What SPL are you on?
SPL-1.42.0000, but I try different SPLs and HSPLs
Hmz, I havn't seen this... Does the device boot, or does it directly go to bootloader?
Normally it's stuck at the HTC boot screen, to go to bootloader I press volume key. I try different versions of roms, but no result

is this your stock rom?
have you tried downloading once more the stock rom from HTC's website based on your device's serial number? Error 18003 is most likely caused by flashing a corrupt file (either from the download or transfering/renaming the file to SDCard) ???
EDIT: are you sure you are not trying to flash a non-WWE version of the stock ROM without previously installing HSPL on your device?
Yes, I use firmware from HTC's website based on my device's serial number... When I flash custom roms or radio (roms, which image not contain EXTROM) it's flash well, but no result.
This morning I tried again to flash device and it flash well!! But it stuck at the HTC boot screen again. I used the same firmware as yesterday (RUU_Leo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.66.707.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship from official HTC's website) and used the same CD card as yesterday, but today it flashed well. I think, that it's hardware issue

maybe a bad copy/download?
Try this otherwise send it to warranty:
1) HSPL2
2) Task 29 by doonloop
3.1) Flash a stock WWE ROM (try a version 1.66) from the PC
or
3.2) Redownload your HK stock from a different source (specific thread here at XDA), rename it LEOIMG.nbh and flash it from your PC
Good luck!
Do not flash any ROM from your SD card please. Just use the recommended way - through PC.
remove sd card from your leo and try to flash rom using pc .
@mon_money..How can he flask from his pc ir phone wont boot... dont you need active sync?
I had a similar problem when i was using an incompatible radio rom for the rom i was trying to install...
copy the nbh file from the stock rom into the root of the sd. that will fix the problem..
I had a similar problem with a different ROM and I tried this suggestion provided by mskip. It does require you already have HSPL2 installed.
1. Turn your phone off and unplug it from your computer
2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN then Press and hold the POWER button. After about 3 seconds the tri-coloured screen should appear with the "SERIAL" driver displayed at the bottom
3.connect it to your pc it should install drivers.the screen should now say "USB"
4.reflash with std rom/radio, known working ROM, or original OEM rom - TMOUS has a bundled 2.13 download from their website.
Good luck.

probably best you don't use the 2.13. chances are it would be fine, but this rom seems to be pretty good at updating the spl to 2.1
not a problem for tmous users who can downgrade using rom 2.10 but that only works because their phone is tmous. the OPs phone isn't.
im pretty sure it just simply wouldn't work, but whilst you are already having problems, don't run the risk.
I try all this solutions but no result

This device was purchased new aprox. 6 weeks ago.
I flashed HSPL1 and updated the radio to Leo_RADIO_2.07.50.27_2
Then flashed Energy rom of my choice. via custom ruu.
I flashed lots of roms or the course of several weeks and have lots of prior experiance with custom rom flashing on many devices so this was nothing new.
The device worked great for this long and then yesterday updated Rom to
Energy Rom July 1.
When the device was finished flashing it auto started in the Bootloader screen.
I tried redownloading the rom and reflashing. Still started in bootloader.
Tried reflashing to previous working rom but it still started in bootloader.
Next I did a task 29 "format"
downloaded an official rom. RUU_Leo_Telstra_WWE_1.72.841.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship
Extracted the .nbh to a freshly formated FAT32 2gig mem card and reflashed via mem card.
The screen showed the progress like normal and the flash displayed "Successful".
When I rebooted the device it once again started in Bootloader.
This time:
PB81110 HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
so I am pretty sure that the bootloader and possibly radio and rom are correctly flashed but something is making it start in bootloader.
Any thoughts??
sticky 'down vol' button? try holding just 'vol up', , see if it starts a hard reset, , if it does then you know the vol down button was registering as pressed.

Only time I can make my phone do that is a) I've just done a task29 and there just isn't anything to load, b) I've flashed a rom incompatible with the radio currently installed or vice versa. So the flashes can be all fine but something is just stopping it at the door. Hmph, wish I had the silver bullet for ya bro. Best of luck.

it is my understanding that you are not suppose to use HPSL2 on the Telstra, you can use HSPL or HSPL3, did you mean to say you use 1 or 3?

