Hey guys. So I've been noticing these last few days that my charging port seems to be a bit loose. I drops the connection quite easily. Definitely not the cables, I've spent some time testing. What should I do? Is there any sites selling this part? I know it's an easy repair. Or would T-Mobile swap it in store? I really want to avoid getting a refurbished phone (might be too early) and this definitely isn't anything I caused so don't think I should pay a insurance fee. Just kinda freaking out cause my devices usually never have any problems. Lol help... ???

It's exactly 2 weeks today since I bought the phone so I think they'll still swap it, anybody know?

10% off by just saying that you have a credit union account
---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
You can mention that you work for chase, UPS, dell, or some other big company but they might ask for an employee number or something.
I've heard that you can get away with it if you just tell them your email is [email protected] or something similar
Some companies get a sprint discount. If you have an email address with your company try it here:
http://sprint.p.delivery.net/m/p/nxt/dev/wdyw.asp
If you are a student you can go to student rate and get a 10% discount I think but it may only apply to new or renewing contracts.
http://www.studentrate.com/STUDENTRATE/itp/get-itp-student-deals/Sprint-Student-Rate-Member-Discount--/0
For what it's worth... those big companies get like 25% discounts. M discount is 27% which I got when I "worked" for DHL.

adding a discount can be done at any time, but they will reset the clock on your contract to 20 months. It will not affect your upgrade eligibility though.

You can try and argue that with them and see if they will bring your contract date back to what it was.
First of all thanks guys. Second so to make this clear I would be renewing my contact correct me if I'm wrong.

In addition, you could call every few weeks and complain about service and they'll credit your account a few days.
I've heard that some people set an alarm every 2.5 weeks and they call and sprint will credit 1-2 days worth so their contract gets prorated every month.

You can try to argue it, but I don't think they will budge. But I'm not a CSR from sprint so who knows.
Call up sprint and tell them you get a discount from the company you just got hired at. They will ask you for the discount code, use Google to find the best discount

Sometimes the reps in stores will set it up for you. When I got my first EVO when it came out the rep hooked me up, told him I want it I'll drive anywhere in the surrounding states, but I need it within 3 days cause I was going back to work, driving semi over the road. So he gave me a persons preorder from their other store, & told sprint I work for some company, where got me like 25%. Never had to prove nothing.

wow, that does suck. I'm glad that didn't happen to me. I save $19.99/month. Even after the multi line change. I called & complained about changes, threatened to cancel. He said it's a difference of like $4/month, & I have like 5 months remaining so he will give me $50 credit if I stay, or he would cancel if I would like. I stayed cause that was more then the difference.

Don't blame the iPhone.
Blame threads like this.
Discounts used to be easy through Sprint. Someone started a thread like this about a year ago I think, and was promoting that everyone try and get some discount that they weren't entitled to. That's (within one week) when Sprint started requiring proof of employment for most service discounts.
Really muffs it up for the rest of us that now have to jump through hoops for the discounts that we actually are entitled to.

Thats only worth it if you would have AAA regardless. But if the idea is to buy AAA to get the discount, it really isn't worth it. Discounts only apply to the base rate and not the total bill... likely only amounting to ~ 25.
It would be nice if the discount applied to the $10.00 data plan fee also

you can get a new one from HTC im on my third replacement now.
EDIT:
The headphones have a 1-year warranty through HTC. After being passed around from the Verizon store to Customer Service to Monster and back around again, I was finally given this phone number:
1-866-449-8358
This the department at HTC that deals with these issues. Once they verify your information, you have two options.
1) You mail the broken headphones to them on your dime, any mailing method. They have to receive the headphones within 15 days of the claim being filed. Once they receive your faulty buds, they will mail a new set back (shipping cost on them).
2) You can give them your credit card number. They will hold $1 on it and send out your new headphones immediately. If they don't receive your broken headphones within 15 days, they will charge $109 to your account.
there is the info. just call them and tell them whats going on.

I have to send my phone in to T-Mobile because the mic is cutting out sometimes when the screen turns off (proximity sensor turns it off and then sometimes the other person can't hear me at all until I pull the phone away from my face and the screen comes back on). I just got the phone and it was doing that from the get go but I assumed it was network or sim card related. It's not either and I've since rooted the phone.
T-Mobile wants me to send it back to them, but I can't get the RUU yet so what would you do? what is the best way to send it back to t-mobile without the RUU?
Thanks in advance.

It's in the buyer remorse period still so they have to take it back. Then it's basically a reorder.

If you violate their warranty by tampering they most certainly do not have to take it back. It a risk we have to take when unlocking the bootloader and rooting.
buyers remorse period
I'm curious, slightly off topic however I am considering returning my HTC one for a different device altogether and i'm within the buyers remorse period. I have unlocked my bootloader and rooted but nothing is broken. I have my stock nandroid to put on but ill still have an unlocked bootloader, does anyone have any experience with sending it back to tmobile in this situation? I understand warranty is a completely different ballgame but in the worse case scenario I assume they will have to send it back to me. My wife has the same phone so I could send hers in if she decides she doesn't want to switch like I do. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!!

