You could try logging in your Google account on another device and installing find my device(android) or the web version of it. If you have lucky you can find it. I hope you find it!

5 colors, 5 fonts....not sure if I can take this seriously.

So we have to find out your phone which is stolen?

The hell is this ?

Very sorry to hear this! Even I got my phone stolen some weeks ago. It was pickpocketed in crowd. I had all kind of docs, memories in that phone. I cried almost everyday for the first couple of week. Even imagining the moment I noticed my phone stolen gives me fearful goosebumps. Reading through your post makes me realize we are in the very same boat.
Well, following are the major actions I took after losing my phone in chronological order:
1. The night phone got stolen, went to cyber cafe to ask what things to do. They asked for phone receipt
2. The following day, went to police, did both eFIR and written FIR. You gotta ask them humbly and in cultural manner. Keep visiting them in a week or fortnight
3. Posted on socials about the incident
4. Went to ask for CCTV recording but they denied. Also, police said the thief won't be visible enough coz I was in crowd when theft happened
5. Bought new SIM of the phone number
6. Got IMEI blacklisted and on-track by police
7. Put flyers around the area
8. Became religious
9. Tried inacting the scenario at the same place in hope of catching thief but police took cautious measures after my stolen report so probably thief not gonna do that anymore in that locality
10. Asked family, friends, strangers, netizens about their losing-their-phone experience
You can try these.
If you're Indian, then we have a specialized website for stolen phone cases. Otherwise, you can internationally blacklist your IMEI through any trusted worldwide operating IMEI blocking website like this. I am not associated with this website in any manner.
Also, please inform any other potential action that you think can help both of us retrieve phone. I am open to DM. I expect an acknowledgment from you. I hope my post help you in any way possible.
To XDA moderators, I am very new to XDA forum, though I have been reading developer related posts from here since years. I have read the guidelines but still, if I have broken any rule in this post or it has potential of getting deleted/blocked, please inform me first. Love to its members! Sweet and mature vibes!!

I am new in this forum. I have some questions about this forum. These questions are shown below :

Cingular getting in on the Game and Shutting us Down

The Cingular forums are now shutting down discussion re the new ROMS ... nice ... just trying to keep us from helping each other out (you would think it would be to their benefit, so folks don't bug their non-existent customer service)
see here for all the gory details.
This is getting more and more ridiculus by the day
Hallllllo M$ and providers. when we buy a device we ALREDY get a licenced WM, what's your problem???????????????????????????????????????

the thread has been resurrected for the time being...no idea how long that will last though.
This is just like Cingular, I have been told that this update would be out since Dec. by Cingular sales and it never has. We cannot help it if Cingular is so slow on getting updated services out. If they would put more effort in service and less on what they are going to call them selfs maybe they could supply better service. I have 19 cingular accounts and may move all of them if they don't get there act together.
Steven -
Do what my wife did, she is part of the State of FL gov contract on Cingular and she has a fair bit of power in moving accounts so she basically said if you can't support your gear with updated ROMs maybe she would move accounts somewhere else.
I doubt they care but who knows...
so many dumb-ass flashed their phones w/o reading the instructions, bricked their phones and start to call Cingular/ATT for help/repair/replacement. Next thing we know, MS is trying to remove all ROMs, ATT removing thread about new ROMs....
That's y we should make this community go underground, ban the suckers who don't read, link ROMs to rapidshare or other similar sites instead of this site's FTP server.
It's sad to see we have to remove the ROMs but I wouldn't blame MS or ATT for asking XDA-developers to do so.
Oh, btw, if you guys care go sign the petition, show us some supports even if we dont get what we want.
peace.
It's the War on Common Sense. And since all of us are a minority here, ignorance and misinformation prevail.
The main reason Big Business does this is because the executives are a much older generation that is scared and terribly confused by the Internet. So to them, we're all looking to ruin their business by making their phones work in ways they didn't intend for them to be used. What they don't know is, our solutions are much better than the ones they provide (hence the void we're filling by being here, supporting, and working out their phones for free) and if they were to release even just half of the ROMs the XDA community cooked up, they'd have a much happier customer base.

