(Q) How to unroot HTC Aria - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

what methods could i use to unroot HTC Aria?
sent from my still kicking ass aria

I just used the "S-on" method on the development site and it worked. Some language difficulties, but you should be able to figure it out. You need a copy of the HTC / AT&T 2.2 ROM update, which appears to have been taken off the HTC website. I had a copy. The method has you copy a file to the phone and then run the ROM update - he says from the phone but means from the PC. I'd post a copy of the AT&T ROM, but I have no idea how.

HTC Evo View 4G Recovery

i have HTC View, and now is keep restarting on boot, i dont know what matter with it, and am trying to recover it from bootloader, but it seems i dont have the orginal image on sd card, doesn any one have a link for it to download, i've searched sprint and htc website, and nothing found.!!
my flyer started doing this today.what rom were you using?!?!
htc logo then reboot. very warm.
wtf
Have either of you done the OTA updates? If not you can use the RUU found here to restore to factory settings. I believe it will revert everything except S-OFF / Revolutionary if you went about unlocking it. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
-mbobino
really i didnt any updates as i know, it just crashed by it owns, and i use the original ROM, so where i can find post about s-off for it?
RUU.exe
Download the above file and run it on any windows based computer and it will restore your device to stock. After you do that, if you want s-off / root, go to http://revolutionary.io and follow the directions posted there.
That should get you up and going again.
File deleted no longer there anybody know where I can get it
....you'll probably get answers in the Evo threads, I think I've comes across a few regarding this.

[Q] Rooting/ Installing CWM on HTC EVO View 4G

Hi Every one,
I have a HTC EVO View 4G from Sprint, which I'm only using it over WiFi, I just now unlocked it using HTCdev Tool from the HTC webise, and it shows is unlocked.
Now how can I obtain Root Access and install for example CyangenMod or even program as simple as Titanium Backup - Root on my Tablet?
Thanks,
Tagging along. Just picked up a View, and confused thus far. I'm good with rooting phones etc, but have never owned an HTC and getting confused the more I read.
I just haven't been able to root this. I don't know what is the advantageof HtcDev tool.

I'm guessing you didn't bother trying this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418258
It's as easy as following the step by step instructions.
You download.
You plug in device.
You use tool.
You get s-off.
You get recovery installed.
You flash custom rom or root files from recovery.
You have root.

HTC Evo 3D root problems....

I have a HTC Evo 3D and I used HTCdev's bootloader unlocker to unlock my HBoot 1.5. Trying to find a rom to flash/fastboot in order to set "s-off" and gain SU permissions. Stuck in the middle of it and dont know what to do next......wish I kept my HTC Evo 4G :-(
Any hints or advice welcome, and thanks for reading my post...
What rom are you trying to flash ?

I haven't tried to flash any roms yet when im checking out these rom pages most of them require you to be in superuser mode, which i am not yet in. only unlocked the bootloader so far. just looking for a point in the right direction from someone with HBoot 1.5 on Evo 3D who has successfully been able to get the su permissions to work with a 'stock-like' mod that just unlocks the su.
also, my S-On is still on which wont let me enable the flash from hboot so i would need a process to get it thru using my laptop
I believe i need the proper PG86IMG.zip file associated with my phone also.
I already have the correct files such as SDK, java, and htc drivers.

Take a look at the unlock guide from zedomax. It should be a sticky. Also, you won't get s-off with the htc unlock.

[Q]A few questions about flashing my HTC Flyer

Hi everyone,
Just picked up a US Wifi HTC Flyer (Best buy version, not sure if there are any others. I've looked around the forums and have come up with a few questions I hope you experts can help me with..
1) From what I see, EVO View and Flyer roms are not interchangeable. I also see some roms for Flyer that say 3G/WIFI and some that just say WIFI. Since I have the wifi model, does that mean I can use either one and it will be fine? Or I have to stick to the ones made specifically for wifi?
2) I looked at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194709
My hboot does not match those on the guide (previous owner must have done an OTA upgrade). I looked at post #2 of that thread but there are no hboot #s for the wifi model. What can I do about this? Do I go ahead and follow the guide? Do I have to downgrade?
3) If I have to downgrade (looked at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428104), how do I know which RUU file to download?
I appreciate your time and I hope someone can help me. Thank you in advance!
View and flyer are not interchangeable. You can flash all flyer roms WiFi and 3g as long as it is same version meaning gingerbread or honeycomb. What is your current hboot version, are you running honeycomb? I have the best buy gb ruu on my drop box, if you want I will post link.

I downloaded this RUU
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...9BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_191425_signed.exe
The tablet's on 3.2.1.. that's Honeycomb correct?
The hboot version is 1.11.0011.
Correct gb ruu and the downgrade link you posted was correct procedure

How about the regular S-OFF guide? Do I follow it even though my hboot doesn't match it?
When you follow the downgrade proceedure and run the ruu you hboot will change. The gb hboot is listed and will be compatible

Ah, understood. I will try it. Thanks for the help!
I followed the guide completely but when I ran the RUU file, my flyer is stuck on HTC (black with grey letters) screen. It's been about twenty minutes now. Is this normal?
Sorry I missed your comment. Did this square itself off for you? My crap laptop takes forever when I try to run a ruu exe

Yeah it worked after I did a factory reset on the tablet and tried again. I was following this guide though (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758) and when I tried to use the big file update, it was sitting for about an hour and no change. Same for when I tried to fastboot the "light" file. My hboot wouldn't look for the PG41IMG zip file either. Is something wrong? When I had an android phone, it would always automatically start looking for a PG/PD file when I was in hboot. I put it in the root of my SD card and the flyer doesn't try to look for it at all.
put it on external sd
Yeah, I literally pulled my micro SD out of the tablet and put it into the root of that SD manually.

[Q] Unroot T-Mobile HTC One

I need to unroot my T-mobile HTC One. I made a backup with CWM when I rooted the phone and I went back into that and restored that version but CWM is still on my phone and it's still rooted. I searched around and apparently you should have an RUU file to properly unroot the phone but the only version that's missing is the T-Mobile one. Every other carrier in the US seems to have an RUU file out there.
Can anybody help me unroot my phone as I have to send it in for a warranty replacement?
There currently is no RUU for the one that will be as close as you can get at the moment
