Alright, after countless of googles, I decided to turn to the one place I'm sure to find an answer. Here's the deal: I'm a tech-geek, and I get bored with stuff every so often. To be honest, I had five different phones the last year, starting with an Xperia X1, heading onto an X10, X10 mini pro, iPhone 4 - to eventually land with an Optimus One. I don't know how I got stuck with that phone, but I rather like it!
Now recently I lost my job - I'm not in any trouble as I got a new job already, however my next few paychecks will have to be spent on other things than phones. As you may notice, I'm good at drifting away, so - as I was saying - here's the deal:
I want Windows Phone 7 on my Android Device. To be honest, I'm getting tired of Android, it offers no variety (yeah, I know there are launchers, homecooked roms and all that - that's not what I'm looking for). It's the same thing day in day out, and I want to change! Now I discovered how amazing Windows Phone 7 is, I actually find it astonishing how Microsoft managed to pull it off, but hey - congrats! Anyhow, is there a way to get Windows Phone 7 on this device? I know it was done on the HTC HD2, so it should be possible, riiight? I'll let you guys discuss it - I sure hope it's possible.
Yeah I hope dual boot android with windows phone 7 on optimus one:-D.
I seriously doubt that is gonna happen.
you can do out when you develop it yourself.best of luck you.

HTC HD2 was originally a Windows phone (WM 6.5) so thats probably why its possible to port Windows Phone 7 to it, and also because of the popularity of the device and hardwork of the devs.
I doubt that an original android phone will be able to run windows phone 7 in the near future, even less a low spec phone like O1. ( i cud be wrong tho.. )

What ... HTC HD2 ... is a ... Windows phone ??!
OK ... that's good info.
yup HTC HD2 is a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone to be exact
in the previous post, i meant that it was a phone running windows and not talking about the OS 'Windows Phone 7', hence the reason for the small letter.

Sorry, but can't. only WVGA phones can be WP7.
About hd2 have a look at the hardware specs the phone boasts.
1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset .
quadrant score over 4000 without overclocking that too on 850 Mhz and an [email protected] 1.5 GHZ
and god knows what.
I've seen it's forum it's got win mobile, android, windows phone 7 and Ubuntu too. and guess what kubuntu not to mention but a laggy meego too.
It's had android in nand and it's got windows phone7 in nand.
it's got windows phone 7 in nand and android on sd dual boot.
It's a monster device.
God I'm gonna get one of those.
Guess I wrote too much don't wanna delete it now;-)

PS3 Emulator? do you mean the app that lets you use your ps3 6-axis controller as a game pad on your android?
no its an actual emulator...i pulled it up through google, not sure which site but it was going for 49.99 and it was a PS3 Emulator, i just cant seem to find it anywhere for free lol

I can GUARANTEE you its a total SCAM the fastest desktops on the planet can't do PS3 emulation, hell it takes a Gaming rig to do WII emulation smoothly, no way in hell a smart phone could handle this. Even the BEST emulators require 10 times the processing power of the device there emulating to work.
There is on the other hand a PSX (PS1) emulator for android, but thats it. Quick search also reveals there is an app that creates a FAKE ps3 "emulator" to use to fool your friends thats fairly close to your price listed.
it's impossible to emulate ps3 in any way: each one of 8 little processor inside are at least as powerful as our chipset and it also has a main cpu, a powerful video card. Maybe you are talking about a streaming application. This application shows the game on your razr and send back the inputs to a computer o ps3 that render the game. I heard something about it but i'm not interested at all
You could try OnLive or
GaiKai by Nvidia when its out, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680968
This guy speaks the truth, I installed the same app on my NES, N64, and Dreamcast. Worked flawlessly. Even threw it on my microwave AND my toaster. You wouldn't believe the graphics my toaster pumps out! Tomorrow I'm going to try the app on my Gameboy (not the colour), hello 1080P black and white gaming!
Seriously, this doesn't exist.

Where can i get that Toaster?
Gesendet von meinem XT910 mit Tapatalk 2
It's a Canadian thing. We're slowly cornering the market on zamboni and toaster research.
This made my day haha
Yeah, I'm also in! I plan to import these toasters for German market big style! When we have success, we will provide an toaster-emulator on Google Play Store! We will get rich!!!!
PS3 Emulator?!!!
Shut up and take my money! /s

The PS3 doesn't have an 8 core processor, or 8 processors, it has 3 cores, with 8 compartments. The graphics card on the ps3 is clocked at 550 Mhz, which is about twice as much as the Razr, on powerful desktop PCs the clock speed can reach one Gigahertz. It only has 512 MB of main RAM and has 256 MB of RAM on it Graphics card. The ps3 and Xbox 360 are antiquated by any standard.
Also the other feature your talking about is called OnLive, it streams games pre rendered from servers onto your device.
Excuse me, I just a get little angry when somebody has no idea what they are talking about, yet try to educate other people with their words.

xbox 360 and PS3 are like the iphone antiquated hardware but optimized code since they don't have to get it to work with 100's of different setups, but even so the PS3 is still 10-20 years from being emulated barring a massive tech jump to quantum computing, LOL.

