I tried to reset the windows and from that moment I have only the logo of your company and after that a black screen.
I did the following :
1. At the very beginning i hold down the Power key in order to switch on the device.
2. Afterwards i hold down Shift key (on screen keyboard).
3. While the Shift key is still pressed, i tap Restart option and confirm the operation.
4. In the next step i choose Troubleshoot.
5. Then i tap Reset my PC and i confirm operation by pressing Next.
6. I choose Fully clean the drive.
After some time, the message I got was: "There was an error and hit cancel".
I tried to cancel it but it was nothing happen. So i shut it down.
After that i try to get in bios:
I push the power button and hit the "del" on my keyboard but nothing happens.
( I connected the keyboard to the device on USB )
my device simply makes restarting all the time.
Can you tell me what to do?
best regards from GREECE

2. Press More
3. Select Accessories
4. Select Clear Storage
5. You will be prompted to enter a code, enter 1234

- a messege will apear, press the navigation key.
- the device will reset to factory settings
- a messege appear asking to press vol up to restart

HTC s740 backup before reset
hi...i would like to know if there is anything one can do to back the information up before resetting the Phone as i have crucial Data i cant affort to loose. PLS HELP!?
There are few backup softwares which can backup almost everything on your phone, and you can easily recover it after hard reset. I personally use Sprite Backup, which is probably the best one.
I have a viewpad 7 it has been stuck in a loop from the 'birds' to the 'welcome' screen to a view seconds of black back to the 'birds' again for the last 2 hours. I am afraid that whatever game my daughter loaded on this evening is to blame, but I don't know. (ninja fruit)
I have tried pushing the reset, pushing reset with holding down the start, and it still does the loop throughout it all.
I am not high tech and have not attempted to modify anything so high tech on the system. I have sent an email to viewsonic in attempts to find out what to do, but I don't know when I will get a response on that....In the meantime I found this site, and am repectfully requesting any assistance.
Thank you in advance for your patience/response,

Dear mpsquared,
I met the same problem with the viewpad 7 that I bought for my sister, and the "Welcome" screen kept looping on and on non stop.
To solve this mess, you have to hard-reset your device (Attention: this will wipe clean all your user data on the device except for those on the SD card and revert your device to the factory condition.) as follows:
1-During the looping "Welcome" screen, press and hold the "Volume +" and the "Volume -" buttons simultaneously.
2-While holding the "Volume +" and the "Volume -" buttons, insert a fine pin in the "Reset " hole (located in the bottom besides the mini usb port and the "mic" hole ).
3-While still holding the "Volume +" and the "Volume -" buttons, leave the pin and quickly press the "Power" button. The device will restart with the famous Birds logo and at the top left "Enter recover mode" is shown.
4- Once the screen goes blank, let go of all the buttons (Power and "Volume +" and the "Volume -" buttons) and wait for the recovery utility to load (it should take only a second or two).
5- In the recovery utility: move down and up within the menu using the "Volume +" and the "Volume -" buttons to reach the "Wipe Data / Factory Reset "and to choose this option press the "Power" button.
6-Next, a confirmation window will appear, choose "Yes" from alot of "No's" and then press the "Power" button again to confirm.
7-Your Device will start wiping the user data and then it will reboot to the Android just like the first time you powered it on with instructions to set up your google account.
I hope this works for you as it did for me.
Cheers

I have the very same problem. My Viewpad 7 just loops on boot after 'WELCOME' message. How can I restore my phone without delete/wipe data? Because there is very important information I don't want to lose. Or is there a way to copy/backup data from phone before wiping?

It worked for me, but I saw there was an option to just re-boot and that sorted my ViewPad out well. I think it had too many apps, so I got rid of Skype for a start. That was a bit heavy. Updates seem to bother my tablet, so maybe I won't do too many of those either in the future. I'm much obliged for your posting. I thought my machine had met its end !

Hello, the tablet CN98 Chinese Not starting... Is remaing to loading Android for 20 minutes, I didn't found recovery menu, any suggestion? thanks for help
get the orginal frimware from Crony company
and follow this steps:
1 . Acqure the firmware file from manufacturer
2. Download livesuit (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lawkcbqhbictar4).
Follow these Instructions to flash .img file through livesuite (I found them elsewhere):
3. Open LiveSuit.exe
Double-click to open the upgrade tool LiveSuit.exe
4.Select the firmware
Click the cube to the far left to select the firmware .img file.
5. Turn off your tablet
6. Press the key combination to start it in the upgrade mode
a. Press the "Vol -" key, then press the "Power" button, hold two buttons at the same time
b. Connect the USB cable to tablet and computer
c. After connecting the USB cable, press the power button 6 times quickly or hold the "Vol -" keys and the "Power" button for more than 6 seconds (you should get a pop up window if done correctly , if not repeat step 5 from beginning)
d. DON'T release the "Vol -" button till the LiveSuit window pops up
e. You can now release the "Vol -" button
(Note: If you install the driver at this time the pop-up dialog box, the path to point to installation directory UsbDriver LiveSuit folder, click Next to complete the driver installation prompts).
You should see LiveSuit window pops up; otherwise, you didn't do it correctly, you have to repeat step 4 and 5.
7. Select the format to force upgrade
Livesuit prompt "force format", click "Yes" (Y). All of the original apps installed will be removed. We highly recommend mandatory format! ! ! Otherwise the update is not complete and may brick! ! !
8. Upgrade begins
Pop-up "OK to force format" dialog box, select "Yes", the upgrade begins.
9. The upgrade is complete
Firmware download process last about three and a half minutes or so, please wait until the prompt "upgrade successful."
10. Automatic restart
After the upgrade is complete, your tablet will automatically restart, then you can unplug the USB cable.
Slow start-up for the first time, please be patient.
If the machine does not restart automatically, press and hold the Power button for 8-10 seconds or more to ensure the power switch off, then press the Power button 3 seconds or more to turn on your tablet.
11. Congratulations! You have flashed the firmware.

"I have tried everything, Please help me!"
1. For sure it will not be detected by flash tool, and for sure you didn't tried everything because in order to flash your device you need to put your device into EDL mode known as Emergency Download Mode.
Here is example which point you need to short with wire ot twizzers and plug usb in while you are holding those pins...

Good luck...
