So today I had to reset my phone. Everything went fine until i had to sign in with my email. i put in my email and password and got this error: please sign in using one of the owners account for this device. The email I put in was the email address i used for my google account/ everything. So I don't understand why its giving me this error. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
The reason it was giving you that error is that you have to use the Google Account that you used when you first setup the device. The V10 has reset protection so the Google Account that you first entered into the device is the one you should log into.
This virtually happened to me today. I used the same password as I did from the very beginning and I still got the same prompt. After playing an hour of phone tag with a Verizon Wireless tech, Google tech, and a LG tech (there's a joke there somewhere... ), the VZW and Google techs came to the same conclusions that I'd have to wait a full 24 hrs. before my V10 would allow me to sign on. As for the LG tech, she suggested that I send the phone back to them and let their techs look at my device from there (mind you in doing that, I'd be lucky to get my device back in two weeks... smdh).
So now I'm waiting 24hrs (now 22:35hrs and counting) for my V10 to allow me to log on.
From what I was told (Google), this type of security feature is now implemented in all LG, Samsung, and HTC devices.
My question to @Luckydog987 is did it actually take 24hrs? And did your V10 finally let you in?

Yeah after 24hrs with a useless phone I was finally able to get in. Yeah it was weird I used my original email and password with the phone but it wouldn't let me in. Found out I have to wait at least 24 hours for the phone to accept the email and password.

Has anyone else experienced issues with wifi turning itself off? It seems to do so at random times throughout the day, sometimes even 30 seconds after turning it on, while my daughter it's watching YouTube, or while I'm surfing the internet.
I have been using automagic to turn it back on, but it's annoying when I'm on the internet and a page fails to load since the wifi suddenly disconnected itself.
I have disabled all the T-Mobile settings under diagnostics, and enable wifi while the screen is off, but it didn't fix the issue. I have factory reset the device, and even on setup it disabled itself 3 times while trying to setup. I don't use data, so I stick with wifi for receiving emails, which is why I want it always on.
Anyone else? If it's normal for this phone, I'll just suck it up and deal with it, otherwise I'll send it off to LG, but wanted to check with folks here, first.
I ended up contacting LG and shipped the phone to them this afternoon.
me too
Mine does this too and is also a T Mobile variant. Was hoping someone here would have a solution. I bought mine used, so no point in trying to send it back to LG though. Did you by chance download the MM update? Wondering if there's something T mobileish that doesn't play well, but I doubt it.
Just a thought..make sure there aren't any of the options turned on under "Smart Settings" in the settings menu. Some of the options turn off/on Wifi when you are in a specific location.

I did take the MM update. Unfortunately I've sent the phone in to LG two times for this issue, and they still haven't fixed it. Just got the phone back today, and sure enough, the wifi turns off after a few minutes. It even turns itself off a few times when going through the activation process. I'm pretty sure this is the last time I will by an LG phone.
I just called LG to request another shipping label. He asked the obligatory, "have you pulled the battery and put it back in, factory reset the device, or anything else that has nothing to do with your issue?". I just don't understand why they have no quality control. The first time they replaced the camera and said it fixed the wifi issues. The second time they did replace the bluetooth and wifi module, but again, they didn't even check to see if it was resolved.
I asked the LG rep how to get the issue resolved, and he said I'll have to ship it back to them. What good it will do to ship it out a third time, I don't know. This is getting really irritating.

