HI Everyone,
So here's what I did.
I installed clockworkmod recovery using rom manager (after unlocking and rooting) and then installed the touch recovery using the blob method.
then i booted into cwm touch recovery and was fiddling around when i touched "key test" in the advanced menu.
I got a message that debugging mode is on or something like that and 'press "back" to exit debugging mode"
It shows me a number based on what key I press or which direction i swipe etc. but i cant go "back" which means i'm stuck here!
now in my previous device (x10 mini pro) i just used to yank the battery out in case of screw ups like this. but i obviously cant do that in my prime. and i dont want to wait till the battery runs out.. prime has a gigantic battery it could be a full day till that happens!
Please...somebody... help!
EDIT: NVM Held power button +vol_down for a few seconds and it rebooted
Thank you so much. I thought I was going to have to wait for the battery to die.

Just saying.. you should really install twrp instead of cwm... it will burn you at some point.... if you dont want to go the nvflash route with the modded bootloader.. message me cause I do have an older version that doesn't require it....

SO i installed android on my friends touchpad. Every went off without a hitch. I rebooted into recovery to flash a new rom and without thinking, i forgot that His home button isnt working. SO now im in recovery and i cant get out. I can only move up and down. The power button only goes back so i cant use it to choose "reboot"
ANy suggestion on getting this thing out of recovery?
Tama
wait for the battery to die?
Plug it into ur PC .. and do adb shell reboot
Sent from my Touchpad using xda premium
I just let the battery die on it. Got it back on.
Its kind if useless at some points. Like i cant use the dual boot option to pick an OS cause i cant press enter.
If almost the power button was set as an enter button then we would be in business.
Thanks for the tip guys.
PS: I couldnt use the ADB command as it wouldnt pick up the device when i inquired for devices.

I tried to not start a new thread but ... I'm at a loss so here's the sitch..
I rooted, unlocked, and installed CWM using ViperMOD tool here
I got successful on upon running the program. Confirmed root, proceeded to unlock and install CWM. Like I said, the messages informed me of no errors and got successful. HOWEVER, when I power off the prime and attempt to button combo into recovery, the phone just boots up. I don't see text to even press the volume up button.. the only text I see is the asus kernel splash and boot ani..
I then went to RM and tried to flash CWM that way.. again i got successful but button combo's aren't working or I'm just not getting it right.. (thought, you should know I tried bout every damn combo I could think of, AFTER reading an trying what is suggested.) So then I tried rebooting into recovery via RM.. phone just reboots. I then tried installing touch recovery via RM.. got successful but again, no way to boot into recovery.
According to RM my current recovery is 5.8.x.x
I read another way to install CWM via BLOB, but I've also read installing anything BLOB after installing CWM will lead to a brick. Obviously I'm trying to avoid that. For the love Android, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be really happy. Thank you!
*EDIT****UPDATE**
This is a little confusing as i just watched yet another how-to vid.. and this one showed booting into recovery from power on .. and I don't believe it but it worked. Finally saw the 3 text lines at the top when Asus spash showed up. I powered off the Prime and tried again.. no problems whatsoever.
I'm sorry for starting a new thread.. believe me, I started searching yesterday and gave up at 11:30 last night.. started my quest again this morning and no dice so I started a new thread. Again.. Jerdog, I'm sorry man. Ugh.. feeling pretty bad about this thread now. If it can be deleted, please do. Otherwise close.. :-\

I must have NVFlashed my TF101 100x cause i thought CWM didnt do on because i use quickboot and it didnt go to recovery and i didnt know how to get it there but then i figured it out, so since my prime is the same its GRAVY, at least you got it now!!!
food for thought: i have flashed my sgs and my maguro countless times both combined, and i never ever encountered such an error. Either adb reboot recovery, native rom option or if neither are available, button combo.
/offtopic: i'm eager to see what nvflash can do. definately more powerful than fastboot
Hello,
about 2 hours ago I decided that I would unlock my device (before that I read maximum informations that I could). Unlocking went fine and I also installed TWRP 2.1.3 (through ViperMod). So far so good.
Then I made backup in TWRP in case something goes wrong. I was going to try AOKP v40 so I downloaded it via goo manager and then I flashed it in TWRP Install option (and also installed gapps) and wiped cache. Device rebooted and I was stuck at AOKP boot animation for about 15 minutes when I decided to recover back. So I rebooted, restored and rebooted.
Now I'm stuck at first boot logo (eee pad). When I try to do VolDown+Power to get into recovery it doesn't ask for VolUp, but goes straight to selection of Wipe or USB. When I select fastboot or wait 10 secs device frozes. (I haven't tried wipe, just in case it would be needed to unbrick).
I read thread about unbricking (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514088) and to me it seems like option 3, but I don't see recovery option.
In device manager I have 'ASUS Fastboot Interface'.
Here's video how it looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BGd1PIVbn8
Please please could anyone help me?
Btw: Is there any chance to shut down? Holding power button just resets, so does pinhole... :/