...or even worse, get it wrong yourself as you ridicule others.
The PS3's cell processor system uses a single Power PC processor clocked at 3.2Ghz. It has 8 SPE coprocessors. 7 main units and 1 redundancy unit. So, there are really a total of 9 CPU's in the system.

A coprocessor is not considered a full CPU, it just helps the main CPU with tasks, that's why they called one of then redundancy units, you don't throw another CPU in their for the LOLs.
Hence 1 CPU, 8 compartments.
I was going to say something witty about ridiculing, but I got confused. :sly:

It's a generalized reference to the processing speed. Mega, giga, and teraflops (FLOP=FLoating point OPerations per second) is an accurate measurement. Hertz really only related to how fast a particular processor is clocked.
Can someone tell me where I can read about the specs of Galaxy S3 and the specs about what everything is?
I mean we have "Arm Cortex A9", which is the CPU right? But the instruction set is "ARMv7" as I understand it, like to know more about that.
Then there's "Tegra 3", which I now understand is not in the S3 but rather "Exynos 4412". And that is the GPU?
And then there's something called ARMv7 NEON.
Well, those are the things I want to learn about. And I think it's better to read some spread sheet or whatever instead of getting short, sporadic answers here.
But I have Googled for a long time now and most pages is just copies from the same source and not very specific.
In conclusion, if you can point me to a site or file where I can read about all this, I will let you have my wife for 2 nights!
Since I am not married you will have to settle for myself in a wig portraying your dream woman! Sound good? Naaah.. I know
But you will have my sincere gratitude!

Well, i can say that the exynos 4412 is the chip set that's the S3 uses. So basically that is the quad core goodness. Tegra 3 is a dofferent chip set, made by a different manufacture (ndiva[ sorry i spelt that wrong]). Each chipset handles tasks differently. Tegra 3 i belive is suppose to be great at 3D gaming if i recall properly, however Tegra 3, in my opinion (i have a Tegra 3 device) is crap. Exynos 4412 and the exynos 4453(?) That is going to be released by Samsung are much better. However probably the best chipset out there is most likely the snapdragon S4. I have only seen this in dual core phones, but once this chipset hits quadcore it will be unstoppable. Armv7 is the artitechure of... something. Sorry I do not know too much about ARM besides ARM9 is better than 7 and 11 is better than 9 and so on. ARM is kinda the same thing as Intel on a windows computer, but ARM has MUCCHH more battery life. So basically if u ran Windows on your android phone it would lag a lot, not because the phone doesn't have the power, but because the OS is not designed for the way the hardware is set up. But if u run Linux( which is designed for ARM on your android developed device it runs smoothly (can say this is true, I've tried it ) that noted, Linux can run on a Intel windows computer smoothly. Not sure why. I've basicily spewed as much knowledge as I have at you here, but i also want to let u know that you will eventually learn what all these chip sets are and what they do, etc with time. (I am presuming you are relatively new with Android, i apologize if i am mistaken)

There was a lot of good info there nodstuff and I probably can piece it together now with a little patience.
But one thing that is not mentioned is NEON. Where does that fit in?
OK, quad s4 is not "unstoppable" just wait for the 5 series exynos processors which will be true A-15 architecture.
They will kerb stomp the **** out of the s4.
Also Armv7 is not the same as A-9, v7 is the instruction set, there is also an A-7 and it is the architecture. (A-9, A-7, A-15, etc.)

People are usually ridiculed for asking questions that other people deem stupid even though it may be a legitimate question this leads to new users being afraid to ask questions because of the fear of attacks by members who are suppose to help.
The premise of the help thread is that there is
NO TROLLING
NO NAME CALLING
NO RIDICULING
NO FLAMING
Only well mannered help towards users in this thread no question is a stupid question
If u don't want to answer at least point in the right direction

Hi there,
Ok, I am a huge fan of old game consoles (nes, snes, psx, etc), but I have always been dissapointed by the emulator performance in most Android devices, there is always sound and gameplay lag of some sort. Not even my 1 Gz dual-core phone can emulate psx at fullspeed ;(. Even a console with an older and slower cpu like the Pandora Classic runs the same emulator far better than my phone.
So, do you think game emulaors (and other similar apps) will run better on Ubuntu touch?

