Selling my EVO LTE Wipe advice requested - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

My EVO 4G LTE is rooted and running a stock ROM. I have TWRP installed also.
I need to wipe all of my personal info, but I want to double check the best process to make sure I don't lose root or screw anything up!
Do I simply reboot into recovery and select factory wipe? Do I wipe all caches and internal memory first?
Thanks

Factory reset should be good enough and would be like getting a brand new phone.

From a Sense ROM, use dialer code ##786#, select menu, then reset. If you're selling it with an SD card, just format the card and be done with it.

How do I return my Eris to MetroPCS if I fully wipe it?

I already legally have my phones esn on MetroPCS but if I fully wipe it when I root or put a new rom on it, the settings revert back to Verizon. What I have learned is if I have the prl (mine is 2004), I can flash it by dailing ##prl. After that, then what?
Thanks -nomorefear
What ROM did you flash? I've put many on mine and it stays on MetroPCS, the PRL should not be changing. You will have to get web, mms and apps working again after a flash though.
I have tainted tenzo and by wipe I mean dalvik as well, which is why the metroflash goes back to vzw

I wiped that earlier before flashing Tazz Froyo and Metro still worked at first boot.

Did you FULLY wipe your phone?

Yes, wiping the phone just clears out the saved settings/apps/etc in the ROM, it does not touch the area's that save the PRL information for your carrier. You're stressing over nothing. You would have to reprogram the phone for another carrier in order to lose the Metro PCS settings.
Cool, thanks mate!

I have used lots of different ROMs with Metro, using Wipe Factory and Wipe Dalvik. Shouldnt mess up the MetroFlash.
Now what I dont know is if you still retain settings after you do a hard reset / factory restore from the built in recovery

Are you sure about that? You should be able to make calls. You will have to redo the internet and MMS after a wipe. Also, you will need to use a Verizon based ROM (SenseUI) if you want MMS to work.

[Q] can I restore backup on new phone?

I'm getting a replacement Tbolt and I was wondering if, after I make a backup on this phone, I could restore that backup on the new phone? This would be after I re-root and whatnot of course.
I would just use this SD card to restore from

Anyone?

i would say you should be able to since you can on the OG droid... but... not sure if anything is different with HTC
I just did. As long as your using your original SD card on your replacement.

Yeah you should be able to just fine. I haven't done it, but I cant think of any reason it wouldn't work. Of course, I'm assuming you talking about a full backup with ClockworkMod Recovery.

Help!! Can't connect to my work's Wifi

Ok, I can connect to any other wireless connection, except work.
I know the security settings, it just keeps trying to authenticate and obtain an IP.
Is there a way that I can clear out ALL my wifi settings, in case its keeping some bad info somewhere or something?
I can connect with my ipod, other people's droids, etc.
Forgot to add: Bulletproof 2.5 ROM, faux kernal. Still running Gingerbread, because it's working wonderfully. ...with the exception of this one issue.
Please help me

Well you can try "forget network" for your work wifi access point which will wipe data stored for that access point and then you can input new info in

Yeah, I've tried that a million times, it seems.
Is there anyway to go and manually remove the settings for that network, or ALL networks? Like through Astro file manager or titanium backup?
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda app-developers app
Well you can try wiping cache and dalvik cache but to be honest seems kind of a funky issue that probably can be solved by re flashing your rom (after full wipe of course)

I'll try that. Thanks.

[Q] unrooting with stock firmware

Please can someone tell me how to re-root an at&t lg optimus g e970.
Nothing has been changed on the phone yet except for it being rooted via;
RootOptimusG-English software.
My phone is acting up and need to send it back to the eBay seller.
Through the SuperSU app there is an option to do a full unroot. After that just do a factory reset though the system settings. That should work, although I have never tried it.

Try this first and if that doesn't work, just LGNPST back to stock

[Q] Message app crashing

Hi my friend has a non rooted UK Vodafone CID HOX+.
Quite often when he opens the messaging app it crashes. I know on rooted you can just clear the dalvik, but he has no intention to root.
Is there any way this can be sorted?
He could try re-flashing the rom if he does not want to root. Only other choice as far as I can see.
Ah slightly annoying, thought you needed root to do flashing of any kind? He could wait for the Sense 5 update to fix too? And what causes problems like these?
I am a One X user so there might be slight differences.
Just do a factory reset or clear the messaging app data. Sounds like too many texts

Thanks. I have told him, hope this works as i don't think he is willing to do any resetting.
As stated above app clearing data via settings>apps>all>messages>clear data should resolve the problem. If not factory reset & lastly return for a refund or replacement.

He hasn't complained since so i assume the problem is fixed. Thanks people.!
Brill glad to get him off you're back
