hello every body
i was using gene from past 1 year i successfully upgraded by w.m5 rom to W.M 6.1 rom by lomlom(touch flo) for the 1st time than after i again upgraded it with W.M 6.5 rom by sumit's rom successfully but i was not satisfied with the sumits rom so i flased rom and tried to install w.m 6.1 by lom lom again...so again i started to install that, after running gene unbricker my screen is turned into 3-colour boot screen then in next step mtty step was also successful and the w.m6.1 was setuped successfully
but my problem was, when i restart my device im unable to start the mobile directly when i restart only a RED LED was blincking single time i tried to install again but it is not possible
please help out of this..........
Remove battery and press power button sometimes, then put back battery and try to power on your gene. Then try to enter in bootloader mode to flash another rom.
PS. I don't know if I understand well, but before you flash lomlom's rom again you run mtty to unlock your device again? You only need to unlock one time. it's not necessary to do this every time you flash a rom.

For All You Retards Who Can't/Won't Read The Wikki Heres How To Flash Just The OS File And The Ext Rom.
First Of All Your Device Must Be SuperCID To Do This Otherwise It Just Won't Work. I'm Assuming You All Know How To Do That So Theres No Need To Explain.
First Of All You Need To Get This File And Extract It On Your PC.

Now You Then Need To Follow These Instructions. (WHEN USING MTTY YOU HAVE TO TYPE ALL OF THE COMMAND DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THEM AS IT DOESN'T WORK)
1.Put hermes in bootloader mode (side ok + power button + softreset)
2.Connect Hermes to computer using USB cable.
3.Open mtty.exe, select "USB" from the dialog box, then hit Ok.
4.Hit enter twice and you'll see the "USB>" prompt.
5.Then type these commands: (note the use of 'lnb*s*')
USB>task 32

6.Device will reboot after this, with bootloader 1.01-MFG on it.
Next Download The AKU 3.3 Update Of Your Choice From The FTP.

I did it this way to save time and had no issues.
It saves the multiple reboots since after this you need to install HTCtweak to get the extrom back so you can put the files you need it and then reboot etc etc...... so I saved myself a good 45 sec to a minute

y get through all this trouble.. just upgrade the whole thing.
i upgraded to latest rom aku 3.3 WITHOUT doing all this. i have bootloader 1.04
Then you might never be able to do individual Radio ROM upgrades ever again because most of the AKU3.3 updates come with Radio ROMs that have HTCBOOT 1008 which doesn't allow individual Radio ROM Upgrades.

Which RUU did you flash? If its the one that's the TEST or the Swedish one, you're outta luck for the Radio Bootloader...
If you flash the whole thing you should be able to go to the official Cingular Rom right? Guess you still need to CID first?

If it is SuperCID already he can Flash an entire previous ROM to get the old HTCBOOT 1007. Still better to do it manually so you can get the Best AKU/ROM/Radio and BL combo since each BEST one comes from somewhere different.
BTW to OP this is great post and hopefully will stop some pointless threads.
Thanks... I got Stuck... But I was going to change back to 1.04 and was going to give up... But i noticed in the SPL-1.01MFG_Pack folder there were *.nb files for 1.01 and 1.04... So for one last hurrah I stuck the 06_OS.nb file in there and tried again... To my suprise it worked...

I've been flashing my device for about 30 minutes now... and it's stuck at this point... There's no progress bar... no indication that it's doing anything.... Did I brick my phone?

Hey people, i understand the frustration of people asking the same thing over again but ive had a few people asking me about this aswell IRL,
Having got settled with the ROM/Ext ROM/Radio etc... that are on my Hermes would adding the AKU3.3 update be advisable right now??
Also if i/we go ahead with this update will it require a full wipe of the device again (ie same as when a new ROM is put on)??
P.S: What are the benefits?
My question is that I see that the only 3.3 options are Swedish and Russian, and I speak English. What's the word on this?

