It Just nice too see that we can tweak not only whats inside but also the outside too... Im just hoping for a nice fit and high quality. Its too early to tell how good this housing is but i wanna know soon.

I also noticed that a couple days ago but they only offer red and blue right now. I'm not savy enough but I think it's a cool options
For that, did you know how to dismount the TP2 ?
Looks like not really easy to operate at first glance...
You get a screwdriver with it ... just find all the screws and replace!
wait few months... dismantling this phone will be on youtube!
I noticed those when I bought my TP2 last week... to bad they are only red and blue. I would be down for black, or maybe a nice dark green. They look nice from the photo. I don't like taking apart slider phones... PITA
The Wing wasn't so bad. I did the whole thing solo since my brother broke his screen and there weren't any dismantling guides available yet. It's easier than you think... just don't force anything and keep a sharp eye open for screws.
The only problem with swapping the case for a T-Mobile version is that you have to keep the T-Mobile keyboard. The layout is unique to T-Mobile and the HTC version (as well as other carriers) vary from model to model.

It's really easy to swap cases. I had to replace the screen on my room mates Kaiser which is a slider tilt screen device as well. Took me 40 mins tops & I had to completely disassemble it. Will probably have to again soon. He broke his screen a second time lmao. The one thing I'll note though is for T-Mobile, the whole device is different basicly. The screen does have a tappered edge & the screen cover is bigger & the battery cover is a completely different design. the Stylus doesn't go through it. So, the T-Mobile wouldn't be completely changible. As for the keyboard, that can be changed via ROM. The HTC Kaiser has a different KB Layout than the AT&T Tilt, we just install a CAB to "fix" this as the ROM's are made for the HTC version. Also, the Sprint/Verizon/AT&T(From what I read) have Headphone Jacks. You could arguably use only part of the kit, but for $80-100+, I want one completely compatible with my device.
As for Colors, there's a full silver/full black/& black & orange version available. I wish they made them available in pieces so you could mix & match parts. For example the Battery covers.
Anyone knows whether a housing is available for the european version? Mine has some ugly scratches due to close contact with the asphalt Can't find a new housing though, only bezels... I need a new grey edge around the keyboard to which the battery cover is attached aswel. Is this even possible?
Luckily, the keyboard, screen and batt cover are still intact, and the phone is still functioning properly. It is now protected by a plastic rubberized case and a screenprotector.
Help would be very welcome!
I'm thinking about giving this a try to replace the screwed up button layout that ATT provided. If I can just swap the buttons and the remap the keys with a cab file I'm thinking I can get the QWERTY keyboard back to it's original form.
Anyone else tried this?
Jon
Tried going to the link but it appears to have been "removed".....anywhere else?

Dismantling HTC Touch PRO2, HTC Rhodium in pictures...
The above dismantling link has been in the XDA-Wiki for several months now.
So what? If someone asks a question and I can help, I sure will. Or should I be an smartass and tell it's around here, use the search... Maybe it's your thing, not mine.
i'd like to try to replace the bezel on the screen-part, it's got little wholes and even a completely crushed section.. but according to the link you'll have to disassemble the whole keyboard-part in order to do that.. isnt there an easier way to replace the bezel??
just wanted to let everyone know that I have the black/blue case from ebay china. It took 3 weeks but I finally have it.
After taking apart my g1 and 90% housing conversion from white to black. I accidentally cut one of the ribbons off and broke the phone. So im a little scared to take apart this $400 phone. Didnt mind the g1 because there dirt cheap and easy to find another one.
If you all can gather some links and any guides I will probably convert my tmo tp2 to the new housing sunday mourning. unless someone can confirm that its extremly easy to switch housing.
Just an example of the g1 dissemble.

ive been modding hardware since everyone had a nextel i730. ive seen alot of crappy poorly made housings in my days. usually the first and second generation batches of housings that come out are poorly cut, or made of brittle plastics. i would advise that when looking for housings(especially for expensive devices), that you get a 3rd generation housing and look on youtube for directions.
So excited.
I am trying to covert my T-mobile touch pro 2 soon. The full housing will arrive in 2 days. I dropped my precious on the pavement.... T-mobile housing is nowhere to be found so I bit the nail. Hopefull it's going to turn out awesome

Wouldnt that case cover the proximity sensor???
I have been using it for about 1.5 weeks with my Tmob TP2. The bottom cover is a little tricky, but it works pretty good. I took the back clip off and put the plug in. I mainly keep it in my shirt or my pants pocket.
Got one today
I got one today and is does seem pretty sturdy. It has the feeling of soft leather or neoprene over hard plastic covering most of the edges and then a mesh on the sides for griping. as one person mentioned you have have the clip on or off which is nice. It does seem really bulky when I have it clipped in the inside of my front jeans pocket. I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep it or get something else but I do think it is pretty nice.

