Same problem , But I have found a way to root. Just search for KINGROOT in XDA and use the PC version.
Connect your phone to the PC install the drivers and then youu can root this phone by KINGROOT. I have successfully rooted my device now.

Yes. This is original smartphone for chinese market. It supports all mobile networks in all countries.
After root u changed the ROM ? The recovery is the Chinese version I need to installed another . but I don't find a compatible ROM for this device .
I also have this version of K5 note (K52e78 ). I would like to update to Android 6.0 but havent found a rom yet.

I converted from Chinese and English ROM to an international one that is custom and I lost my IMEIs. I know that I can restore them with Maui Meta tool, but I can't for the life of me get it to connect with the tool. I always get stuck on a screen that says "phone has been in meta mode. Long press power button to boot normally". Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Should I press any button when connecting the phone to USB?

I was able to connect it in metamaui version 9.1548, I did as follows:
- I opened the program and clicked on reconnect
- I turned off the phone
- I connected the cable (the first time it failed pos was installing the driver, I disconnected the cable reconnected and in 10 seconds it was already connected.
Now I have another problem, did you get the db files to insert the imei? If you have found the file, please let me know the link, because I have everything working but my device is without imei

Couldn't even get it to connect with Meta MAUI even after 50 times at least, so I can't really help you. But you can find stock chinese ROMs here: http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/20032-китайские-официальные-прошивки-для-vibe-k5-notek52e78/

Thanks so much man, This worked like a charm. Instead of going to chinese recovery mode. I used clockworkmod app and flashed the upgrade.zip file. And worked like a charm. Gets the OTA upgrades and all. Thanks So much.

How did you use clockworkmod app to flash upgrade.zip if your phone isn't rooted and IF it is rooted, please please post how you did it. I have been looking for it all over the web and i couldn't find a way. KingoRoot & KingRoot doesn't seem to work. I tried to Android & PC versions none of them are able to root lenovo k52e78.

Hi. Could you sent me that file? Because if i download the Lenovo smart assistant and connat my phone and the i click on UPDTE ROM , then it fails on 0% of the download and i cant download the file . Also it says at InStorage 0/0.
I would be good if you could send me those files or just a fix for it.

1) Turn off your device
2) Locate the folder Rockusb_driver in the XTeam 4.1 folder and install the drivers for your computer.
3) on the tablet Hold sounds Down Button and connect the device.
4) open with right click and run as administrator the rk29update.exe
5) press the button "formatta!!!"
6) tick the "Loader"

install all the updates and in the end run the rk29update.exe again untick all the things there and keep only the kernel ticked and use the kernel i gave you.that match with your 5080 cpro. this time dont push formatta !!!.
Just overwrite the kernel and click aggiorna! !

Remember the steps are only for Prestigio PMP 5080 C PRO and NOT for the Prestigio 5080B.
For the Prestigio 5080B you must find the specific Kernel that works on the device cause else you will have problem with the ROTATION

Thanks for this tutorial. It still works. I successfully updated Prestigio to 4.1.1. tonight, but still experiencing problems. tablet screen blinks when on charger, it reports that battery is charging, but it does not etc...
It might be faulty charger (I hope) or charging adapter contact on board (worse scenario).
Idiotic thing is that there is no way to charge it over USB... And I need charger for test. I'll have to think of something....

Firmware: The s7-701u firmware can be downloaded from huawei website here (617mb) but the s7-702u firmware is privative, and can't be obtained for free... Some pages offer it for money ( for example AssanFile )
A friend from Panama with a s7-702u paid for his operator firmware and share it to me here (617mb) but it comming with some panama operator bloatware and logos.
Note: inside the zip file is a pdf with install instructions, both firmwares are Simcard Unlocked

0) Download the s7-701u firmare

4. You will see some running lines in the Android logo, hold still the volume down and wait for 10 seconds then release it.
5. Then let it reboot by itself.
6. Hard reseting done.

how can i update my android version
hello..
i was trying to root and install cwm.. and i unfortunately installed the wrong recovery now my phone does not start.. not even in recovery mode..
it shows a messege "Download and install package...........etc. press volume up to proceed down to cancel" pressing the keys don't do any thing phone gets off after a while.. i have a backup of stock recovery and boot but i think both files are same its 20mb both.. i had used Flashify to backup. and i can't even enter fastboot my pc does not detect my phone perhaps because i don't have the drivers... is it possible to fix my phone or its dead for ever..:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::silly::silly::crying:

In my coolpad dazen 1 when I was try to flash new software it stop at 11%. What should I do? Plz help me. I tried both stock room software.

i have managed to get my coolpad dazen 1 back to life.what i have done is flash different partition with fastboot.
if ur coolpad boots in download mode and secure phone is written and cant be flashed with ygdp tool.there this method is applicable.
like fastboot flash (partition) (file name) .for example "fastboot flash system system.img".if u r confused let me explain widely-
1.I have coolpad stock firmware in .cfb file.you can download it from internet.
2.I installed ygdp tool latest version.To copy data of firmware.you can copy it just load the .cfb file in ygdp tool.Do not flash with it just load the firmware in ygdp tool now when checking is done. go to your ygdp tool installation directory like "c:/ygdp".where ygdp tool is intalled. go to folder downfiles there u will find a folder named 8297l-100 copy it to another safe location.
3.now open partition.xml file in 8297l-100.there u will find partition name and file name.
4.go to ur adb or fastboot folder.
5.open a cmd window by "shift+right click".
6.now command fastboot devices.if ur phone is detected u can flash the partition manually.like fastboot flash (partition name) (file name).
7.partition name should be named correctly otherwise it will fail.
"Tools " u will need-
1. coolpad dazen 1 drivers for pc
2. adb drivers for coolpad dazen 1.
3. ygdp tool latest
thats all folks hope u will able to unbrick ur dazen 1

buddy pls tell us if
1. The phone is rooted.
2. The android version is factory or you installed it.
3. You are flashing the rom in stock recovery or other recovery.
When you bought it what was the android language?
If you are having trouble with flasing i advice you to use pc tools. Because in phone you will need to root the device first. If you well know the conditions of root. :good:
I tried to change the Chinese Firmware to Global firmware to (Meizu Pro 7) and now I have a problem.
I followed this guide on this web:

I also couldn't open the Update.zip file with Winrar or another archive program.
then, I tried to do this :

but I couldn't find the “update.zip” file there.
finally, I tried to open the update.zip by pressing "Update".

