you have flashed a kernel which is not compatible with the rom (means you maybe flashed a jb kernel on a ics rom or something like this). be sure that your kernel is for stock ics..read the first posts of the thread from the kernel you want to use.
sometimes u need a full wipe to work with new kernel

Overclocking lg760 20H

I have a problem with overclock stock android (20h). Of course I rooted my phone and after it I installed busybox (xbin). On terminal console I have "exec format" error. Before 20h I had 20c and everything worked fine.

every time the same error I have "exec format error'
Does anyone have any solution to the problem?
LG updated kernel. Before 20h it was (3.0.31), but after 20h update everyone has (3.0.31-00002-ge3c15f3).

just flash back the stock recovery im on v20h with 3.0.31 kernel and overclock works good =p
what do you mean? just with the upgrade rom 20H changed the kernel to 3.0.31-00002-ge3c15f3 and I had 3.0.31. I changed only by KDZ rom for 20h and updated the kernel itself. I have to restore all of the software to stock rom Poland Orange and manually upload 20h?
I had previously 20C: 3.0.31. after update rom to KDZ: 20H changed kernel :3.0.31-00002-ge3c15f3
UPDATE OVERCLOCK working. i go back to kernel 3.0.31 (lock BL) and every working fine

[SOLVED] Im having a hard time installing kitkat roms, helppp

Heyyy, so i just came back to android and felt like flashing some kitkat roms so as to enjoy those cool features kitkat offers..i'm currently running stock 4.1.2 JB.
as far as im concerned, first i should flash a rooted+cwm kernel through odin (which i flashed latest siyah for JB)... that went smooth and i got rooted and got cwm, problem is when i want to actually install any rom... I continually get "installation aborted" and the only way to make my phone usable again is to flash a stock firmware through odin.
any ideas ? thanks !
PD: I tried installing the "kitkat cwm compatible" thingy both through odin and through cwm, it did flash correctly, but phone fails to boot. if you dont get this last thing.. its this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546597
hope anyone out there can give me a hand since im tired of running stock :'(
check the OP again
have you read the OP before flashing KK custom rom. maybe u miss some part to flash it.
You can flash philz kernel on to of your stock JB to get root and recovery (no need to use Odin, you can flash through standard recovery). Then do a backup of your rom and after that flash a cwm-recovery >6.0.4.x (this is needed to be able to install s KitKat ROM). Boot directly after flashing into that recovery, wipe system and data and install KitKat.

I've got more information there.
Do you know what firmware you installed?
Or you can flash dorimanx kernel through Odin. It also gives you root access. Download this:
Kernel_Dorimanx-V8.43-[12-21]-[24-10]-TAR-FOR-ODIN.tar
If you don't know how to flash it through Odin, look in the op of the dorimanx kernel thread. Just above the download links it's explained.
After that follow the instructions from AndDiSa by flashing a kitkat compatible cwm etc.

many problems in cm12 unoffcial

hi
tired to flash other roms i flashed cm12 unofficial but when i turn on phone and press the power butten it will reboot:|
the message app always stops
and the music app too
wifi not working
and...
i want to fix wifi problem to update it with cyanogenmod ota updates
what should i do?
These problems may are bugs of your ROM? Which ROM are you using? I recommend this one:

THX for your response
but when i connet device to odin via downloadmod odin not reconized it
and this rom does not have a recovery!
so iwant a way to fix the wifi problem and update it via ota
Some more experienced users say installing another kernel might help, because WiFi drivers are included in kernel... But difficult without Odin... Perhaps check out the thread about Odin connection problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43132016
Or try the Flashify app or Mobile Odin from Play Store for flashing another kernel. Hope this helps. I'm not a pro, but better any answer than no one

wich kernel do you think is best
I can't especially recommend one, because I didn't install one yet. But search for Dorinmanx or Gustavo's kernel. Those are the most used kernels I think.

If you want to go back to stock rom, you will have to download the stock rom if you haven't already from sammobile or any other similar website. You will have to flash the file with ODIN then factory reset. (You can brick your device if you have brickbug affected chip and unpatched rom like some ICS firmwares, 4.1.2JB is the android version you want to downgrade to).

I think there's no other way than flashing another kernel, for example with Flashify. Most kernels also include a recovery. Then it is simple to flash the stock ROM via recovery (if you have the ROM as a zip file).
Hope this helps.

Why not just flash magisk

why is that? I've never seen any other device that I've used (Non xiaomi devices, don't know if its a xiaomi thing) return to stock recovery after flashing a ROM. Is it a TWRP bug? If so, I'm waiting for a bug fix.

No you misunderstood me.
I'm not saying recovery partition turns to stock
The system it self, if the rom doesn't have root in it self as is it won't be included. Also when you flash which ever rom, even Samsung for example root disappears the app supersu is still there but you need to run it and let it do its own work to get root back again right.
I'm just saying when ever you install new rom on xiaomi phones and basically any phone root is inactive until you run the app again
No bug, oh and twrp is unofficial that's why encryption isn't working for data partition.
No bugs it's just how it is.

Yeah, I know that root is removed when a ROM is flashed. What I was saying was from my own experience flashing miui 9&10. The recovery goes back to stock. Do you know why that happens? Is there some step that I missed?

If you are installing official updates of rom, like weekly or global version from xiaomi and not a custom rom. What other result did you expect?
If you are, Im not sure anymore but if you at this moment have stock Rom with twrp only and when a new version is released of stock Rom.... Than yes of course the system will be restored since it's stock recovery will be replaced to stock. Not a bug it's commen sense since you are updating to stock which doesn't contain twrp.
If you are using other rom that doesn't flash over /recovery partition, well then that is another story

How about start reading guides. After flashing ROM you have to flash fde zip otherwise your twrp will be replaced with stock recovery. That's the reason why you have to flash it. If you flash that zip you will still have twrp after flashing miui ROM @Zeggi you are wrong

Actually, what the fde does is disables encryption of /data partition.
Twrp is under /recovery partition.
And also I did a test yesterday by restoring my f1 to stock and verified that I didn't have to flash fde and after that I did reset in twrp and flashed fde v2 with magisk which worked also.
Big difference I noticed with fde v2 flashed was that the first boot was very slow and sluggish but after reboot it solved the slow speeds. Other than that I noticed vanced YouTube module in magisk worked for me, before when I hadn't flashed fde vanced YouTube crashed all the time so sure I benefited something out of flashing fde