Cingular/AT&T is pretty much the only carrier with even a _leaked_ rom... so how are you going to say that they're slow? They're actually ahead of the curve, in my opinion.
The 8525 came out in November. I'm pretty sure that there must have been some miscommunication if you recall someone in December told you the Rom would be out tomorrow (or any specific immediate timeframe). "Soon" is not necessarily "one month" or less. I think sometimes we hear and preceive what we WANT to be the truth based on what we actually _did_ hear. I mean, as far as I can tell, HTC just released the 3.3 rom to carriers a matter of weeks ago. Cingular has been working on things other carriers aren't doing, too (PTT, Cingular Video, etc.) So they're putting more into the rom than most of our European counterparts need to (with the exception of video calling... yet.)
I guess what I'm saying is that we, as enthusiasts, expect more than the average customer. And as for Cingular / AT&T, of course they don't want to be providing support for an unofficial and likely unfinished rom. Honestly, having inexperienced and impatient Cingular customers reading about this leaked rom and trying to put it on their devices prematurely would certainly cause a terrible amount of problems. Again... it's _leaked_ and _unofficial_, so they should not feel like they have to support it.
Just my 2/3 of a nickel.

I disagree. I believe the truth is if they released half the roms on here, they're customers WOULD be confused, scared, and lost because they have no idea what rom they should be running. They'd have no idea why something doesn't work perfectly on one rom and better on another. Or why one radio may or may not be better. Think about how many people on here aren't reading everything they need to and bricking or nearly bricking their devices. And these are the ones SEEKING the information. The average 8525 user on Cingular's network isn't quite as interested in this stuff as we are here.
Knowledge is power, but unstable power is chaos.
Think about it.
Xda-Developers is a great source for those seeking to know more about their devices than just its typical uses. But anyone who really wants the knowledge will seek it out and find it (just as we all did). Throwing an incomplete rom at the average lawyer who needs Microsoft Direct Push and not much more is likely to cause more problems than it's worth for AT&Tingular as well as for us (because we'll be the ones trying to clean up the mess).
I think I should sign off on this before I infuriate some of those out there who just want to vent their frustration. And we all know the company with the dollars is always a great target to do that.
Does't surprise me in the slightest.
I am sure many OEMs and phone companies are sick of people bricking their phones and claiming warranties (of course they never admit to using cooked ROMs or even trying to upgrade them - 'Just woke up one morning and it wouldn't boot up').
I enjoy this forum too but don't tell me it doesn't encourage people to do things they shouldn't, and are not willing to take responsiblity for.