It looks like it will, so a little drilling might be required. I have one coming in the mail, so I'll let you know if it does.
I saw this case at my local T-Mobile store. It was too bulky and interfered too much with the number keys when the screen was flipped up. T-Mobile sales a really nice soft gel like shell with all the right holes cut out for the T-Mobile version of the TP2 (including one for the proximity sensor). It costs about $12 +/-.

Best part it's in NJ, very close to me
When you say "It was too bulky and interfered too much with the number keys when the screen was flipped up" do you mean its got a cover that protects the screen too?
Yes. It's the same type as the BodyGlove, but without the clip, feels more rubbery, and isn't quite as thick. It still gets in the way of the number keys when tilting the screen, but not as much since it's a little thinner. I can actually still use the number keys with this case, where as with the bodyglove I couldn't.

You will def have to drill a little for the proximity sensor, but other than that, it fits really well, and gives a little better grip. It does make the phone a little thicker, but it protects it well.

Is this the soft gel case that the T-Mobile store sells?
http://cgi.ebay.com/for-HTC-TOUCH-PRO2-GSM-T-MOBILE-OEM-GEL-SKIN-CASE_W0QQitemZ350242545193QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item518c151e29&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
If not, have you seen it sold anywhere online?
Yes, that's the one.
I just bought the t-mobile soft gel case for my touch pro 2 and it fits pretty well, Doesn't block the proximity sensor. So for the price , 12.99 + tax, I recomend it.
Glad it worked out for you. I've had the case for over a week now and love it!
Updated BodyGlove Case Coming Soon!
I have been working with BodyGlove on a redesign of the TP2 case and I will be getting a factory prototype in the next week to ten days. From what I am told the main difference is it will have the cutout for the proximity sensor.
Make sure you keep your receipt. I would guess that T-Mobile will replace it with the updated version since the original was technically defective. If you have trouble with T-Mo then contact BodyGlove directly since they know about the problem and are coming out with a fix.
As for the thinner GEL type case, I tried it today and didn't like it as much as the BG version since it seemed to be easy to dislodge the the lower shell middle clips. Within a few minutes I noticed that I had to bump the center clips back in place more than once. It also seemed to interfere with the slide a little, something the BG does not do.
I would have to vote for the BG (updated one) as the better case since the rigid shell fits and stays on better. Yes, the BG is a little bulkier but I would have to guess that it would provide pretty good protection in the event of gravity assisted boo-boo.

Gordo
Body Glove in a cradle.
I love my BG case. I got it a couple of days ago. All I had to do was drill a small hole for the proximity sensor, which btw is an easy fix. I wonder if there is a cradle that will fit it now that it's a lot thicker.
I think I'd have a better luck making my own. I think a triangular wedge with a lip/edge on one the sides would work best since I'm planning to have the keyboard open while it's charging. I'll post pics (probably on a different thread). What do you guys think?

I emailed BG about this the other day and they couldn't tell if this was a mistake, a bad batch, or what... so they said they would send me a new one to see if it was better (this was before i saw your thread).
Also, there is a hole on the BACK cover that the BG case blocks, but the gel of same type don't. Someone said it was a noise mic. (I don't know).
For those of you that drilled... was it hard to keep the material from wanting to tear or fray? How did you go about it?

It wasn't hard at all. I just got a small drillbit and I used a dremel tool. You can't even tell that I "modified" it.
Maybe I can save someone else the trouble, or maybe everyone else already knows this, but... I really like the OEM Samsung flip case that comes in a few colors and replaces the back cover of the phone, keeping it very sleek and protecting the screen. I have discovered that even though sellers (Amazon & eBay, but I'm sure not Samsung) say that it will fit models i717 and N7000, there is a distinct difference.
I have bought 2 that had to be returned because they did not fit my AT&T model. The way to tell them apart is the plastic plate on the inside of the back cover with 2 little metal dots. This is the AT&T model. If the dots are missing, it's the N7000 model. The clips that hold the back cover on are slightly different on the 2 models and one won't fit the other. It is otherwise impossible to tell from the outside which is which.
I couldn't find a photo of the one with the dots (and too lazy to take one), but this is the one without.
Those dots have a purpose...The black sticker (white sticker if white cover), is the NFC antenna. That's how you know it's for the AT&T version.

I wondered about that. I saw another thread mentioning antenna and thought that might be it. Thanks for clarifying.
Yeah, np.

As an aside, I purchased this about a month ago thinking it would work with my i717:

It didnt, but I was able to retro fit it with an exacto knife. Had to cut off two tabs completely and halve another four. Its completely secure. Just wish they made this for the i717.

