I got an O2 XDA german and flashed t-mobile 1.6 rom today. The process took about 30 min, everything looked fine. The tool told me to remove it from the cradle and hard reset the device. I did...
now it is dead. what to do?
I read abaout flashing "the bootloader way..." does this apply for xda2, too?

hello I´ve recover my m3100 from a dead brick (after used of universal sim lock) to full working phone
Her is my way
1. I´ve first try flashing a windows mobil 5 rom from my qtek 2020 on the m3100 for 2-3 times
2. then I´ve flas it with the new rom from Cingular ther are using bootloader 1,06..... and IT COME BACK ALIVE....
and if you have a HTC HERMES Then you just find a rom with you phons cid her

1) About the Qtek2020 flashing:
- Did the Himalaya flashing process did anything on the hermes?
- Where did the Himalaya flashing process stopped?
- What did you see on the Hermes screen?
- What error did you see on the Himalaya upgrade utility?
- Which rom did you exactly use? (post the ftp link of it please)
2) About your M3100
- Which CID does your hermes have? If it's a M3100 from UK, i guess it is ORANG001, right?
- Which ROM, radio rom and bootloader version did you have on your device when you fixed the problem?
If there's anything else I am missing and you think can be useful, please post it too...

I do not know what the flash didt to my hermes but it seems on usb monitor like it slowly after trying to flash the old 2020 rom 2-3 times went further and further in to the program. the screen turn silver and read USB like on the 2020. Every time it just stop (frozz).
Then I just try the new cirguler rom.
yes my m3100 is a orange001 cid -bootloader 1,04
I don´t know what the original rom was I think it was on off the first orange releast I got it 20/7-2006
(Do you whant me to upload the zip file containing my windows 5 mobile ?)
P.S. now my problem is that I can´t unlock the phone because imei-unlock do not suport bootload 1,06

It's ok, it was original rom from M3100... no problem, no need to upload anything.
If you have dead Hermes try to flash with Hermes_1.18.416.1_1.18.416.101_1.14.00.10_WWE_Ship.exe For me - it`s work.Regards

when i put in 3 color and i see:

Upgraded to 1.16 radio - (Tmobile UK ROM)
This kept 'hanging' so upgraded to 1.20 - this failed
Left with NO GSM - followed steps as requested set pass etc.
Still wouldn't upgrade
Tried to put latest ROM on (South african?) this FAILED but installed boot load 1.09 - argh!
BOUGHT (£20) the imei-check to downgrade - this WONT WORK - keep failing!!
Please help - stuck now - phone boots - but has NO GSM all the time...

please attach a usb monitor capture of a full rom upgrade until it fails. Probably will be "cid not allow (255)", but just to make sure.
No T-MOB001 rom exists yet

I don't know, never had one of those with "NO GSM" error on my hands.
Probably as radio is screwed CID is corrupted and you'll not be able to flash a ROM even with your original CID. I think for you the best would be to send it to service centre.
Yeh, thought it may be stuffed! FUnny thing is, when I do a hard reset, it doesn't have the NO GSM, it reports 1.16.0.0, it's as if the T-Mobile customs reset it all. Is there any way of stopping the customs?
Regardless, I have had the phone < a month so I'm ringing customer services to see what they can do - maybe not admit I've tried to upgrade it just yet!!!