I have to disagree with that statement... I wasnt aware that giving warnings to the users that flashing their phone could brick it and that they need to read and make sure they fully understand what they are doing before they do it was encouragement... I know that when i came to this board and saw the warnings about flashing cooked roms it freaked me out.. i was registered for several months before i ever made a post, spent countless hours reading all the threads to make sure i fully understood my device before i did anything to it.. its the people that dont read and brick their phone that want to come back and blame us for their mistake.. This is a developers board and quite frankly alot of us go out of the way of development to help people in need... we especially go above and beyond any kind of help that you would recieve from your provider
My 2c
I have to agree with shogunmark. I know I made very sure I read every last thread and wiki before I attempted anything as rash as upgrading a Radio stack. This was because of my fear of bricking the unit, because so many people warned it could. I was even willing to endure the mass "RTFM" and "RTFW" flaming if i wanted to make sure I understood everything correctly before risking my device.
I believe the largest part of this community are users that gather here in the spirit of sharing the knowledge about the device to encourage greater growth of the community- the more people, the more mods & hacks & cracks and experiences will become part of the knowledge base.
yet im still trying to figure out how "MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE" warnings are encouraging...
Come on guys!
Sure there are countless warinings but simply the enthusiasm and excitement amongst the experienced crew, when a new possibliity appears (GPS, WM6, AKU this, AKU that) causes less experience people to get caught up in it.
I'm not for one minute discouraging XDA developing, just TAKE RESPONSIBLILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE AND DON'T GO CRYING TO THE OEM OR TELCO FOR WARANTY. Pay for your mistake and buy another.
I have seen, on this forum people advising others to go back to their supplier with bricked devices and try to get a warranty. It is hard for the supplier to argue with someone who says their device 'Just stopped working', when infact they bricked it, and in the spirit of good customer relations they often replace it. Why wouldn't suppliers be negative toward forums like these when they are placed in this situation.
Sigh... I've been told that HTC's single greatest returned device is the Wizard followed closely by the Hermes. Reason: bricked.
We post the warnings, but plenty of people don't take the time to fully understand then brick their devices anyway (hermes is especially bad in this respect). Then they try to return them.
In many ways, this is the manufacturer fault b/c they are trying to thwart users who try to upgrade or change their devices. Hermes development feels like spy vs. spy sometimes as we crack something and then the next bootloader/radio bootloader comes out. Consequently pre sspl hermes flashing was damn near rocket science. Problems were rampant. Heck, I even saw one poster try to flash the original signed_nbh into the OS area with the 1.01MFG bootloader
They're all gonna try it. There's no minimum IQ required to be a member here.
Ideally, we need to find a way to bring any HTC device back to life from brick status. It's only corrupted memory after all. If the correct bytes are written, the software works. When I did SE phone hacking, there were such devices. Because of this, users with bricked phones could take them to their nearest SE phone center and they would re-flash and un-brick (for a price of course).
This ridiculous swapping of bricked devices is what needs to change. Posters need to take financial responsibility for phones they brick. HTC needs to make their hardware flashing system available to Operators at phone centers.
Unfortunately, this won't be the case. Instead, they'll go after us because they can see an ROI impact in terms of bricks. What they can't see is the intangible increase in sales that we stimulate or the intangible loss of future revenue that shutting us down represents.
Sign the petition. Get your friends to sign it. Get it posted on other forums. Get it into the news. Operators and M$ need to be able to see this intangible.
on the other hand with the hermes and returns... we just got to a point to where we could brick them less than a month ago... most of the returns before then was by manufacturer fault, i know this because i was one of them, i had a ton of bad blocks in the wrong spot....
its to bad we dont have an easy rom kitchen for these.. something that would make it damn near impossible for the person who cant read to brick their device.. i dont know.. im tired and going back to bad, my post isnt making much sense to me right now
but i do agree with you sleuth!
Wow... check out the attitude here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294365
Kinda proves my point.
Add a success story here - mainly because I am competent enough to read and ask the right questions when there was vague information.
I am not new to flashing/modding, but the Hermes definately takes it to a new level.
The difference with me, should I ever brick my device - I would just deal with it. I came here with the understanding that the tools available to us come with an increased risk should you not actually understand what you are doing. You need to be aware that you should own up to the possible mistakes and not try to send a bricked device back for warranty....
Two individuals who make this place so great - Pof and Sleuth. Pof has done such a great job with the wiki and his tools - all you need to do is take a few days to read about the device and the steps you need to make. Sleuth brings a different element (and his programs) to the forums and has the patience to point questions to the right areas of the wiki.
My advice - if you plan on unlocking/upgrading take at least a week and read the wiki. Make sure you have all the pieces needed to complete what you want to do. Sync your device and backup all your info - be prepared to hard reset and start from scratch - twice in some cases.
Set aside plenty of time that your phone will be down during this process.
This site is by far the best there is - it's a shame that people rush into things some times.

HTC should put JTAG out in its new models
Seriously, it's a big flaw that every official ROM image overwrites th bootloader, even with the same version. The whole firmware history teaches that the bootloader should not be touched by end user.
So, the solution is to make custom ROMs flashable by parts, w/o affecting the bootloader. This should prevent bricking... does not revive existing bricks though...
But your overall point is good: manufacturers get angry because of a lot of returns, and care shell be taken to calm them down.
on another note about the cingular boards... i got banned there was a thread about the lack of good moderation in the HTC board over there, i spoke my piece and got banned... it wasnt even bad, just offered some suggestions.. so much for contructive criticism and free speech..

