:roll: my Qtek (1010, latest Ce and Radio versions), stuck in a middle of ROM update,
and now he's dead!.
nothing helped... i tried to soft / hard reset it, nothing.
The worst part is that I can't even enter bootloader mode (soft reset while holding the power).
That means I can kiss him good-bye, right? :?
There's no way to flash "dead" qtek, without bootloader mode? :?:

Hey Guys.
Have a little problem with my xda. I want to upgrade to WM2003 via SD-Card-Method, but i can not enter the bootloader.
I hold the power button and make a soft reset, but the bootloader screen did not appears. It make only a normal soft reset....
Tried also after a hard reset, but that didn´t change anything.
Last Rom-Update worked via Bootloader.
I user a cooked kitchen rom 3.17.03 with RSU 4.21
Any one got infos how i can "repair" it?

If I'm not mistaken XDAtools can be used to reload your boot loader.

Tried to flash the Rom via Programm A, but i get an Error.
Now the device is out of order. No function any more.
Neither a soft nor a hard reset returns the function.
Screen is "black" and nothing happens.
I wll call my insurance tommorrow to get a new device...

I try to put AP DUAL 3.0 ROM on my AMEO with sim unlock.
Probably was CID locked, and so it was impossible to install this ROM, but here what happened....
When The Firmware Flasher rebooted the device at the first step when i pressed UPGRADE BUTTON my ATHENA died... no power at all..
I think at this passage the flashing process was not started at all, infact i did not see the tre coloured bar of the bootloader... IT DIED !!
It is impossible to power on, i try to plug the AC and no orange light...i i pull of the battery and insert the AC plug the red light is OK.....
What happens ?
Is there a way to recover my NEW DEVICE ?

So did it start step 1 at all? Did u try a soft reset on the device to see if that would boot it back up?
Try running the unlocker anyway. You might be surprised

See if you can get to the bootloader, what happened was that you used an older version and I'm assuming you got the x7501 which almost always is bricked when used with the older version of oli unlocker. I don't understand why they can't remove or re-label that old package, what's wrong with doing it???? Maybe less people would brick their device.

I did not use oil unlocker... i only try to flash with the ROM i say before, and my AMEO stops working before starting the flashing process.
Now my athena is died: without the battery i try to connect to ac cable and the red led lights up....when i insert the battery the red led lights off, i cannot enter into the bootloader because the ameo doesnt power on at all...
Please is there any solutions to this problem ??? It is very strange that the AMEO stop working ....before starting the flash process... infact when i push the UPGRADE button of the ROM flashing program, the ameo rebooted and died before starting the flashing process > i.e before the three coloured bars of the bootloader starts...

Sorry, but do i use the unlocker even if the PDA is died ? If i plug into the PC USB no hardware is found ? Does the unlocker work ? And please : Where can i download the last version of the unlocker ( probably a stupid question...)

Ok but the unlocker told me : Athena must be connceted with activesync...mine is died..only red led without battery or no led with battery inserted.....so i do not understand how the unlocker could work..... What unlocker do i download ???
In fact.. i try a nothing... the unlocker works only if the athena is recognized...so only if it is power up....but mine is dead only red led without battery....no led with battery instead...
It seems impossible that a simple flashing destroy the unit !!!!
Can you enter bootloader? Hold camera button while resetting
Or hard reset? Volume down wile poking the reset hole.

OK I contact HTC the told me to send the PDA to T-MOBILE CENTER to be repaired in warranty....but i leave in italy so i cannot send the pda in england...
i sell it on ebay is someone is interested...serach HTC ATHENA XT7500 AMEO T-MOBILE on ebay.co.uk.....
OK - I just had the same problem. No life whatsoever.
Simple solution:
Remove battery.
Wait one hour.
Replace battery.
All is fine
No need to send back to HTC

Hi, I have a problem.....this morning I have turned on my Tytn...and start in bl mode!
I have tried to reflash ,my device, process ok, but after "align screen" phone reboot and....only bl mode!
If I reset...start only bl mode!

I'm assuming , of course, you have Hard SPLed your hermes.
Try checking for bad blocks with MTTY... If there is no problem, do a Hard reset. Hold down Left & Right Soft Keys and hit reset....This is like reflashing BUT it puts the same os on (doesn't need Hard SPL).
If you are trying out WM6.1 try flashing a stock rom first, then flash up to 6.1.

Tried to flash ROM using safe SSPL with RUUwrapper.
At completion of flash both my mobiler & win mobile device centre disconected or lost connection with device, after soft reset will only load up to second HTC screen. How can I recover from this brick? device manager recognises HTC usb sync when plugged in but I can't connect to re flash rom.

EDIT i think you got a dopod so the dopod ROM is what you want from my 4shared or wiki!!
from the wiki or from my 4shared, and flash it while it is in boot loader mode.
then you need to flash hard spl one of the first stickys on this thread that you have just posted to.
Then flash your desired rom.

Got it unbricked & working, thanks to you I have a lot of trouble reading as I am leagally blind but get by with T2V & magnifiers most times. however searching threads is a lot harder than for most.

loulian, to make it easier to recover from bricks, It would be best if you flashed Hard SPL V7 from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
It won't guarantee a flawless flash but will help if something goes wrong by giving you a GOOD chance of recovery.
You can then use the sd card method and make life easier by not having to worry about pc crashes, cables being pulled, blackouts or those annoying "sync" errros.

Also if you have trouble setting up your Hermes after a flash/hard reset because of the alignment points being hard to see, It would be a good idea to download this -

It will, after you save the settings, allow you to use your PC to set up the Alignment point if you need to Hard Reset or flash your phone making it load the os to the today screen.

Sorry to ask a stupid question. I have the same problem, but when i try to flush it from a TriColor mode i get a communication error, it complains about activesynch not connected. BTY mine is cingular 8525 so i am trying to use one of the cingular roms.

Yesterday I bricked HD2 trying to install this htc.com/europe/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=839&news_id=485.
Its a TMOBILE-US and I installed hard spl on it as well as a custom rom.
The device wouldn't go to bootloader mode (vol down + restart) it will not start, will not charge, nothing.
I also tried hard resetting with no success.
I did some reading, but everything I found required having access to bootloader mode.
Can I unbrick from this situation? is there some way to flash from the SD WITHOUT having access to bootloader mode.
Please help me rescue my 2 months old baby!

The link you posted i couldnt get to work, however i notice it has europe in it,(plus there are NO tmous compatible roms on eth htc website) meaning a rom for a regular leo, meaning a radio with ..51.. in the version, meaning dead tmous hd2.
Warranty return it, dont mention flashing.
Ouch. I thought HSPL would save me.
Anyway, warranty is currently out of the question since I don't live in the US.
