[Q] What's the location of adhesive tape? - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've replaced the digitizer and I'm not sure that I've placed adhesive tape on all the right places. it's been a long time since disassembling the phone and installing the new digitizer.
I remember that there is tape under the LCD screen on the metal plate.
I remember also that there is in the bottom area of the phone near the trackball, and I don't remember if there is any tape on the top area of the frame, on the right and left side.
all the movies about disassembling don't show tape at all. it seems to have been removed before the recording.
any advice?

[Q] Galaxy S3 Glass Replaced - Loss of Sensitivity

Hi Guys,
As the title suggests I have replaced my glass on my Galaxy S3 and I am now experiencing a really annoying issue, some of the time I notice (mainly when typing) some of the keys don't react to my touch. It seems mainly the outer edges of the phone which are experiencing the problem, when typing the can usually be 'o,i,l,p' keys.
When I did the job I heated the glass and removed the glue I had a load of residue left on the screen itself, I then used a combination of nail varnish remover and electrical contact spray with cotton buds to get this crap off. Once I was happy it was all gone I laid the new adhesive on the back of the new glass and pressed it down on to the phone, heated gently and tried to make sure the whole thing was stuck down.
Now since this problem is intermittent it makes me think the digitizer may not be damaged (not sure how it would have got damaged, I used a hair dryer) but maybe the fact the glass isn't stuck down enough, especially if the outer keys are lacking sensitivity, maybe the adhesive is raising the glass to high away from the digitizer??
Has anyone else had this problem and if so have you resolved it? If not any suggestions appreciated, I'm tempted to lift the glass again and take the new adhesive sticky back off and try and reuse the original glue to see if this improves responsiveness to touch.
Any help appreciated
Joe

Galaxy S3 Glass Screen coming away from Double Sided Tape

Hi Guys,
I have an S3 i9305, that I have replaced the screen (I purchased a complete screen & frame), Geniuine Samsung part where the screen and frame are already bonded together with double side tape. (did this after I cracked my original screen,). IT was pretty easy to replace..
Unfortunately, the double sided tape that attaches the glass screen to the frame is starting to come apart at the home button end.
Does anyone know any way to try and fix this.. its coming apart about 1-2mm, where I keep pushing it back down, but it's lost its stick.
If you've ever repaired one, you would know its practically impossible to remove the screen from the frame without Cracking it.
I've considered dropping a tiny bit of super glue just around the home button.. but worried I might stuff the mic/home button..
Any helpful suggestions on how to repair?
One thing I have just thought of is a case that pushes the screen down / clamps together in two parts that click together (like otterbox etc).. ie, where the case pushes the screen against the body..least this will stop the screen coming away.
Thanks for any help.

[Q] Back plate bulge

Hi! Does your device have a *slight* bulge on the back plate near the camera area? On my phone, above the SD card port and above the SIM card port, the back plate is just a little bit bulging. I assume that this is due to 2 factors: a) the phone gets hot and the glue gets soft; b) the heated internals swell a bit and therefore the backplate will be lifted.
Similar problem with Z series phones causes frame bending (because aluminium frame in this aspect is inferior to plastic frame) and I think this is also the cause for the well known back-plate or display cracking for Z phones. That leads me to another question - has your M4 display cracked "by itself"?
Admin, please forgive if in the wrong forum, please move it to the correct one if necessary.
I have the same bulging backup.

[Hardware] Middle Frame Odd Parts - Help for Crazy Project

Hi guys! I finally decided to break the ice in XDA, this is my first post!
I've always wanted a 100% aluminum S2 (before i bought it I thought it was). So... I want to Lost-Wax cast a Middle Frame out of aluminum. Since the Front Panel it's made from an aluminum-like alloy I'll leave it alone (just for now).
When inspecting the inside of the Middle Panel I noticed a lot of "odd" parts, like a metal "sponge" (?), some glued plastics and other stuff. I need help identifying those components and figure out it's actual function, so I can later decide if reuse, replace, rethink or eliminate some or all of them.
I've had no luck finding info of them here or in the web... This maybe is because them come bundled within the Middle Frame or simply because they have no impact on the overall good-function of the device.
To be more specific I'll list those thingies here and identify them in the attached image (sorry, I've just foundt out that since this is my first post I can't attach images), aside I write my thoughts about each one:
[A] Metal Sponge - This is maybe to remove heat off of the screen flex.
Plated Metal Finish - Helps the Metal Sponge to fulfill her life goal? Maybe?
[C] Glued Plastics - Some of them try to press determined components down to the motherboard to avoid false-contacts, like the antenna conector. I think.
[D] More Glued Plastics - Maybe are there to protect some motherboard components from friction wear against the Middle Frame's plastic.
[E] A Brass Contact - A sensor connection? Which one?
Please tell me if I'm forgetting something... And forgive me if I mistake one from another in the list or in the image.
Beside this components identification... What do you say? Is this aluminum frame too much? Would you like to have one? What device-function problems you think I might encounter when I'll have it installed?
I hope someday I can post something really helpful, since I can't count how many times you helped me in my noob adventures flashing, upgrading, breaking, fixing, breaking and fixing again and troubleshooting my phone.
Thank you very much folks!
No one ever opened up his S2 and wonder about it´s inner guts?
Come on guys...

Durability discussion

First off i'm not really sure where to post this because there is no durability section in real life reviews and i think this is more of a discussion than a question.
So what do you think of the durability? After watching this video i realized that this phone can benefit a lot from a case, since: the flash and color spectrum cover is plastic, the camera sticks out and the aluminum seems to be painted (at least in the pink version).
The aim of the thread would be to share experiences, findings (like exactly what kind of aluminium is used and is it painted or naturally colored) and maybe even guides that are durability related (like removing scratches).
As i inspected my phone i noticed a lot of hairline scratches on the back, after only one week of use, luckily they are only visible from certain angles in good lighting. They don't rub off (like htc or iphone back scratches). My first reaction was to maybe try toothpaste, but i think i'll hold off as of now. If i end up trying anything i'll add it to this thread.
Dropped my xz1c accidently today down the spiral stairs from 3m descending slowly 20cm/steps 5 times then after 2m mark hit mirror glass wall in front and straigh fall straight to granite floor, microsd tray came out by 5mm, above the sdcard / sim card tray near screen plastic chip off, under the left corner there is a serious bending slightly upward, can see some opening under the bright light, likely not water tight anymore, but pressure sensor test says it is still water tight, not willing to risk it though.

Where can i access the pressure sensor test? I couldn't find it in the support app among the other tests.
Must use default sony dialer as default app then *#*#service#*#* or *#*#7378423#*#* somewhere inside, is not using default sony dialer now, ask again if can't find.
