Unfortunately I don't think so. Once Knox is tripped you can't go back. It blows a hardware fuse to ensure it can't be reversed
The new Knox implementation is different from previous iterations, when Knox is tripped, it permanently triggers an e-fuse, there is no way to revert that, Knox can only be faked to show intact Knox with a custom kernel
---------- Post added at 04:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:25 AM ----------
The only way to reset e-fuse is by changing the motherboard

To the part there's no return when Knox is tripped i know it, now that part of fake knox with custom kernel is new to me! There's any tutorial to do it? Or any other method to stop Samsung Pass to bother me?

Nope, s
99% of samsung apps verify knox from e-fuse, even if you fake, it won't work, the only way to get your knox 0x0 is by changing your motherboard

Well, I know you've all been waiting for the MJ4 update, and I have all the system files ready to go. However, the baseband refuses to update past MI3 for me. Nothing i've done gets this thing updated past MI3. I had it at MI5 at one point, but in an attempt to get the MJ4 update before someone passed it along to me, I Odined back to MI3 and now have the stupid message about roll-out updates exceeding.
Basically, anyone with any sort of knowledge in this please chime in with suggestions, ideas, whatever!
I know a few of you have had trouble getting past MI3 yourself with my firmware update. My phone updated fine with it in the beginning, but now it won't. I'm assuming samsung has some security checks in place that reverts any changes unless they're official?
I have tried the following:
-dd from a friend's phone who has MI5. No luck, mine is still at MI3.
-created a flashable zip from the update.zip MJ4 OTA. System files get updated fine, but baseband remains at MI3.
-created a flashable zip with just the modem/apnhlos updates. No luck, still remains at MI3.
-created a odin tar with MI5 modem/apnhlos from a friend's phone. No luck, ODIN refuses to flash it.
-tried flashing the official MI5 update from MI3 with stock recovery. No luck, signature verification error.
-tried flashing the official MJ4 update from MI3 with stock recovery. Obviously no luck, signature verification error, and i'm on an older MI3.
-tried creating an all in one flashable from MI3 all the way up to MI4. Works in custom recovery, however, baseband remains at MI3.
-tried dd aboot, rpm, tz, sbl1, sdi, manually from adb, then applying MI5 update, then MJ4. No luck, baseband remains at MI3
It looks as though if you haven't been officially updated, it refuses to update any of the core firmware.
I'm pretty stumped and annoyed at Samsung for their HTC-style crap they're pulling on us. This may be my last Samsung phone.
If anyone has any ideas or would like to test things please feel free to reply back with suggestions or whatever.
How can the signature verification be fixed

Well I wonder if we can get it to work through kies.
It seems to me this was something we had to do at one point with the epic 4G the one with the slide case.

That's a good question, because i'm applying the untouched update.zip and it still says signature verification failed.

Probably, but kies keeps telling me that firmware initialization isn't available for my phone
The problem isn't how to update officially, it's how to apply baseband updates for rooted people, which is looking very hard or impossible to do.
It's like .....if you're rooted, you can't get anything. We can keep updating the android system just fine, but any firmware or baseband updates absolutely refuse to apply. I'm guessing a firmware update is what solved the audio popping problems too. Maybe a android system update did, but who knows.
When I tried to update through the stock recovery it said the signature verification failed but the update finished. But in the phone nothing changes at all. That's kinda strange I've never seen that before, it either does the update , or it fails.

well what im thinking right off the bat is to modify the actual kies program itself so that we could get it to recognize the firmware we want to update to as the one it finds. if you could get me the extracted files I can see what I can come up with.

the original update.zip or the updated MJ4 android system files?
The other option would be to make a modified odin.
I'm not knowledgeable but got a question. Can you Odin back to stock mi5 or mi3 via the official stock stuff?
Also you obviously are knox tripped maybe that USA the problem?

what we need to see is exactly how odin and or kies is communicating with that part of the device and modify it to do it differently.

Yeah that would be an option, if someone can create one with all the necessary files (not just a system image, but recovery, modem, etc) Because the official updates won't apply if you have mixed firmwares. So if a modified odin image were created, it would have to contain all the MI5 firmware as well.

You can definitely odin back to MI3. I don't think there is an Odin MI5 around. The problem is, since Samsung is rolling out these updates in stages, probably to avoid server load, people will be stuck on MI3 until they allow more updates. You'll get the error message about roll-out updates exceeding.

I'll upload them in a sec. It'll be like 1.3gb so it may take me around 30 minutes to upload. Also, I don't have the official MJ4 kernel either. I don't know how to properly extract the update.zip. It was created in a way that doesn't allow traditional extraction. If you repair it with winrar, it treats the boot.img as a corrupted file and excludes it from the rebuilt zip file.

The update.zip that freeza posted didn't work at all even though I'm not rooted either. Like stated before it gave me the signature verification failed and it went through with the update. But nothing in the system changed not the build number nor the baseband nor anything at all. I'm not trying to sound like an a.. but I just want to explain as clearly as I can.

By unmodified do you mean custom status or knox tripped . Only reason I ask is cause I was on mi5 not rooted Samsung strsight. I flashed mi3 stock and rooted via the deja (whatever the no knox trip method is called) faked system status normal with wanam and than took the ota (again straight sammy) to Mi5 and re rooted via deja again.