Shouldn't it be volume and power down to get to the option to press volume up for recovery?
Are you familiar with fastboot flashing recoveries? Either way that will be helpful info for us to have.
Most important thing, this is no big deal at all, it's really a minor issue. Don't let yourself get stressed out over it, the community will make sure you're good to go.

Nope, this is my first time flashing.
You say you dont see the VOL_UP message. From the video it looks like it is there. You just did not press it within 5 seconds.
Once it comes up, let go of the buttons ;p

nope it's not there. I was holding voldown from the start and as soon as it should say 'press volup for recovery' (time 0:04) it jumps (skips 5 seconds of waiting) directly to wipe/fastboot options (wipe is one that is selected on video)
Ok so I managed to fix my problem thanks to hanzo001's thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662158). Someone should add this instructions to the [HOW-TO] Unbrick your Transformer Prime (or not) thread.

Hi guys, i'm MICHEL and i from Brasil!
I want to make a upgrade in 2.2 android of the Gtablet, cause it not works anymore perfectly (for example: google play is gone, i can't install it whatever happens) . I read here that i can to make a upgrade to honey comb or honey something, i guess, but i need make a Clock Work Recovery and update first in my tablet. So this is my F"[email protected]$#!# problem, cause the sequence: copy the ‘recovery’ folder as well as the ‘update.zip’ file to the INTERNAL memory of your tablet and turn your tablet off and reboot it into stock recovery by pressing the ‘Power’ button while keeping the ‘Volume Up’ button pressed not WORKS. Nothing happens, the tablet freeze in a first screen, with the up left popup that say "RECOVERY KEY DETECTED" all day long.... Please Help me or i'll really throw my "GdisgustingTablet" in a trash...

You have installed the wrong CWM for your current bootloader version.
Just ship it to my home..

Hello Good People,
My Z Ultra arrived and it was already rooted from the previous owner.
I booted up into TWRP and couldn’t do a backup because it would not display completely on the screen, so I couldn’t select an features.
I had to reboot the device by holding the power button and the volume up key.
Sadly I can no longer access recovery.
I have holding the volume up button will reboot but it simply takes me to the desktop(normal boot)
I have rooted all my devices but this Z Ultra seems a bit more complicated than others.
Can some please walk me through the steps of exactly what files are needed to get me recovery back.
Also I have the TWRP Manager.app, can I choose a file can do it that way? if so which file name do I pick from the long list?
T.I.A.
I thought I resolved my issue by downloading:
ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.7.154-BETA.installer.zip
Option 1
And it reinstalled TWRP!
Device rebooted into TWRP, I created a background and rebooted the device.
Now I cannot boot/reboot into Recovery again;(
Someone said to press the up/down button a couple of times when you see the pink LED. I dont get a pink LED it goes straight to green.
Can someone please tell me what to do?
T.I.A.
The recovery may still be installed.
Turn off the device, when you see the Sony logo and the green light, hold the "volume up" button.
You should boot to recovery.
Another option is to install Xposed and the Wanam module. Then activate the Power Options menu, which allows you to reboot to recovery.
Thanks for the response.
I was able to get into recovery, and do a backup.
After the backup the phone will not reboot. It has been hours now and no button combo will get it to boot up
Need serious help please
Did you back up your TA initially? You might need to reflash to stock and start again using flashtool and the necessary ftf file.
I would recommended this. It was what helped me start off on my XZU.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569904

Yes, got it resolved.
It must have been a battery related issue during the flashing.
In the end combined with a hard reset got the device back up and running.
I lost my root and everything so now I need to locate a ROM for this Sony version.
Thanks!
Ndrutil on the Play Store is an easy way to boot from the rom into recovery also..
