I have been using the same pin code all day. around 8:30 i woke the phone and entered the code and it said 'sorry, try again' i kept doing this but its not accepting the code. I dint change the code or anything. all of a sudden I cant access my device. please tell me this has happen to someone else cause this sucks big time!!
Try rebooting it. If not, something is up...maybe someone changed your pass code as an April fools joke.

I helped a friend on a captivate once with the same issue. She had a friend that changed it while they were drunk, and then forgot the code to tell her in the morning. Anyways, I put the phone in download mode and odinĀ“ed her captivate back to stock, worked like a charm, no more code. It may suck having to set up your phone again if you didn't have a backup, but it should get your phone unlocked without having to call up ATT.

ok i have successfully rooted and s-offed my 3vo but that calling problem i have (error 16) so i called sprint and they asked me for alternative number i said no and they said its ok but they needed some personal info(im 13 and on my uncles plan)so i said i dont know as im on my uncles plan and she said ok and then she asked for name. i gave her my name and then she asked for my uncles name and i gave that to her and she said thats not what comes up so i said well i dont y and she said to go to sprint store and get them fixed. i cant go or take a chance of getting caught with s-off or root. ok so i was done with sprint. now i tried dialing ##72786# to reset hands free and hands free worked but still no calling. i tried ##3282# and reset profile and now i get verizon wireless wen i call .and now i did it again and sometimes i get sprint(mostly) and sometimes verizon.
im stuck and dont know what to do...should i talk to sprint again and hope the next person doesnt ask for info or is there a fix idk about...
thanks to whoever posts
I think you should flash a stock rom( rooted of course)...just tell your uncle that some of your friends also are having some issues with the particular phone and a new update simply needs to reset the phone by owner calling the representative. You don't need a another line..see other thread about what to say. This should be a no biggie. You are not lying and you are infact telling the truth.

its very funny for me when you said that just tell your uncle that friends having the same problem (thx anyways)but i kinda actually root and customize phones for him and he sells them on ebay etc... (im probally going to root his as he has one too) ... but is there a point to flash stock as i didnt debloat or anything just rooted and s-offed
No, if you do mods for your uncle..he should be responsible for it then. Reason for the stock rom was to make sure you did not get in trouble for rooting it. But it seems like no big then. Have him do it, simple as that.
I work at sprint. That just happens sometimes when the phone is reset .. make a call it will tell you to stay on the phone it then will connect you to a rep they'll reset a setting. And then you should be good.

no its my phone though and i need it and i was saying that he doesnt care that was my point and im trying to fix it with costing him
It doesn't cost anything to reset the phone.
Ok here is what you do, just log on to his sprint account online. Take one of the other phones and put it on your line, any sprint phone will do as long as it isnt activated at the time. Once you have swapped the phones online just wait 5 minutes and swap the 3VO back to the line, presto you are done, just make sure both phones are off when you do this. Once you have swapped the 3VO back to the account wait 5 mins then boot it up, it will go to the activation and presto it will be all set to go.

get a new one i meant which i doubt is going to happen but i just dont feel like telling anyone and dealing it with my self
I had the same problem, after flashing no calls or texts would go through. I called Sprint, gave them the error code (from failed text msg) and she asked me to remove the battery give her the ID code on the back of the phone and she had it working by the time I booted up. I did not offer any reasons for the problem and she did not ask, I really couldn't have been easier.
I had the same problem at first and I've had 3 different solutions.
1. Update profile and PRL (seems unnecessary but its worked for multiple ppl)
2*. Download MSL Reader. Once you have your MSL go to dialer and enter ##yourmsl#. That will being up EPST. Select edit. Change YOUR number (top one) to 000000000 and leave the MSID. Reboot. Allow hands free activation to go through. If it takes longer than 5 mins hit cancel and go back to EPST (##yourmsl#) and change the string of 0's to your number. Reboot.
3. Call sprint and tell them you have error code 8 or 16 when trying to make a call. That tells them they need to reset your phone.

