I want and ordered the palm stuff, i'de like to add the rite terminals to the mb. Anyone no where to get them? Im gona order a rear frame with the cuttouts if this can be done. I know about thw copper foil and wrapping it around the frame bu wana make the phone look completely stock and if/when a real cover becomes available I could just swap out the battery cover. Thanks guys.

This is what I used for anybody with a verizon phone. I did it this way so if a real cover comes out I can just pop it on. It works great

Does anyone else have this issue? The middle clip on the power side wont clip down properly. I had to trim a tiny bit off the clip hole in the phone to get it to stay down. Even then its still bulges a bit.

my white note has no problem. I open and close it daily to replace the battery. It is holding up fine.

Mine does it too, and Samsung will not replace it under warranty for whatever reason. They want me to pay to replace it, but don't know if the replacement part has the nfc. AT&T offered to replace the phone under warranty as I am well past my 30 days. It just pops off on its own, real annoying.

Mine is OK. But I went out and bought the black hard cover. It looks cool and protects the screen while in transit.
XDA Note
The reason it happens is because you've broken either one or several of the clips on the cover itself. Happens on mine too.

No. I have had three notes and 2 out of 3 had the problem and the covers were all fine. It just depends on if you get a solid one.

Before I go spend money on many stylus' for my little project, I would like peoples input.
I plan to take the standard stylus and put a pen into ot and used the metallic end as a cap and itll still fit into the gnote. Any advice or thoughts? I couldnt find a stylus like this.

Ok,I cut two squares out of the plastic to expose the charging contacts.
This is confusing, it looks clean though

Looks like he cut two squares out of the plastic to expose the charging contacts. If anyone sells parts for these we could just buy the plastic from a variant that comes with access holes and put it on the Verizon version.

The last person i recall trying to swap the rear frames ended up with no LTE and no wifi. :crying:
It looks strightforward, but i would definitely like some more detail from the OP.
Did you have to add an copper material to the charging contacts in order for them to make contact with the QI terminals?
Unless our phones differ then yes he added material I did a similar process works great
Any1 trying this you need to be very careful
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
What did you add? It seems like it would be easier and safer to add a good bead of solder to each terminal on the QI piece. This way if you do make a mistake you're ruining the charging accessory and not the phone.

From my experience doing this via the copper tape method, he would've not only had to do this but attached the charging pins to the motherboard that are seen through the mid piece as well.

LOL are you [email protected]#ing kidding me. Verizon blocked up the contacts with plastic on their version of the phone, but left the actual internals the same?
WHY.
"Herp derp here let's take this amazing internationally launched phone and derp it down to our herp level." Stupid [email protected]#ing morons.
Ye I dont get it is it just under all thi

Sure.
I solder two stock contacts on the motherboard.
And cut two square holes in the plastic frame.
Buy a N7100 QI wireless charging back cover.
With any QI standard charging pad.

Where'd you get these pins to solder to the motherboard?

I've also been wondering where one can get those pins. I've not had much luck sourcing them.
Ben
Lmao, seriously. Verizon provides good service only because they invested in lte instead of another technology, unlike the other carriers, and lte won. I don't even care that they put their name on everything.they can do whatever they want with that respect. But they make some stupid decisions sometimes..stupid for the consumer at least. I can't guess what they benefit from doing that

I got those pins and QI charger from taobao.com, about $40.
Does the back cover for wireless charging sacrifice nfc functionality? Might have been why big red decided to not include it on our 605s... They try to do the thinking for us and protect us from ourselves
Props to whoever found the contacts on the board!

I have opened one for replacing the LCD, didn't knew gluing back would be a problem :/
I think you can use those 3M double sided tapes for phones or 3M Digitizer Frame Adhesive Double Sided Stick Tape
Look them up on Amazon.

Then what do you want?
I have opened the og RAZR 910 several times for fun, and to revert the maxx batt upgrade. Usually, there is enough adhesive to restick.
This cover is obviously not held on by much and is barely functional as a dust cover. Make sure it's snapped on tight, use a little heat(hair dryer) to refresh what is left if the stock adhesive, and/or add some tape as has been suggested. You could probably use viscous adhesive putty sometimes found in reusable closure packaging; look around, and you sure to find something suitable. There are plenty of online stores that will sell OEM replacement parts for reasonable prices as well.

I have a real physical job(cable guy) and theres plenty of times where I fumble my phone from the holster or need to take a quick pic or need quick access to the S pen,I felt like modding my defender holster with my dremil for easy access for the camera lense,S pen,and using it as a kick stand..( lol.I need to replace my bit)

Dude- Good idea- But not quite clean..Looks like you butchered the holster.
maybe next time take your time and more careful when cutting.

Yea my bit is dull, as you cut into plastic theres a small portion that bubbled up, so I switched to the sander bit to smoothen it out but when you sand plastic it changes from the original color..no biggie for me just a holster thays gonna be under my shirt or tool belt.

I have always done this since my first Defender on the iphone4. It just pops right out.
As for the mod in the OP it's a good idea but yes I'd recommend cutting only the area where the camera and pen are. You can practice with an 1/8" drill bit on a Dremel at mid speed. Go slow and don't use too fast a spindle speed or the plastic will melt. Even if it does ball up a bit it's easy to remove. Once you drill the initial hole closer to the middle of your target area you can cut your way to the outlined area with ease. When a more specialized cutting device isn't available, this works great. This is the principle that the Rotozip uses.
