Hi,
I've bought a MHL/HDMI cable for displaying SII screen on TV. Unfortunately I only get a blocked image!
As recommended, my cable is linked to the charger and I also disabled "USB debbuging".
Any idea? Thanks in advance!
Which Rom are you running? Only Samsung based roms have full MHL functionality. Aosp doesnt have at all, and Aokp is rather problematic.

Its the infinity ROM based on CM10...
So no solution?

When you installed that ROM, there were big warnings about reading known issues.

not in particular.
Here is the thread with the ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1712961
What is a Samsung based ROM?

It quite clearly states bugs, which if you bothered to read includes all CM9 bugs. I presume the "dev" means CM10 but both don't support MHL anyway.
hi. just install a dual boot-able kernel such as siyah, which works great and install a samsung rom on 2nd partition for these ocasions when you use hdmi..

Thank you all for your help!
Is there an example of Samsung ROM?
WanamLite.
Samsung roms are ones that are based on Samsung stock firmware.

I couldn't find any specifik thread with the search option here so forgive me if it was already asked (if it's wrong section also sorry)
I have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500. I just have Stock ROM (Honeycomb 3.2) and I was searching for a kernel that allows you to overclock the Tegra 2. I saw some people talk about the Pershoot kernel which allows you to overclock with SetCPU (I already bought it once for my smartphone so that's not a prob).
But the problem is screen is rolling over and over again.
People had similair problem with Clockworkmod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1555984
Does anyone know how I can fix this? If not maybe other OC kernels I can try? Cause I hope I can use overclock with my tab
Which kernel are you using exactly (post a link)? Because that sounds like you flashed the wrong version. For Honeycomb 3.2 this (select the right one for your model) is the latest pershoot's kernel: http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2479
I was using the following file: "boot-cm_2636.4_p4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-010912"
I indeed downloaded that file from the site you give me now.
Have you considered using a custom ROM?
Here's a list of what's available: [All ROM][P7500/P7510]Odin Image and Customs in One Place
I was trying to do it without using a custom rom. But there isn't anyway to use oc kernel without using a custom kernel?

The post you linked is for GT P7510 then suddenly it works for P7500 at the bottom of the page. Should we use the kernel suggested by the original poster?
HC 3.2:
10.1-Wifi, Touchwiz UX (OTA, GT-P7510):
boot-cm_2636.4_ux_hc32-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-010912.zip:
I have 3G Galaxy tab P7500. Should I use the kernel above? or should I use the ones that works for me. But then for Vergeten12 he downloaded the 010912 version and did not work. Can anyone help me to choose which kernel works with original Android 3.2?
Btw, I wanted to update my kernel to 2.6.36.4 is because with my current kernel 2.6.36.3 it does not play the HDTV adaptor well (choppy and sound came on and off every 3 seconds). I read from other forum that pershoot 2.6.36.4 kernel can fix this, but I do not want to use CM, just want to use the stock firmware (original firmware?) sorry, I am new to the vocabulary in this forum.

I rather not change my firmware if possible. So, if there is a way to upgrade the kernel without changing to CM9, I prefer that. I just want to use the recently purchased hdtv adapter smoothly with my tab.
Thanks
Look man, i had the same problem and after months of search i figured out that there is some kind of problem when you flash the pershoot kernel you mentioned to our 3g tabs. I had this problem in stock + pershoot and also in overcome + pershoot. But if you let your tab load to unlock screen and pres power buton to sleep screen and then press it again to wake it up the screen stops rolling and all is fine. But you have to do it once every time you power on your tab? Is this helpfull? It works for you?

