I can't really help you since i don't have a xt912 but you should post some other info to get people's help, like the rom you are using, when it stopped working etc
OK, I'm rooted stock 181,don't use the camera a lot but I noticed problem after ota from 173,I had to use matts dru to get back to 173 because of something I did wrong when I originally rooted

Stock cam seem to focus only on a small spot, which results in blurriness.
Many people here recommends ICS camera+. I am personally using camera zoom fx and it works awesome, great camera great effects great controls.
just try another rom or clean you camera glass

Hi, I'm attempting to install the d3 camera in cm7 alpha, since the reg camera sucks.
I put it in system/apps, and I also tried data/apps. Both things say it wont install. Does anyone know how to make it install?

I have heard that the camera does not work....but that was for the pre-beta release.
Anyway, did you try installing the camera using CWM? That's the best way to install it. Then you could download Rom Manager and click on "fix permissions" to get it to work.
Hope it works for you.
The D3 camera won't work.
Also, apps like LGCamera won't work.
You'll have to wait for the dev team to fix it.
Dont bother about d3 camera.image quality is subpart as compared to ATRIX cam

Why do you say that it is subpar? I mean its on the same hardware so there shouldn't be a difference.
Anyways there are multiple reasons why the D3 camera and atrix camera apps wont work.
1) the camera for cm7 prerelease is buggy (obviously) and works only sometimes
2) the atrix and d3 (as far as I am aware of) is built for 2.3.4, and cm7 is 2.3.5. There could be library issues.

I believe that in order for another camera app to work you would need to modify your kernel. correct me if I'm wrong.
I have tested this thoroughly on CM7 Pre-Beta, installing different cameras and camera apps.
Everyone knows the camera needs to be fixed for many reasons. Don't bother trying to flash other cameras or camera apps. The will not work at the moment.
Does anybody know if the install goes correctly, sorry if it's already been asked. I just don't want to brick my phone.

I didn't want to bump this thread, but I really want an answer. Sooo, anybody know?
For me on the .173 software it failed but did not brick my phone. But until the bootloader is unlocked/bypassed the razr can not run an aosp rom. + juice defender ultimate ran horribly for me, ive used it on many other phones that it worked wonderful, the razr it did not.

So that means that since my Razr isn't running an AOSP based ROM that it's highly unlikely that even on .181 it will be able to run, unlikely but not impossible?
Never mind, I put on my big boy pants and checked it for myself. It worked fine. And I love the new battery saving features.

Black Widow is a AOSP Rom, isn't it? And juicedefender runs very well on my razr for three months now.

A fully aosp rom includes the kernel, and since we cant boot custom kernels no rom for our phone can be built solely from the android open source project. I might have to give jd another try, do you guys still get the lag when it initiates 4g?

AOSP works for 65.1.40 2.3.6 asia stock rom.

What do you mean lag? I haven't botched anything service damaging like that. But I just set up jd and leave it.

But now we can boot custom kernels using kexec, right? Ok, second core doesn't work but a good ICS custom ROM with a good kernel running on single core beats a stock ROM which is running on dual core. So I think it would be nice if a custom kernel could be built.

It's been a while since I've tried jd, the last time I did I had horrible lag when I turned on the screen to data connectivity initiating. The dev might have updated since then.

Kexec is close, I can't use it on my DROID RAZR yet, but very promising. I'd guess most devs will wait for the official update to ics's source drop by moto, giving how hard it is to find/build drivers for the h/w.

I'm thinking about getting the RAZR maxx for my graduation present but are there any roms available for it that are stable and don't have too many issues?

There's Eclipse, Gummy, and Black Widow are the least bugs. I would say that Eclipse is best as it has no bugs, but it is no longer supported by nitroglycerin33.