Hi all, I could really do with an expert or someone who deals with unlocking phones that never happened. Anyway, anybody's point of view would be appreciated.
Right, basically I've got an X10 mini(e10i) on O2 and have unlocked bootloader and flashed CMmini 7 2.3.7 and it's been working perfectly for the past 2 weeks with no issues. Today I went out to find an unlocker, the 1st one said he's need to charge extra because it was a custom rom, why that has anything to do with the unlock code I don't know?
I then went to the 2nd unlock stall and I explained it was custom rom etc and he said that was fine, hooked it up to SEtool box and after a few mins said he couldn't do it at the moment as the server was offline (about 12.40GMT today).
I left and put my sim in and it had no service so I did the norm and cleaned it etc and still no joy. Before I took it to the 1st stall it was working then because I got a txt message shortly before and he didn't even hook it up as he checked the f/w version 1st.
I took it back to the stall and asked him what was wrong, he checked it out, tried an 02 sim in as that was the original network and still nothing. He showed me the SEtool log which had my IMEI in it which said it tried to connect but no access to server/offline, something like that anyway.
Anyway, I kicked off as you do because it was working fine before he hooked it up and after getting nowhere went to the market police and got them to investigate. They came back and said what he told me anyway plus it might have been O2 themselves that blocked the phone? Why they'd do that when unlocking is common place I don't know!
I went off to O2 and they confirmed it's not blocked so went back. To cut a long story short I've gotta go to an O2 phone guru for them to find out what happened and if it's the unlockers fault then he'll have to replace it!
What I want to know is if connecting it up to SEtool (SEtool 2 I think it was) would in any way cause the issue i'm jhaving? I've already flashed back to stock kernal and firmware and still exactly the same. I'm also getting no sim inserted now and whichever network I try and connect to I get sim not supported or something like that.
If I can maybe even get a vaiid reason as to why this happened and there's no way they might be at fault i'll have to learn to accept it, it just seems funny that it was working shortly before! If there is any reason that he is at fault somehow i'd like to hear about it so I've got some info and ammo to go on.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I thought it best to explain everything that happened and what i've done to try and resolve it. I hope someone can help and any guides/info etc offered i'll at least give a go once to try.
My coworker just get her first Android, she had an old Razr.
I was working the first time she asked me to show her how to work it and set up stuff. Today I asked if she got the hang of it yet , and she said no its locked and she cant use it and att couldent help her... Okay ..
So something about she had to use the sim that came with the phone. and now she cant get into the phone .
is there a motorolla activation password or something . The new sim is working in her old Razr for now.
Is there antyhing I can do to get her phone back working?
I think the phone is refurbished ,orderd online some where, dont understand whats so difficult and why a simple call to att didnt fix it.
but ill at least look at it for here tomorrow if u guys can give me some Atrix info

this happen to my sister's phone. we just called AT&T and they had to reset the phone from their end. I honestly don't know what happened nor how it got to that point, but the AT&T rep I spoke with apparently knew exactly what to do.
I thought it was my sister trying to set a passcode on her phone but accidentally set a SIM passcode or something.
anyway, have her try this. see if it works.
Only pass codes she could have set are the SIM or the lock screen password I think. We'll better placed to help when you can give some accurate feedback as to exactly what the phone is, or is not doing.
I have a Note 5 via Sprint.
The device was won, so never activated.
Unfortunately, I don't have a Sprint account and don't with to have one. NIB, checked IMEI and it's clear.
I was fortunate to call and get a six digit unlock code, so they said. I called back to verify and they said it was valid.
Inserted TMO SIM and it doesn't work. The prompts don't pop up to enter the unlock code. Can someone help me wit this?
I am not super techy when it comes to this. But even the TMO rep was clueless to why the prompts were not coming up.
Oh note, I went to RTN and try to reset the MSL with the code given and it didn't work. I don't know if I need to activate the phone and then try to TMO sim. Then disconnect the Sprint account. I have no clue but help would be great. I would really like to use my Note 5

