As school started just today, I would like autocorrect to properly work on my tablet. My model is SGT311 (also known as the 16gb wifi version) and is currently running the CM 10.2 August 21 nightly and despite having set autocorrect to "very aggressive", no word suggestions appear above the keyboard nor is there any corrections on the words typed. I jumped from several roms including:
Carbon Rom
PAC MAN
Cyanogenmod (10.1.2 and 10.2)
I had gotten it to work on an earlier version on CM 10.2 (dont remember which, but my tablet froze and shut down after a few minutes of inactivity), but have never retrieved the feature, even with alternate keyboards like swiftkey and google keyboard. What can I do now?

Hello,
This is mainly a question I would want to post in Android 4.1.1 - CyanogenMod 10 Preview thread, due to the fact that I’m a newbie on this forum, i can't.
I really hope that someone can help with my problems.
So, general description:
Galaxy tab 10.1 (p4wifi)
ROM - cm-10-20121109-EXPERIMENTAL-p4wifi.zip
ROM runs very smoothly, big thanks to all the developers and especially pershoot who is working hard to make this ROM tick.
So, I have a Bluetooth external keyboard and it works very well. But after installing it the native keyboard stopped working properly. Every time I wanted to use it: it would appear, I would type some characters and after 1 sec or so (very random) it would disappear, the keyboard selector in the bottom right corner would disappear with it. Then the keyboard/keyboard selector reappear after some time, without me doing anything (4-5 sec, also random), and when I would try to type more it would disappear again after a few characters.
In the beginning I though it's the external keyboard that's causing it. So I factory reset/ dalvik cache removed, but the problems remains even if the BT keyboard it’s not yet even connected with the tablet, on a clean install of the ROM.
Also it appears that the spell checker (red lines on the bottom of the words, PC style) doesn't work neither.
Tried Thumb keyboard and it works very well. But I would really want to know what happened, did I mess smth up.... Plus I’m writing a lot in French so the spell checker helped me a lot.
Thx for your help !!!
thx
Hello Arthur,
I am facing exactly the same issue as described by you. And I did not install any bluetooth keyboard.
Running CM10 nightly 20121117 on GT-P7510
hope someone knows how to fix this.
Thanks in advance
I think it was a known issue that the keyboard dock will no work properly with this ROM
Install hackers keyboard. Stable than the default keyboard.

The rom seems to be running great, updated to the most resent 'nightly" The only issue I seem to be having is that the android keyboard (which I prefer) always crashes, everytime, even if i try voice-to-text. Is there a fix? Otherwise I am running swype.

I've had no issues with any of the nightlies I've installed over the last week or so of having the tablet. Have you tried doing a clean install?

Using the goo inside gapps, the AOSP keyboard has issues. Check out my thread about nightly discussions, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074202
If you want to keep the gapps you have installed, disable the Auto-Correct and you should be good to go.
Touchscreen problem after flashing cm 10.1
Hi every one, i Flashed Cm 10 and after that flashed cm 10.1, keyboard wasnt working well. One day my battery completely ran out and i charged it to 100 %. after that my touchscreen is working oddly, it is getting pressed all by itself at the position of "v" in keyboard(at the lower end of screen, in the middle), at the same position it is happening, whether it is locked or on the home screen or on the app page. I flashed ICS samsung version, but the problem persisted, can some one throw some light as to whether it is a hardware or software problem.
I was on CM10.1 Nightlies...it is great ROM and a lot of good stuff, but still quite unstable for me.I don't think our Galaxy Tab 10.1 ever going to see a stable release for 4.2.1.
I went back to Stock 4.0.4, and flashed latest A1 Kernel. I will probably stay with that until there's good improvement on CM10.1
So I bought a pebble from the kickstarter project and it finally came in today. Found out that it doesn't seem to work with the CM 10.1 nightlies so I need to change my rom (pebble service wont start). If anyone has received their Pebble, what roms does it work well with?
EDIT: Went back to a previous backup of CM 10 and that works fine so I guess I will stick with that. Still curious though - if anyone has any input.
EDIT #2: CM10 is working very well with pebble. One weird quirk, Talkback (the feature that reads websites to you) seems to turn on automatically for the default browser when Pebble is sync'd (even when talkback is completely disabled)
Hi guys,
yesterday I updated from 20140530 to 20140606 and the rotation bug seems to be fixed now?! - whoohooo
If your phone APP crashes switch to default theme/style cause it was updated with Android 4.4.3.
The new twrp (2.7.1.0) cant flash cm11 without an error here on my international hox+

are you sure? because there's nothing mentioned in the changelog regarding tegra drivers/kernel...
the old TWRP could not be used to flash 4.4+ roms, i don't know about 2.7, just use philz touch com recovery for 4.4 roms

I tested it several times with chrome browser (lock screen, switch rotation, unlock) and the view isn't mixed anymore.
camera app still has a short lag before changing view, but much better than before
I also flashed via cwm. I just wanted to know if it works now using twrp ^^

I tested stock camera on 4.2.2 sense 5 rom (there's a package of cm11 apps in play store) and there's also this lag. just try other camera apps and it should be fine. and latest nightly is stable enough for daily usage?
Is the 20140606 stable? (I know it's nightly but you know what I mean) I'm still using some build from February which is a milestone release. Rock solid.
Too bad Lloir's phone is fooked up.

I'm using these nightlies on my daily device since months. most annoying were the rotation bug and the bug where chrome got black on some sites when keyboard was acitvated (appeared in nightlies of last month) - both are gone now.
I cant say if its stable after 1 day of usage. in nightlies before I had freezes from time to time (especially when using gps - in my opinion) and had to hard reboot my device. this could happen 2 times a day or once in the week.
in nightlies about 2-3 weeks ago a had a bug where sometimes u couldnt hear your dialogue partner (had to recall) - didnt happen anymore
well... its your decision if u can live with that. for me it's ok and I won't stuck on 4.2.2
I'm sorry... All back. Rotation bug is still here back. Dont know why it worked so well this morning
I've had this 8GB tablet for a couple of years and was running CM10 at one point. Even under 10, I was having lag issues. I upgraded to 12.1 hoping things would be better.
I go to launch an app (Settings, for example) and there's a 5 second (or longer) delay before the app opens. Other times, I'll press an icon and there'11 be a delay of a couple of seconds before the UI registers the press.
Sometimes I can't get the tablet to wake up and end up having to power cycle it.
I'm not sure if the issue is with 12.1 or the tablet itself TBH and am really at a loss as to where to even start looking. Should I look for a newer version of cyanoboot (the version I have is from Nov 2012) and try to get TWRP installed instead of CWM6.0.4.6?
I installed TWRP manager and it reports that I don't have root, so there's that too...

As far as I know, those of us with the 8GB Nook Tablet are out of luck when it comes to Lollipop. A number of us have gone through the steps of changing /userdata and /cache to f2fs, and then flashing CM 12.1 and gapps for 12.1, but the result is so slow and laggy that it is just not usable. This Nook just doesn't seem to have enough memory to run Lollipop.
I run Kitkat, with the latest CM 11 Snapshot on mine and it runs really well.
