[Q] Dead Razr - Weird Overheat Death! Anyone?

Hello,
I was at a concert last night, and took a few pics and videos on my phone..when I put it back in my pocket it became overheated - then the screen went blank. I could feel the heat almost burn my leg. From this the LED flashed a full variety of colours (greens, purple & white) and when pressing the power button nothing happened. It eventually started flashing red as I drove home but refused to come back on. I put it on charge when I got home where it was a very faint white colour LED. I did the manual reset (power&volume down)..nothing.
It's been on charge all night and it was just dead - no light - nothing this morning. I've charged it this morning at work, and there's a white light, sometimes faint, but trying to start it is impossible.
I'm now left phoneless as my spare phone doesn't take the Micro Sim card. I have insurance, but they want a £50 excess - I've contacted Motorola as this seems to be an internal electrical fault, but I was wondering if anyone has any hints or tips as it could be weeks before I have a phone again.
Anyone experienced / managed to sort this themselves?
Laura
Hi Laura, welcome! (I hope BRFC doesn't stand for Bristol Rovers!?)
Are you able to actually turn the phone on at all, ie get any screen to show?
I would imagine that the phone is newish, it's still covered under warranty so it may be worth contacting motorola directly to see if they are able to do anything.
When you plug it into your pc/mac and try and turn it on, does the pc pick up the phone at all?

[Q] Dropped Evo 3d.. Won't turn on

Yesterday, my phone fell (not very hard, onto a carpeted floor). I picked it up and put it in my pocket without looking.. When I went to check my phone, it was off. I tried to turn it on, but it would only go to the HTC screen, then the screen would go black but the home icons would be lit up. I took the battery out and let it sit for a couple of hours. Tried to put it back in and the phone wouldn't turn on at all. I put it on the charger, it turned red for about 5 seconds, turned off, then repeats. If I try to turn the phone on, the LED light blinks a very dim red for 2 seconds then stops. I can't even hold the volume button and the power button, it just blinks the dim red. As far as I know, it is not rooted. I got it second hand about a year ago after my phone got stolen. I have never had any problems with it other than the camera.. It just stopped working eventually. Help?
Anytime you drop the phone, even if it wasn't a hard hit, it can damage something on the main board, which could be your problem. However, since you say the led is very dim red, that is a sign that the battery itself is damaged and won't charge. I would try to get a cheap battery off ebay to see if that's the problem.
You probably damaged some micro vital componants on your motherboard which is preventing your device to function in a normal way.
must be motherboard, or some other chip

[Q] Xperia Ray ST18i - Extremally low brightness, almost pitch black.

Hi guys, I got a problem with my Xperia Ray phone.
I left the phone to recharge for couple of hours, when I disconnected the cable, the phone was shut down, OR with so low brightness that I thought it was turned off. At that time I hadn't noticed screen showing anything.
I thought there was some problem with the battery so I tried to recharge it with universal battery charger [I just call it a frog]. After that when I tried to turn on the phone, I noticed very very dim "SONY" and after exclamation mark in red triangle. I decided that there was software problem, so I did phone repair procedure with Sony's PC Companion.
After that the phone works perfectly, the sound, touchscreen, everything, except the screen is so dim that It's only possible to see the text on extremely bright room, I know it's weird, it should be in reverse, but I can only see the display in well lit room. I have a theory that what I'm seeing is that anti sun-flare thing [obviously incorrect definition] which makes it possible to see clearly under the sun.
Oh and it says Safe Mode on the left bottom side, I think it's because the phone is without the SIM, maybe. I'm not sure.
Thank you guys in advance.
P.S. Here are some photos I managed to take:

Flashlight wont turn off and black screen

So my problem began when i was returned a phone that was supposed to be sold for a friend. All was fine and dandy until my girlfriend noticed this light shining out from the depths of my jacket pocket, and what i found was said phone, with a black unresponsive screen as if the phone is powered off and wont power on, and its front led flash blinding me and everyone else in the room. Since i couldnt get it to turn on im unable to turn the light off, so i removed the battery and was quite pleased when the burning bright light finally was off. Aaaaaannnnnd way way LESS pleased when i put the battery back in its home only for the vile, invasive, and rude, light to turn back on as well. Any ideas? This isnt my phone and i need to return it sooooo.... Yeah

I assume this phone is dead, am I right?

Ok so, I had the "bright" (stupid) idea to get an unused Z5 Compact online to replace mine which I have dropped about 24 times.
Unfortunately not long after I got the newer one, I dropped it and the screen cracked. Looooong story short, the screen is okay now, but whether it was in the fall or in the stupid shop, it doesn't charge properly.
However, rather than just getting a red blinking light, what I see is: red solid light, then the "Sony XPERIA" screen with white background will appear, but the power light will turn off, and then it will revert to the battery charge screen where the battery is at 0%.
I am nooooot technical so if the probably solution is replacing the charge port I feel like maybe I should just get another phone. Is that the right step now or am I jumping the gun?
