Firmware question - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently on firmware 17.1.A.2.55 and using Advance Stock Kernel with CWM Recovery v02 (FW:17.1.A.2.55}.
If I was to use the:
[Xperia Z2] DooMKernel v07
RomAur v3.1 -Based on OFICIAL FW d6503-17.1.1.A.0.402 kk4.4.2
Would these still work considering I am currently on version 17.1.A.2.55?
I apologise if this is a stupid question but I am very new to all of this, Any help would be really appreciated,
Thanks in advance

Once you flash the RomAur v3.1, you will be on 17.1.1.A.0.402, which is currently the latest firmware. And you will need the latest kernel for it to work

Thanks for the very quick reply, So if I was to flash the RomAur v3.1 and then the DooMKernel v07 that supports 17.1.1.A.0.402 it should work fine?

how to update baseband?

hi,
I´m on rooted neo v with bootloader unlocked and have updated fw and kernel to .62
but I still have old baseband (xxD-56 - new is D-64)
don´t see any disadvantages so far,
I´m just curious and interested.
and where is the baseband integrated (if)?
Kernel or FW?
for other devices (i.e. HTC) you can update baseband
by cwm and zip-file...
Here you go!
.62 firmware Baseband:
http://www.mediafire.com/?tfd8bdbdrcd4bpq
just flash it with flashtool
yeah, thx alot!
finally my update is complete

Pleasure
i found in another thread the .64 baseband for neo v which is here:
http://205.196.122.253/3370kbxvo93g/lis7dx8dhppylq2/.64+baseband.rar
which one shud i install..
im on .62 based fw (NeoV.62_ODEX_Smooth_Spacious_n_Light)
and night-elf kernel...
Suggest you to do a full flash to 0.62 fw with flashtool using this ftf file, then move to spacious rom This way your phone is fully updated to 0.62 fw.

[Q] Flashing Stock ICS Firmware while on a Custom ROM

Hi All,
I installed a custom ROM (HYBROM v17) on my XMP a couple of weeks back. I now want to flash the just released stock ICS firmware to my device.
Will this cause a problem? Do I have to install the Stock ROM before flashing the ICS firmware?

If you want to flash the ftf of 4.0.4 using flashtool, you can do it right away. Check
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690704
For more info.
Thanks,
Rick
Hit Thanks if I helped in anyway.
Thank you but my concern is whether I will face any issues installing ICS firmware while on a Custom ROM that, if I remember well, cited that it is based on .62 firmware.

Basically flashtool will clear the rom on your phone and install the ICS fw on it.
Including baseband and kernel.
So if you have GB on it with .62fw, it does not matter.
The thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690704 already answers your questions about upgrading to ICS.

Great if that's true! Thank you so much
This will work
I can confirm that going from Hybrom V17 to the stock ICS works nicely.

[Q] Update

hello folks! I bought a few days a xperia active, I installed the superuser doing the downgrade to gb, then bring it to version 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.431.
I also installed the kernel panic so I can not do the update to 587,
someone kindly explain what should I do to update? I have to change the kernel?
thanks to all.

To update you need to flash the .587 ftf using flashtool and after that flash a prerooted kernel for ics. You didn't need to downgrade if you want to root ics. If your bootloader is unlocked, just flash a prerooted kernel like kernel panic or rage kernel

[108 updated]Stock Z Ultra Kernel with Dual Recovery and RIC disabled

Finally, I am making this a Dev project. And because of the internet connection from China to XDA Servers, I might not be able to upload all the previous kernels as fast as you think. I will try my best.
All the kernels are directly repacked from Sony stock kernel, or compiled from Sony kernel source.
It works for all C68xx devices with stock FW.
Features:
Dual Recovery (CWM+TWRP)
Sony_RIC Disabled
You can root your device easily by flashing supersu.zip in recovery

Disabling RIC allows you to get full root.
just curious, can i use this kernel with .757 fw? thanks!
^^ you want to try and run android 4.4.4 kernel on Android 4.4.2? Unless a fan of bootloops I wouldn't bother (but I may be wrong lol)

Full root? I am running latest firmware, stock, relocked boot loader and rooted. I can change and replace system files. Do I still have partial root?
depends how you rooted, if easyroot then it is full root as that has ric kill too.

can someone provide stock kernel with no dual recovery please. thanks in advance
@zaxharu use the ftf - as far as I'm aware no one has bothered making a stock kernel non recovery version (as the ftf is this already)
It looks like X reality is broken
Sry OT @jackie099 et al, are you running the above in the adb path (or not, looks like desktop)

This sound bug is really annoying!
Thank you, this helped me get full root, "thank" button hit
Nice day all!

- Flash Stock GB 2.3.3 from your region using flashtool, or use Sony Update Service return to it.
- Root your X10 with flashtool.
- Flash Kernel required for your desired rom GB / ICS / JB / KK.
- Install rom by following the dev's instructions!
- Done!

jajaja You want to kill his Xperia X10 right?? KK Roms (in spanish CACA xD) are unstable in our lovely smartphone, and "The Great Developers" dissapeared some months ago. Tof and "his squad" are not building the Kernel 3.0 for the Xperia X10 anymore :'(

Why would you do that? It's exaclty the same as Achotjan's Somc Debrand Engine only modded to look like CM KK! My advise is to flash the latest SDE by Achotjan, it's not a custom rom, it's a firmware and it'll totally blow you away!!! or The latest FeraLab rom and kernel, it's GB on steroids and the most KitKatest of all GB roms also totally mind blowing. Satisfaction guaranteed!