I can second that Eclipse has no bugs. Eclipse is great. I haven't tried Gummy on the RAZR, but it has a great reputation across most phones. As far as Black Widow, I had never heard of it until purchasing my RAZR, but everyone seems to be singing its praises, so it is definitely worth looking into.
Also, you can check out the .75 ICS leak. Do not do the .84/.85 ICS leaks, as you cannot return from them. .75 does not have this problem and runs pretty smoothly. I rarely notice any bugs, and when I do, it's something minor like a few-second transition freeze or something.
If you like to run ICS, try Black Widow, very stable and fast, only issues: no h/w accel. and no camcorder (taking photos is working fine, also frontcam working). You also can flash the new ICS-Leak, but NO WAY BACK for now...so take you time to think about it
Eclipse all the way if you want all features working. If you dont care about camcorder or netflix Gummy is really nice. I used it for a few days, but i NEED a camcorder so had to go back to eclipse. As far as I know, the leaks have full working camcorder, still have to try them,
I'm currently on black widow and is running great with little to no issues. The only issue I've come across is using juice defender, but other than that, awesome ROM.

Coming from an unlocked electrify...I love jokersax cm9, but it's just too buggy still...it's getting there...but for now I need a stable ROM that is above stock.
Need the following working for sure:
Camera
Video, preferably 1080p
Mms
Hdmi support for Motorola lapdock
But I would prefer there to be little to no bugs at all.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

well if you're that picky why not just stay on the blur rom(s)??
cm7 is really good. however you won't get webtop or anything like that on any non-blur roms. but it otherwise has everything else working pretty well.

Howdy. I'm looking to replace stock Jelly Bean on my rooted RAZR xt912 with a custom ROM that works.
Issues I'm looking to fix with this move:
Ability to run pdanet so I can wifi tether without eating up my limited data plan.
Ear speaker stops working after some time; I have to use a headset or speakerphone to hear the caller.
Battery life is abysmal.
System runs slow, even after recent factory reset.
I need a ROM that's stable and has everything working (camera Bluetooth, wifi, calling, google services, etc...) Because this is my only phone right now and I'm on the road away from home.
Any suggestions, ideas, or pointers would be great!

Your best bet would be stick based custom ROMs. U can try Rage ROM, dwiz1.0 , jelly wiz or any other stock based ROM that works with your kernel

Alright, I may do that. I've been digging around here looking for a section or area where ROM's are posted, but I don't seem to be finding it.
Is there a section or area set aside for ROM's, perhaps sorted by device?

Here are the roms for Droid RAZR here on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1363 There are also some on droid-hive: http://droid-hive.com/index.php?/forum/455-roms/ and droidrzr: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/forum/156-droid-razr-roms/ If you're looking for customization and features, go for an AOSP-based rom like cyanogenmod or aokp. If you don't care so much about features but want more stability, go for a stock/moto-based ROM.
I'm using LiquidSmooth. It's Android 4.2.2 and I use it as my daily driver. Only problems I have are random freezes and reboots, but the benefits if this ROM way outweigh that problem.
Sent from my DROID RAZR Maxx using XDA Premium
Liquidsmooth and carbon rom are very good roms my recommendation is liquidsmooth cuz its stable and abt random freezes u have to disable lockscreen by setting it to none....
I have been a cyanogenmod fan since my old Droid X. When I went with my Razr MAXX I was disappointed that it wasn't available, so I settled with Arctic for a good long while. I really liked the ROM, however as soon as Cyanogenmod was available I jumped on board ASAP. The only thing they don't have working is the HDMI output, but I don't use that feature anyways, so who cares.
Anyhow,,,,,,,,,,,, the instructions are VERY easy to follow and I have very little trouble with it. It's not what they call a stable release, but then in my opinion it's still way more stable than many others I've tried!

guys, the man said that he needs EVERYTHING to work!
do not mislead him with kexec who still has issues!!!
see this:

I recommend BW v2, aviator with stock kernel and Eclipse
the last one is the best from my point of view, only think is it needs verizon christmas leak kernel
if you can flash this kernel, try eclipse
PACman is pretty good.

Completely agree with you there, Eclipse is probably my favorite Razr Jellybean rom! Great performance, great battery life and just the right amount of visual adjustments!
