Hi everyone!
I'm new here, cause its been shor time having the Neo V. I love it.
Yesterday I wanted to install a custom ROM, so I started the tutorial here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269.
I had the 4.0.4.a.0.62 rom, so I downgraded to 4.0.4.a.0.42. After that I rooted the phone as mentioned in another website. There was no problem on this because I've had other rooted smartphones and I can tell I rooted this one correctly.
After that I did the TP bootloader unlocking, and I'm pretty sure I did it ok, since when I identify the smartphone using s1tool, both codes start with "r", not with "R", as stated in this image:

After that I installed CWM without problem (I can access it correctly).
Now, with all that done, I can't access the fastboot mode to flash a kernel and all this stuff. I'm doing it correctly: pressing the "menu" and plugging the USB cable. May it have something to do with PC drivers? (I don't think so, I would say that if the pc didnt have the drivers it wouldnt recognize the neo v in fastboot mode, but it would boot in this mode anyway... even though, I've installed the fastboot drivers onto my PC sooo....) I DON'T KNOW THE PROBLEM! Any help will be MUCH appreciated!!
Thanks a lot in advance!
AW: [Q] Can't enter fastboot mode in my Neo V...
You need working fast boot drivers to connect your phone.
Some people who had that problem tried if on another PC and there it worked. If you can you should try.

Thanks for your answer. The problem is that the phone itself doesnt enter the fastboot mode (when I press menu key and plug the cable, the LED doesnt turn white/blue, just boots the phone normally). And I think I have installed the drivers correctly... I'll try another PC anyway, but from what I've read I've understood that if the LED doesnt turn blue/white, the PC drivers wont do anything.

I never had any problem to enter fast boot with my phone, so no personal experience from my side.
Were you able to enter fast boot mode before you got that trouble?

I think his phone is Carrier locked and it needs to be SIM unlocked first!
I think it requires paying to unlock fastboot

It can't boot to system while holding menu and plugging usb in !
I too am facing the same problem!
Im currently using CyanogenMod 10 with the same Kernel which was pre-installed on the Neo V when I bought it.
I wish to change the Kernel to Lupus as it is compatible with most of the ROMs. I tried flashing the kernel with Flashtools and Kernel Flasher but to no avail.
Kindly help!

Yes, open FlashTools first and dont connect Xperia S yet.
Click FlashMode, and Start the Flash.
Wait when the FlashTools say (in a windows pop up): " Turn Off your Device, Unpluged..." you connect your xperia S in your PC (in flashmode) with UBS cable, and solved the problem...

I've tried everything but the phone just wont stay in flashmode. Is it the phone or its a bug in the Flash tool.

It seems a bit tricky, however the workaround previously mentioned in this thread worked for me too. I'll just mention the step by step process for getting through this problem.
>make sure your device is not connected to the computer.
>start FLASH TOOL.
>press flash and select the version of firmware you want to upgrade/downgrade to from the pop up. (Assuming you might have already downloaded the required firmware in your flash tool installed folder.)
>now FLASH TOOL will prompt you to connect the phone. Do so. While pressing the "down vol button" of your switched off device
(for Xperia S/SL). The phone will go into flash mode and you can see green notification light up in your phone.
>There you go, your firmware will flash and phone will be rebooted.
All right. So, important:
If you have WINDOWS 8.1, then don't even try to get flashmode/fastboot. Trust me, it won't work. And yes, different problem than it was on windows 8. As I searched, I think there is a main problem with USB inf files themselves on windows 8.1, and yet you can't put correct drivers on it, because it doesn't even recognize the phone in fastboot or flash mode. Search on google, and you'll find some answers, and there is a fix that maybe works with USB 3.0, but I don't have usb 3.0, so I cant test it

In this very well explained guide:

Do you have all you need to know to begin with your Xperia P, but the only thing I recommend is (if you can) update from 6.2.A.0.400 to
6.2.A.1.100 cause it's easier to root.
If you spend a bit of time reading the guide it's very easy to do anything! Anyways if you have any question tell me

I have had this issue when I switch between flashing my X10 and my ION.
I will also say I use a Windows XP PC for my phone work.
Make sure you have the newest version of FlashTool.
When I install FlashTool, I always install ALL the drivers in the list. Just to be sure.
Then reboot the computer with the phone NOT plugged in.
Make sure that USB debugging is selected on the phone.
Then connect the phone, while it is turned ON, to the PC to confirm ADB drivers are installed.
If all is OK with the ADB drivers then unplug the phone.
Now make sure NO phone software is running (PC companion, Sony Update service, FlashTool, ADB terminal window),
even in the notification area by clock in windows (if something is there, right click and exit)
Now turn the phone off,
While holding the VOLUME DOWN button only,
Plug the phone into the PC.
Hopefully all goes well,

Just remember that for FlashTools to work there can be NO OTHER PHONE SOFTWARE OF ANY KIND RUNNING.
Also forgot to agree with the other post about Anti-Virus software, Shut it off or put it to sleep.
EMMA and Gordon's gate are not needed, but as long as its not running it should not hurt.
Also make sure the ADB drivers are working.