Yes I meant to say 1.
I also tried both versions of 3.
it is back to spl now though since I flashed the offical rom. which has the radio included as indicated in forst post.
Thanks for all your good ideas I am trying them as you send them this way.
I am thinking if may be a hardware issue but am trying what I can before sending it in.
BTW the mem card I am using is SanDisk 2GB.
Does anyone think after reading previous posts that I should go out and buy a different card "just to try"?
no, you shouldnt need to use sd card at all. Ive only used sd card with this phone once, and that was just to test removing hspl 1.42 6 months ago.
You dont have hspl installed and the stock rom should flash over usb anyway. (You have tried that, right? boot to bootloader, connect usb, run the telstra .exe)

Yes it flashes normal over usb using RUU exe file. Everything looks normal until it reboots. Then it starts in Bootloader.
Have you checked if the ROMs you downloaded were complete? Are you sure they weren't corrupt? Tried flashing a generic WWE ROM? Also, flashing via USB is apparently a better flashing method than MicroSD.

I have the Telstra version myself and I HSPL (number 1) always use the USB method and have never had any issues.
One thing I did do, I flashed an official HTC non-Telstra version first. Then I flashed just a radio. Then I flashed Miri's ROM and everything worked. I have flashed Miri's version from 1 to 17.5 all using USB
you may want to try a different PC, I have heard of people who did this and it worked for them

Press VolUp to boot
I press VolUp and the bootloader appears again Thanks for the idea.
I will keep trying to work on this untill tue which is the next time the mail runs here. Will probably have to ship it to HTC CS to get it fixed. I am thinking something is wrong in the hardware.

I have never heard of anyone stuck on the Stock bootloader where the phone was not bad ...
but just for the sake of trying, try holding the UP and Down at the some time when powering on, I know that is supposed to only do a hard reset, but maybe it will kick it off ....
anything is worth a shot at this point ....
Like the title says, im just stuck at bootloader and instead of booting to the white screen it just stays on bootloader and says "SERIAL".
Ive googled, youtubed, and searched here, and many have the same problem, but i have yet to seen a solution to this.
I have tried android and many custom roms, and now im back on original ROM and everything works great. BUT i have HSPL in my phone and i dont want it for now.
It is a very easy procedure in the guides and should not be a problem, but please how can i get my LEOIMG.nbh to boot from my memorycard?
It is formated FAT32, and i have tried redownload the stock rom and unpacked it with winrar several times, but the result is always the same.
Is there some way to go around this? I Just wanna boot from the memorycard and restore my phone.
FYI, the restore is just for warranty issues.. I just want to be able to go back just to be on the safe side..
Then after that i can try the cooked roms all days
Thanks!
What size is the microSD card? As there has been reports of problems flashing from 16GB cards.
While in bootloader mode, you can plug in the microUSB and the 'Serial' should be replaced by 'USB'. This means that you can run the flashing from the computer (just ignore the requirement for ActiveSync).
Thanks for the quick reply!
I have a 8 GB memorycard.
Just before i read your post i inserted the usbcable and the screen on my htc says "USB".
But how do i uninstall HSPL from my PC in usbmode? Use customRUU and place LEOIMG.nbh in that folder?
If you install either the HTC Stock or your mobile provider's ROM (what ever you need for warranty requirements), they will flash your phone with SPL, ROM and RADIO.
These ROMs are avaiable from your mobile provider's website or via a link in the ROM Section.
Sounds great!
So i just run the original .exe file from my PC when my HTC HD2 is in bootloader screen in USB-mode, correct?
I have alreade flashed with original rom from PC when my phone was online. But then the HSPL did not go away even though my original rom was installed.
I could use alittle help too
when i try to update it stops at 4% tried to flash other energy roms with the same issue. don't know what todo to get past 4%

use the hspl.exe program to remove hspl just like you used it to apply it. just choose a stock spl instead of the hspl.
example, regular hd2, wants to go back to o2 stock everything.
run hspl2, choose 1.66.0000
run the o2 1.72.exe rom over usb.
all done.
if the rom doesn't flash its not the correct stock rom.