Unmodified meaning custom status. Knox trip as far as i know won't have an affect on your ability to receive updates, BUT now that you mention it, maybe it has an affect on you being able to manually update your baseband. I was only able to do it one time with a flashable zip, and I am not sure if i were knox tripped or not, but i sure am now.
Whoever you can think of, we could definitely use their help!

Before the update came out my phone was saying i was modified when i have not done ANYTHING to my phone yet. I told my brother n he told me to take the SD card out because Samsung has a weird bug with SD cards that if u have too many files or something it'll say ur modified. Idk but after i did that i got the exceeded error..... Also if u just clean up ur SD card it'll work too. He actually sent this

she (sorry )may be thinking of me. I'm out at cota today doing formula 1 stuff so will be a little bit before I can help. But I can say...
Was able to go from mi3 to mi5 (baseband included) using DeLaVega root and wanam. But then had to do some messing to get mi5 to show official.
Alternatively was also able to get official with wanam on mi5 by using the DeLaVega script and wanam on the official mi5 firmware also.
In both cases baseband was changed.when going back to MI3 and forward to mi5.both cases root still worked. Knox still 0x0
Of course no matter which method i try I still get update exceeded and am waiting for mj4.
I do have a few more ideas for you guys but need some time in front of a pc.to be sure. And a copy of the update to verify.
I'll set aside some time this evening.

I'm afraid you can't. The only way to root note 3 without triggering knox was kingo root, but it only worked for 4.3 and no longer works for 4.4 (tried it about a week ago)
you could root 4.3 then upgrade to rooted 4.4 without triggering knox, but i think it's too late for that now for you

This should do it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655450
P.S. Triggereing knox will cause your phone to display message about warranty being void on boot. Effectively this voids your warranty with Samsung. People say that Sprint until now did not do much trouble about servicing phones with knox warranty bit tripped. This can change any time.

Knox is an extra layer of containerized security between your phone and other devices for the transfer of data. That's the official definition, actually its written by the NSA for Samsung. Can you say SPYWARE? This info is right off the Samsung website.

I run 4.4.2 NC5, stock, rooted, with Philz custom recovery. I disabled and removed KNOX, and flashed Philz recovery ( which voided my warranty the second day I owned the device ). They are working on a way the reset KNOX warranty counter.
OK, if you root your phone with Towelroot it will NOT trip the KNOX warranty counter. Here is the link https://towelroot.com/ this will give you the ability to run certain apps like WiFi Tether Router that needs root.
Now, if you flash a custom recovery ( highly recommended and needed if want to flash other roms ) here is the link to PhilZ CWM recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 I would use hltespr version 6.12.9 .tar this is the latest Sprint version. This will definitely trip the KNOX warranty counter. But think about, did you root your phones in the past? I have, and Sprint never gave me a problem with the warranty.
The Note 3 is an awesome device !!! Enjoy !!!

You can definitely downgrade without tripping your Knox counter.. Download the full tar from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761412 and use Odin on your PC to flash down to NE6. If you want to upgrade to NG3 and stay rooted you have to purchase mobile Odin pro from the play store and upgrade to NG3 that way.

You didn't search quite far enough as the question has been posed and answered quite a few times. Anyway, yes you can downgrade on the S5. Samsung may block that in the future with something called a qfuse, but at this time it works fine. It won't trip Knox unless you have really bad luck e.g. interrupting the write. Do the downgrade from a notebook as a power interruption (as unlikely as that may be) on a desktop computer could crash and increment the Knox flag.
Provided that you have a 900T model or at least a non-Exynos model, then revert to a pre June 3rd 4.4.2 firmware build for your S5 model with Odin. Then Towel root will work on the earlier firmware.
.
Thanks for your replies. Got root working with knox 0x0.
I'm curious if anyone knows how to, or has had success using Towelroot on 4.4.4 I've heard you can changing parameters of some sort, but the article was very vague.

At this time there is not a way to root 4.4.4 NH7 WITHOUT tripping KNOX !!! Towel Root, CF-Autoroot, and Kingo will all trip KNOX !!!
If there is a way to get the NC5 kernel to work on 4.4.4 then yes. But I have flashed NC5 kernel and after the Samsung screen it goes blank. Maybe someone could modify the NC5 kernel to at least boot then we could use towelroot. Then flash back to NH7.

Jon I think I found something, on this site http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2014/09/To...4-S5-and-Note3-Android-4.4.2-NF-or-Later.html . The DL's are on the bottom of the site for Sprint. Check it out !!! It appears you can root to 4.4.4 NH7 by swopping kernels without tripping KNOX !!!

Well if you don't want to trip KNOX, you have to go back to NC5 and use Towel Root. So, here is how to do it.
First, you have to odin flash 4.4.2 NC5. Go to my thread all the info is there http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/samsung-note-3-rom-flashin-basics-t2896440
Now let help you out with the bumpy parts, chances are that when the device tries to boot up the first time after you flash back to NC5 it will bootloop. DON'T panic it's happened to me lots of times !!! Just pull the battery and wait a couple of minutes then reinsert. Now hold the power button, and volume up button and the menu button at the same time this will boot you into the stock recovery. Now using the volume up and down button navigate to factory reset and push the power button. This will factory reset the device and it should boot with your new NC5 4.4.2 OS. Now got back to my thread and follow the rooting part. REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DATA i.e. PICS AND MUSIC TO YOUR PC FIRST !!!