Thanks for the idea, but nothing turned on there.
Turns out that if I take my sim card out (Lycamobile, a MVNO running on T-Mobile's network), I don't have trouble with the wifi turning off, at least not yet after 6 hours. I'll try putting my sim card back in and see if the issue comes back, then try an unactivated T-Mobile sim card.
I'm guessing LG could never repro the issue.
Didn't matter which sim card I used, the wifi would turn itself off. Since it didn't seem to happen when no sim card was present, it makes me wonder if it was software related. I couldn't find anything, and nuked all the permissions to the T-Mobile apps, but it was still broken.
Off to LG for the third time. The normal LG customer service says they only do ground shipping for repairs, but the supervisor was able to get me an overnight label when I asked for faster shipping, so that helps. I also asked for a new (or refurbished) phone, but he said that was up to the repair technician.
Just got the phone back today. LG can't fix the device, yet they refuse to replace it. I've sent it in 3 times, and the issue is still not resolved. Turn on wifi, find and start to download an app, and it says no connection. Look, and the wifi is back off. Or YouTube. Or browsing the internet. Or doing nothing at all. Just turns itself off.
I get the phone back for a day, and immediately send it back in. Supervisors are useless - the only thing they can do is get you overnight shipping instead of ground. But the repair facility won't acknowledge it for two days after it arrives when it's overnight shipping.
Sick and tired of LG. LG says there is nothing they can do if the repair facility deems that it's fixable. They won't send a new or refurbished phone. The only course of action I have, per two supervisors, is to send it back in, and there is no other way. And the repair facility doesn't test to make sure their fix actually addresses the problem. No quality checks whatsoever. What a worthless company.
Sent back a fourth time, and just received it back after waiting another two weeks. Each technician just replaces the wifi/Bluetooth module but doesn't bother checking to see if the issue is fixed, which it's not. What's worse, is this time it looks like the phone has been dropped. I sent an almost brand-new phone to them (no scratches or blemishes), and now the metal bezel on one of the sides is all scratched up.
Waiting for a call back from yet another supervisor. My BBB complaint just has a response saying, we see that it was shipped back to you. They didn't even read the claim. Typical LG. I guess it's from corporate all the way down the chain. But if your superiors don't care, why would the underlings?
No more LG phones for me after this. These games are ridiculous, and it keeps getting worse (now my phone is all scratched up).
Received the phone back after the 5th "repair". Same issue with the WiFi, and the scratches on the bezel weren't addressed. BBB case was closed automatically after a week, despite them saying I had 10 days to respond.
I had thought about rooting and uninstalling the T-Mobile bloat before sending it to them for the third time, but figured I'd give LG another chance. I should have just done it, as removing all T-Mobile apps fixed the issue. Merely nuking the permissions from the apps had not previously done the trick.
Now I just have a scratched up phone, which I think I'll just live with rather than risk LG messing up something else, not to mention that rooting voids the warranty.
So I bought an LG Leon last Christmas and today did a factory reset on it. Shortly after doing this I come to learn about something called Android Device Protection As most of you will probably know, the phone now wants me to login with the old Android account. And here's the problem... I don't have that account. I wasn't planning on using the same Google account anymore, so I didn't even take note of what the username was. Furthermore, after spending over an hour trying to recover the Google account, I don't have any recovery options. So basically I have no way of knowing what my Google username was.
So apart from smashing it with a hammer and calling up the insurance company for a new replacement, what are my options?
Yes I bought a phone off a friend more acquaintance. It's not stolen or reported lost. It had no sim card nor micro sd card inside it was hard rest when I bought it. I can not get passed Google sign in. I typed my email over and over again nothing I accepted the device on my email alerts. I called Google to ask what can be done they said take to AT&T. I called AT&T explained again what the problem was. They said nothing they can do on there side take it to retail store they can crack it for me. So I took it to the store they looked at me like I was stupid. Left now on here hoping there is a solution. I called the company who made it they ran again the IMEI code again obviously same result not stolen nor lost. They can't help me they wanted m e to pay for shipping it in to where ever for a repair they claimed lol.
Other things I tried multiple hard resets clear cache. Same result. I tried even putting in a working sim card AT&T that I bought for it try clicking use the AT&T network to get the process started same result can't get past Google older email protection. I can not ask the dude I bought off for his password nor his gmail. Due to he uses yahoo. Now only and doesn't remember any of the sign in info.
Yeah, I feel ya there. This one so far has me baffled.
So in May of 2015 i purchased on Amazon a new Volt 2 to be used on Virgin Mobile with a yet to be established accoung. The next day my Mom surprised me by giving me her old Samsung and added me to her phone plan. The following week when The Volt 2 arrived, it got lost in the shuffle and instead of returning the phone, it got tossed in a closet... unopened... never activated... And no account opened with Virgin.