At first i used HSPL 3 to install 2.08.0000 HSPL.
But if i run that file again i only have the choice 2.08.0000.
I downloaded a previous version of HSPL, and there i could choose SPL 1.42.0000 wich was my original SPL version before the flash.
Is this a correct way to do this?
I am asking again because even though i now am at the original ROM and Original SPL version the Radio and Protokoll-version differs from the versions when i bought the telephone.
radio and protocol doesn't matter. yes you've done it right. so long as its a stock rom and the spl ends 0000 then it's fine.
Ok thanks!
Then everything is ok now and i am very happy for that, so thanks for all answers!
I can also add that i took my original SD-card (2GB) and put the LEOIMG.nbh on it.
The bootsequence then started ok when holding down volumebutton and power on.
But the result was exactly the same as it was when flashing to stock SPL with HSPL2 utility.
So the booting-problem was memorycard related.. So it seems that even some 8 gb memorymodules have problems.
Just thought you should know.
Hi guys,
At the moment i have SSPL.
I want to install HSPL3 - 2.08
but i cant unstall the sspl.
when i try to install hspl, i get error, BAD SPL VERSION
to install my sspl i used the folowing steps :
1. Remove SD (and remove Application Data and Program Files folders from it using SD card reader)
2. Remove HSPL with HSPL2_RUN.exe (flash SPL 1.66.0000 with HSPL2_RUN.exe)
3. PowerOff the phone
4. Boot to bootloader (VolDown+PowerOn) and when it shows "USB" flash stock ROM by running matching RUU_Leo_S_HTC_XXX_3.14.XXX_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15 .50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe (get yours HERE or for Orange UK/FR HERE)
5. Hard Reset (when phone starts booting after step 4, remove the battery, insert it back press VolUp+VolDown and still holding both press PowerOn and follow the instructions)
6. Boot to homescreen.
7. Run SSPL_RUU.exe with Artemis v40 RUU_Signed_0409.nbh in the same folder - YOU HAVE TO BE ON HOME SCREEN, NOT BOOTLOADER (this took me 3 tries until succeded - yes - nerve wrecking, but works). If it doesn't work (hangs on black screen for more than 2min or stays at 0%) remove the battery and try again. If still doesn't work - try solutions in NOTE below.
8. Hard reset (instructions in step 5)
9. when on homescreen - softreset.
10. Insert SD
Any help?
you dont have sspl, 'sspl - soft secondary program loader' is a one shot version of 'hspl - hard/hacked secondary program loader'.
You have 'spl - secondary program loader' - stock spl.
If you followed those steps you now have spl 3.03 and so hspl will not work. You must downgrade your phone to an earlier rom/spl version. 1.66 for example. USB will be fine so long as its your correct stock rom, , any version except 3.14.

AAh ok thanks it worked
I flashed original 1.66 ROM
No w i was able to install HSPL
Thanks!!!
no worries.
Hmmmm, I have the 3.14 ROM with 3.03.000 SPL installed.
What I`m trying to do is Install NAND Android. But to do this I need HSPL 2.08.
Tried downloading one of the older stock roms (1.66) and then attemped to flash via SD and through the .exe file directly.
From the .exe file it boots to the tri color screen and then reaches the progress bar screen. However it sticks there and the errors out with a code : 294.
Through the SD method after the phone detects the .nbh file it comes back with a "28002 : Not allow" error message.
Have tried this with varoius types of Mem cards but no luck.
I then tried SSPL with 1.66 as the ROM and i got it to flash the ROM with no problems but the HSPL still sticks at 3.03. And thats expected since SSPL is like a one shot go at flashing a ROM different from your region.
Question : Since this isnt working, will a task 29 help in this case? From what I understand it formats the filesystem that holds the OS. By doing so, will I then be able to flash one of the older Roms so I can install HSPL 2.08?
Any help will be appreciated.