HOW TO UNBRICK A ZOPO ZP950+
After spending some time on Russian forums I found a way to un-brick my device.
Hopefully this will be useful to other people as well .
You will need:
1. SP Flash Tool - ATTACHED
2. preloader.bin from another simillar MT6589 ROM (I used the one from the latest official Iocean X7 ROM) - PRELOADER
3. Latest JB 4.2.1 from Zopo - ZOPO 4.2.1 ROM - http://zopomobile.com/xiazai.php
4. MT6589 drivers - ATTACHED
STEPS:
1. Install the MT6589 drivers on your WINDOWS computer
2. take the battery out of your phone and connect the USB cable, windows should install the required drives. Disconnect the phone
3. Start SP Flash and select the scatter file from the archive you have downloaded
4. DESELECT EVERYTHING except PRELOADER
5. Click on PRELOADER and browse to the newly downloaded PRELOADER_UNBRICK file
6. Click on Download and ignore the message
7. Now, this is very important, while holding the VOLUME + button connect the USB to the phone, do not let go of the VOLUME + button, hold it until the SP FLASH process finishes, mine took about a couple of minutes, while the process bar went to 100% RED and then through a PURPLE if I remember correctly. Only let go of the VOLUME + when you see the last GREEN CIRCLE. ( IF SP FLASH CAN'T SEE THE PHONE WHEN YOU PLUG THE USB, STILL HOLDING THE VOLUME + BUTTON, INSERT THE BATTERY - THE PROCESS IS THEN THE SAME)
8. Now, if this went OK, you should have a brand new working preloader on your phone
9. Disconnect the cable from the phone and Restart SP Flash Tool
10. Same steps as before, select the scatter file, but now DESELECT the PRELOADER
11. click on DOWNLOAD and ignore the message
12. With the battery out reconnect the USB cable to the phone, if the flashing process doesn't start, insert the battery and the flashing process will start. It will take a good few minutes, but you should be OK.
13. DO NOT TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AFTER THE FLASHING PROCESS HAS FINISHED, JUST DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE AND PRESS THE POWER BUTTON
14. FINGERS CROSSED YOUR UNBRICKED DEVICE IS NOW POWERING
GOOD LUCK!
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THIS PROCESS MIGHT CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE.THIS PROCESS MIGHT WORK WITH OTHER MT6589 DEVICES
Did this help you? Please feel free to leave a comment below. I'll try and help as much as I can.
Hi and thanks for the guide,
I just did the steps and my ZP980 2gb does flash preloader and then the rest of the rom, when i boot up its dead.
So flashing works but thats just about it.
No indication that its loading either...
Hi, did you follow the steps exactly? Also, I think you should try flashing a preloader from a Zopo C2.

Restarted spflash and did the same procedure according to the guide by holding volume up but this time without the preloader and same scatter "ZP980 SET 130818 B vers" worked perfectly!
The phone is alive!

Hi Zaggi,
I've faced the same problem with my ZP980-32GB and I try to follow your steps. Unfortunately, it's still does not success. For how long do you have to wait for the 100 % violet strip and Green circle in each time ?

It sounds like you need to try another USB cable or another port on your computer.
Are you sure you installed the drivers?
And BTW the phone has to be off, I did the steps with my battery connected.. Hope it helps.
Sorry for the late reply.

Found your guide. I have the same issue with Jiayu G4 Advanced. I didn't flashed any rom, but suddenly yesterday the phone stopped to responding. I removed the battery and after put it back the phone switched on but stuck on Jiayu logo for minutes. Battery was charged.
I've noticed on windows device manager that there's no MTK Preloader Driver, only DA and USB PORT.
So I cannot revive my phone with this method. It's a hardware issue then.

Hello,
Today I downloaded a few stock roms and I installed them with SP flash tool smoothly without any issue. In the end I installed again the latest stock rom but this time my phone went dead, the screen is black and my pc doesn't recognise the device.
Also, I opened the cover and removed the battery without any luck.
Please help me! :'(
Revert to old one. I saw some reports on elephone p9000 customer forums. always update the official way!
This happened to me once when flashing the ROM on the P9000, luckily though I just held the power button continuously for about 5 mins and it powered up. I guess if it wont power up, its an Elephone warranty issue to get it repaired
I let it overnight with the battery unplugged and somehow SP flash managed to recognise it and installed a new ROM.
Thank you guys for all the replies!
Hi!
I did live the same situation, and this happened to me when I flashed a custom ROM with the preloader that comes with it.
I suggest you to download a complete official Stock Rom and try to flash it with SP Flashtool by forcing the MT65XX Preloader status.
For this you need to be sure that your phone is completely OFF.
Just start SP Flashtool load the scatter file that comes with the Stock ROM archive and let everything ticked as it is by default (preloder file too) and click on the Download button.
Let the downlaod option to be set as "Download Only" and click on the "Download" button with the green arrow.
At this step, SP Flashtool should be waiting for your phone to be connected.
With your phone completely OFF, connect the USB cable on the phone keep the Vol - button pressed and connect the other side of the cable to the computer.
If everything's OK, the computer should recognize the phone as an MT65XX Preloder device and SP Flashtool will launch the flashing process.
Wait till the end when the OK checkbox pop-up appear and your phone should rework as usual.
Tell us if this method helped you and give us some feedback if you need more support.
Good luck.

