I have been upgrading to my 2.06.00WWE to 1.60a wm2k5 But when i connected and run bootloader mode and trying to run HimaUpgradeUt.exe or himaupgradeut_noID.exe was crashing or bootloader mode writings was dissappear so It says "101 communication error" so I put the HimaClearJumpCode.exe and run HimaUpgradeUt without bootloader mode when my Himalaya was runing it started and it run to just "removing your old rom" ad then it crashed again when I tried to restart my pocketpc It stuck to bootloader mode again and again.
I tried my old rom to upgrade but the same thing happens as bootloader screen writings disappear or crushings occur.I have an Tmobile mda. Thanks nad please help
I also tried to run himaupgradeut_noID.exe and when this bootloader writings disappear I disconnet it and open in bootloader mode to return writings and connect it to cradle again.Everything goes ok but when It comes to deleting and writing stage It gives me some error ocured and does not say which error is because there is blank
i would try using another pc

I tried on my friends laptop win xp with sp2 and yes i applied the power to the cradle.. but it doesnt seem to work... bootloader mode shuts itself off when i start the HimaUpgradeUt.exe then it (the exe) crushes.

The blank screen is normal. The display will return as soon as you confirm upgrade on PC screen prompt & it starts erasing the PPC ROM.
Have you tried waiting 'long enough' (at least 2 minutes) before the upgrade prompt confirmation displays in your PC?
When you said 'crashes' which one the PC or the PPC? Any message in your PC/Laptop? Have you installed Active Sync Version 4? Have you gone through with the Magneto Upgrade 'sticky' of XdaIIJojo & check for the prerequisites in upgrading?
Pls. check those 1st!
HimaUpgradeUt.exe crashes.Pc or PPC does not crash.I cant try it because of HimaUpgradeUt.exe crashes even ActiveSync 4.0 and says;
AppName: himaupgradeut.exe AppVer: 1.2.0.0 ModName: himaupgradeut.exe
ModVer: 1.2.0.0 Offset: 00010ed9
I have tried 3 different computer but the same HimaUpgradeUt.exe crashes.
I cant go on Magneto Upgrade 'sticky' of XdaIIJojo & because on this thread there is just a big picture.
Sorry to disappoint you Zool but, my setup is O2 Xda II & there could be some difference with your T.Mobile MDA.
Isnt there any other option ?
everytime i flash with nvid wm5 i have to install htc usb switch and select "serial" (its on "RNDIS")and then move on for wm6 upgrade else usb doesn't gets detected.
is there a more shortcut
anyone please? does everyone use this pathway only to flash on windows xp?
Hi! I tryed te fash my niki 200 with original rom! The flash is stopes to 42% and now i have boot mode with this message "Upgrade ROM code error! Please try again". I can not conect again to usb because i received message :"usb device not recognized". Mtty can not conect because i received the same message! There is another metod de make this device?
Have you flashed HardSPL?
Put your device into bootloader (hold b oth Camera and Power button while performing a Softreset via Stylus) and now you can theoretically flash your Provider ROM!
After that your device will work again!
I have not flashed hardspl! If i put the Niki in boot mode, show only "serial" on the screen with usb cable pluged and PC says "usb device not recocnized"!
Flashing in bootloader mode doesn't requires an ActiveSync connection so ignore it and start the ROM Upgrade! It's working, believe me! I've flashed my Niki with this method hundred of times!
I tryed to flash my niki in bootmood, but not working "error 260:conection"! My computer not recocnized my device (with or without activesync)!!!In bootmode on screen show "serial" and when i pluged the cable nothing happend (must see on screen:USB)! This is my problem!!! The computer does not alocate to my device a com port(USB). The same problem with MTTY (no USB poet detected). You understand me?
Maybe your USB drivers screwed up.
Trie with an other PC, this helped me one time.
I tryed on other computer with Xp and other with Vista! The same problem! Not recocnized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got the same issue. Did you resolve this? I would like to find a solution
During the upgrade of jasjar to wm6.5
After synchronization by activesynic and format the old version
Restart the machine work and entered the boot Loader system
Screen appears, written by usb from the top and bottom of v1.00
And a message from windows xp says usb device not recognised
And stop everything ....
I tried to install the driver of the usb from the cd but the pc does not accept
also tried more pc by xp, seven, vista
But the same thing ....
What is the solution
[Q] Do I need "Active Sync" to use CustomRUU, or can it just be in the Tri-Color Boot Loader manager with the USB cable connected?
I assume you can flash without being in WM, if so, my WM install can stay very thin for android porting.

If you are going to flash by connecting to your computer via usb cable, and you are using a WinXP computer, you will need to flash via ActiveSync.
If a Vista or Win7 computer, you need the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Center installed and connected.
No, your phone does not need to be booted into WinMo to flash, you can also connect to your computer with your phone in bootloader, and then running the customruu,
(power the phone on while pressing volume down button, will see tri-color screen) but booting WinMo fully and connecting via ActiveSync or WMDC is recommended.
Or as an alternative, you can put your ROM on a small (I prefer 4gb class 2) sd card (not in any folder, just on the root of the card-preferably an empty card) and turn the phone on with the card in it the same way as if you were going into bootloader, and the phone should tell you what to do from there. (Just the ROM goes on the card, not the customruu.exe , only the file LEOIMG.nbh)
Just make sure you have HSPL installed, and make double sure you have a compatible ROM
