Player 5 INTL no luck with rj10, but stock KPH works - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Had no luck with rj10 kernel on my Player 5.0 INTL. Still stuck in boot loop after wiping out data cache etc
Stock KPH works fine (see developer subforum). Just my $0.02

rj10 is very old. The latest is rj14. I have used rj13 & rj14 with KPH, both works very well.

Kernel problem? Any help?

Hi guys i have a little dout about it
i've been flashing a few roms lately like the RESURRECTION and the FOXHOUND
my first room was the resurrection 9.5 an it was perfect but when i flash the 9.7 been havin kernel panic message and a few problems when typing messages in programs like Whatsapp where the background of the typing box shows Gray and all the hold press in here the menu shows BLACK and the letters black too, i have to guess whats the option i'm lookin for, (like the attached screenshoots)
then i though it was the rom so i flash another one that i hate it, then i flash FOXHOUND 0.5 and it runs well but have the same trouble with tex box and popup messages also some crashing promblems like the RESURRECTION, so by discarting it cant be the roms.
now thats the question it is the KERNEL?
my phone says i have
[email protected] #3
im not sure what kernel i installed it when i first install the stock ICS LPB to root the phone.
Any ideas? and what can i do?
MANY THANKS!!
Did you wipe before flashing? And if the problem occurred after some time then it's not kernel. If it happened after a kernel flash then it's kernel (although I doubt it).
You can always flash another kernel.

I wipe everything before every flash including dalvik cache thats what bothers me
and I've already flashed the latest Chainfire 5.4 kernel through CWM and the problem still there with my current ROM (foxhound)
the problem happens when i flash the RESURRECTION 9.7 and still there so thats why i think it wasn't the rom because it can be three roms in row with the problem.

If you at the moment Remix 9.7 and from screen shoots I can see it`s theme bug. This version came with Vertumus theme build in. Change you rom or wait a Remix update. West was promise today will update.

BootLoop on Stock Rom Odin INTL

Hi guys
Bascially I need to have Android 2.3 on my Galaxy WiFi 5.0, I need HD video etc so im running into a problem. I have installed Eryigit-GB-2.3.6 G70ZCKPA Galaxy Player/wifi 5.0 ROM at the minute but I really would like unmodified 2.3 ROM not this one yet when I try to use odin to flash this ROM: Galaxy Player 5.0 Gingerbread KPH 2.3.6 it says every thing went ok but the device bootloops. Now Ive tried it with just the ROM and then Flashed the Kernel INTL one and it still does this?
Any help guys thanks
Please don't reply if all you have to say is "why go back to ginger bread when there are ics roms" ino i developed a couple of them i just need helpful answers thanks

Well the obvious first thing is that the stock kernel does not support ext4, so it will not boot without access to /data and /cache. Try going into stock recovery and wiping data. If it just gives you a bunch of errors, you need to flash and *repartition* in Odin. Then try wiping in stock again.

Thanks mate i flashed Pit file along with stock ROM and it worked cheers to you

ICS to Gingerbread

I have a Sasktel Galaxy S II that I upgraded to ICS a while ago and have regretted doing so ever since. Battery life is poor, random glitches, wifi doesn't work properly... list goes on.
I can not for the life of me find the stock gingerbread rom so that I can push it from odin. sammobile only has the latest ics rom. Anyone know where I can find the stock rom? My baseband is I9100MUGLD3.
Or do custom roms have a chance of fixing the problems I am experiencing?

Aux contraire, there are GB firmwares in sammobile.com, you can just download them and flash them directly via odin..
do not forget to do the following steps:
- Boot to CWM recovery
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
- fix permissions (under advanced)
- reboot system now
I went back and searched some more.
Sammobile only lists the ICS rom under sasktel. But if you click on the more general canada drop down it lists 2.3.6 as well for my baseband.
Got it downloaded, will flash soon. I will return if I have anymore issues. Thanks!

[Q] Help please

Hello, I have a little problem with my SGS 2. I had ICS stock ROM with Syiah Kernel it was fine, yesterday I installed the last version of Resurection Remix with Aroma and Syiah kernel. Today I wanted to flash an ICS stock firmware, everything was fine until the phone first boot, it entred on bootloop ( on S logo and its effect ). I tried 3 different ROMs from sammobile and even flash with .pit, but the same problem. What can I do? Thanks a lot
Sometimes it takes up to 15 minutes on the first boot. Did you wait that long? Is your phone rooted? If so, try latest Dorimanx kernel and RootBox 3.2.
JelliBeaned SGSII
Dorimanx 7.17
Modem BVLP7
RootBox 10/11 Nightly
JusTunBean 4.1 Apps

Before Downgrading or upgrading with Diff version of Android build ( ICS > JB or JB > ICS) its better to do a Wipe Data/Factory reset to remove all the traces of previous install for a successfull flash of the new one
Try the same and see

[Q] over heating after rom flashed

I´ve flashed S4 Revolution v6 rom with no problems at all.
After going on a tour my i9300 reached 43º. I thought it was just me getting excited but it still happens.
I´m using titanium backup and removed all apps I didn´t want but didn´t improve.
After idle it´s ok but as I start using net or a few multitasks.... 43º again
Also, I´ve deleted cache, dalvik and factory as well and flashed again with no luck.
On another note, on previous S4 Revolution v5 it was fine.
Any ideas please???
Wipe phone flash stock rom and test and or read the rom thread .

any way that is based on a leaked rom and hence bugs are expected. tweak according to your requirements. else mega wipe and flash the rom again.

did that as well but same happens.
funny enough I had version 5 for some time and worked fine.
Heating can sometimes be caused by the kernel.Wipe cache partition and flash a custom kernel.

Yeah I just saw that. My bad. I guess he could always reflash the rom kernel incase its corrupt.
reinstalled rom after complete wipe and it´s working fine.