The MSL has absolutely nothing to do with unlocking the phone and Sprint phones never use codes to unlock (Tmo should know this by now). There are a few places that offer these unlocks now and a few unlock boxes that support it as well, though you don't want to go that route as it's quite expensive way to unlock one phone. Probably the best, easiest solution, is to check out idoneapps.com The developer is a member of XDA and has been verified to work by quite a few members here.
So in May of 2015 i purchased on Amazon a new Volt 2 to be used on Virgin Mobile with a yet to be established accoung. The next day my Mom surprised me by giving me her old Samsung and added me to her phone plan. The following week when The Volt 2 arrived, it got lost in the shuffle and instead of returning the phone, it got tossed in a closet... unopened... never activated... And no account opened with Virgin.
4 years later, a friend who is down on his luck just lost his cell phone. He doesnt have the money to replace it because he was laid off 2 weeks ago. I offered to put him on my plan with sprint becuase the plan i have is so cheap to add a line and figured i would give him my stashed Volt 2 since it's a CDMA phone and should work on Sprints network.... If life was only that easy.
When i went to check the IMEI number on Sprints site, it came back with a message that said something to the effect that the phone qualified but i had to bring in to a Sprint store to activate it. Just to protect myself i called Virgin and asked if the phone was locked and explained the whole situation to her. She looked up my IMEI and claimed there were no holds on the phone and shouldnt have a problem bringing it to sprint. i asked her to triple check that information which she did and assured me all would be ok with Sprint...
i go to Sprint the next day to add my line and though they didnt say it was locked, i was told i just couldnt use the device on their network. So before i esculate this issue with Sprint I decided when I got home to call virgin again and make 100% sure my device has no holds are on it anwhewre.... carrier hold, sim hold, device hold, any hold.. The tell me nothings wrong with it. In all honesty, I never told them on the phone that I never activated activated the device, as I assumed they would of seen that.
I put a request in with sprint to provision the phone to its network and the rep didn't seem to see why she couldn't they said it would take 72 hours and I'd get am email with the outcome. It's been 8 days no email.
I'm sure the problem is that I didn't have service on the phone for the required 12 months in order to get the carrier unlock restriction.... Obviously the fact that the phone hasn't been activated is what's messing up everyone's view if the device. It has no phone number, no account to tie it too and under the system under bootloader there's nothing there it blank. The phone starts up fine, i can connect to my wifi and use it just fine. But under settings there's no network associated to it and most everything is blank. I put a correct sim sprint card in and it says invalid sim. It tries authorizing and fails. It on every reboot it tries to activate and eventually fails. It will download update, but fails with an authentication error when rebooting and installing. Phones not rooted or hacked (yet). And I've looked into the unlock companies out there and told if I can't get the phone yo ask for an unlock code when putting another sim card in, then there's nothing they can do... I can't get it to do that, no matter what shortcut / hidden menu option I try. In fact even *#06# (or variation thereof) won't pull um the imei number. It's listed in the settings. But I wonder if the fact that it's not asking for an unlock code when changing SIMS is because it's not activated anywhere. But if I activate it, will a lock be put on it immediately? And why are they locking phones 4 years old... Come on.
So is this phone just junk unless I want to pay $40 a month to Virgin for a year? On a phone that's 4 years old?
For the record I posted a message on vigin communities message board not giving IMEI number and said I'd supply it through an PM if requested and I was simply replied to with the staple "phone must be activated on our network for 12 months" line.
i hate throwing away any electronics especially ones ive never used. Is that my only option if I want to use the phone anywhere else other than virgin?
Sorry for the long winded posting...i couldn't find a decent answer anywhere on Google when searching if can you unlock a phone that's never been activated.
Help.
not oe reply? ok maybe it was too long and boring tro read so ill just condense it to one line...
is there a way to unlock a prepaid phone form Virgin that i bought 4 years ago but never activated it on any network?
When i asked Virgin they claimed there was no lock on it, in fact they didnt even see the device. But when i tried activating it on Sprint, they showed a lock and said they could provision the phone and it would be available to move in 72 hours... that was 2 weeks ago and i still can't get the phone on Sprint.
So do i need to activate a 4 year old phone on Virgin and keep it for 12 months before it will get released? I tried an unlock service and they said if it doesnt ask to enter a unlock code, they cant help... i cant get it to ask for this code.... its a Volt 2
any suggestions?>