If you are willing to upgrade just the ROM itself, I think it's worth it. This new 2.05 ROM has AKU 3.3 and it's very fast compared to any other ones. I'm currently running Swedish 2.05 ROM and patched it to English. Soon, I'll be flashing it to English 2.05. Full ROM upgrade (by double clicking the .exe file) is not recommended.

1- I used the cert.cab. I think this is application unlocking
2- yes I did by using SPV-Services
3- I don't know, but I used PatchedRuu.exe (I think this is that)
4- yes I write them myself
I'll try in a few minutes and post the log if it doesn't work.

I think I know where the problem is:
I can't get into the bootloader correctly.
When the phone asks me if I want a IU (0) and I press the Zero-Button on the phone, nothing happens.
What to do now?

Above RUU will kill your Hurricane because it for Typhoon.
BTW: I had "CMD55 failed" error when using bad USB-cable... trying another cable made it disappear.

bro i pressed camea buton...and did that process 10 times
i have read and i know it sud be used from the phone
however bro i think u didnt read my post carefully it says i cannot use my phone as it comes to bootloader mode as soon as i put the battery...
hence i tried everything....

my dear bro......didnt i say i cannot operate my mobile..... this was a try by operating from sd card....
i used the orekfov's methos in which u can try from sd card... so just thought of using this also by that method as i cant operate the mobile...
however.... i will try this method u mentioned...

Your phone's onbl has gone corrupt due to improper usage of gene_hspl.exe. You will have to give it to service center. There is nothing you can do from home now. Dont fear, give it to them, they can resolve it in minutes, or a few days maybe, depending on how busy they are.
While giving it to the service center, do not tell them that you did all these experiments and all. Just tell them that it is not working. The first test they will do is loading the original ROM and testing. And if you are lucky enough, they may even return it the very next day.

Bro.. can u give me a suggestion on how u.. conclude that onbl is corrupt...
bcoz this onbl status was there when i got this mobile for repair...
also plz tell me how did i use it an improper way so that i dont use it again like that....

The onbl number should never change during the SPL patching process. If it changes, it leaves no choice in our hand other than giving the device back to service center or using the JTAG method, which i wont recommend unless you are a hardcore enthusiast with an inclination towards electronics engineering as it requires opening up your motherboard and using electronics related tools to reflash it.
The right way to do it is fully described in my guide. Follow it step by step, giving deep thought to every word that i say. You wont go wrong with that.

All the time error 262. tried several rom's - error 262 (stops at 89%, 98%). tired official rom - same.(stop at 73%). Tired flash with sd card-same

Many times I happened to cook ROM that do not work (especially with the 6.5 in Italian) but is not a problem!
probably yuor Hrdspl is not ok, try to flash it again and then flash the official rom

Don't you need an SPL Jump running to upgrade the SPL? But, if you can't get into an OS you can't run the jump exe.
You need to find a really old ROM hat only requires the HardSPL you have then flash that. Or try an official one? Or have you already tried that

I tried flashing with many other roms but it stops at 2% saying error 270 (image file is corrupted)
phone goes on bootloader with pressing on/key or by attaching with usb without camera key pressed and search for sd card then with tricolor screen which shows

if this is ur SPL : SPL 1.28.0000
u have not done hspl without this u cant flash any roms
u can try connecting the usb cable wile in the tricolor and try flashing a new official htc rom for ur phone if it does not work sorry u need to take it to service

Hi I too have the exact same problem
Hi my spl too is 1.28.0000 and I tried unlocking by both methods and upgrading by sd card but to no avail any suggestions ? PS I have flashed many custom roms before and know how to do this and have read all the stickys there are.

Do u mean u have flashed Custom Roms for Gene before ???
Yes I have flashed custom Roms
Yes I have the gene 4 1.5 years and it came with wm5 and I upgraded it to wm6 and it was unlocked by oilpro but the last rom I flashed it with changed the spl to 1.28.0000 and now I am stuck.
You must have flashed an original rom with SPL \ IPL. So you brick your gene.
