[Q] Internal loading control defect? JIG as adapter (miniUSB - MicroUSB) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I put my SGS2 for battery charging on an old car charger of my previous MDA Vario [Qtek 9100] using a JIG (which shall also serve as an adapter from Mini USB to Micro USB).
(On the charging cable (CLA-500-01/MDA Compact) no output values are given!)
The SGS2 spontaneously switched to full screen display of the table clock.
Neither sound nor charging icon could reliably be heard with this method.
- The original Samsung charger has 5V 0.7A output.
- A 'Travel Charger' (SDL4116) - NoName Charger for MDA - 5.5V 500mA
(with this device, the SGS2 behaves just like the original)
- The car charger which came with a car mount (for SGS2) has 5V output noted.
Now I had the SGS2 with the original Samsung charger again stuck on the wall.
I noticed when touching the device a slightly higher temperature.
I immediately stoped the charging process.
The battery indicator (battery settings) show 100%.
No acoustic signal for full battery!
Due to the heating of the device and the absence of the "fully charged battery" beep I have the vague feeling that somehow the internal loading control might have suffered from my 'cable-experiments'.
Yesterday I flashed the kernel with a CF-Root.
Being this responsable for the disappearing of the charging beep would be new to me.
Now I have removed the battery and posted this topic here as a precaution
and to obtain some advice.
Would it perhaps make sense to reset the battery stats with CWM?

[Q] Sat Nav & Charging Problems (Again I know)

Guys, I know this has been discussed before but this problem is subtly different to previous requests so I'm posting again.
So this is an X10 running 2.1
I have a car charger which is a 2.1amp ipad charger. I also have a 1amp standard car charger. I do not have an SE branded car adapter, but both of the above adapters trigger the charging on correctly as far as i am aware.
If I just leave the phone on charge with the screen off it charges up just fine.
If I leave the screen on with no apps running it charges fine (slower than above)
If I run Copilot with APN Data enabled the battery slowly discharges, even though the charge light is on, and the battery indicator indicates charging.
If I run Copilot and disable APN Data the battery just stays at the same level and neither charges nor discharges. It seems to meet a state of equilibrium.
I ran Copilot with APN enabled and SetCPU limiting the CPU to 225MHz and the battery still discharges (albeit at a slower rate than without SetCPU).
I have the phone screen on minimum brightness and I am not running anything else unnecessary. I have checked battery temperature and I have never seen it above 32 degrees.
The same applies for Google navigation instead of copilot. Both discharge the battery whilst on charge.
I also noticed the other day that something went a bit mental on the phone and was consuming high CPU while the phone was on my branded SE AC wall charger and the battery ran down until the phone turned itself off whilst on charge.
So, does anyone else experience the fact that the phone does not draw enough power via the USB port to cover the current draw on the battery. I have 2.1 amps available on the car adapter and its clearly not drawing anywhere near that. Running it on the 1 amp charger also makes no difference. The SE branded AC adapter is rated at 750mA.
Is this normal?
Any clues?
At the moment to complete a 6 hour journey in the car using satnav on my X10 I have to take 2 or 3 fully charged batteries with me, in addition to having it on the charger.

[Q] charging problem

I just got my Tab p7500 and i have a problem. When i connects it to the charger it gives me MTP mode and charges veeeeeeery slowly as if it's connected to a usb.
Anyone knows what is this problem ?
Are you using original charger or some compatible, f.e. from your mobile. The original gives higher output power.
Does it actually show the connected as MTP notification? If not, make sure the charger is plugged in with the black wall adapter that came with it, since that gives it the full (10W i think) of power. If you plug it into one of those generic usb bars(like the Belkin mini surge protector), you will get only the power output meant for mobile devices and will charge very slowly.
i have the same problem
It takes me approximately 4 hour from zero to 100% with the original charger...
i just recently had the same problem.
buying a new adapter solved the problem. it seems that samsung's chargers aren't that good of a quality. (my sgs2's is working, but the outer part of the cable started to split so i had to fix it with some shrink tube...)

Reasons for battery icon flashing/blinking while charging

Donno if its the regular case of 'bad usb port'. It's happening only when I'm charging with specific car charger (1A, output 5V) sometimes its charging fine, sometimes I notice its stop charge and the icon of battery is blinking/flashing...
I've tried to clean the usb cable and port from dust, maybe the cable got some dust into it?
Also I've notice that the temperature of device goes down to 22°C when its happening...
At any other chargers (include othe car chargers and other wall chargers) there is no problem at all...
What could be the reason of this specific car charger (it used to work without any problem the last few months ago)?
High/Low voltage? Dust?
maybe other problem with my device? (Battery/something else)
BTW - when I plug the charger out when its happening its stop blinking.
could you please give us a screenshot?
Do the blow thing

From reading your post, it only happens with that one charger....any other charger works as expected?
That being the case.....it ain't your phone or the USB port/board in the phone.....
Chargers DO fail, and from my experience, dc to dc step down transformers and circuitry (the type in your car charger) have a higher failure rate than their ac to dc (mains) equivalents. ....
Time to buy a new car charger methinks

@wishmas7er - which screenshot mate? when its happens all I see is blinking/flashing battery icon, without any other message or something else about it.
@keithross39 - correctly mate, all other charger (any kind of them) works just fine.
Yeah seems like its the car charger problem, just first time i've notice it...
Thanks!
BTW - the reason of 'bad touch' while charging with some generic chargers is because higher amperage then should be to this device's battery? or other reason?
As long as the amperage is not ludicrously high or low, the only noticeable difference would be the charge time.....other than that there should be no noticable effect....