How about this. Parents don't give your children cell phones. If they must have one for safety reasons, give them a free cell phone that only makes 911 calls.
I'm sorry, but I consider any parent who gives any child or teen a cell phone as a bad parent. There is absolutely no reason a child or teen needs a cell phone, even if they earned the money themselves. If I have a child one day, my child will need to be moved out of the home, paying their own rent, their own car insurance, their own bills, then they can get themselves a cell phone that makes more than just 911 calls.
You can also bet for sure I would know my child is visiting online forums and I would know what they are posting. Too many children and teens have free reign these days, they do what they want, when they want, without any consequences.
And NO, making a deal with your children that they get straight A's shouldn't be a reason to get them a phone either. You're child should do their best in school to succeed in life and to gain knowledge, to became cultured, open minded and to learn, not to have mommy and daddy buy them things. Since when did bargaining with children become ok?
BTW, I initially misread, it appears this child above took the phone without their parents permission.
Why would you use your moms phone in the first place?

Na still bad parenting, if you have to give your child a cell phone to know where they are at all hours of the night, means you are a bad parent. Hmmm let me give my child a cell phone, so I can call him or her 3 in the morning to find out why little Tommy isn't home yet. Ya that makes sense.

Actually I had an excellent upbringing. Never got into drugs, never been in trouble with the law, I have an impressive education, and I'm an ethical and moral person.
I pay over a grand every two months for my LADWP bill, and several hundred dollars for gas, plus several types of insurance, phobe bill, tv, etc. If I ever have a punk child that thinks living under my roof is free, then yes, they will be kicked out of my home, they will learn a lesson. Let him/her go into the real world and realize that even water from the faucet comes with a price tag.
BTW everyone in my family was raised the same way, and my family is extremely successful, with many doctors and attorneys.
Except for my uncle who should have NEVER had a child, because he does not know how to parent. My cousin who is currently 17 does what he wants when he wants, without his father saying anything to him. He was kicked out of high school for selling drugs and nearly killing another student who overdosed from drugs he sold. This little punk cousin of mine sleeps in until 3 pm and stays out all hours of the night. He has been living that life for about a year now.
Took me about a month but I got that little prick straightend out. Told him that I am notifying the authorities that he is under age and not attending school despite his fathers wishes, and yes I was very serious. With the permission of his father I had his cell phone canceled, his computer is gone, he is no longer allowed to stay out at nights. He is now enrolled in his local community college in a program designed for high school drop outs, I told him he has no other option but to enroll, no negotiating. I have communication with the coordinator of the program and I'm keeping tabs on him.
Please don't tell me what is good parenting and what is bad parenting. He was a disgrace to our family and I told it to his face. If you want to act like an adult then you will be spoken to that way, you will get your ass out of the house and pay your own bills, and if it means you need to learn a hard lesson or two, then so be it.
Any man and woman can make a baby, but not everyone knows how to parent.

Dude... no offense but you sound like a douche bag... please don't have kids. There are plenty of reasons for teenagers to have smart phones. I for one attend a lot of competitions and events for school clubs and teams. The ability to look up information in a bus, navigate through a city, and stay in touch with chaperons and other students is vital during such situations. For example, this summer I went to Nashville for the FBLA national conference to compete in Network Design. I used my phone to navigate around the city, stay in touch with chaperons and the students, as well as find vital information, such as where you can get food without being mugged. etc.
But in all honesty, the OP is an idiot. Not for stealing his mom's phone, but for stealing his mom's phone and screwing it up.... The vibrant is one of the hardest phones to get into an unusable state...

You still don't need one. I have another cousin who was on her speach and debate team at school, she also was on the swim team, and is actively involved with our church. She was also accepted to and started school at Stanford in the Fall. She did all of those extra-curricular activites without a cell phone. I guarantee you, if my aunt had been a bad parent and had allowed her to have a cell phone, and twitter and myspace and all that other bull, there is no way she would be at Stanford right now.
It's all in the parenting.