Install from ota. It is available there now
Hi Zamarano.
I've explained how to force the pre loader status in my preceding message....
But maybe you did not understand how it is written...
To go in this mode, you have to follow carefully all the step above until you press the download button in SP flashtool.
At this stage, the computer is waiting for you to plug your phone.
You need to be sure your phone is completely OFF.
After this keep the Vol- (Volume Down) button pressed but do not switch ON your phone, and connect your USB cable to your phone first and in the USB port of your computer in second time.
If you follow these step, the download process must begin automatically.
You can remove your finger from the Vol- (Volume Down) button when the download process has begun.
I hope these advices will help you.
The following fix worked on my dead Elephone P9000 (thanks to djelloul) ; and good luck.:
Download the Stock Rom (or the Aerom v5 Rom which I used) and extract it afterwards...
(MTK drivers should be working ok on you pc (google it if needed)).
Phone must be completely OFF en unplugged to pc.
Start SP Flashtool load the correct scatter file that comes with the ROM and let everything ticked as it is by default (preloder file too! forcing the MT65XX Preloader status).
Let the download option to be set as "Download Only" (Note that the "Download only" did not work for me. So I used "Format All + Download" option. Be careful here because everything will be deleted!)
Now click on the "Download" button with the green arrow.
At this step: SP Flashtool should be waiting for your phone to be connected.
With your phone completely OFF, attach the USB cable to the phone, then push the VOL+ button and hold it down, then connect the USB cable to the computer.
If everything's OK, the computer should recognize the phone as an MT65XX Preloder device and SP Flashtool will launch the flashing process. Wait till the end when the OK checkbox pop-up appear and your phone should rework as usual.
Unplug the phone and close the SP Flashtool.
Plug the phone again to the pc and wait...
Now the phone seems alive again, and the led lamp will light up. The phone will show for a second a strange battery icon, and then goes off again.
The battery is probably dead by now. Wait to charge the battery and be patient.
After +/- 20 minutes the battery is strong enough to turn the phone on.
Hope this will work for you. Tell us if this method helped you and so we can help othes who have this same problem.
Good luck.
...
Good night, after a week of phone dead to, and several attempts to revive, I hereby thank all the participants in my odyssey, and I come to say that I could install the V5 rom and that the phone is fully functional for now everything works fine .... but only with some use I can say fully ..... Thank you all .....

This is what it looks like, and if I try to boot into recovery or system it just says "no operating OS found."
Windows won't recognize it when trying to connect via USB.
Any way to fix this? Help would be greatly appreciated.

It's in fastboot mode. Have you tried using a different cable to connect to the PC? It must be a USB data cable. Also, have you downloaded the Motorola driver's on your PC and the latest driver's for adb/fastboot from Google? Another option is if you have another phone and a OTG adapter

fsr I can't install Motorola USB Driver. It always says "the parameter is incorrect" when I do it, and I've tried all kinds of solutions to fix it. I'll try install it on my friend's laptop tonight and see if I can fix it there.

So I successfully installed the Universal ADB Driver and Motorola USB Driver on my other computer and it still won't recognize my phone while in the fastboot mode. Any idea why this is the case?

Make sure to install these. They were updated. Then, go to device manager on your PC, click add new drivers and manually find the location of all new drivers and make sure they install. Make sure the phone isn't plugged into the PC when you do this. Reboot the pc. When it boots, plug the phone in but not in fastboot. See if it will get discovered in regular adb. If still nothing, click update drivers manually and the option to choose which. Go to Google adb, click install. Try again

I forget you're stuck in fastboot. Can you get it to boot into recovery? It will just show a green android logo with it's stomach opened up and say invalid command or some ****. Hold power and press either volume up or down until you see a new screen that has several other options... That's recovery. From there you can enter fastbootd. See if the pc recognizes fastbootd if you can't get the above solution to work. Also, you can avoid all this driver crap if you have another phone and an otg cable. Download Bugjaeuger adb from Google play and you can use the second device as a replacement for the PC

So I solved the problem last night. Apparently, it was the USB cable. My PC won't recognize my phone in fastboot mode using this particular cable fsr. I never thought it was the faulty cable because it was working fine in Recovery and OS prior to brick, just not in fastboot. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

That's Awesome! Isn't it such a great feeling when it finally works!? Lol. I've been a victim of the faulty/wrong cable situation many times. It's so frustrating I can't begin to explain it. I've had phones that were left inoperable for 6 months because I gave up, and then came back with a clear head and sure as hell, it ended up just needing a different cable, even though I had already tried 4 different ones. It makes me want to destroy things! Lol. Glad you got it running again!
