device somehow became hardware locked later on down the line? I ask because I cant seem to get into download mode either... Ive never heard of this, but any confirmation of that would ease my mind. I've seen people on here who can get into recovery but still have trouble getting into download mode.
Also when people with hardware locked phones attempt recovery, do they still get the Vibrant screen to flash a second time?
EDIT: I got into recovery through "adb reboot recovery"...sigh...Im going to see if I can get this back to normal from here.

Stock Nandroid Blown Up?

Hi all - the weirdest thing is happening to me and it is definitely something I've done but I haven't the slightest what it is.
I've got CMX right now, and I've tried to go to a couple of ICS ROMs (Task, Sonic). They flash just fine, but on the new system if the screen goes to sleep the video flickers on screen wakeup. I have tried to remedy this by flashing an ICS kernel but haven't had any luck whatsoever. So today I thought I'd go back to my Nandroid backup that I took on CWM 5.0.2.7 way back on the 1st before I rooted my tab. I was on (and prefer) TWRP so I used Odin to re-flash the original recovery, wiped everything (including format /system from the Mounts menu to wipe the ROM) and restored the backup. Everything seemed fine. But to my horror, I locked the screen and woke it up to find the same flickering!!!!
I rebooted back into recovery and flashed TWRP back on so I could restore my CMX backup and I'm back to normal again. But now I feel like I'm stuck here, and the only way I'm going to be able to fix this issue is by using Odin to flash a stock firmware package. I really don't want to have to do that if I don't have to but will if I need to of course...
The one thing I haven't been able to get an answer on is before blowing everything away is what I'm asking now...in thinking about it, I had taken the backup before flashing a bootloader to fix my "rolling recovery screen" issue. Could the cause of this type of problem be a bootloader that the ROM doesn't like, or is this a crazy assumption?
OK I'm going to bump this thread with a simple to-the-point question - hoping for an answer as I work out my theories.
For those of you who have flashed ICS and custom recovery with no "rolling/flickering" issues - are you using an unlocked bootloader?
For the bootloader you just hit the point my friend, the bootloader that we use to fix rolling recovery problem has issues with most kernels except Pershoot's HC or CM9...
For your problem you should think of grabbing the official ICS or HC(just for getting rid of screen flicker),and in addition to flashing it you should extract it's stock bootloader, make a. tar.md5 out of it and keep it for future similar problems...
Note that the bootloader can only be flashed using Odin in PC and CWM or even stock flashing using MobileOdin can't make changes to it(or recover it)
For now there is not a proper fix for that but I think the best way is to have the stock bootloader and use ROMmanager or MobileOdin for flashing(since the recovery rolls with stock bootloader)...
Yeah I flashed stock ICS and rooted yesterday. I am just going to fight through the rolling recovery for now and stick with ICS until we can do more.
Thanks for the response!
some trick:you can rename the zip files you're going to flash so that their name starts with "Z",it's then easy to navigate to them(just press vol down twice)
Yep! That works, and you can also rename files as update.zip and use that option I believe. It's time to think outside of the box a bit with regard to flashing some ROMs...thats the bottom line. i am sure there are a few devs on this site that would appreciate it if we did more of that lol!
guys im really getting the same problem now... and i dont know what to do
would you be able to help me please?

[q] help!! Note down

So ,im sorry but its a long story. Hopefully someone can help. My note is Rooted Ive been using TWRP. Everything had been fine until 2 days ago. I tried flashing a ROM i found on Goomanger.( I had been running liquid smooth) just wanted to try something different. Anyways it got stuck on a boot loop. Cant remember the name of the Rom. Anyways i was able to get back to recovery, thankfully. But when i wiped and flashed back to liquid smooth it would say optimizing apps, then it would reach a certain number then reboot and star all over again. So then i tried another Rom and the same thing happened. tried flashing back to stock rooted but it would turn on then completely crash and star booting up again. So finally i was able to flash paraandroid 4.1.2 and Gapps, but here is the kicker i have no service (AT&T) says cannot locate network, my IMEI is gone basically the cellular isn't working. Everything else works fine WiFi,apps, camera. Just cant make calls. I really need your guys help please.:crying:
If you have a suggestion please let me know, i hate using an old Iphone