So, if you want the whole story of how my phone got broke, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5#post28416155
In short, I completely broke my Samsung Galaxy Ace plus the day after I took it out of the box. It's seemingly 100% bricked (literally no sign of life, no lights no screen no sound, nothing).
I phoned Samsung up a couple days later (after nobody replied to my emails) and I organised it to be repaired.
It's been 11 days since I sent it back.
I phoned on the 7th day to ask if it had even got there because there were no updates on my samsung product repair status page since the day I first phoned them up. I also asked if the address I was given was right (Just put on envelope "FREEPOST SAMAN REP", that was it) because it sounded invalid.
I gave them the IMEI and was told that it had reached them. I said thank you and goodbye.
Yesterday, my product repair status had finally updated to : Cancelled by ASC Non Defect (Working properly)
I rang up again.
I was on the phone for 10 minutes with this guy and he told me that they had no record of my phone arriving. He handed me on to his supervisor who I spoke to for a further 20 minutes.
She confirmed that it had not reached them yet or it had been improperly logged or it was lost in the mail.
I sent her a copy of my proof of postage through email in case it was the latter, so they could "organize something for me if it comes to the worst case scenario"
Knowing their reply rate to my emails, I doubt they'll even see it.
So, I sent off my broken phone to them like they told me to, and now they've lost it... or the address they gave me was indeed wrong like I originally expected, however it has not been sent to the return address after 10 days. I doubt the Post Office is at any fault here.
I understand how at the beginning of this mess I was at fault. I made my phone faulty through my own carelessness...
However, since then I feel like there's been an awful lot more Samsung carelessness. And it sounds like if they don't find my phone they won't even replace it, otherwise the woman over the phone wouldn't have been so ambiguous. The way she said it I expected nothing more than book voucher in return for all my trouble and their incompetence.
It's very troubling to think that my Β£166 may have only bought me just 1 day of pleasure and many weeks of distress.
Anyway, I'm hoping I can make the best out of a bad situation.
I have very little respect for these types of companies, and I have no problem in wrangling out a few pounds from them when they have wronged me. If this doesn't get resolved soon, I'm very tempted to go to Samsung UK directly and ask politely but firmly for a little compensation for all this crap. Maybe one of those Galaxy S3s.
Me and my Dad have been able to get similar compensations for bad service through a letter and a phone call before.
Maybe I can do something similar here.
Does anybody have any helpful advice?
Well......in short you do have the right to sue them.....
But then , you shouldn't have sent it through postage , but to the Service Centre
"I have to go. It's just....they really need me." - Sora
Perhaps you can sue them,If you have a written proof that samsung gave you wrong address..Sue those darned idiots mate.I will wish for your succesz
Ya...Sue them...Don't they even know to take care of a phone?
Is it me or Samsung really has problems with service, ok I understand, that in my country those are the sellers who do warranty repairs, but that makes Samsung look bad? Today I have called my sellers HQ, none answered, then I tried to skype, still no answer.
100% sue them...it clearly you have the right
Okay, I get the overwhelming impression that you all think I should sue them...
I have never sued anybody, neither have I tried. I imagine it's a little easier said than done
In the past though, I have found that the threat of legal action from similar situations gets results.
Shall I just write a letter to Samsung HQ in Surrey describing their problem with the threat of legal action if I don't get fully refunded and compensated?
Would it be so bad to ask for a Galaxy S III? Drafting the letter in my head, it seems a bit weedy if I tag along the sentence, "and in return for my troubles I'd like a Galaxy S III please, otherwise I will sue you!!!" It would just sound like an opportunist geek trying to get the phone that all his friends have.
However I can imagine they'd be more willing to send me a free and superior phone than to write me a cheque of x amount of Β£.
The only problem is, there's still the possibility that it might genuinely be lost in the mail through no fault of their own... seems very unlikely, but it's arguable.
Shall I wait a bit longer before I write a letter?
It's 12 days since I posted it. On the 15th day I should assume it has been lost in the mail and Samsung will "sort me out with something".
Further thoughts please.
Thanks for all the replies so far
You don't give a location, but I am guessing you are in UK. I was unable to follow the link to your original thread, but if you put a return address label on the package I would have thought that it would have been returned to you by now or it is at your local sorting/Post office.
Have you checked with them?
My suggestion would be to follow up your recent phone conversation with a letter to Samsung Customer Services in Gateshead and send a cc to the HQ in Surrey. Send both by recorded delivery, so that you have some kind of proof of delivery/receipt. In my experience, although not with Samsung, reason and facts can get better results than threats, you can keep the option of legal action if you get no satisfaction.
Give details of what has happened so far. (omitting the bit about how your phone was bricked! )
Try to give times and dates, what you discussed and, if possible, who you spoke to. Attach a copy of your proof of posting (but dont send original), copies of emails etc
Ask them what they are going to do now, tell them what you would like to see as the outcome of this situation. A phone and some kind of compensation for the inconvenience/phone calls/wasted time, I would guess? Give them a date by which you would like a reply, 14 or so days.
Best of luck.
That's just the kind of advice I was looking for.
Thanks Angewg, your help is very much appreciated