4 years later, a friend who is down on his luck just lost his cell phone. He doesnt have the money to replace it because he was laid off 2 weeks ago. I offered to put him on my plan with sprint becuase the plan i have is so cheap to add a line and figured i would give him my stashed Volt 2 since it's a CDMA phone and should work on Sprints network.... If life was only that easy.
When i went to check the IMEI number on Sprints site, it came back with a message that said something to the effect that the phone qualified but i had to bring in to a Sprint store to activate it. Just to protect myself i called Virgin and asked if the phone was locked and explained the whole situation to her. She looked up my IMEI and claimed there were no holds on the phone and shouldnt have a problem bringing it to sprint. i asked her to triple check that information which she did and assured me all would be ok with Sprint...
i go to Sprint the next day to add my line and though they didnt say it was locked, i was told i just couldnt use the device on their network. So before i esculate this issue with Sprint I decided when I got home to call virgin again and make 100% sure my device has no holds are on it anwhewre.... carrier hold, sim hold, device hold, any hold.. The tell me nothings wrong with it. In all honesty, I never told them on the phone that I never activated activated the device, as I assumed they would of seen that.
I put a request in with sprint to provision the phone to its network and the rep didn't seem to see why she couldn't they said it would take 72 hours and I'd get am email with the outcome. It's been 8 days no email.
I'm sure the problem is that I didn't have service on the phone for the required 12 months in order to get the carrier unlock restriction.... Obviously the fact that the phone hasn't been activated is what's messing up everyone's view if the device. It has no phone number, no account to tie it too and under the system under bootloader there's nothing there it blank. The phone starts up fine, i can connect to my wifi and use it just fine. But under settings there's no network associated to it and most everything is blank. I put a correct sim sprint card in and it says invalid sim. It tries authorizing and fails. It on every reboot it tries to activate and eventually fails. It will download update, but fails with an authentication error when rebooting and installing. Phones not rooted or hacked (yet). And I've looked into the unlock companies out there and told if I can't get the phone yo ask for an unlock code when putting another sim card in, then there's nothing they can do... I can't get it to do that, no matter what shortcut / hidden menu option I try. In fact even *#06# (or variation thereof) won't pull um the imei number. It's listed in the settings. But I wonder if the fact that it's not asking for an unlock code when changing SIMS is because it's not activated anywhere. But if I activate it, will a lock be put on it immediately? And why are they locking phones 4 years old... Come on.
So is this phone just junk unless I want to pay $40 a month to Virgin for a year? On a phone that's 4 years old?
For the record I posted a message on vigin communities message board not giving IMEI number and said I'd supply it through an PM if requested and I was simply replied to with the staple "phone must be activated on our network for 12 months" line.
i hate throwing away any electronics especially ones ive never used. Is that my only option if I want to use the phone anywhere else other than virgin?
Sorry for the long winded posting...i couldn't find a decent answer anywhere on Google when searching if can you unlock a phone that's never been activated.
Help.
not oe reply? ok maybe it was too long and boring tro read so ill just condense it to one line...
is there a way to unlock a prepaid phone form Virgin that i bought 4 years ago but never activated it on any network?
When i asked Virgin they claimed there was no lock on it, in fact they didnt even see the device. But when i tried activating it on Sprint, they showed a lock and said they could provision the phone and it would be available to move in 72 hours... that was 2 weeks ago and i still can't get the phone on Sprint.
So do i need to activate a 4 year old phone on Virgin and keep it for 12 months before it will get released? I tried an unlock service and they said if it doesnt ask to enter a unlock code, they cant help... i cant get it to ask for this code.... its a Volt 2
any suggestions?>
ill make this short and sweet got my device today from Tmobile, and device was locked as we all now know, i have NOT paid it off yet.
I tried using the "Pixel device unlock app" it did not work gave me a "server error" when trying to use it
i then went into the tmobile app and messaged support explaining i wanted the lock removed and had tried using the app and was presented with the "server error"
The guy told me he would take a look (once he understood what i wanted to do)
He asked for my IMEI and then asked me why I wanted to unlock the device, I told him it was because i wanted to have the full use of my device and access to the bootloader incase of an issue where I needed to flash factory firmware and prevent having to bring and pay for it too be RMA'd, 10 minutes later my device was whitelisted and now my device is unlocked.
I hope this helps anyone who's dreams were crushed like mine when I received a device with locked bootloader
Thanks guys, glad to be back
PS i use P6 as pixel 6 short script
I did not have as much luck as you. Spoke to two different reps and they both just kept repeating that it needed to be paid off before being permanently unlocked, regardless of the reason.