Just odin back to stock. Get a complete factory stock image from the main sticky thread and flash it with Odin and Download Mode. There's a bug on one of the TWRP versions with 4.3-based ROMs that will put it into a bootloop by breaking device reboots. I was unable to flash my way out of the problem and was forced to do a complete reimage which solved all the problems and put me right back to clean-out-of-the-box state, then I reinstalled TWRP (though an older version before the boot loop bug) and re-flashed my custom ROM. The package I used was the stock image and Odin tool all in one .exe, just plug in to download mode and run it and it flashed bootloader, recovery, system, kernel, etc. all back to stock.

Thanks thats what i did, I just basically had to use KIES to use the emergency recovery, then root my phone again. My question is what version of TWRP causes this? cause i used the newest version i could find off GOO. My other concerne is, will it accept or be safe to use a custom ROM? Well i gues ill find out  THANKS AGAIN!
Everyone with the sgh-i717 is having problems with the latest TWRP and the most stable version is 2.5.0.0. Go with that one or you'll be starting all over again I imagine. And don't just stop at the download link in the OP's, read the thread and find out what's going on. The problems with TWRP have been going on for a while and the development threads have a lot of comments about the latest build causing problems. Good luck! :good:

Prime stuck @ splash out of nowhere

Hi all, my Prime is stuck at the Asus splash screen out of nowhere! I looked through these q & a, googled, and tried a few simple options before i posted this.I was not trying to flash a new rom or anything like that. I actually hadn't used it for a few days because i'm moving, i charged it up, used it for a few hours, came back later to use it, and the browser froze. No big deal, it does that once every day or two. I hold the power button to restart it and now it just stays at the flash screen. I haven't tried to flash anything in so long i forgot for a bit how to access recovery or what exact rom im using. I can access recovery(twrp 2.2.2.1) and fastboot, i remember unlocking without a problem, and doing the nvflash backup on ics before i believe i flashed a stock jb rom(which i think i'm still on.) I was able to copy my pictures to an external sd card through twrp , and after that i tried to restore a backup, and wiping data and cache but still stuck at the splash screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated, right now im going to look through and see if i can find the stock jb rom, or lookup fastboot guides or something. Thanks for any help!
I flashed this rom and got it up and running. I love this forum! w00t http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927494

[Q] Custom Recovery on an S4 That Won't Boot

Hi all,
I'm trying to help someone fix their S4 that won't boot past the Verizon logo. I had rooted the phone probably a year and half ago but I never put a custom recovery or rom on the phone, as they mostly wanted to be able to use adblock, greenify, etc. The phone has been degrading slowly, lots of "SD card has been removed" errors, and now it simply won't boot past the Verizon logo. I have tried to boot into the stock recovery and clear cache with no luck. I don't want to wipe data if I can avoid it for now.
I was wondering if someone could point me to the proper CWM or TeamWin file and the best way to install it. I'm not sure if a custom recovery will even help me get it booted at this point but I figure I might have a little more luck over using the stock recovery. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
Do you know what the phone's baseband is? Chances are it's not MDK so that means to CWM, TWRP, etc. Take out the battery, put it back in and then boot to download mode then try and flash a new tar in Odin.
I don't unfortunately. I rooted it about 1.5-2 years ago. I don't remember quite well but I don't think it's been updated since, I think I froze the update notification whenever that started popping up.
Flashing it in Odin will erase all data, correct? I don't know if I have another choice at this point, just curious.
Sounds like you need to odin the stock tar. Reroot and proceede from there. Yes it will wipe user data.