What about the lack of an antenna?
With the right tools and trimming you could make it fit but it will not fit out of the box. It will not be as secure as one made for the i717

This case is nice at first but there are few issues I ran into after using them. First issue is that if you get the white cover which looks nice and clean, using for few weeks the inside fabric part gets dirty fast. Second, the gummy like glue or whatever it is called which holds the front side leather and the inner side fabric together falls apart in few weeks as well so case gets ruined and sticky so wouldnt want to use it any longer. One last thing is that if you happen to drop the phone by an accident, before it lands, the cover opens up so big possibility that your screen will hit the floor and also want to mention that the back cover actually comes off the phone (the case really is crappy when phone drops). I think the only pro part is that it is very thin (probably the thinnest flip cover case). For all the cons, using about 30bucks is not worth it in my opinion.

Looking for something to protect the body/mid-frame of my note 3, since the S-view case leaves it somewhat exposed. i've seen pictures of similar on the web - but cant find any to buy.
anyone using something like that? any ideas?
in need of one also.
Hi I am in need of this also. Don't want a case as it makes the phone bulky but want to protect the sides for when I have it stood up in car etc. My old s3 sides got scratched before and don't want this happening to my note 3. I need like a skin sticker around the edges. Pw did you find any or if anyone knows of any please

Thanks Azz
Slickwraps? Make sure you get the full body one. I ordered the back only expecting it to come with the sides also, it didn't.

these stickers work with S-view cases, which was my concern - i wanted the parts the case didnt cover, protected.
since I am not a fan of s-view cover ( though I bought one ), I always use one of these;

hi as many note 3 users know, the plastic side frame is easy to get damaged, i have few cracks and one line just under the main power button (not sure just facial or completely crack?)
so, how easy is to change and which one i have to buy ? - im quite noob in hardware sides.
Sure you can buy one on Ebay
I have the same problem, the silver plastic bezel is very fragile.
If you search in Ebay you can found the Bezel and some of them come with tools to turn this in a complete DIY.
Actually i found all the body for this phone in ebay, so you can turn your used and damaged note 3 into a "brand new" one.
Thanks 4 the info. Where did you find it. Could you please share the link?
Thx in advance
hey guys.here is a link for the bezel replacement Bezel On EBAY
i want to tell you that it's not that easy to change it as you need to move the lcd screen from the one bezel to the other one.
there is glue between the lcd and the bezel so you need to warm it and remove it really carefully.i did the process yesterday on my note 3 and it was a pain in the a$$ so i have to tell you to be carefull before any move you re going to do.
Any link for Indian note 3?
Sent from my SM-N900 using XDA Free mobile app
I considered doing this, as I was given a note 3 a while back, but the bezel is beat to hell and the screen had a minor crack. I should've replaced both at the same time, but the small crack turned into a large one and needed immediate attention It's covered by a case now anyway though, so it's not much of an issue anymore.
I dropped mine a while ago and put some pretty nasty scratches on the bezel.
I ended up sanding all the plastic chrome plating off down to the white plastic underneath.
covered the screen with electrical tape and ran a razor round the edge (so I could get to the front part)
It actually looks really good, I prefer it to the chrome.
I got a cheapo battery cover off ebay aswell in orange and it looks real good,
Its a tough job!!!
got my Note 3 as a gift from a friend who cracked it. I replaced the entire Display (along with frame)
and 3 days later I dropped it and got scratches in the frame.
so I decided to buy a frame and fix but its really a tough job.
so I got a bumper for 3$ and job done

thanks i thought i saw same one for bit less than that, will browse ebay later.

because you must be either living in the area where your carrier signal is real strong/good, or you dont pay attention to little details, otherwise you're lying
I have tried handful of those and other plastic metalized/mirror painted bumpers and what not and all to one had some impact, especially those which had metalized paint/metal/aluminium back cover.
Simple speed test will tell alot when wearing the cover, or just go and keep an eye on your signal strength meter. It sure as hell affects signal.
mine Note 3 is banged up pretty bad around the bezel but instead I just figured it would be more practical getting some slim neat bumpers and call it a day. not only hiding worn and tired bezel but also protecting the screen and back camera optics to some degree

little too many ... beware that those wooden cases are the coolest thing your phone can get but if you do drop your phone they crack and break apart sometimes... not always though but alot alot sooner than any plastic case would and thats a heartbreaking thing because there not exactly cheap case, but hey - how often does someones phone feels and smells like real fresh quality piece of wood? I like them wooden ones very much even if they crack and put some tax on my pocket at the end of the day its almost like your personal signature of style ... besides, its always warm to touch and zero signal interference
PS: lots more were thrown out many months ago, especially all those metalized ones, no use to me nor could I offer them to anyone I knew who had note 3 due to what they are
When my display was damaged, it got repaired, not only the glass, but the whole display including the bezel, it was 1 piece.. I guess it's very hard to replace only the bezel