Battery Icon Flashing with Samsung Galaxy S4 Car Charger
I had the same problem charging my Galaxy S4 in the car. AC charging works fine but when plugged into the DC car charger the battery indicator icon flashed rather than showing the lightning bolt.
I purchased a higher voltage DC charger adapter, same symptom.
Finally I swapped out the USB-to-micro cable and now it works fine. I suspect that in the car the phone gets jarred over time and it wears down the micro-USB connector.
It's not just you fella........
The micro USB socket idea is (imo) a pathetically fragile arrangement for what the manufacturers intend it to do. I've repaired two phones with worn out sockets, and judging by what I am reading on XDA, it is an issue that is getting more and more common.........

So I'm experiencing the same blinking problem with my note 4. Each time the lightning icon blinks the phone vibrates in sync with it. And ithe galena with all charges. I have to keep unplugging and replugging ...and OCCASIONALLY it charges. I don't know what's the problem

I have same problem with my nexus 4.
After some googling I came across an app called Ampere.
This app tells you how much rate of current your battery is charging at.
So what i found is that when phone gets old the battery doesnt hold up charge as before. So the charge rate becomes slow. The nexus charger is rated at 1Amp and at the time of charging is able to provide low current than the rate at which the battery is draining. So the Android gets confused between charging and discharging.
For eg: if phone is charging at 300mA and draining at 350mA.
Also the battery draining rate is constantly changing. So when its greater than charging rate phone shows discharging and if less : charging...
Fix: There are three fixes which i can think ...
1) Get a higher Amp rated charger...
2) while charging close most of apps , dont play games , switch to a lower gen network like 2g , close wifi , close data which will reduce the discharge rate of the battery.
3) Get a new battery.
So I'm experiencing the almost the same blinking problem with my note 4. Each time the lightning icon blinks the phone vibrates in sync with it. It won't come on it won't reboot I've tried everything BUT replace the battery because if I plug it up it'll vibrate and blink but nothing else works. It's completely black when it's unplugged.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 - charging too long with original cable

The thing is.. When I use original charger and original cable I had with phone in the box, it charges so slowly it can actually discharge while for example using skype.
Also funny thing is in settings/more/battery (android 4.3) it shows Charging (USB) when I am connected to the wall socket. The app "Galaxy charging current *lite*" shows it is receiving 460mA right now at average. It takes like whole night to charge. (at the time of posting it was 460mA, but I have to notice ,that using this original cable and charger from wall socket, phone itself somehow changes how much mA it takes as it varies from 100 up to 500 from long time observation)
When I use small micro usb – usb cable from my old Nokia 5800 Xpress music, it is charging at 1000mA and can charge even when using skype or anything else. With this cable I can charge from 0% to 100% in about 1-or 1,5h. (Here it is always constant - 1000 mA on average using that app)
I was googling and reading some posts from people with some S3 charging problems, and found that cables are the reason. I have noticed by visual comparison of S3 original cable and nokia cable that on the micro usb side, S3 cable has visible only 4 pins but nokia has visibl 5 pins.
1. Is the pin amount on usb micro side the reason for slower charging rate ?
2. But why the hell my phone thinks I am charging from USB when it is connected to wall socket when using original cable and charger ?
3. Is it safe to use that nokia cable to charge my phone ?
Thank you for replies !
Throw away the faulty charger, rating of the replacement is irrelevant as the phone controls the current used.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I apologize, may be because english is not my mother tongue, I do not undesrtand clearly what you are saying. Especially this part "rating of the replacement is irrelevant as "
May be I described my problem not accurately. I attached the photo of things I am writing about. I use still the same charger (number 1) I just either use original samsung cable I had with my S3 (number 2) or original nokia 5530 micro usb cable (number 3)
With S3 cable and original charger (1 + 2) it charges slowly and app in phone shows it gets at maximum 500 mA. Full charging (from 0% to 100%) takes about 8 hours at least. Also, sometimes the phone shows its connected to USB, although I am connected to wall socket. The thing is, that even when it shows AC, the app in the phone still shows it is getting somewhere between 100-500 mA. So charging is still slow. I have also noted, that current changes during the cycle of charging. Or even when I unplug and plug the charger, it sometimes changes the current (mA shown in the app)
When I use Nokia cable (1+3), current is always 1000 mA. Charging time is something more than hour (from 0% to 100%). Using the same charger, just changing the cable.
So I am unsure if it is safe to use that nokia cable. Can it somehow damage my battery or phone ?
Is the behavior of the original charger and cable (1+2) ok ?
Throw part 2 away.
Part 3 will not damage your phone.

Samsung S9 plus does not turn on (no response on buttons)

Hi everyone,
I've just got used S9+ with deep discharged battery.
I've tried to charge it over usb (with and without QC), over wireless (with and without QC) and simultaneously, which had no luck.
After that I disassembled phone and check battery voltage - it was about 1v (on Li, before controller).
I've charged it with special charger to about 4v (about 2000 mAh) - voltage on battery connector came to about 4v, looks like controller inside battery is sill alive.
But the phone is still not responding for any combinations with power button.
While cable connected, phone takes about 100mA, wireless charging about 600mA (looks like 500mA goes as losses and powers charger lights).
Of course I've checked my cables and chargers on another phone.
Does anyone got this problem? Could I save my motherboard? New one will cost over 200 usd for G965F DS version.
No ideas ?
