Greetings All,
Just a quick question, do the side covers have a sensor that let's the phone know if they are open? The reason why I ask is because my phone on reboot/power up asks me to close the covers even though they are closed. It also asks me to close the covers every now and then when I have been using the phone. So I am wondering if there is a sensor, is mine faulty? I don't think we have a sensor but that's why I am asking. I have done a factory reset numerous times with no change.
Thanks all.

Hi,
They don't have a sensor, the message will pop up on reboot, and anytime you disconnect a cable or insert a microsd card. The phone recognises the connection and knows a flap has been opened

So I just installed a new back panel on my phone and I don't think I caused anything to come loose but my screen is having an issues with these weird horizontal lines moving around. They're faint but they're annoying. Could somebody please help me and quickly?
Disassemble your phone like you did before double check all connections test the phone, just hold the battery in place, then if its good do a normal shut down and put it back together carefully not to bump any connectors. Find out what one is the screen connector GENTLY in hook it then hook it back up and test

Thanks. I hope its just a cable not fully attached and I didn't break something.
I'll try that in the morning

Got 2 issues recently. I havent changed the rom or anything since this started, just happen out of nowhere. Im using nottatrix rom? (Forgot how to spell it).
Anyway issue is the fingerprint reader for whatever reason acts like its being swiped for no reason, it will be locked (and sleeping) and when I push the fingerprint button to wake it up, it will vibrate and say 'invalid fingerprint' or whatever, like 6 or seven times in a row and Im not even touching the fingerprint reader when this is happening. The fingerprint reader doesn't look dirty fyi. I usually bypass the problem by using unlock pin.
Second issue is I have a Motorola car dock for the phone, and sometimes when I take it out of the dock, the phone will still think the dock is still connected and will actually have a charging icon. Its annoying because when someone calls and I answer it goes straight to speaker phone (like if it was in the car). Any tips or hints would be awesome!.
Thanks for the support,
Dimitri

Never noticed this on any other phone before but when I'm on a call, the screen sometimes fails to turn off and I end up activating the notification panel with my fat face and accidentally toggling different settings.
Phone bought from HK and running. 475 without any modifications. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. But couldn't find any solutions yet.

i have the same problem too but mine is a little bit different. my proximity sensor is always on. once i answer a call my screen automatically turns off and i have too wait for the caller to hang up before my screen turns on back
Ok I figured out what was happening in my situation. The phone is so big I didn't know where to hold it next to my ear. After a bit of experimenting, I've now found the optimal position.
A bit silly but I'd thought I'd share my stupidity in case someone out there is like me.

This is normally caused by a screen protector covering the proximity sensor try to remove the protector and try again.
What should I do? The ghost touch is
Preventing me from using the screen properly
Try to clean it or wash it.

I remember that that I got this problem sometimes on xperia z and normally a reboot helped.

Ensure glove touch is disabled.
Even I am having this issue... Seems like Glove mode automatically turns on by itself even though it has been disabled.
So far no solution.
Yea it's like the keyboard swipes it self. Same for the screen. Even factory reset, but it happens again once in awhile.
Hello everyone. I bought via ebay display for Sony Xperia z2 but when I connected it turned out to not work properly. He started his own to run applications, as well as to work on it with 30 fingers. I guess that's called Ghost effect. What can be the problem? In short operating normally, and then go crazy.
I'm not completely reassembled the phone after changing the display because waiting waterproof tape for display.
. Does it have something to do with my problem?

I took it in to Sony and they repaired it for me. They told me that there was water underneath so they replaced the damaged parts for me. But the ghost touch issues still happens once in a while...

My power button broke on my phone and so I purchased what was described as a "pulled from working phone" circuit board with power ribbon. Now when a call connects my screen automatically turns off. Depending on which ROM I either can do nothing until the call disconnects or I can press the power button and the screen turns on.
Anybody have any ideas on how to stop the madness. It is quite frustrating.
It sounds like a proximity sensor issue. It would be up there next to the power cable ribbon. Can you check to see if it isn't being obstructed or loose?

It is more of a software issue. I was using CM12 and when a call connected the screen would turn off and would not come back on until the call disconnected and if the screen was off and a call came in the screen would not turn on and you could not make it come on. I am now using Sense Six from Santod. Screen still turns off when a call connects but the power turns it back on and with an incoming call the screen actually turns on. Thank you for posting though.

When the sensor recognizes "near" it will have the screen shut off during a call. That is why I suggest it is the sensor. Also you having the issue after you dealing with hardware near the sensor seems it is more than likely hardware than software.
Hitting the power button on some roms will turn the screen on and override the "near/far" of the sensor. Do a search for "rezound proximity sensor calibrator" on Google Play. Check to see if you are getting near/far correctly.
Edit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incredicontrol.ProxSensorCalibrator just checked and it does show near/far for my phone correctly. This app works for pretty much all HTC phones to calibrate the prox sensor.

Well... I certainly stand corrected... Thank you very much. Now if I could get it right. It started out as 68 and I think like 12 and I have had to crank it down to 41 for my screen to not turn off when the call connects but then it does not cut off when putting the phone to my head. Why would this happen... Is my phone just old?

You would have to play with the settings. Best bet would be putting your finger over the sensor while in the app and scale it until you see near, then put finger away and see if it shows far. Be sure to check the option to "set on boot" when you get it perfect.

I am not sure this thing is working right. It never changes what it says. It always says Near and doesn't matter which I change while I put my thumb over the sensor. That is wrong... Right???

Yes, that is right, something is going on. You could have something covering the sensor when you put the power button ribbon in. At least we have checked and see the issue is most likely hardware. It has been awhile since I took my DNA apart, and can't again as it got lost in the mail, so I cannot check to see if the ribbon goes by the sensor.