Probaly android apps have a java overlay which means they go slower as apps run through android then java so i guess in that regard yes
But what emulators are u trying. I'm a emumanic and everything runs at full speed except for ps1 but there still playable on 836mhz armv6 processor
So dual core should be blowing them out of the water its probaly your settings for ps1 i use fpse what'd u use?

Thanks Tingin, well I tested the emulators that come with the RetroArch release for Android. The psx emulator is pcsx-rearmed, one of the best, free psx emulators out there. It was released originally for the OpenPandora, an arm powered gaming console that runs some linux distro. The emulator runs almost all games fullspeed at 800 Mhz, and by that I mean with no frameskip. The cpu of pandora classic is a 600 Mhz Cortex A8, my phone has a 1Gz Cortex A9 with a better gpu, so it should easily beat the pandora there.
I talked with a dev from RetroArch, and he confirmed that there is a drop in performance in all the emulator cores compared to other devices. Even his GameCube beats his Cortex A8 tablet in the tests he has run.
BTW, I'm an emumaniac too , but I'm also very picky when it comes to playing a game using an emulator, because I like to play with no frameskip at all, and no sound lag.
So I really hope, Ubuntu touch will really use "the full power of the phone".

Thank god we finally have an official Q&A for Ubuntu Touch.

I'm porting Ubuntu to my device. (One X) However when I enter the ubuntu-session command I can't see anything else but a black screen. Any ideas?

Thanks Tingin, well I tested the emulators that come with the RetroArch release for Android. The psx emulator is pcsx-rearmed, one of the best, free psx emulators out there. It was released originally for the OpenPandora, an arm powered gaming console that runs some linux distro. The emulator runs almost all games fullspeed at 800 Mhz, and by that I mean with no frameskip. The cpu of pandora classic is a 600 Mhz Cortex A8, my phone has a 1Gz Cortex A9 with a better gpu, so it should easily beat the pandora there.

U should try fpse just the fact that I can get close to full speed on some games (no frameskip) is enough my phone is dead slow a 1ghz a9 should be more than enough all u need to do is turn on boost mode this isn't frameskip it uses the BIOS file to help with emulation it isn't on by default because there's a chance it'll crash but I never had any problems plus this app is updated regular only thing is that it's paid but its still worth it
PHONE SLOW CLICK ME?

The issue without having s-off is that the device isn't completely unlocked. I'm not sure if writing custom kernels with s-on is an issue with the One X (I've been out of the HTC game for a long time).
I digress though. Is there CM 10.1 for your phone?

On our device boot partition can be written to with a pc and fastboot commands.
We do have CM10.1 and it works quite flawlessly. I used kernel and device trees from it.

Someone had mentioned something similar in the Toro Plus forum. By the way, don't know if it counts as a port, but the Sprint Galaxy Nexus (Toro Plus) also has a version up and running. Absolutely no radio though, just WiFi.

I have a functioning d2att port. Pm for DL if you want it. WiFi doesn't work without doing stuff through ssh. Not sure of the process though. Also 3g/cell service doesn't work yet. So still a wip.

@mods please let someone answer me, I'll delete this thread after, I'm tired of asking for help.
so if any of you happens to know about Graphic cards of pc, PLS HELP.
Here it goes. ..
Hello all, please help me I'm very short on money and want to buy a new graphic card. first of all my specs
1.AMD ATHLON X2 245 2.9 ghz processor.
2.gigabyte S series m68ms2p which is am3 ready
3. 4gb ram
4.psu is (20+4pin)
5. 1366%768 display
previously I had biostar nvidia 9400gt 1 gb Gpu and it served okay, gta4 ,nfs most wanted(2012) were playable in lowest setting.
now it has gone kaput and I need a new gpu.
my choices are
1. ATI 5450 1 GB
2. ZOTAC 610 2GB
3.NVIDIA 210 1 GB
I know they are waste gpu, but I want to play in lowest setting which my 9400 gt was doing fine for me. please help me.
thanks
I also want to know whether 2 gb gpu will make a difference for me or 1 gb will do equal. .?
thanks pls help.
well this thread shouldn't be here at all imo. but well... you shouldn't spend your money on that low performance gpu's, you would spend less for a hd4650 than a 5450, and it's better. I still have that old thing in my college pc, and somehow even newer games, like Thief 2014, ACIV works on medium/high settings. and it only costed around $65 3 YEARS AGO!

search for Windows forum on Google, you will get more detailed help there. I'm not from the US either and the prices are also much higher here. but it doesn't matter as I said the 4650 is a year older card than the 5450, so both have similar prices. the latter one isn't suggested for modern gaming at all, it has passive cooling and much lower frequencies. check their prices in your area, hopefully you will buy a card for your needs, just make sure that it's 128bit bandwidth. but it's just my suggestion, for expert help search for a PC specialized forum.
