Post here if your phone is NOT bend
Not bent after 3 months.
Not bend after 3 hours
A thread for everything the phone is NOT doing would just clutter the forums.

The light of the bottom 4 keys always turned on whenever i touch the screen during the time of reading at night. It made the eyes very uncomfortable. I can not find how to setup to take it off. Is there any way to do so? My rom is gingerbread clone final R2 by Great Eugene.
My English is not good,sorry!
Thank you for any help and comments.
Last night I took my vibration apart to mod the buttons to blue dots, but there's a piece of plastic that holds the mic and other chips glued or pressure fit over the glass from the back. Anyone have any luck accessing the glass? I may take the leap and pry the plastic out when I get some time. Grr.

Thank you very much for the answer, fit333. It looks like that it is not a trouble bothering only me. I believe it could be fixed by some soft setup. I frankly do not dare to pry something out.
Get some electrical tape to cover it during the night time!
Sounds good. It is a rigid, not soft solution.

I've replaced the digitizer and I'm not sure that I've placed adhesive tape on all the right places. it's been a long time since disassembling the phone and installing the new digitizer.
I remember that there is tape under the LCD screen on the metal plate.
I remember also that there is in the bottom area of the phone near the trackball, and I don't remember if there is any tape on the top area of the frame, on the right and left side.
all the movies about disassembling don't show tape at all. it seems to have been removed before the recording.
any advice?

Water damaged Amaze probably just needs LCD replacement (phone powers on, vibrates, makes sound, bottom of LCD screen makes a weak attempt at glowing).
Bought LCD screen from ebay, decided I didn't have time to attempt the repair myself. Took it to a phone repair joint who has given the unit back, claiming that their attempt to separate the LCD/digitiser (the heat applied) caused the glue to bubble up and they didn't think it'd be a clean repair. It looks like they attempted to pry at the chassis in 3 places, so I have no interest in arguing with them.
Essentially, I'm in Australia but travelling to SF in a month. Can anybody (privately?) recommend a place to have the phone repaired within a few days? Will discard the new LCD screen and simply have someone replace the LCD+Digitiser combo for simplicity.
I read the forum rules and seeking advice on a commercial repair place in SF doesn't seem to break any rules.
Appreciate any advice.

If you're going to replace it as a combo it's really not all that hard. The separating the LCD from the digitizer is the only really dangerous part, as long as you can follow instructions...should only take an hour or so.

My phone is bent, i've never bent a phone and this has been living in a slack leather case, and it's only bent on the volume button side, if I place my phone on a flat surface on the sim side it's flat on the button side when I turn the phone around you can see the top of the phone is bent maybe 1mm, it doesn't photo very well though I may try again later.
My guess is that the processor is around the area its bent I would say from the heat, I never put my phone in my pocket or anywhere that could bend it, bit gutted going to go to carphone warehouse this morning see what they say.
As it is it doesn't bother me what I'm worried about is if it gets worse and cracks the screen or something later on they'll say I've done it in my pocket

You're saying that your phone was so hot it bent?

I'm not saying it got so hot it's bent it's never felt like its got that hot but what I think is its bent from the heat of the processors it obviously gets warmer than other parts of the phone, i'm only guessing, my phone is bent and 100% I've not caused it
I'm only saying that because it's bent where the phone gets warm which I presume is where the processors are, just above the power button only on the right hand side of the phone the left is perfectly flat

Not very encouraging spoke to carphone warehouse who said its a common issue not sure how happy they are to replace the phone as the chances are the same thing will happen to the next, spoke to Huawei, they are pretty much saying that any bending will be down to consumer abuse, i can send it back but chances are i'll be charged inspection fee, and a repair fee, they would contact before repair but I would still have to pay the inspection fee they very much doubt it would be covered under warranty because they say this is the first time they've heard of this... back to carphone warehouse then...
There is already an open, active thread discussing this very topic in the Nexus 6P general forum. No need for another one.

Guys this will probably be one of my last posts here in S8 threads. As some of you know I just replaced the battery in my s8. New back glass new ifixit kit. I give cheap plug to ifixit there parts and tool kits. Thank you guys for awesome parts. This last 24 hours my s8 has seen like new usage 8 hour sot again
Absolutely perfection.
As others may know I put the aluminum r just anti shock case on my s8 a few months back. Well thank you R just
My phone fell off my bed at 2 foot hit the frame rail shocked inside a shock proof case and spidered my screen.
This happend because your rubber insert and such tight precisioned machined metal allowed for movement from a 2 foot drop. Real fricking nice R just.
So to any one else. I probably would not purchase one of these nice looking but possibly fatal cases