My phone is stock on the screen "flyme".

I had same problem and this guy fixed my phone get in touch with him because there is nothing else you can do meizu left a lot of us hanging for over 3 months and no help . Good luck

For 3 month, I hope you have find the solution. If you don't, here is mine :
I had the same problème on my phone.
I couldn't reinstall it, I think the version that I downloaded wasn't compatible with the "Chinese" version of my mobile.
You need to find the good firmware !
Could you try with this chinese firmware : MEIZU PRO7 Standard Version -Flyme6.1.3.2A-7.0
It's worked on my phone.
So,
Press and hold the volume up and power button until the screen goes on recovery mode.
Connect the device to the laptop or PC, you can open the device. You will see an empty partition named recovery.
Now copy the downloaded firmware of your phone and place it in the recovery partition. Just copy update.zip to recovery partition.
Now in the phone select update firmware and clear data and press next.
The phone will reboot and install the firmware.
Wait, wait, wait 15mn be patient.
tell me if it's working on your phone.

Was everything, such as google playstore and english language, still working on you phone after you updated the firmware?
I was also wondering if theres need to backup the IMEI somewhere?
Im currently running a modified verision of 6.1.3.2A which doesnt have all the features for the 2nd display and hence looking for an upgrade.

I used this chinese version less than 10mn. I would advise you to install the G firmware !
I didn't install the playstore (too thing in chinese in this firmware) that's why after running the version 6.1.3.2A, i used this tutorial :

Ah ok, so you only used it to be able to flash the global rom on?
Ive read multiple places that its not possible to update from A to G, thats why i was thinking about going to the 7.0.0.0A ROM instead. The shop i bought it from (CECT, who are not very well informed at all) told me it would brick the phone to go to G from A, my phone is apparently not intended for global sale thats why they make their own version and flashes it on...
So now im just looking for someone who can confirm that updating to the A-rom wont remove google play or english.

No i just use rescue and smart application from motorola web. After i download firmware on application and flash i think can solve my problem on account problem but i got new problem my devices stuck in edl mode. And use another solution use QFIL application but i got thats arror pop.

Problem is that phone is stuck in Download mode and its not possible to turn it off or switch the mode. It can still communicate over COM port within Download mode.
Bootloader was locked.
Is there any way how to get phone from this state?
Ideally I need Global ROM there, but getting it into original state with Chinese ROM would help as well.

Download Chinese ROM from link above
Open Lenovo Smart and Rescue assistant and let it download Lenovo L70081 ROM
Open folder with downloaded ROM from Lenovo Smart and Rescue assistant - you should see bunch of extracted ROM files
Delete all files from that ROM folder
Extract Chinese ROM to Lenovo ROM folder
Run standard Rescue process in Lenovo Smart and Rescue assistant
After this, device will have Chinese ROM and will be booted in FastBoot mode.
Problem is that it doesnt want to boot to OS
EDIT 2:
I´ve also fixed booting problem. Now it will load Chinese OS without any troubles:
Open QFIL
Select Meta Build
Select Programmer path as "prog_firehose_ddr.elf" from extracted Chinese ROM files
Load Content.xml from Chinese ROM files ("contents.xml")
Press Download
Switch phone to Download mode (press and hold all volume and power buttons for a while and the plug a cable to side USB port)
Download will start automatically and it´ll flash whole OS
If step 5 will not be enabled, use step 6 and press Download right after phone is detected by QFIL

First part is with Lenovo rescue. Second was with QFIL. But I think first should work with QFIL as well, just didnt try it...

Okay from a non booting phone... Used your first method of replacing global rom with Chinese ROM in rescue app... Got it to go into bootloader afterwards. Yay...
Now I tried using gfil and nothing...it keeps failing.

The easier Way for me was
Download Chinese ROM from link above
Open Lenovo Smart and Rescue assistant and let it download Lenovo L70081 ROM
Open folder with downloaded ROM from Lenovo Smart and Rescue assistant - you should see bunch of extracted ROM files
Go directly into the ROM Folder what namend "L70081_ROW_SECURE_USER_......"
Delete all files (abl.elf, aop.mbn, and so on) from that ROM folder
Extract Chinese ROM folder and go into the extracted Folder named "L70081_CN_SECURE_USER_......"
Copy all the files from inside the folder "L70081_CN_SECURE_USER_......" to the Folder "L70081_ROW_SECURE_USER_......"
Run standard Rescue process in Lenovo Smart and Rescue assistant
After this, device will have Chinese ROM and will be booted in this ROM.
This worked for me two times

No this thread is for firmware issues. I got mine working using the method oldboy mentions.
I tried several times, but now my cell phone doesn't show anything on the screen. Could you give me a hand? in qfil several errors appear.

need to search on google. there have a few thing tht lead to sahara fail. n let the phone in download mode for a long time also one of it. after u connet to pc u need to press download quick.

i tried replacing global rom with china rom in rsa now my phone is brick and i tried flashing in qfil it keeps on failing my phone is locked bootloader. any fix?
