Okay so hi guys, I wanted to flash the new baseband yesterday. I know how to do it, and I've done it before. The weird thing is, when I plugged in my phone to my PC, it says that the device is not recognised. So I tried it on my Mac ( bootcamped). still doesn't work. So i found some drivers from this forum and tried to install. The Bluetooth modem installed, but not the united drivers. Anyone have any ideas?
Anyhelp will be much appreciated.

Oh yea, I'm on mik's 6.6.1 with fk kernel 2 Oct. Now I'm on Andy's rom though. ( lol) might try again later to see if it works...

Oh! If I had plugged in my phone while installing, do I have to reinstall?

not sure if it would make a difference, but if your is still not being recognized, i would reinstall
Have just reinstalled... Nothing though. Still unrecognised. It used to work though...
Is there a section for exhibit 2 4g. When i plug my usb to labtop i get a mtp driver error makes it impossible to root. Please help. My vibrant connects fine.

do you have the required drivers installed?...i don't have that phone..but just a suggestion..
more info please
Im guessing i do not have the right drivers. I tried samsung website could not find them. This Sgh-t679 did not come with the drivers in the box. I have windows 7 labtop. Keep in mind on my vibrant my labtop automaticly installed them. It errors out every time with mtp error. I hate not being able to root.

I got no luck with the drivers part but here is a thread where you can download a zip to root it. Hate to send someone outside of XDA but Root is Root.
http://androidforums.com/exhibit-4g...8-anyone-root-samsung-exhibit-ii-4g-t679.html
Just reading through that thread though it seems that the Superuser.apk might be out of date. If so you can get the Update Fixer from the market. This actually worked for me when I updated Chainsdd SU.
Or you can go here too AndroidSU.com
Edit: On post 19 is says this, "but you can just download the drivers for the Exhibit (T659) and it will work with the Exhibit II as well"

Try looking here
http://androidforums.com/samsung-exhibit-4g/
They might be able to help sense there is no thread here for that phone.
Thank you for your help but a zip is pointless if my labtop does not
Recognize my device. I need to get the driver first. And that has been my problem. I will keep looking :-(

You can download the zip over 3g/wifi and root it that way without ever plugging into your computer. At least then you will be rooted and problem#1 willbe solved.

How would i flash a zip with out cwm or being rooted? Googling drivers is the easiest way to get virus and spyware. I tried your links though i refuse to install a program that does a driver scan then tells me i have 22 errors and i have to pay to fix them. None the less thanks for helping.

You can flash an Update.zip through stock Recovery. If face I think it is call "Install Update.zip".
What you install or not is up to you. You asked and me and Big Dog both answered with links. If you don't want to use them that is fine. On your own. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else causeI am alwys willing to help.
How do i get to stock recovery? On my vibrant i had to flash bootloaders from odin. Which requires usb to labtop lol.

I am trying to root my friends s3. Seems to have worked but instead of having the normal options in recovery mode, its missing "install from sdcard"
I haven't done anything different to how I went about rooting my s3.
Anyone?

Has you GS3's friend a SD card plug in at least ? Using CWM or CWM Touch ?
Else reflash CWM via Odin could be a solution.
When we first initially flash via odin, no. Tried to reflash but no luck.

hmm... seems like you messed up with the actual root process somewhere, try ref lashing again, but remember to follow the steps TO THE LETTER, otherwise i can't seem to know of any other fix.

Flash the unroot package that Chainfire provide to cancel all you have done so far in the rooting process then try once more from the beginning.
I tried to update to the stock JB rom using LGNPST. I followed the instructions to a T. However, I kept getting "ERROR: Fail changing to Diag Mode". It never progressed past 0%. Any help would be appreciated.

Never mind. It looked like it was caused by the USB 3.0 port. My laptop has 2 USB3.0 ports and one USB2.0 port. I tried both of the USB3.0 ports and it failed. I didn't try the USB2.0 one since it was occupied by my mouse. But after trying the USB2.0 port, everything went smoothly and now I have the 4.1.2.
I have lgnpst 1.1.3 ...it wont recognize my phone at all. I used freegee to unlock my bootloader so I'm rooted also. My HUGE problem is I can't flash any 4.2 ROMS because I'm not recognized on lgnpst and I cant finish installing the at&t update because my bootloader is unlocked...I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm stuck with the older ROMS!! =/

That version will not work. You need 2.2.3? I believe

I have the same issue so I wonder what is to be done. I have 2.2.3 lgnpst and it shows unknown item on com 3. I select the dll and tinybin. When I click start it does nothing phone stays in stand by in lgnpst. And stuck at 0% and no further. I have installed drivers for usb twice. And wiped lgnpst 1.3 and fresh install 2.2.3 with v5.0 of the other two files. Still same.
And your in download mode on phone? And unknown on com3 worked on mine. Just made sure dll was lge970, and bin was selected.

Make sure the phone is connected to a USB2.0 port, not USB3.0.
Edit: I tried again on my laptop now and it says it cannot load module in cmd. Missing something? ( I have tried to see if I needed to register the dll but it won't even work. Any insight )
files installed:
lgnpst 2.2.3
models 5.0
other one 5.0
usb drivers
I don't have any usb 3.0 on my developer/lab laptop

So I just flashed slim and the kb5 modem and now the imei is dead and my sim can't be recognized.
I actually didn't know Samsung were infamous for imei issues so I didn't research this beforehand. Anyway I have an efs folder, but when I copied that folder to / and fixed permissions nothing changed.

Remind me to never try Sammy again, now I can't get into recovery and phone is not booting. Only DL mode is accessible.

If you can get to Download mode, your device should be fine.
Restore back to stock (your IMEI should be back), and then continue from there.
The Heimdall one-click did not work for me. It complained about partitions.
The "All in One" toolbox (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509) contains a PIT and TAR file. This is the partition layout (I think) and stock OS that can be restored via Odin.

Thanks, but I managed to restore it with Odin later that day. Now I have IMEI in CM10.1, sadly I cannot get the MIC to work(so people can't hear me in calls). I googled this issue and have tried turning on/off mute to no avail.
Also I only have this issue when flashing Slim+cyan core(not sure which is the issue, i'm too scared to try either).

Do a clean wipe and reinstall your ROM and it should fix the mic issue if it doesn't then try another ROM. If that doesn't fix it reflash stock in Odin and see if it works on stock if it doesn't that its a he isue

Thanks but I solved the IMEI issues a few times(certain rom+kernel combos break it). As for the MIC it is actually doa, which the seller failed to mention to me.