Since your in the UK (yay!) you can take them to a small claims court. Also check out the amazing Martin Lewis MoneySavingExpert website. It explains your rights as a consumer.

My objective is not to get a Samsung Galaxy S III per se, but my thought was that I deserve not just my phone back but a little compensation. And I feel like it might be a stretch to ask for straight up money. So what could I realistically ask for? A superior phone. S III was the first that came to mind, and I think I am right in thinking it's the best smart phone that Samsung are producing right now.
I'll write the letter today. Thanks again everybody

I think the Β£400+ price difference between the two models makes it a bit of a stretch!
You could try asking for
a replacement phone with either a higher specification or a more recent model bearing in mind the inconvenience all this has caused you.
The ball is then in their court.
It might be a stretch... but not as much as a stretch as you suggest. I've just checked and the price difference is actually about Β£270.
I could argue that the trouble this has caused is about Β£270... Maybe?
I'll be phoning up the call centre at around 2 PM, explaining all this crap once again (taking names this time), and once and for all asking what's happened and what they are willing to do to help me, because this phone has well and truly been lost IMO.
Yeah there in the wrong but,
Am I the only person the doesn't like the American sueing thing. I just think that people make mistakes. Never see the need to sue anyone.
I thought most people in Britain thought the same way.
Sent from my GALAXY Ace.
I'm pissed off. Here's why:
I've just posted an extremely detailed letter explaining everything, along with copies of emails, pictures, screenshots, etc.
It took ages to write and compile all of this together.
I showed it to my Dad (who is well educated on legal matters such as this) and he told me it was a brilliant letter.
I wrote it on Friday, but didn't want to post it before checking that it was okay with my Dad, so that meant I had to wait til Monday.
At the end of the letter I requested a superior replacement phone as recompense (Galaxy S III), but if they didn't resolve the matter or they didn't reply within 14 days I'd take legal action as they were in violation of my consumer rights.
After posting this letter, I was told by a family member to try phoning the customer service 1 more time.
So I did, and then I was passed around several times between different operators, but I was eventually told this:
My phone was in repair and I should have it back shortly. I think they said 7 days, which would make the entire process a total of 25 days.
I was given the repair centre's phone number so I can track the progress.
So, it actually looks like I will be receiving a phone back...
This doesn't actually please me. I've been under the assumption the last few days that I have a very solid case against Samsung.
I believe that on receiving my letter I may just get what I want.
Would a company like Samsung prefer I took them to a claims court? I doubt it. I think they would probably sort me out with what I wanted before it would get to that.
But now that my phone is apparently safe and sound on its way back soon, I doubt my letter will be taken very seriously.
If they don't look into it and just throw a phone my way willy nilly, then I'd be very surprised, and i don't really consider that a possibility.
Now all I've got to complain about is the massive repair time and the time I've wasted on phone calls, research, emails and one long-ass letter.
In my eyes I still deserve compensation for this, and I probably still could say that I will consider legal action if they don't compensate me in some way, but the lack of a phone sure made it a lot easier to argue my case.
I'll report back in a few days.
Imo, too stupid samsung solve this problem at the court. They can replace your unit than repair because unit defects, in 5 minutes at samsung store.
Just got a phone call this morning. I should have my phone back before the end of the week.
This sucks. I bet they're not going to acknowledge my letter and I'm just gonna have to let all this **** go.

Ask for compensation from them.
It's Monday, I haven't received a repaired phone, I haven't got a phone call, I haven't received a written reply.
Nothing.
I hate this.

Galaxy s4 emergency apn/gsm/cdma/ help !!!please consider!!!