Mate, do you want to upgrade or downgrade? You're statement is confusing
what do you mean "locked"?
As long as you flash the CORRECT STOCK ROM, you can upgrade or downgrade.
What you have to do first is find the CORRECT STOCK ROM".
you can't try all countries version, it is dangerous.
Go to htc website and select the country where your hd2 come from, and download the stock rom using your SN.
If you can't find the CORRECT STOCK ROM, the only alternative is using gold card method.
Good luck

I think you haven't found th CORRECT STOCK ROM, that is why "not allow"
Gold card is a method to enable you to flash stock rom from other country (it is useful in a situation where you can't find the CORRECT STOCK ROM.
There is a thread for gold card, just using search button to find it out
Good luck

However, if you still fails, then the only alternative is using gold card method.

I had installed android on my HD2 ... i wanted to go back to windows so I got a ROM from the HTC website but now my phone keeps restarting and it doesnt stay on ... I urgently need help, so please help !
Battery pins.
no the pins are okay ... any other suggestion ?
any other reason that you can think of ?
not for constant restarting,, no, but if you mean frequent restarting, meaning the rom boots and sometimes runs for a bit and then restarts, well thats a different issue, and if it does it on multiple roms, then its sounding like a hardware problem.
what rom is on it right now? what does spl say in bootloader (check, dont just assume its what you think it is, have an actual look in bootloader.)?
either the phone stays stuck on the logo screen and if it does start then it starts restarting after a while ... on the tri colored boot loader screen is says SPL-2.08.000 and something MicroP(LED) and MicroP(TOUCH)
do you have a TMOUS? because if not, then that spl is wrong,
so I got a ROM from the HTC website

there are no roms on the htc website with spl 2.08, so you have obviously flashed a regular rom but then reset hspl using another method, which, if im right so far could well be a 3.14 rom, and they DO NOT work on spl 1.x or 2.x on a reglar hd2.
Assuming you have a regular hd2 (white send/end keys)
if the rom you flashed IS 3.14 version,
into bootloader
hspl4
choose 3.03.0000
reboot, all should now be well.
or if that doesnt work
into bootloader
usb
hspl2
choose 1.66.0000
bootloader
usb
run the stock rom flash from the PC.
let us know.
RUU_Leo_TMO_UK_1.72.110.4_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship ... this is the ROM I have right now ... now i tried task 29 and with hspl2 i made the hspl version 1.66.000 but now the ROM is not flashing ... it just stays stuck on 0% !
Did you get that rom from HTC.com using your phones serial number?
yes i did !
with hspl2 i took the spl down to 1.42.000 and installed "RUU_Leo_TMO_UK_1.43.110.2_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50.22_2_Ship" ... the installation was fine but now the phone is stuck on the logo screen !
keeping in mind that i can only go as far as the bootloader screen what windows spl and radio would you recommend ... i have a TMobiles UK handset and i really need help !
Ok, so in that case it sounds like an actual fault. I'd go get the 3.14 t mo UK rom and flash that from SD card. If problem persists then definitely hardware.
can you tell me how to flash it from the sd card ?