I guess by "customs" you mean the Extended Rom, if yes, just do a soft reset before it installs (3 seconds). But I don't think it would do any difference...
Ok- update to problem,
Managed to downgrade from 1.09 to 1.04 of bootloader usining IMEI-CHECK.
Did HARD RESET and plugged in hermes when "press screen to continue" came up (just booted) linked to ACTIVESYNC then ran the software IMEI-CHECK sent me, this connected to hermes and asked for .unl file from imei-check. This 'downgraded' to 1.04 of bootloader.
Then managed to install a 1.13 radio rom - hermes still kept hanging -but I could use phone a little (managed to make 2 calls before a lock up). I was going to re-install another full rom upgrade - I think this may have sorted it, but by this time I had rung T-Mobile support in UK and they agreed to replace unit (I pretended it had gone wrong 'all on its own' hope Karma doesn't catch up with me!)
I THINK I would have managed to sort this using the solution from IMEI-CHECK and this forum by reapplying another full ROM upgrade. So thanks to everyone for their help! Hope this is of some use to someone!
Hello to everyone. I am newb here. I need a great men to help fix my phone. I got a Cingular 8125 G4 CID-locked but sim-unlocked device. Prior to upgrading, it finely works in a Cingular Official ROM and WM5. Now I decide to put some more interesting rom - a AKU 2.3 rom (if i am not mistaken this is a Wizard Love Rom). It was upgraded successfully. Then I flashed another rom which I am not familiar with the content. Unfortunately didn't go right this time. Now I am stuck with RGB screen. I even use shelltool in RGB screen (even knowing not to work in this kind of mode). In the middle of the process, the device turns off and shelltool hang, never show progress. I pull out the usb cable from the device. Then when I turn on the unit it gives me the RGB screen showing IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 with no splash screen, OS and GSM. I tried flashing different rom which I know is safe for G4 CID-locked device but no luck at all. I can get through 96% and the device turns off automatically and return to blinking RGB screen with on and off usb connection. Did I bricked my device? Please help revive my Wizard 100. Thank you in advance.
Nopes ! your phone is not bricked,as long as it gets into Bootloaders (RGB screen) its safe.
Download official cingular stock rom and flash in Bootloaders to recover or flash wizard_love rom.After recovering,don't use shelltool,its risky and old method,now a much better method is available.Either upgrade through 'SoftSPL or HardSPL'.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I did all that, download the cingular official rom from the link I got from xda forum and wizard love rom and flashed it but no luck at all. It gives me the same problem. When doing the upgrading the phone restart at 96% and reboot itself showing different error every upgrading attempt. What I only got in bootloader screen is the IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 no OS and GSM (Radio Rom). Maybe I got a corrupted file in my phone. Or just my battery. I tried wall charging but no good. Should I buy a new one or try my luck again. BTW, the error message appeared during upgrading are 274, 302 and 260. The first two seems to be serious matter. Please help me.
Probably,the battery is the culprit here,if its not fully charged or not having enough juice,it won't complete the flash,there are many comm errors due to weak battery,try to get it charged and then try.
How many hours just to have a fully charge battery using wallcharging?
Or maybe my battery needs to be replace. FYI it's 1 yr and 8 mos old now.
My Wizard was revived this time. The problem was the dead battery. I bought a new one and everthing goes fine when I flash the Official Cingualr Rom. Thanks to zabardast_1 and the gurus here in the forum.

When I up rom, I thought it's ok. But when the process bar completed at 100%, the install Wizard stopped. I had waiting for .... more than 1 hour but..... Its still "doin' nothing".

You can usually recover from a bad flash by doing a hard reset. At the very least, you should be able to get it back to bootloader mode.
If hard reset works, great. Just remember to charge your battery fully before flashing again. If hard reset at least gets you to the bootloader screen (tricolor, shows IPL/SPL, and when USB is attached, shows that), turn the phone OFF, charge the battery fully (preferably on an AC charger), and then try to flash it.
If none of these work, I have to ask you some potentially embarrassing questions, like: Did you use HardSPL or SoftSPL? Are you abso-friggin-lutely sure you have a G4? What ROM are you trying to load (and does it have IPL/SPL included)? What condition is the battery in? Have you ever had problems with the USB connector? Did you try flashing via bluetooth, Wifi, or some other method that has been strongly recommended against?
One last check: Wizards are also known as: Also known as Qtek 9100 / I-mate K-JAM / MDA Vario / O2 XDA Mini S / SPV M3000 / Cingular 8125 / T-Mobile MDA / Dopod 838 / VPA compact II

Open your battery compartment, and tell us what the model number is...it'll be under the battery, right above the FCC ID number and the SKU symbol. For example, mine is WIZA100.
Three days ago, I would flsh my t-mobile mda vario II with wm 6.5 fraom tai. I thaught, the flash was well, but when I made a hard-reset, the mda stopped during booting. I can see the t-mobile start-scree and then the windows mobile-screen, then boot stopped.
I can't get contact with active sync, I can't flash with RuuWrapper. I always got the Error 200.
When I want to flash from SD-Card, I saw at first the 4 colour screen then a grey screen with loading und the the numbers 00068002, after this the four-colour-screen shows

Unless you have the original SHIPPED STOCK ROM you won't be able to fix this in a hurry. Why don't people READ anymore, its not like there aren't warnings written EVERYWHERE on this site about Hard SPLing your Hermes...
Hope you can borrow a GPS or you'll need to purchase one as I don't see this getting fixed before Friday.

But how can I get an original shipped stock rom. I've talking with htc and t-mobile. both of them have any ROM for Hermes.
Is there anyone who can help with an original rom?
