I don know which country u belong to but if u r from China the update usin Kies. If u have the international I9100G the install ROM's like CM9 or AOKP or ParanoidAndroid or RootBox. Those ROMs come with ICS 4.0.4
Thread moved
Questions never belong in Development.
4.0.4 is released only for chinese handsets
and if u have an internation i9100g then it wont work it will just end up in a soft brick
and u will have to flash the stock rom again

Odin and Kies don't play well together. Uninstall Kies and try Odin again.

When you flash via PC odin don't use .pit file and don't tick repartition (leave all options in odin default). Rom file open as PDA. It should work.

Hi,
I'm trying to flash another firmware for my GIalaxy Note 10.1 N8000. I have read all tutorials etc. and prepared all according to it.
I was able to succesfully root to Clockwork Recovery so i though flashing another firmware to turn the Note into a European one instead of Chinese would be easy too. WRONG!!
Every time i want to flash with Odin it fails in the beginning of the process, see below:
Is there anyone who could comment me on what to do? I was able to recover from the failed flash attempt but i really want to flash another firmware from Europe for this Chinese version.

Any help what is going wrong or what i should try to do?
Thanks a lot far any help.

Even it is a generic question you might get an answer if you post it in the correct forum.
You are here in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500/7501/7510/7511 forum! This is not for Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000.

This thread describes a similar issue.
The user tried flashing the stock firmware through Odin; it bricked the phone.
If you read through it you will see how the issue was resolved.
Thanks , but its for G925F version ? what do I need to do since its not the same version?
Now that is another conundrum I wasn't prepared for. I know that half of the tutorial on that thread is compatible with your phone; half is exclusive to G925F.

I found another thread that explains how to troubleshoot a failed Odin attempt.
It is written for the Galaxy S2, but sounds generalized for all Samsung Galaxies.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-t2345831
If you have access to download mode, you're ok but in order to reduce to a minimum the things that might go wrong, you should:
1- Use odin 3.10.6
2- verify the integrity of the firmware downloaded on sammobile. It should be roughly 3,402,561 kb in size
3- make sure you have Samsung Android drivers installed
4- If all above fails, switch USB cable, and then USB port
If you still have an issue, try downloading the odin flashable TWRP and try to flash it, if it passes, try wiping everything on the phone in TWRP and try the process again
As a last resort, you can try to see if KIES emergency firmware installation will work. If after doing all this you're not back up and running, you're screwed but i doubt you will have failed all of the above.
at first.. you need a custom kernel to root 5.1.1 because of the new system write protection..the second i think you are on reactivation look..look in my twrp thread for more
You got error on sboot.bin due to your flashing bootloader version lower than your device bootloader try to get the latest firmware or flash a custom firmware
If you need further assistance contact me via pm

Well from what i know and we all know Samsung has told us that we will recieve lollipop in May. After that,1month +.And so on. We're almost in september and no lollipop update. On their site it says it's delayed. I don't know why because GpVE recieved lollipop in all countries so it's not a problem. I at least hope that they cancel it and i can be sure having no regrets rooting the phone and flashing a rom. Please post any news you find. Thanks a lot

Hello
I would guess it's probably because your current version is a higher version compared to the one you want to flash, I mean you have U3 and want to flash U2.
But that's just my guess

Yea I agree, but apparently some versions you can't downgrade, I'm sure I read it somewhere just can't remember where
