[Q] Asus MemoPad FHD10 screen randomly turning off - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My FHD10 screen randomly turns off. It looks similar to when it goes to sleep from inactivity, but it happens even when I'm actively using it. It then, sometimes, refuses to turn back on. Resetting it sometimes helps, but not always. It is charged, hasn't been dropped or abused.
I'm not sure if it's something software related that I can fix, or if I just need to contact Asus support for warranty.
Thoughts?

There is a problem in your asus memo pad
I think it is due to the problem in your RAM
Better contact your service center and claim a warranty

New Prime - No video

I just received a new prime from the store and am having issues.
When I turn it on it makes the physical vibration but I never get an actual video on the screen. I am getting nothing but a black screen. Windows also detects it as a eee pad.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do with this before I ship it back?

Might be a dead battery. Charge it for a few hours and try again later.

It's okay it's normal if you received yours DOA. Let it charge at least 2 hours. The Prime needs to be a certain % before it will turn on. I was on the same boat. I charged it for about an hour and it finally turned on.
Ditto, I was used to how phones are. You plug it in and it immediately turn it on, when I got my Prime, I did the same thing. Googled it and found that many people had the same issue. So I just let it charge for about 3 hours, unplugged it, then pushed the power button and it vibrated and turned on. Hopefully yours isn't a DOA. Just be patient, if all else fails, let me fully charge then push the reset pin hole.

prime screen wont go out

Other tablets when you stop using them, the screen turns of f. I can't find an option with the prime that allows this to occur. When i set the tablet down, the screen dims but doesnt shut off unless idoit via power button. Has anyone had this happen and know what to do about it?

Go to your settings. Then Display. Then the sleep option. You can adjust the number of sec/min for the screen to shut off.
Right. Its currently set at 1 minute, but no dice.
The screen should shut off completely when haven't touched it for a while. Are you sure that you haven't installed any apps that might be keeping the screen awake?

Yup, right out of the box. Did the updates, no apps installed.
Hmmm. Don't really know what would be the problem in this case. Just to make sure, you know the screen will start dimming before it turns off completely right? In case you are touching the screen after it starts dimming or something. That will just wake it back up.
Anyway if nothing works you might want to try a factory reset.

I am having the same issue. I turned on "stay awake" options in developer options to keep the screen alive when it is charging. However, it is also affect the prime when it is not connected.
It only seems to happen randomly every boot. The prime can be asleep and disconnected for hours. Then I wake up and the screen is on and dimmed. When this happens, the battery percentage becomes locked and will not change (So I cannot really tell when it happened or how much battery was drained during this time). I am forced to reboot to correct the battery percentage and get the prime out the the "screen wake lock" until is randomly occurs again.
Running .15, but has been occurring since .11 on my C10 model.

920 screen dead, still getting notifications

tl;dr version - Device screen locked up, then screen went dark. Power button gave no response. Plugged into the PC it is visible and will sync. I get IM vibrations when I get IMs on the PC. Thoughts?
I plan to let the battery drain down (can see the power remaining in the windows app thankfully) and see what happens. I cant shut the device off. Wireless charging pad responds to it resting on it.
Very bizarre.
Good luck. Hope it recovers. Can't wait to hear your results.

Do a soft reset like described here: http://wmpoweruser.com/how-to-soft-reset-the-nokia-lumia-920/
There's no need to wait for the device to drain the battery.
Hey,
I had the same problem, the phone would still receive calls and sms notifications but I was unable to see them as the screen was dark. After a battery drain the phone came back to life, but after this point I started experiencing dropped sms notifications, freezing tiles and overheating.
When I tried to do a reset (from the settings menu), as with other people, the phone bricked I hope yours has a better outcome.
(Mine is currently somewhere with Nokia)

Blue screen

There is a problem with my xperia i am facing at the moment. Its lagging soo much and most of the time it shuts down all of a sudden and when i switch it back on a blue screen appears and then it shuts down again. Sometimes the blue screen comes out of no where even while the phone is on and then it shuts down. Its causing the phone to lag and the phone is just really slow. I tried repairing it with sony pc companion but the problem is still there. I tried resetting the phone but still no luck.

It might be a hardware issue, try to go into a Sony Service and get it checked up, if it is a hardware issue it will be considered a manufaturer issue and you'll get a new one
Had the exact same problem. Return your phone for repairs. No amount of software repairs will fix it, sorry. If your phone has no visible/physical damage such as a cracked screen or deep scratches, they should repair it for free. Only problem is that my phone spent close to a month in repairs until I got it back so be ready for the wait.
I had that issue and they said it was uneconomical to repair so they sent me a new one.

Question Issues with always on display after March update

Hey people.
So i'm reaching out here for assistance with an issue that has only happened since the march update. Always on display refuses to always display unless its plugged in to a charger.
If i unplug the charger and turn screen off, it goes completely off within a couple of seconds. As soon as plugged in, it stays on.
I've gone through all the settings i can think of but I am now scratching my head because nothing i do seems to solve the issue.
It just worked flawlessly before.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

No mate. Sadly not. Also can confirm that even after april update its still the same. No matter what i do, the always on display will just not stay on unless its plugged in!
Don't get me wrong its not life or death bug. But i always have my phone next to me and always glance at screen for time. Its no good to me if it wont stay on
