4G is blazing fast, but when I go on my home wifi it is SO SLOW it took three minutes to load google. Its not the router because my brothers phone is fast on wifi. It is rooted, and if I try to activate Bluetooth the whole phone shuts down. Also I can't use OTAs, it downloads them but stops installing about 30% the way through. Any fixes for this?
Im have the same thing going on....I was on Tmobile....using the galaxy s 2...when I connected to wifi...very fast....now im with Verizon the 4g lte really fast...but when connect to my wifi....vey very very slow.....I need help too!!!!!

Not a data loss issue but:
I haven't had a problem with my razr since the update, but after my wifes update, her razr will turn off wifi now and then if the phone sleeps too long. Sometimes within 10 minutes. It happens more times than not.
On .748 my Razr was always locked on strong with 4G on.
W/ .173 I've been having nothing but complete data drops even though it still shows 4G and I'm in 3G in places where I had a strong 4G on 748
Does data drop mean losing 4G and then wait for a minute and then comes back. That's what I've been getting lately. It doesn't even switch to 3G. I never had that problem with my TB sigh

Yeah I too experienced data drops. But once I switch between 2g and 3g networks there are no drops for sometime.

I've started having several after update. Hopefully Verizon will drop an update soon. Surely with this many of us having this issue, has to be a known issue.
While I haven't had any data drops since the update, I have noticed I have a much weaker signal. I was under the impression this update was supposed to reverse that.
For me it fixed the day by day data droping. You may need to reset the phone.
P.S I hope it gets fixed soon and I know all to well how much of a pain it is.
I have an unrooted Droid Razr and anytime I am in Verizon's Extended network I drop all data. The signal strength fluctuates from -67 to -99. Most of the time while I travel it is between -75 and -90. I have enabled the global roaming and I changed the voice privacy settings after I looked on the forums. Any ideas of things to try? When I contacted Verizon they suggested they could have lost their "agreements" with the other carriers to cover 3g. Two weeks ago I was using a Droid Charge and it worked fine.
Same here. When I first got this phone about 2 weeks ago I had a strong 4g connection which would rarely drop to 3g, but for some reason now I'm constantly dropping all data connection and its draining the hell out of my battery since the phone is constantly searching for a connection. I'm on a stock razr running. 2.3.6. Anyone have any ideas?

Exactly what i'm going through I've gotten a replacement razr Maxx from Verizon thinking it might be a bad phone but the replacement is loosing signal just the same way.someone please help!

Had this problem a few days ago, but haven't had a problem in 3-4 days. Been getting great signal and data speeds lately.
I rebooted my phone this morning and so far so good. I haven't dropped my 4g connection yet. Battery life is still at 91% coming off the charger at 7:30 CST this morning.
Edit : this is a maxx

How do you reboot the Razr Maxx on stock (not rooted)?

Update, started dropping data connection again. I guess I'm going to have to call Verizon.

My wifes phone is complete stock and has been having data drops and restarts. Never dropped or anything done to it. Gonna have to call Verizon.
I have dealing with the same crap, look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1549021
Most of the time, it happens at 24h-36h up time, but can happen at 10min or wait 50hours. I have not droped data for a few days, but have not used the phone much at all.
P.S I am NOT in a Verizon's Extended network area. I am in a 3-4 bar place or even right next to a cell tower with 5bars.( That is BS)
I was tolled that I use the phone too MUCH and I need to turn it off EVERY night. Now I am thinking AT&T with galaxy s3 is the "fix" I need to get a LTE phone that works right.
hi all. i bought a new razr xt910 with G.B and i love the phone but there is only 1 issue. it seems that whenever i want to connect to a wireless connection it takes about a minute to find a network and connect. this does not only happen at home but everywhere. i know its not the end of the world but with a phone like this it is very very frustrating.can anyone help me how to fix this problem?
Its almost instantaneously on ics

