Hello. I noticed a similar experience in the speedmod thread but since I can't post there yet, here goes.
Turning off wifi freezes the phone when using the kernel. This only happens if tegrak overclock module is loaded, whether I actually undervolt or not. I do not overclock. Doesn't happen when undervolting the stock xxlps kernel.

so why do you use tegrak if it makes us device unstable?
reflash the fw and the kernel with all wipes. you should be fine after this.
cheers!
Hmm...already did the wipe. Same issue. Oh well. Speedmod back in gingerbread was fine with undervolting. It's also fine now actually, only the wifi thingy.

Tegrak app is not 100% compatible with speed mod kernel.
Latest tegrak fixed the problem. In addition, I think the toggle hang for wifi relates to nitro lag nullifier option in the supercharger script. When disabled, works fine.

Just set your idle cpu to 100 to 200mhz because lower than that you might get sod. Mine is 100mhz using siyah with extweak app.

I have a similar problem with custom roms. I have only tried 3 (Paranoid Android, Resurrection Remix and Slimbean) and the all had frozen my phone at least once a day while the screen is on. So I had to pull the battery then it decreases my battery significantly. I also tried different kernels but still the same result.
I don't undervolt or overclock it So I honestly don't understand why it's doing it. I however set the governor to performance.
Any help please? It's getting rather annoying. Thanks guys.

1. Post your present ROM and kernel details
2. Post your kernel configuration
3. Next time you have SOD/freeze, there is no need to pull the battery, just hold the power button for about 10secs, your device will restart

Performance governor caused the problem, if you want performance boost with Siyah kernel then use performance profile.
1. Uninstall voltage control
2. Download Extweaks from market
3. Run Extweaks
4. Reboot to recovery
5. Select kernel specific option
6. Select performance profile for Extweaks
7. Reboot phone
Your phone should fly now without freezing

Thanks but I changed governor to smartass 2 but I still had a freeze..but I will try use the kernel tweak instead.
I have just formatted my external sdcard as I have read corrupted files may cause freeze.
I have also noticed that it does it when the phone is on charge and while on the xda app lol. But then again that is what I am mostly on when I'm on my phone: )

i believed the reason why you changed your governor to performance was because you wanted to boost performance.
Siyah default governor favors more performance, use default governor.
If you want performance, then
Boot to recovery
Kernel specific option
Reset Extweaks profile settings
Select performance profile.
Reboot phone.
Change every other thing except the governor.
Now that you are experiencing freezes, use stable configuration first

Hi
I have the following setup:
ICS 4.0.3
MIUI v: 2.9.21
Baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Kernel: [email protected]))
Build no: MIUI-2.9.21 IML74K
Before this I had lots of other roms whether that be stock(latest) or custom. Same with kernels!
Its been almost a year that i have my S2 and I had never the luck to have a stable phone without the SODs!!!
Can anyone help me through this?
Thanx
Dear members.
I recently installed RR3.0.6 with Siyah 3.0.6 and im having some difficulties with my battery life and random shutdowns.
My battery discharges very quick. And sometimes when I turn my screen off my phone shts down. I have to turn it on myself again.
What can it be and what can i do about it?
Kind regards

1. Many things can make battery discharge quickly; apps, kernel etc.
- Download Better battery stats and use it to track down what's causing wakelocks.
- Download cpuspy to check your cpu activity
- Download Rescan Media Root, and use it to disable the media scanner on boot.
2. That's probably screen of death, SOD. did you change any settings in Extweaks?

no problems here with RR 3.06 and siyah 4.15
It is better battery there than stock rom I find.:good:
I only changed max mhz to 1ghz. And nothing else.

Ok.
Follow this:
-Boot to CWM recovery
-Flash kernel cleaning script,
-Then flash Siyah kernel
If you still face battery issue, then follow step 1. In my previous post

Battery profile in Extweaks gives a decent battery performance without a noticeable drop in performance.
You can only change profile in Extweaks plus (paid version).
If you are using the free version, then,
- Boot to CWM recovery
- Select kernel specific options
- Set battery profile for Extweaks
- Reboot phone

I already posted this on the Rootbox rom thread, but I know not everyone reads the whole thread so it might save a bunch of people from asking the same question on different threads over and over again. I have tried out a few 4.2.2 roms and they would always reboot randomly, I used the 4Aces kernel and the Uber kernel and got the same results, constant random reboots. I fixed the problem by turning off CPU profiles. I use SETCPU to overclock, but I assume this is a kernel problem that would happen no matter which app you use to overclock. Hope this helps others!
Just to clarify, I'm still overclocking my device I've just turned off the CPU profiles.
Thanks a lot Porkenhimer, Will try this fix asap.

Soo, yeah, OP, what exactly are "CPU Profiles". Is this some app? Or is it the setting like in SetCPU that lets you change profiles around in sleep, wake etc?
I don't see it on SetCPU.. Under the Profiles tab, the "Enable Profiles" is not checked. Never has been . I still get the occasional reboot but its somewhat rare at this point. Nothing to concern myself with

Many things happen that cause reboots... Set cpu profiles may be a problem with certain rom and kernel combos but is not a problem for others...specify which rom and kernel combos your using

Did an experiment yesterday and today, I ran 5 random 4.2.2 ROMs each for two hours, 1 hour with no CPU profiles setup and 1 hour with CPU profiles setup and enabled. I used the 4Aces kernel for each test. I also used a different profile setup for each ROM. I did a full wipe before installing each ROM. The ROMs I used were PAC-Man, Alliance, Rootbox, ReVolt & Jellybeer. I did not install any apps except for SETCPU. I had a total of one reboot with CPU profiles turned off, which was with the PAC-Man rom, and the least amount of reboot I had was with Rootbox, which was 3 reboots in one hour with CPU profiles enabled. Its pretty clear to me that enabling CPU profiles at least with the 4Aces kernel, will cause reboots. I had used both both the 4Aces and Uber kernals before doing this test and got reboots on every 4.2.2 rom I tried so I'm guessing if I did the same exact test with the Uber kernel I would get the same results. I'm not saying that other things are not also causing reboots, but its clear to me that something bad is happening when CPU profiles are enabled.

Yes its the tab that says profiles in SETCPU.
Well you must have had a borinnnnng day haha. ... And your eyes must hurt for waiting on reboot.... I run 4/20 rootbox with profiles set for screen on 192/1242 WHEATLEY and screen off 192/972 powersave...4aces kernel. Only had one reboot and it was my daily driver for over a month. ...also the new base changes and merges may be messing with profiles set for set cpu in the newer 4.2.2 builds of roms and kernels. Cool to see someone giving that much time in a day to watch for reboots. Keep visine handy ...hope you figure out more
---------- Post added at 03:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:33 AM ----------
And actually run a logcat of it re booting with profiles and we will have some answers to what is causing the issue

••••changes with every flash••••
So I'm still running an old flappjaxxx UCLF6 build (Android 4.0.4). Part of the reason I've not flashed in such a long time is because I'm completely dependent on BLN working for notifications.
At the time I stopped flashing, source code hadn't been released so there was no way to run BLN on say a CM based ROM. My questions are:
1. Has this changed, and if so what more current ROMs enable BLN?
2. If BLN still is not available, what other apps are people using for notifications?
TIA