Of you manage to flash a p7510 kernel into your tab 3g will stop working
Erm if you want a stock optimized rom go dutchdanny it'd awesome

I dunno. I kinda give up on this pershoot kernel stuff. I am just doing firmware upgrade to 2.36.6.4 firmware. And nothing else. The tutorial is not user friendly for pershoot kernel update.
Is this kernel can cause some display (at TV) issues?
I'm using samsung STOCK ROM [LPG], with the original kernel I had no issues - tried 2 different devices, each had different samsung stock rom [but both 4.0.3].
With siyah kernel at both devices [one had 3.3.3d, second 3.4.1] I had some little disturbing issue sometimes, when loading pages / rotate screen seems like the transmission is lost for a few seconds.
Tried at the same TV , with 2 MHL [one original] and had the same situation...
Can the kernel cause this issue?
any way to fix it ? [except changing kernel]
mhl best works with stock ROM/kernel. I think it it's ROM specific. Some roms support it, some don't

both devices with stock ROM - LPG and LP7 , when I installed siyah kernel iv notice this issue.... so maybe its a kernel fault ? [with stock kernel had no problem]
even though this kernel should work fine with mhl [its working but with little issue of "lose connection" sometimes]
Anyone notice this 'little issue' too with siyah kernel (and stock ROM) ? or can confirm its the kernel cause it ?
Yeah

Althought Im running a non stock ROM, wich is an aberration called "Aberration" (lol) It cane with a Siyah kernel, and I have those connection losses that you mention. Also, the overall MHL quality is horrible.
Are there any XDA links to a stock ROM AND kernel?
Greetings
is possible to dualboot cm10.1 and shostock3 using siyah kernel??
No.
Read in the syiah thread. Not possibke right now, but there's some funky work around thee towards the end of the thread.

No. You can't use anything Samsung based with dual boot.

Just passing a long with the info. But I still won't recommend doing it still.
AJ Newkirk said:
It might be possible somehow, but it is very unlikely....I would not hold my breath.
the /preload partition was not used by the ROM prior to the Samsung JB ROMs and is used to house the 2nd ROM's /system.
/preload is now used in the Samsung JB ROMs.
There might be some sort of work around, but if so it will not come from me.
EDIT: Actually...someone appears to have made it happen with an I9100 ROM. Anyone trying this is entirely on their own tho.

I've been searching for months now on this and had no luck. I'm running the s2 s959g ( straight talk model) which is similar to the i777 model, paranoid rom , and sti kernel. I've made my otg cable but I can't seem to find a kernel that supports it. Any suggestions?

I know Shostock supports it, and I am pretty sure Mr.Cook's will too. You need a Samsung based ROM for OTG. This will limit you to 4.1.2 ROMS I believe.

Well snap that's where I was going wrong. Didn't know it was limited to Samsung based Roms only. Really thought it was just something that had to do with the kernel thanks for that!

Hello all,
I tried to put omnirom on my galaxy s3 i9305, but I got status 7.
So I removed the lines (getprop...), but still didn't work.
Than I flashed Perseus kernel on it, because I thought that this will be necessary. I'm not sure if this is the fault, but now the touchscreen doesn't work anymore.
I installed Samsung stock rom but touchscreen still doesn't work.
In stock rom, isn't there also the kernel integrated?
Must I search now for Samsung original kernel?
And why I am not able to install omnirom, although one time it worked.
What version of TWRP do I need to install omnirom with android 4.4.2 and where do I get it from?
Thank you very much for your answers.
Matthias

the problem I've seen the recovery or flash a kernel that is not the model of mobile. are you sure the kernel or the recovery was for your model?
Well,
I was wondering, too, why I get status 7 which means wrong model.
But in the back of the phone it says i9305, and I downloaded kernel and omnirom for the i9305.
Do I need a new kernel anyway?

You are in the wrong forum this is not I9305 q&A
Does that mean you have flashed firmware for I9300???
Any way you now need a paid for service repair .
No, I flashed for i9305.
But there are stock kernels in Internet available, can't I use one of them?
Sorry for the wrong forum.

i've read a couple of days ago that a guy flashed a galaxy note 2 kernel on his i9300 and the same thing happened to him too. his touchscreen wasn't working although he flashed an original rom via odin. only the physical buttons were working. the note 2 kernel he flashed fried something on the mobo so he had to change his touchscreen.
you can download and flash an original rom (they have stock kernels built into them).
good luck
Yes usual is fried digitizer .