This is not true. I work in a T-mobile Corp Store. HTCDEV unlocking and rooting the phone removes the warranty on the phone with T-Mobile. It says on the HTCDEV website that by unlocking your bootloader voids the warranty. Your best bet since not all T-Mo reps know how to really check is to Format the system partition on the phone and put the stock recovery back on it. re-lock the phone. This way the phone will not boot, but most T-Mo reps do not know how to go into the Bootloader and check to see that it has been unlocked. Go into a T-Mo store and tell them that the phone will not boot. Make something up like it restarted on its own and wouldn't boot again. If you get a dumb rep they will be like Ok i will exchange it for another phone. Most in store Reps will see that it doesn't boot and just exchange it.

Its in the buyers remorse period yes but since it was dev unlocked that voided the warranty.
I would not be returning for warranty issues. And it CAN void portions of the warranty. It didn't automatically void the whole thing. At least according to the htcdev site.

Oh i understand what you are saying 100% but the problem is that with rooting the phone you can be told that there is no way to know if that caused the problems you are having. I could case less about doing a exchange for people in the store. The problem is T-Mobile does. T-mobile says that by rooting your phone you are voiding all of your warranty with T-Mobile. Maybe not directly with HTC but with T-mobile you are. There are ways around it and by doing the system format part it makes it look like the phone will not boot into android which can be a software problem. Unless you get a good rep to see that you have unlocked the bootloader they will never know what you did. Once that Rep exchanges it in the store you are 100% covered on your end.
That makes sense but in my case nothing is broke. I am considering exchanging for an s4

No matter what then you are looking at restocking fee. T-mobile will only exchange for the same model with no restocking fee.
The restocking fee is waived if it was an online or phone order. That is in writing. I'd have to send it to ft wworth Texas. Wait for the eip credit and get a different device.

Ah gotcha. Yea the remorse department and customer care said that since I didn't actually get the phone at a retail store the 50$ restocking fee is waived because I coukdnt demo the phone... I just have to pay to ship it but they gave me a 10$ credit to cover that lol. I actually think I'm going to keep my HTC one now but it's such a hard decision. Just having a hard time getting used to it. But yea in my case no warranty issues I was told it would get scanned in and credit applied. I assume they check for physical damage but doesn't sound like they check fir root or anything in my situation.

I've seen posts elsewhere that they're waiving the deposit until 9/24, but I don't know if that's verified. I don't really need it but if it's free, it's for me. They ship UPS ground so it'll be here in a week. Apparently, they don't have them in stores yet.

You're correct! I just called T-Mobile to confirm the $25 deposit being waived, and they told me yes.
I just got off the phone and there is no $25 deposit between Sept 17 - the 24th . I would order now if you guys need one . Said i should recieve it by sept 29 via UPS ground.

I did, it shows "Unable to process...". So I call them back. It turn out the first rep I talked with this morning never complete the order. The 2nd rep has to finalize it. He told me for the trouble, he'll make sure it ship out today. My order status show "Pending ship" now.
TIA

It's cause the stupid rep didn't want to admit they couldn't figure out how to place order

So, after seeing this thread, I decided to bite the bullet and order my free router. Took all of 15 minutes to do and I'll have it by Monday. 100% free. No taxes, no upfront costs, no monthly costs, no shipping costs. However, if any of us break service with T-Mobile, they'll charge us $99 to keep it.
The rep I talked to never mentioned a $99 fee to keep after termination, nor does it say that in my online order, nor the text message I received. The T-Mobile TOS mentions fees for unreturned equipment, but does not obviously call out this device, and it's unclear that this is a "rented" or "temporary" device. For all I can tell by talking with the rep, I "ordered" it, and they didn't charge for it. It'll be an interesting conversation if that ever happens (though I'm entirely happy with T-Mo at this time).

It should show in the Alerts section of your My T-Moblie home page. It says "Order in progress" with the order number.
I ordered mine last night, will be here September 29th. No charge, no monthly fee, but must be returned if T-Mobile service is broken. :fingers-crossed:
Has anyone gone for this promo? I just did and the terms are a little vague. I truly just want to sell the second phone to ultimately end up with the phone I'll keep being 'free'. The terms state buy two and 'add a new line of service'. Doesn't say anything about needing two lines.
Anyone managed to payoff the second and cancel service on the second, but still get the cash card?
If you ask a rep, they tell you that service is required until you get the card - dubious that is the true answer.
What she told you is correct. I got the buy one get one free offer and the free phone had to be on a totally new line. You must keep that line in service in order to qualify for the deal. That new line is only $25 per month.

I do not know how long that line must be kept, but as soon as I'm able to get rid of it I will.

Thanks, for the reply. From what I can tell, then, you must retain the service until the pre-paid cash card is dispensed. Hopefully sooner than later of the stated 6-8 week rebate turn-around.

Mine have always taken 2 months to get the card.
You have to wait until you physically receive the card to cancel the new line. When you cancel the new line the remaining cost of the device is due (but you should've paid it off by now anyway..)
You cannot take part in a TMO promotion such as BOGO like this again within 90days of removing a line..