I scanned this forum before creating this post and I'm pretty sure there isn't one already out there but please don't flame me if there is. I couldn't find any and I spent a good 30 minutes last night, trying to find something like this.
I purchased a used HTC Rezound recently but was unable to get 4G LTE to stay ON. I surfed various forums for a possible fix but couldn't find anything that I hadn't already tried.
This morning, I think I might have found a work-around. Here's what I did.
After activating the line and being able to get sporadic 4G LTE signal on the device, I went into the wifi settings on a hunch that maybe some unexplicable interaction was happening between wifi and the 4G radio. Wifi kept wanting to turn itself on and I kept fighting it by turning it off.
I located my home network and clicked 'forget network'. Once I did that, I went back to make sure wifi was OFF and that Mobile (data) was ON and WHAMMO!! Immediately, the 4G LTE indicator popped back on and I've been rocking 4G for about 2 hours now, without a single blip. I've watched an entire episode of 24 on Netflix in an area of my house where I've confirmed that I have a weak signal and still, no problems at all.
So my Question is this: Is there any other way to disable wifi without having to 'forget' the network when I want to use wifi? (Other than what might seem obvious by turning wifi OFF when I know that doesn't get rid of the 4G dropouts).
It's really only an inconvenience at this stage. All I'd have to do to connect is re-enter the password and since I don't use wifi when I'm at home because I have Unlimited Data, it's not really a big deal but it just seems that the OS on this phone was purposely designed in a way to take people OFF the 4G network when their phone is 'familiar' with a wifi system they're near.
======================== UPDATE ====================
There is no issue with the phone. The issue was an activation issue and I was able to eliminate the problem by trial and error. It turns out, the way I was able to get the device to connect had to do with re-seating the SIM. Once I did, the phone has been flawless in connectivity to both 4G LTE and wifi regardless of the combination of wifi settings. I hope this is useful to anyone reading the thread.
Is your Rezound stock or custom?
LTE will disable when WiFi is activated, most LTE phone does this by design. I have experienced where my Rezound's WiFi would want to turn on automatically on the clean rom, re-flashed and everything was good.
I personally never had issues with my Rezound. If fact, the Rezound has one of the best radios to date. The fact that HTC integrated the antenna into the battery case housing is what makes it a strong contender for receiving radio waves..

Go in advanced settings wifi settings (menu advanced settings)and disable the automatically turn on wifi setting. (Not exactly sure what its called as I hate sense and I'm not running it) but ull see it in advanced settings and then when u want to actually use wifi just enable wifi.
Problem solved

Well, I'm on stock ICS but rooted with S-OFF. The wifi, even when OFF kept wanting to turn ON by itself when I wanted it to stay on 4G. The only way I could get the phone to stay on 4G was to 'forget' my home network.
All is well now. Weird huh?
Sent from my rooted HTC Rezound with S-OFF using ICS on Verizon's periodically blazing fast and mostly reliable network
The Rezound has a poor shield on the 4g radio chip which causes interference in music. So, logically if stuff can get out, then wifi can come in and mess it up.
Dude read what I said and it will never automatically turn on again.
That's the reason it kept automatically turning it on. And if u haven't done what I said then regardless of you thinking its fixed it WILL turn on again by itself.

There's no such setting that I can find within the settings and I know which setting you're referring to. I saw it before on my Thunderbolt but for the life of me, I can't find it on the Rezound's menus. Anywhere. I looked several times. I'm pretty sure it's there. I just can't find it so the only way I could get the 4G to stay on and not have wifi automatically connect was to 'forget' the wifi network.

Found the menu. Still haven't gotten used to the four lines at the bottom of the scrern being the menu.
Here it is. Which setting would it be? I wasn't launching any apps when the problem appeared where wifi kept eanting to turn on. I just powered up the phone and couldn't get 4G.

I am in Vancouver, BC, and we have those ShawOpen wifi network around town.
So here is the problem, when I go around town. My phone will connect to the wifi network around town. It will keep connecting and disconnecting to the wifi and data network. Making my IP phone and IM apps act weird.
Is there anyway to keep both wifi and 4g data on at the same time. I know the old app superpower on xda does it on some roms. but doesnt work on stock Razr HD.
BTW I have a Motorola Razr HD stock 4.1.2 canadian rom (rogers) rooted.

That's actually a normal behavior when it comes to Data/Internet, so Android switch automatically to Wi-Fi when you get in range of a stored SSID, and once you get far from it, it will switch back to 4G again and this just a politic about battery saving because 4G consumes more juice than Wi-Fi.
To respond your question I should say there's no way to have both 4G and Wi-Fi connected at the same time because that isn't really suitable (and not Possible?? for a phone at least), and the only workaround I can tell you is to just keep Wi-Fi turned off and use only 4G so you won't get bothered.
Hope that was clear.