Same here. Tried through the app chat. Via FB. And then by call. All said that same thing.
I used the app chat via the TMobile app sorry to hear that tho, I guess I got lucky
Are you long time T-mobile customer? If they think you are very unlikely to leave T-mobile anyway, unlocking your device just increases your "loyalty" and no harm to them.
this is pretty common sense I thought...applies to all carrier.

You'll want to try to talk to your "local" team of experts during normal business hours found here in the US. I informed my service rep today that I understood their policy, but my Pixel 6's software was broken. That I needed to flash it via the Pixel utility found online. The rep wanted to via her documents, came back and said no promises. I reassured them the reason why and how I am not requesting it for any one EIP devices, just this one.
She came back and had whitelisted it. 10 minutes and done.
Messaging takes to long to explain this because they just push you off for 24-72 hours.

What do you mean local expert? Like the local retail store? What number did you call?
i just told them that the sim card support notification wont stop vibrating and it is annoying me, and I can't remove the notification without the device being unlocked. They went ahead and unlock the device for me.

I am too.. i chatted with sprint multiple times and they are dumber than a door nail unfortunately.. so I figured I would try Tmo support so went to the website and started a chat but said I wasn't a tmo/sprint customer yet then the rep came on and I said that I was told I could unlock the sim on the device to use other sim cards but the unlock app says server error.. He then asked for the IMEI and my phone number and submitted the request and said it should be unlocked within 24hrs lol.. so we'll see what happens.. The unlock app would either say server error or would say it isn't eligible since hasn't been on the account long enough
Sprint was completely oblivious.. spent hours talking to 5 reps across 2 days and got literally nowhere.. They kept telling me that my phone/plan already has sprint global roaming so I can use 2g data and .25c/min for calls lmao.. like that is not the same as using another sim card.. the last guy I talked to I explained everything and he read the prior chat and everything and said he will help me.. he then starts walking me through all these steps then ultimately says my device isn't eligible lol.. keep in mind this whole time I was requesting an exception for military deployment LOL.. not one of them understood what this meant or was.. the first guy even refused to transfer my chat when I asked to speak to someone who knows what I am talking about so I said he was trying to avoid getting surveyed and he laughed then began to tell me how to close chrome and clear cache and all this to try and close the chat out but it didn't work haha.. everytime i logged back in I got right back to him.. he finally randomly transferred me and someone elses name popped up who didn't even say anything and transferred me then next person said like 1 word then closed the chat then finally got the last person who almost made me believe he knew what he was doing lol..
then go to tmo and 1st time asking no problem, whats imei and phone number and request submitted lol.. now lets hope it actually works haha

Cool, does this mean you can now use dual sim (sim and probably esim) example 2 carriers? Does the tmobile even let you do dual sim connections.