Galaxy s4 *HELP NEEDED* Pre-apologies right now...
The problem I'm having has already been posted all over the web, including here. I just wanted to apologize ahead of time, I'm just in a sudden, legitimate, panic. I don't have a lot of money. I work hard for everything I have, along with what my daughter, fiance, and 7 months will make daughter and ___.
I can't lose the job I have. But I will if I don't call in by 6:00 to let them know I have a 104.2 degree body temperature.
Begging for a quick step by step or link, please. I'll owe you 2. Again, please.
Have spent 1 hour straight of focused browsing only to find what is probably the answer. I have no experience with hardware repair, but I follow directions, in my opinion, very well. Just lack the actual know-how or experience.
Other recommendations are worthy for double pay back. I am offering a lifetime of payment in gratitude. Sorry I can't offer much right now, but the emergency is I got my Samsung Galaxy s4 JFLTEUSC activated through USC yesterday (payday I decided to splurge on spoiling myself, much needed) I wake up this morning to not being able to call, text, 4G LTE data, no APNs, no SIM card detection no phone number or MIN number set. I paid all the extra money I had to activate it.
I'm running JDCteam's Optimized CM12.1 no add-ons besides GAPPS pico
Baseband is: R970TYUFNK1
Build number is: LMY4but
Any other info is available directly after asked, I promise not to waste your time.
I'm begging one more time, please bring step-by-step guide/tutorial or link to something that's been solved. Laziness is something I usually don't admire, but I have no choice, every joint and muscle in my body is sore beyond belief, I'm not trying to be a leech but I have never been more desperate.
Please.
Thank You sincerely.

PC Hardware Coverage for XDA in 2020

Hello everyone!
I didn't know where to really put this and the forums are still one of the places I feel most comfortable on the web.
In 2019 we did a far better job of covering more new PC hardware components than the previous year. Some of our reviews took longer than expected, but I stand behind my findings. Late in the year some personal matters required that I put the brakes on releasing new reviews. We ended the year with more reviews than before, but we still start 2020 with several reviews in the pipeline that were not completed last year.
In the past year we've taken your feedback. We understand not everyone is happy when a review doesn't come out the same day as the product releases. For those outlets this is their primary coverage. We work with what we can, and I'm very thankful that XDA continues to support the coverage as something beyond its primary coverage of Android and Android devices.. I do believe that our tests and reviews are both useful and necessary, no matter when they go live. Our continued focus on Linux serves an audience that even now still has very few in-depth reviews globally. Investigating situations that may be missed not only provides answers for questions that may be unanswered, but as I found out recently those lessons can still give answers years later.
I'm also very thankful for the XDA leadership and Portal team in their support and flexibility to continue this coverage while I am still dealing with some very serious personal matters. I wish at some point that I could explain just what is going on and how debilitating that can be at times. I suspect those who have gone through similar situations would understand. The only thing I can say is to please always take care of those around you. This goes beyond friends and family - think of the people you work or go to school with. How about the person you run into every morning? Everyone has their own life and not everyone may be having an easy go at it. Sometimes the hardest thing for us is to reach out for help. For others, that hardest thing may be offering help to others.
Try to help others when you can. When you need help, ask. You may find support in places you never expected. If you think something is going on that they may not be able to talk about, at least reach out and see if they may need help. Offer to be an ear or to even listen. They may not be able to tell you what's going on. They may not be able to take that assistance. But sometimes just knowing that there is support may do more than you see at the time. Donate not just to the big causes, think about how you can help others in your community. We're all trying to make our way through that journey that we call life.
I expect to resume writing again soon. Reviews where the tests have already been completed will be first up. Then we'll start with the reviews of components already here and ready to go into the test bench. I'm also looking into the possibility of resuming videos - something I stopped when I relocated in 2018. Most of the "behind the scenes" changes required for me to resume that was addressed last year. My biggest concern is honestly creating enough of a finished space so I don't have to set up and tear down between videos.
We've got even more planned for 2020 than we did the year before, so hope you'll stick around and continue reading our foray into something more than Android on XDA!
I'll review any hardware you ship to me!!!
I'll write a meticulous professional article informed by 30 years of reading hardware websites / BBSes.