To flash ROM via micro sd card:
1.Turn off your phone and remove your sd card.
2. Download to your pc, the CORRECT STOCK ROM (if you want to go back to stock rom) or any custom ROM. (Keep in mind that you will need HSPL to flash any custom rom as a pre condition).
3. After download, check whether the downloaded file is not corrupted.
4. If you want to flash stock rom, then you should extract the downloaded file (use 7zip or winzip or winrar). Find the file name: "RUU_signed.nbh" (without quote) and rename it to: "leoimg.nbh" (without quote) (note: nbh is a file extension for image).
5. Back up all files in your sd card to your PC. Then format your sd card to FAT32 partition. Copy file "leoimg.nbh" (without quote) to the root directory of your micro sd card.
6. Put your sd card back to your phone.
7. Press the vol down and power on buttons AT THE SAME TIME. Wait until bootloader screen appear and it will change ito white color screen.
8. Follow the on-screen instruction.
Done
Note:
-before doing that, make sure your battery capacity is at least 50%
-the above methods also apply for flashing any custom rom BUT YOU MUST HAVE HSPL installed before flashing it, otherwise it will fail.
Good luck
Hello, please help regarding my HTC HD2. I tried everything but nothing helps. I'm trying to restore WP 6.5, but it keeps coming back to the bootloader. here's what I've tried:
1st made the task 29 (after installing HD2 returned to the bootloader)
2nd installed radio Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14 (after installing HD2 returned to the bootloader)
3rd installed Hsp 08.02 (after installing HD2 returned to the bootloader)
4th installed signed RUU (after installing HD2 returned to the bootloader)
-Installation went through with no problems and always come back to the bootloader ??
-I tried the installation via a micro SD card but throws an error 'update rom code error ... not allowed)
-Magdlr 113 installed without problems but returns to the bootloader after restarts
- I tried with MTTY but always the same, restart and returns to the bootloader
- I tried with 3 diferent RUU (all for my country) and nothing
Any solutions? All comments are welcome. Ty

I tried with different batterie, usb cable and micro sd card as well, still same problem. please help!!
I would reflash HSPL 2.08
then try custom WM6.5 ROM from link in HD2 Wiki & then a radio too ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2#ROM_Development
ROM code error would suggest you got no HSPL & ROM code of roms you are trying are not correct, ROM code is region & vendor specific but with working HSPL and USB flashing it is bypassed, dlashing via SD card removes HSPL at first step then if wrong ROM code it fails to flash so you are best sticking with USB flashing.

Thank you for answer
HSPL 2.08 was re-fleshed (with HSPL 4) each time after attempting to install via SD card, that's OK.
I tried to install this three ROMs:
RUU_Leo_S_TMO_HR_3.14.119.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
RUU_Leo_TMO_HR_1.66.119.0_Radio_Signed_15.31.50.07U_2.07.51.05_2_Ship
RUU_Leo_TMO_HR_1.72.119.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship
I followed all the steps that returns the WP on the phone, and HD2 do everything, except the most important one, not raise OS.
ROMs installation runs without any problems via USB but when HD2 should run WP 6.5, HD2 returns to the bootloader. And now when I turn on the phone automatically starts in bootloader.
Flash SPL 3.03HSPL then flash the 3.14 ROM via USB
Do you get 100% progress bar on the HD2 while flashing ?
If completes ok try rebooting but do so via reset button on back of HD2 & see if boots.
If still going to bootloader try reflashing just the ROM radio 2.15.50.14 from link in HD2 wiki as they known working radio ROMs.
Try rebooting again & using reset button on rear to see if helps get proper boot.
If still fails try flashing Radio ROM again but from sd card & test boot again :-S

Thanks for the help, but still nothing.
I followed all the steps that you wrote and at the end, again the same - the bootloader.
- SPL 3.03HSPL flashed OK, pic 1
- Flashed 3.14 ROM via USB, 100% progress on HD2 and PC, pic 2
- for reset I used button on rear, and HD2 returned to bootloader
- after that I tried installation via SD card (formated to FAT32), pic 3
- installation stopped after this point, pic 4, and i got this messages pic 5 and pic 6
I don't know is this important but, after each installation, before entering the bootloader, the screen shortly flashed and in the background I can see 'loading' but quickly bootloader start again.
I think it's something wong in the HD2 because in the bootloader I can not see the radio version at the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure, but at the previous installation (before it broke) I was able see that. Thank you again
Problem is it not flashing radio &/or suspect Radio nand is bad !
You want flash HSPL & the ROM via USB then try just flashing a Radio via USB & SD, not the complete ROM as via SD that removes the HSPL then you get those error messages as wrong original ROM for region/vendor.
Just try various attempts with 2 radio roms linked below (rename same as a full ROM to flash via SD) & hope you get lucky !

Thanks for your help. I installed the radio via sd card with no problem but when installing the ROM again the same problem. I think it's best to leave the HD2 to get some rest and try again when I have more time and nerves. Thank you so much for your advice. I hope I will fix it .. once
